Business lending is frequently a money paying privilege and you can even barter something for a lent item.
Lending a tool or item to a friend or neighbor is a favor which you perhaps hope will be reciprocated when you need to borrow something from them temporarily at some point in the future.
Lending for profit is different from lending to do a favor. Assumed is the obligation to repair or replace the lent item if it is broken or damaged by a friend, neighbor, or acquaintance if it is a favor.
