Dispute: v. to intensely argue and/or discuss which is frequently about an important subset(s) with an opposing claim(s) and/or allegation(s)

A dispute can arise if a neighbor’s tree branch infringes on your property, if a neighbor is too loud after 10 PM, or if your son is a bully and assaults other offspring.

There are more serious disputes such as who was at fault in a car accident, physical assault, who defrauded you out of much money. or there is patent or copyright infringement.

In most cases disputes originate from right’s violations where on side claims or alleges wrong doing and the other side does not agree. Opposing claims and/or allegations are often settled out of court but sometimes the dispute does end up in court with witnesses, expert testimony, and investigated facts being presented to a jury for judgment to settle the dispute legally.
