How frequently have you asked? Verify this for me. In effect you want to find out if what you were told is true, accurate, and even justified so that you can proceed with your own decision about the matter or act accordingly.
An official stamp is also frequently used to verify that the contents of paperwork or documents are true, accurate, and justified. This is sometimes called a seal of approval which at minimum may merely be a signature from a reputable human official.
