Prevalent: adj. being endemic for a relatively short duration

Prevalent should really be a subset of endemic where the relatively short duration is what determines its usage. It is therefore accurate to say that beer drinking is prevalent in Nascar races, drug usage is prevalent in many metal rock concerts, profanity is prevalent in many comedy clubs, many northern birds are prevalent in the south during the winter, and littering is prevalent in many outdoor public gatherings but it would be an inaccurate usage if you were to say that kangaroos are prevalent in Australia. It is more accurate to say that kangaroos are endemic in Australia.
