Insipid: adj. absence of pleasant distinctiveness in a subset(s)

An insipid subset(s) is one which isn’t distinct and does not evoke a pleasant feeling. A tasteless drink or food, an uninteresting painting, boring music, verbose and uninformative article, and an uninspiring event are all ways of describing an insipid subset which has no pleasant distinctive emotional appeal and can be classified as just another run of the mill, to better be ignored or avoided experience.

Insipid is a somewhat subjective and personally biased word because if something is not pleasant to you it still may be pleasant to someone else with less experience with the world or with a radically different experience than your own. Not everyone finds the same things boring or uninteresting and devoid of pleasant feelings.
