If you are guilty of disobeying a rule(s) and/or are inadequately qualified then you can be removed from (office and/or authority) and/or an event(s).

You can be disqualified for doping in sports competitions and disqualified from political office for fraud. You can be disqualified from a professorship if they find out that you fraudulently lied about you academic history.

Disqualifications are often the reasons that you get fired from a job or position of authority.
