Ingredients: n. the subsets of a (meal(s) and/or food product(s)) and/or drink(s)
What is in a meal or a food product are the ingredients and many are natural to some degree but there are frequently also many unnatural ingredients in heavily processed meals and or food products. Artificial additives are especially notorious for being added and later found to have adverse effects on health in the long duration.
Truth in advertising or truth in ingredients is still an ongoing battle in some areas where labeling all the ingredients would lead to many cheap knockoff products or imitations.
In the case of bad reputation GMO’s there is actually lobbied US government legislation which protects companies from having to disclose that GMO’s exist as a total or partial ingredient.
Labelling every ingredient should be a necessary obligation of all food companies so that customers can make wise choices when it comes to consuming food and drink.
