GOOD BEHAVIOR, HABITS, OR TRAITS!!!

Most of us have at least a handful of bad behaviors which need improvement and it is often hard to lose them because they have become bad habits or bad traits. One way to eliminate bad habits is to quit cold turkey and not do them anymore but for most of us replacing them more and more with good behaviors or good habits is the practical way to go.

There are good behaviors and good habits which exist almost on a daily basis and these are more important than the good behaviors or habits which are displayed less frequently or only on special occasions.

Almost daily good behaviors or habits are:

Eat healthy organic food and drink as much as possible.

Exercise or move around enough.

Get plenty of sleep.

Work hard and smart.

Be trustworthy.

Being trustworthy is the most important thing in human relationships. Trust is the bond which keeps good relationships going. Without trust there is no relationship or a very dysfunctional one. Trustworthiness is having integrity or being honest and morally or ethically sound, being dependable, and competent. Trust in a human,  product, or service is the source of loyalty which many want and can appreciate.

Be dependable and punctual.

Being predictably dependable or reliable is important because trust begins to decline if a human can’t depend on you to be punctual, fulfill given promises, and behave in a generally predictable fashion. If someone can’t depend on you to do a good job in a timely way or fulfill a promise in a timely way then you are not very trustworthy due mainly to incompetence. Being trustworthy means having integrity or being honest, being moral or ethical, being competent, and being dependable. You definitely don’t want to have an untrustworthy reputation which is often gotten by lying or being pretentious.

Have integrity or be honest and moral or ethical.

Humans with integrity can often be trusted because they are honest and moral or ethical. Yes, being dependable and competent is also very important in developing trusting relationships and enhances your integrity.

Be disciplined or organized

Being disciplined and organized is a sign of behavioral competence which is very important for personal improvement and being respected for being a together human who is responsible for her or his behavior. Being disciplined and organized is especially important in the workplace where proper scheduling, prioritizing of tasks, and timely completion is so important.

These good behaviors or habits are especially important when interacting with others which may be on a daily basis or far less frequently:

Be loyal and fair.

Loyalty is a devotion to a human, organization, cause, product, or service and it is considered an admirable trait if the human, organization, or cause is not an immoral one. Loyalty usually means getting supported and not being stabbed in the back unless it is deserved for bad or immoral behavior. Loyalty is also inspired by being fair or giving credit where credit is due and sharing the rewards and punishments on the road to successful cooperation and achievement.

Be encouraging, cheerful, optimistic, and compliment.

The above all reflect a positive considerate attitude which is a great help when trying to motivate other humans to do well or behave well.

Be enthusiastic and energetic.

Enthusiasm and energy are contagious and humans who have it have more of an impact on another’s behavior.

Be sincere, polite, and respectful.

Being sincere, polite, and respectful is the best approach when interacting with strangers. It is also usually the best approach when confronting bad behavior which can’t be changed or avoided and is a way of keeping your cool under undesirable bad pressure or circumstance.

Be helpful and considerate where appropriate.

Some humans occasionally need help and consideration so if you are not too busy then offer that help or consideration which may just be a suggestion or a bit of friendly advice. Be careful to not be overly generous with your help or consideration because some will come to always expect it from you and they may become a demanding burdensome responsibility.

Be responsible and fulfill promises.

Do your best but own up to your mistakes if you make any and be responsible or accountable. Fulfilling promises is also a sign of being responsible for the promises that you make to other humans who are depending on the fulfillment of those promises. If you don’t fulfill a promise then it feels like you have lied about a promised future behavior and that can begin destroying a trusting relationship.

Be caring and empathetic.

Being caring and empathetic is very important in family life but if you are a boss or leader then some caring and empathy are also important towards your workers since it makes them seem important in your life.

Be kind, considerate, and compassionate.

This is very important when dealing with bad behavior in children, especially when they make unintentional mistakes in life. Your spouse will also appreciate a kind, considerate, and compassionate attitude and behavior since it is a very important part of loving behavior.

Be cooperative and forgiving where appropriate.

This is very important in human interactions, especially when cooperation leads to problems or unintentional mistakes which need forgiving to avoid intense arguments or disagreements. The forgiving may be conditional upon a promise not to make the same mistake again or a promise to do better the next time around.

Be brave, persistent, dedicated, and patient.

Being brave or courageous and continuing despite frustrations and obstacles in your path is important. A worthwhile struggle will often pay off with persistent, dedicated, and patient continuation.

Be responsible and confident.

Being responsible or accountable for your behavior is important and maintaining confidence despite a plethora of drawbacks is a positive sign of seldom giving up if the cause or task is worthwhile doing and doing well.

Apologize where appropriate.

