Offer: n. a subset(s) which is shown for voluntary acceptance and/or rejection and/or communicated for voluntary acceptance and/or rejection

It is easy to confuse an offer with a request or a command because the human making the offer would frequently love to command you to take the offer or would like to bluntly request that you accept the offer.

The impulse to say “buy or do it” or “I would like you to buy or do it” is very strong and saying “would you like to buy or do it?” is something which doesn’t come naturally.

Control freaks prefer to command and request and seldom make offers which implies voluntary agreement from you.
