If you are social then you probably enjoy interacting with other humans on a personal basis or as a group activity. Social humans are attracted to others who share common goals and activities but frequently have their own personal preferences and follow their own relatively unimportant goals.
Being social to some degree in life is one of the keys to a successful life and without some human interaction your life becomes rather boring, reclusive, and separated from reality with all the potential benefits which participation can bring.
Social media is a relatively new way to communicate with humans around the world and offers the potential for some very interesting global relationship activities not traditionally available to humans.
