Frivolous: adj. being of minimal value and wasting time and energy and effort

Frivolity in young offspring is sometimes considered cute and amusing and even though some adults behave frivolously as a form of relaxation most adults are not seriously entertained or informed by frivolous behavior in others. Frivolous behavior and things are not only of minimal value but are usually very stupid and purposeless and a greater waste of time, energy, and effort than trivia. Frivolity has much less value than trivia which is at least an acceptable form of entertainment or way to relax for some.

A frivolous book or communication is just not worth reading or viewing.

Examples of frivolous lawsuits are someone trying to sue another for wearing ugly outfits  in public or trying to sue a restaurant for serving cold coffee.
