Pure: adj. a complete set without a subset(s) not originally classified with that set and frequently not needed
Pure water, pure gold, or a pure chemical is usually 100% water, 100% gold, or 100% that chemical. Even standards for gold are not truely pure because it is only 99.99 % pure in many cases and there are some pollutants or minute traces of other chemicals in any real pure thing which are added during the unpure manufacturing process.
Human characteristics are never pure because no human is perfect and exhibits a characteristic 100% of the time. Pure love, pure hatred, pure joy, pure goodness, and pure friendship do not exist and the word pure should not be used.
