Rejection: n. legally refusing a subset(s) which may not be a personal refusal
Refusing is basically saying no to something and a rejection is frequently saying no to an idea or a legal application or contract which is offered or requested.
Saying no to a marriage proposal because of its legal implications can be thought of as a rejection but saying no to a date is frequently a refusal to date even though we may also feel that we were rejected by the opposite sex. Humans usually refuse to do things which they don’t want to do and they don’t reject to do things which they don’t want to do.
Rejecting is a subset of refusing which is basically saying no to something.
