Tight: adj. placing two or more subsets together with pressure between the subsets but no pressure between some of the subsets
Very tight means considerable pressure between two surfaces but even here there may be parts of the surfaces which experience no pressure between them. Uniformly tight would be implying that the pressure is relatively constant between the two surfaces.
