THE TRUTH ABOUT PARENTING

The goal of parenting should be to raise moral, hardworking, dependable, independent adults without very bad habits such as alcoholism, drugs, and gambling and hope that they will somehow find success and happiness in their lives.

Raising offspring who don’t lie, aren’t deceptive, don’t steal, are not promiscuous, and are dependable is a hard job in a world filled with lies, deceptions, promiscuity, and irresponsibility. If you raise moral offspring they will also have to learn that many others lie, deceive, are promiscuous, and are irresponsible and that this applies to organizations as well as individual humans.

Teaching your offspring to be honest, sincere, and dependable in a sea of lying, irresponsible, deceptive humanity is not easy and if you are a close to perfect moral role model there will be plenty of role models in society not to imitate because they are morally corrupt and are leading dysfunctional lives.

Teaching your offspring to successfully navigate through those bad social role models and seek out the good role models is not an easy task but it is your job, especially for young offspring, to expose them to as many good role models in society as possible and that is basically monitoring the friends which your offspring associate with.

Teaching your offspring to become independent adults is not easy in a technological world where liberal arts is increasingly job poor. You should encourage them to embrace as much technology as possible and motivate them to pursue technological careers but not stress out too much if they choose a liberal arts field, especially if they excel in it.

You and your spouse are the most important role models in your offspring’s lives. If you are not moral, hardworking, dependable, and independent then don’t expect your offspring to become much better or have more success in their lives than you.

THE TRUTH ABOUT POWER

Power (political): n. controlling humans and/or energy and matter

Power (physics): n. force times distance per unit time

Politically the most powerful are the international banks, international corporations, and governments. Also powerful are organizations, local businesses, parents, and humans.

Humans are controlled with money, laws, and moral behavior. Those who control the money, laws, and morality are the most powerful humans.

Without a strong moral foundation, much power corrupts humans who want more power by making more money and passing corrupt laws which grant them more power or more money and control over other humans and the world.

Everyone needs energy from food and other sources to survive and live and this is why food and energy corporations are so powerful. Money is the primary tool used to control energy usage in society and the laws determine who gets the most money or energy and matter which is stored energy.

Taxation and prices for information and/or goods and/or services are the primary tools used to control energy and matter usage. Laws distribute the wealth in a nation and determine who gets most of the wealth and who gets the least amount of it and in effect who is the most powerful and who is the least powerful in a nation.

A frequently overlooked important factor is the fact that an immoral society is ungovernable and plunges into chaos. It is vital to reestablish a universal worldwide secular morality which should be taught in public schools to young impressionable minds which are not religious.

Except in emergency situations-don’t destroy biodiversity, don’t lie, don’t be inefficient, don’t steal, don’t commit adultery if married, and don’t murder. To get more just laws to eliminate the unjust ones you need a strong moral code which most of the citizens believe in to guide them in their daily decision making which is largely impulsive and not logical.

Leadership which grows out of a sea of immorality will be unjust and dysfunctional because there will be no trust between the leadership and the led. Authority figures must be admired and respected for their moral virtues if a society is to voluntarily and peacefully interact. A morally failed leadership and immoral citizens can only be controlled through fear and intimidation and this is a very inefficient way to run a country or the world.

THE TRUTH ABOUT GUNS

Guns should be legal for law abiding citizens to use in emergencies. No police protection after hurricane devastation, a policeman strike, in the home during a burglary or rape, out in the country, for small businesses without surveillance cameras, on the street in a bad or crime ridden neighborhood, and protection against tyrannical measures taken by the government are all excellent reasons for having a gun.

Guns are the last line of defense against short duration criminal activity and the last line of defense against a violent takeover by the military or government forces. Those who don’t think that guns are important for citizens to have should just look at Putin’s violent takeover of the Crimea and military threats to invade a largely disarmed Ukraine.

Guns are and will be always necessary for law abiding citizens and any gun control laws should make it illegal for humans with felony criminal records to own them with severe jail terms if they don’t comply. Carrying concealed weapons in high crime neighborhoods should be permitted so that criminals think twice about robbing some unsuspecting citizen of their wallet.

Not everyone will have to carry a concealed weapon because criminals will always be wondering about the possibility that either the victim or a passerby will be armed and ready to use the weapon. Fear of being killed and fear of being severely jailed for carrying a weapon after a felony conviction is the only way to reduce premeditated crime in dangerous neighborhoods.

Yes, more guns translate into slightly more gun accidents and gun deaths but the protection afforded law abiding citizens on a daily basis is well worth the seemingly bad statistical cost and is an excellent way of keeping crime lower than it otherwise would be.

The only thing that hardened criminals and corrupt tyrannical governments fear is an armed law abiding citizen with a gun!!!!!!
