Distrust: v. to have minimal confidence that one will not be (disappointed and/or defrauded) and/or (stolen from and/or deceived) and/or lied to by another

Why do we generally distrust humans? It is probably because we don’t want to be disappointed again, defrauded, victimized, deceived again, and lied to again. We generally do not distrust honest, sincere, dependable, competent, and friendly humans and if they give us signs of being something else then we start to distrust them and fear that they will injure us in some way materially and/or mentally.

The most serious distrust comes from being lied to, stolen from, or cheated on sexually in a marriage called adultery and relationships are usually doomed if any of the three moral transgressions happen.