One of the hardest things to do, especially if you are in a leadership position, is to admit that you did something wrong, behaved badly, or hurt someone’s feelings. An apology may be appropriate but even more important is taking steps so that the mistake or bad behavior will not happen again.

Playfulness and humor.

Playfulness and humor can be entertaining in family life and in interactions with close friends. In the workplace some will not get your humor and playfulness conveys a non serious attitude which is often not conducive to a good working environment.

Be a good careful listener.

No one is a know it all so careful listening is important in any conversation. You must know what is being spoken and even better is knowing the frame of reference from which the conversation is coming. Listening well and asking appropriate questions can be a learning experience, so don’t be too anxious to convey your own opinions or beliefs and perhaps responding inappropriately to a conversation. Yes, interruptions or trying to change the subject is acceptable if the conversation is getting too boring or seems to be off topic or going nowhere important.

Tolerance

There is tolerance for different behaviors and different opinions and beliefs which is personally good and good for society. Then there is tolerance for bad behavior and immoral or unethical behavior which is bad for family life and bad for society in general.

Teamwork

Most of us interact socially so cooperative teamwork is not only important in family life but is also important in the workplace. Failure of one individual usually impacts the success of others so everyone working towards common goals responsibly is the key to organizational and family success.

Mentioning traits is one approach to being aware of which ones you display more often but to really understand good traits or good habits you have to read about and make a list of the details or examples of a good trait or good habit. What exactly does it mean to have caring, empathetic, kind, compassionate, considerate, cooperative, sincere, complimenting, and polite traits or good habits? Do your own research by inputting the words followed by list or examples into a search engine and find out a list of behaviors or examples of behaviors which represent each trait category. The more examples of traits that you have on hand, the more successful you will be in incorporating those good examples into your own behavior in the long duration.

Awareness of what your good habits or good traits is important but just as important is an awareness of your bad habits or bad traits. Research examples of bad habits such as severe criticizing, gossiping too much, being pretentious, and talking too much. Other examples of bad traits are arrogance, quarrelsomeness, laziness, stinginess, unhealthy eating and drinking, addiction to drugs, gambling, and pornography, gluttony, excessive pride, promiscuity, etc. which should be mainly eliminated or reduced to a minimum to enhance self esteem and improve your reputation among others.

The road to self improvement starts with knowing thyself. So start out by listing all the good and bad habits that you have and then take actions or realistic steps to improve yourself for a better life for yourself and others who will benefit by your good example or role model.

THE TRUTH ABOUT AFFECTION+

Affection-is-responsible-for-nine-tenths-of-whatever-solid-and-durable-happiness-there-is-in-out-lives

Affection: n. sensing medium intensity pleasure for a subset(s) one cares about and the behavior(s) which exists with it

When you show affection it is usually sensing a medium intensity pleasure for

A subset(s) that you care about and all the behaviors associated with showing that affection including physical gestures and words used.

Any truly loving relationship in the traditional sense of the word means that there are many affectionate and liking behaviors and emotions which are also being done. Love which realistically is a very intense emotion is not always present all the time in an ongoing “loving” relationship which has some emotional highs but mostly moderate emotions or feelings are felt on a day to day ongoing basis.

THE TRUTH ABOUT EXPRESSION*

Expression: n. communicating with a (word(s) and/or a behavior(s)) and/or (loudness and/or frequency) variation(s)  and frequently showing (what one is sensing and/or what opinion one has) about a subset(s)

Screaming or just a sound is an expression in the most limiting sense. Most expressions use more than one word and/or behavior and/or sound.

Express yourself or do your thing basically means one and the same thing and is frequently a way of showing how you feel about something and/or your opinion about something.

Facial expressions are important ways of showing sadness, anger, happiness, dislike, fear, amazement, etc. and someone good at reading facial expressions can often sense how one is feeling at the moment.

THE TRUTH ABOUT FOLLOW*

Follow: v. to try to simulate the same behavior(s) as another

Follow a leader and you can have much fun and even learn something new and useful. Follow an unruly motorcycle gang and you can get in trouble with the law.

Following good or bad advice can lead to pleasant or unpleasant experiences and it is sometimes difficult to differentiate the good advice from the bad, especially if you are interacting with an immoral crowd of humans.

Role models to follow or imitate are very important in life and if you chose too many bad ones then you will end up leading a troubled sometimes miserable life.

THE TRUTH ABOUT LEGALITY*

rsz_legal-and-illegal-options-with-legal-circled-960x645

Legality: n. a behavior(s) and/or subset(s) permitted by law including all the implied permitted social behaviors which are not recorded and may be done

There are legal things which you can do according to law, there are legal public things which you can do and not get punished because they are acceptable public norms but not written into official laws, and there are legal things which you can do in the privacy of your own home or on your personal property.

