Campaign: v. to work for and/or pursue a goal(s) which is frequently a political and/or social goal(s) with an organized group of humans
Many campaigns are political and for charitable causes but if you try to get community support to modernize the police department then that too can be considered to be a campaign if you are not doing it on your own but have help.
