THE TRUTH ABOUT ADAPTATION

Time to Adapt - Clock

Adaptation: n. changing to achieve a goal(s) which is no longer possible to achieve without change and/or adjusting to changes in the environment

Change is inevitable in life and humans who don’t change or learn to adapt to new circumstances sometimes suffer greatly emotionally and frequently sink into depression or get hooked on addictive drugs and alcohol to try and escape their unfortunate predicament. Quite a few former celebrities and sports stars lose their fame and wind up living rather unfulfilling lives with drug abuse problems and profligate bad habits which frequently lead to bankruptcy.

One of the major keys to successful adaptation is finding new goals to try and achieve when the old lifestyle is no longer appropriate. Changing jobs, learning new knowledge and skills, moving to another part of the country such as from the city to the farm, and finding a new significant other are just some of the ways which are used to adapt to necessary change in an otherwise dysfunctional life.

In nature you either learn to adapt to changes in the environment or you starve and die and in the human experience you either learn to adapt  to new circumstances or you lead a rather miserable dysfunctional life until the day that you die.

THE TRUTH ABOUT ABILITY

download (2)

Ability:  n. having a subset(s) to achieve a goal(s) whether or not one has a legal right to achieve samer goal(s)

You are born with some physical abilities and you can acquire abilities during your lifetime in the form of knowledge and/or skills. Not so obvious is being given legal rights so that you have the ability to control other humans and their actions.

When you say that you can’t do something then you don’t have the ability to do the task or you may not have a legal right to do the task. Most of the important abilities are acquired through learning knowledge and skills in life and this learning increases the number of things which you can do in life.

Having the right useful abilities determines whether you will reach the goals both small and large which you try to achieve in your life. If you are having difficulty achieving your goals then you may not have the right abilities to do so so you should try to improve or acquire them.

It doesn’t take us long to realize that our looks, social skills, and learning potential is different from others and that abilities can vary greatly in small groups and larger ones. We may discover that we are the preferred offspring in a family but in a school environment there are others with more ability than us and get more preferential treatment.

Life is a constant struggle of trying to increase our abilities with the help of role models who already have developed those abilities or are in the process of developing a certain ability subset.

If you have to be born with a certain ability such as excellent memory to achieve your goals then unfortunately you will never achieve them if you are handicapped memory wise. The wise human learns to work and perform within his or her limitations but tries to optimize results within those limitations.

Ability is having something needed to achieve a goal(s). If you can’t get what you need and you can’t achieve your goal(s) then choose another goal(s).

THE TRUTH ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHY

cw photography

Photography has two major flaws which make it an imperfect art in many cases. It frequently leaves the background and/or foreground out of focus and frequently doesn’t take an action photo at the most interesting moment.

These two flaws are probably why action photography or videos are fast replacing still photography as a preferable form of recording nature and events. If a picture is worth a thousand words then a video is worth hundreds of thousands of words.

Amateur photography, the cell phone, and the internet have greatly cut into the profitability of photography.  There are few who can successfully survive making a living just doing wedding shots, magazine photos, or celebrity photos.

Photoshop and other photography software have opened the floodgates of photographic creativity but the skill required is becoming more complex and  fewer choose to spend the time necessary to master the needed skills.

Photography is not really a dying profession but it is getting increasingly harder to make a living at it.
