FIND AND PRACTICE GOOD HABITS TO REPLACE OR DECREASE THE BAD ONES!!!

We all have many bad habits which have become part of our everyday lives and if we eliminate them from our lives then what do we replace them with to fill the void? Replace them partially or totally with good habits.

In a nutshell the good habits are

eating and drinking healthy,

moderately exercising or moving around physically,

financial responsibility,

working smart and hard,

having good relationships with important humans in your life,

improving yourself with new useful knowledge and skills,

and taking time out to think about the priorities or goals in your life and making small adjustments as needed or drastically changing the priorities in an emergency or crisis situation.

In a nutshell the bad habits are

eating and drinking unhealthy,

not exercising or moving around much,

financial irresponsibility,

working stupidly or doing the minimum amount of work,

having bad relationships with important humans in your life,

not improving yourself with new useful knowledge and skills,

not taking time out to think about and readjust the priorities or goals in your life,

not being prepared for emergency or crisis situations,

and being trapped in bad addictive chemical behaviors.

Addiction: n. compulsively desiring a subset(s)

Addictions are usually thought of as addictions to a chemical substance frequently accompanied by severe withdrawal symptoms but processed food and drinks are also filled with lopsided chemicals some of which humans are addicted to such as sugar, caffeine, and carbohydrates. The withdrawal symptoms are sometimes increased anxiety and cravings for the food or drink.

I like to think of important bad habits as addictions to important bad behaviors with withdrawal symptoms similar to food and drink or noticeable increases in anxiety or craving for the bad behavior. The truth is that good habits are also addictions which you can develop a craving for. The choice is yours. Which addictions do you want in your life?

Sexual and gambling addictions or compulsions can do much harm to their addicts who definitely develop cravings for the bad behavior habits when isolated from them. Not everyone gets addicted to compulsive shopping, promiscuity, pornography, or gambling so if one does it a little or sometimes does some in moderation then it can’t be considered to be an addiction or bad behavior all the time or in every instance.

In a crisis situation you may have to go cold turkey or exclude the bad habit completely from your life. Realistically most bad habits are eliminated or reduced in small steps with good habits eventually getting lengthier time wise and more frequent and gradually replacing the old bad habits.

If you are eating unhealthy then start introducing tasty healthy organic snacks and eventually tasty healthy organic ingredients into your meals. Even organic food and drinks are not always tasty so feel free to add your own spices and sugar free sauces to the organic food and drink to suit your taste.

Keep gradually increasing the frequency and quantity of the organic food and drink. Eventually the tasty healthy organic food and drink will replace much of the unhealthy food and drink in your life if you unrelentingly persist in your goal of more healthy eating.

Sure society is so structured that becoming an organic fanatic is not only expensive but hard to do, especially with meat, and if you indulge in unhealthy eating once in a while then don’t feel guilty about it because it will not kill you or ruin your health dramatically.

Unfortunately the herd instinct or doing what others around you are doing is a very compelling force and it is very hard to overcome. This is why you should seriously consider finding new best friends with more good habits which you hope to get and leave behind your old best friends with the old bad habits which you have and want to get rid of.

If your best friends eat unhealthy, don’t exercise, are financially irresponsible, don’t like to work, have bad relationships with important humans, and have severe chemical or behavioral addictions or compulsions then the chances are that you will never rid yourself or decrease those bad habits in your life.

Birds of a feather tend to flock together and if you find yourself a member of a group of humans addicted to many bad habits then the situation for improvement is hopeless unless you miraculously become an independent selfmotivated good habit fanatic and live a life of relative seclusion or isolation.

Many humans have large egos and feel that they have almost no bad habits to get rid of. Knowing what a bad habit is or selfawareness is the first step on the road to a better you!!!!!!

Even after selfawareness you may feel that you are getting too much pleasure or satisfaction from your bad habits to want to change them. That is why the freedom to choose is such a heavy personal responsibility for all adult humans and many choose wrongly in the short duration and end up in misery in the long duration with bad health, financial bankruptcy, bad relationships, a bad lifestyle, and sometimes even death.

All good and bad habits start in childhood so you are truly at an unfair or unjust advantage if you have parents, relatives, childhood friends, and teachers with many good habits who serve as good role models.

THE TRUTH ABOUT PROPAGANDA***

Propaganda: n. the propagation of dogma with claims of truth but in fact the dogma frequently has some  or many lies and/or deceptions

When you advertise dogma then you are in fact propagandizing and much political and religious dogma has some or even many lies and deceptions.

In Nazi Germany the Aryan race was advertised as being superior to other races and made the Germans and other Aryans feel superior to others and so many were willing to make unreasonable sacrifices for their nations. White supremacy or white supremacists are an outgrowth of this propaganda which tries to entice white humans into thinking that they are in some way superior to others, can put down other non-white humans, and are therefore deserving of the better things in life.

The real truth is that there are many individual superior or talented humans in every race and superiority should not be thought of as a group characteristic common to all members of the group.

Some forms of propaganda are called the big lie which means that if you repeat a tempting lie publicly frequently enough then many humans will begin to believe it is true.

Today propaganda is much more prevalent in advertisements of products which untruthfully claim to make you beautiful, healthy, lose weight, and give you sex appeal.

BS can be thought of as a form of personal propaganda which many gullible humans fall for but it is really common lies and deceptions which are not advertised publicly.

Politicians and advertisers are not the only ones who can be blamed for propaganda but you too are engaging in your own personal form of propaganda if you lie or are being deceptive in the same way to more than one human. The important difference is that you can sometimes get away with public propaganda but if you try your own personal propaganda and are caught then your reputation is destroyed and humans will start to avoid you as much as possible and you will be ostracized from their circle of friends.

