Suggestion: n. presented for consideration and done for acceptance and/or rejection

Most suggestions are either rejected or accepted and implemented if you are fortunate. There are circumstances where a suggestion may only be partially accepted or it may be the trigger for a better idea which is then acted on.

Suggestion boxes are common but it is rather rare for companies to actually seriously consider all the suggestions which may frequently run opposite to company operating procedure.

In relationships if you don’t want to be bossy and demand something or it is not that urgent then a suggestion is frequently accepted more readily than an actual order or demand. This is because a human frequently does not automatically switch to a defensive mode of thinking if they feel they are not being bossed around.
