Alienation assumes that once you were not alienated or separated from a subset(s) which you were formerly attracted to. If you are simply not attracted to something from the start then you can’t claim alienation.
Alienation of affection is frequently used to describe the end of a relationship and an end to any affectionate feelings or emotions which you may have had in the past towards the relationship human(s).