Politics, religion, social groups, and many advertisers are guilty of propaganda which has claims of superiority that are frequently just not totally true if analyzed for factual realities. We unfortunately live in a world saturated with propaganda or filled with many myths, lies, and deceptions. The truth is frequently not pleasant to hear so propaganda reigns supreme in much human activity.

I understand why propaganda is so dominant and popular in society but that still does not discourage me from fighting against propaganda in all its forms and shapes with the truth.

THE TRUTH ABOUT MISERY

Misery: n. sensing intense unpleasantness and enduring a very bad circumstance(s) and/or enduring a very bad mental subset(s) and/or experiencing enduring intense pain(s)

There is the misery of overwhelming debt, the misery of grinding poverty, the misery of being in a shelter after a hurricane disaster, and the misery of suffering with chronic pain. Enduring long duration discomfort or very bad circumstances can cause much misery in a human’s life.

If you are impoverished and uneducated in some third world countries then your misery may be permanent but for most of us in western society if you are miserable then chances are you can do something about it on your own or with the help of good friends, relatives, or competent therapists of which there are very few.

Misery loves company and if you are associating with other miserable humans then you may never get out of your miserable circumstances. Read inspiring articles or learn new skills and knowledge which will improve your life in the long duration. Volunteer, join clubs, or surf the internet for new or better friends and improve your social life if you have none or have a bad social life.

Misery can ruin your mental and even physical health in the long duration so try not to remain miserable for very long and use self-discipline and a little imagination to get out of your bad circumstances.

If you are in chronic pain and eating organic and moderate exercise does not solve the problem then you may have to live with your misery and take pain killing medicine for the rest of your life. To motivate you remember that if you feel miserable there are probably millions of more miserable humans than you still surviving and trying to live from one day to the next.

If you don’t believe that there are more miserable humans than you then just think of the blind, deaf,  dumb, or incarcerated for life who are surviving on a day to day basis and still surviving. If you still have your health then you really have no excuse for being miserable!!!!!! Lose your self-pity and live on happily.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR A BUSINESS INTERVIEW

Most of this article is a rewrite of the main ideas in Brian Junyor’s article 21 SECRETS TO NAILING A BUISINESS INTERVIEW.

RESEARCH THE BUSINESS:

Find out how the business makes money, how much it makes, it’s competitors, mission statement, if it has been in the news and how that might affect you, and read all the info on the business website and social media.

When asked about why you want to join the business you can answer with impressive facts showing that you took the time out to research and understand the purpose of the successful business and how it wants to or is treating its customers.

DRESS IN BUSINESS ATTIRE OR CLEAN, NEAT, RELATIVELY CONSERVATIVE CASUAL WEAR FOR LOW LEVEL JOBS:

Blue and black are preferred colors and bright neon colors the worst, a business suit is preferable unless it is an interview for a minimum wage job with little upward mobility, don’t use perfume or cologne which may offend the interviewer, and arrive to the job interview about 10 or 15 minutes early and check your appearance in the restroom if there is one.

BE PREPARED TO ASK A FEW QUESTIONS ABOUT THE JOB:

What are the most important responsibilities of the job?

Is there opportunity for advancement?

What are the future plans of the business?

Will I be managing others and if so how many?

Is there any on the job training?

INTERVIEW ETIQUETTE:

Address your interviewer by name and don’t put on a phony smile but do try to smile during the introduction or greeting.

If you firmly shake hands up and down once or twice is enough.

Maintain eye contact and sit up straight.

Talk about the accomplishments which will help you in the performance of the job and explain what you learned from your past mistakes if anything.

Don’t cross your legs or fold your arms, don’t joke or talk about non job related topics, especially politics, religion, or sports.

Never complain about a previous job or company unless there was no room for advancement. Then you can complain about that and use it as a reason for changing jobs if asked.

Avoid slang words and clichés, think before you speak, and try to make your answers brief without droning on too long.

BE PREPARED TO ANSWER THE MOST COMMON INTERVIEW QUESTIONS:

Why do you want to work here?

Answer that you enjoy working hard as office help, sales help, manager, technical, etc. and being a member of a successful business with hopefully some job security.

What are your strengths?

I do my work in a timely fashion, am punctual, I learn new skills which I may need quickly, I get along well with bosses and coworkers, and enjoy a hard working friendly atmosphere.

Tell me about yourself?

I want a good challenging job which will eventually pay well so that I can afford to spend money on my outside interests which may be a favorite car, apartment, house, girl or boyfriend, wife, children, and hobbies.

You can stress that if you come from a large family that you enjoy interacting with humans and understand where they are coming from most of the time.

AFTER AND NEAR THE END OF THE INTERVIEW:

Before leaving the interview ask for a business card and ask about how long it will be before a hiring decision is made.

Follow up on your interview and write them a thank you note or email thanking them for taking the time out of their day to interview you.

After waiting the time mentioned to make a hiring decision check back to see if you have been hired or when their next job opening will probably be.

If it is a low level job in a service station at minimum wage then you can check back more than once or about three times during a six month application period and then apply again and fill out a new application form. Sometimes persistence, showing that you really want the job, and talking to the manager more than once pays off and you might get lucky if it is during a time when an employee is leaving or has left.

RESEARCH JOB INTERVIEWS ON THE INTERNET:

There are plenty more questions and answers which may occur during a job interview. If you really want to prepare, not be too spontaneous, and maybe not make some terrible interview mistakes then Google or Bing job interviews and meticulously try to prepare yourself for almost any eventuality.