Criminal and violent or abusive behavior in private is theoretically illegal but is sometimes hard to prosecute without probable cause or evidence of the illegality.

With so many unjust laws on the books you are probably involved in doing something illegal without even knowing it or doing so because the law is so unjust in your personal opinion that it deserves to be disobeyed.

It is theoretically illegal to discriminate against women on the job and illegal to discriminate on the basis of sex, race, religion, and handicap but it is subtly being done all the time since humans are impulsive creatures conditioned by past experience, beliefs, and prejudicial views which are held by almost everyone to some degree because of the herd instinct in all of us.

Historical prejudices die hard and most make decisions based on stereotypic beliefs about human types. They are quick to stereotype humans into preconceived impulsive categories. Caution based on fear of the unknown and difference persists and humans tend to shy away or try to avoid certain stereotypic humans based merely on looks and behavioral quirks.

It’s illegal to discriminate but the truth is that we do out of necessity discriminate between humans based on looks and behavior alone in an impulsive way and seldom give enough time to many humans to prove themselves to be worthy of our attention and respect.

THE TRUTH ABOUT MOOD+

Mood_Studios_Logo

Mood: n. a relatively temporary generalized mental process and the behaviors which accompanying it which is emotional and/or attitudinal and/or thoughtful and sometimes shared by two or more humans

A mood is really a temporary state of mind or a generalized mental process and the behaviors which accompany it.

A solemn mood, happy mood, and angry mood all mostly refer to a temporary emotional state with corresponding behavioral actions.

A contemplative mood, thoughtful mood, and reasoning mood all mostly refer to a temporary thinking process.

An aggressive mood, a flamboyant mood, a passive mood, and a challenging mood all mostly refer to a temporary attitude with corresponding behavioral actions.

A violent, condemning, aggressive mood could be called an abusive mood.

Mixing up emotions, attitudes, and thought processes in the short duration results in a generalized mood which is also affected by your temperament and/or personality.

Humans in a group can also share a similar mood so you can ask -what was the mood of the crowd?

THE TRUTH ABOUT PAIN+

turmeric-for-pain

Pain: n. a bad intense mental sensation which originates from an injured body subset(s) and the behaviors which exist with it

Physical pain is obvious but many humans speak of mental pain which is really a form of mental suffering or distress rather than actual physical pain itself.

Chronic physical pain is perhaps one of the worst fates which one has to live with and even though this is a large problem in old age for many, some accident victims also have to live with lifelong pain.

The unfortunate thing is that humans tend to self medicate with pain killing pills and don’t correct the source of the pain which is the proper approach to curing pain related ills. Pain is your body telling you that you are mistreating it.

Bad posture, mental stress, back breaking physical work, accidents, stomach pain, absence of exercise, dental work, etc. are all sources of pain and most resort to pain killers to get instant but not permanent relief.

“Pain in the butt” and “pain in the neck” are really slang expressions indicating mental suffering and the corresponding behavior distress and not actual physical pain.

Inconspicuous: adj. minimally attracting attention with appearance and/or behaviors

If you want to be inconspicuous in appearance then you want to dress a normative way and not surround yourself with expensive or unique possessions. If you want to be largely ignored then your behavior to be inconspicuous should be modest, humble, and emotionally subdued.

Inconspicuous individuals are just another face in the crowd and outside the crowd they are mundane in appearance and/or behaviors.

Selfindulgence: n. mostly impulsive personal selfish behaviors

Live for today and do only what you like are examples of extreme selfindulgent behavior.

THE TRUTH ABOUT SELLING+

selling

Sell: v. to take money for giving possession of one or more subsets which may be ingus and/or behaviors

Selling ingus or information and/or goods and/or services is what most humans understand but it is also possible to sell behaviors. Think of anything which you can do or any behavior and you could probably sell it to someone even though it may just be your parents or close relatives and friends.

Mom or dad. Will you give me 10 dollars for doing 40 pushups? I can only do 30 now. Will you give me 5 dollars for memorizing the words to your favorite song?

Money can’t buy everything such as good genes, a good personality, good relationships, or restore wilderness once it is destroyed. However, with money you can buy the services of humans with good genes, good personalities, good social connections, and you can conserve and restore wilderness which isn’t totally destroyed.

THE TRUTH ABOUT SUBDUE+

the_supreme_art_of-94976Subdue: v. to limit and/or control a human(s) behaviors and/or emotions to peaceful and/or reasoning subsets

The whole history of humanity has been trying to subdue the emotional and physical beast with which each generation is born. History repeats itself because subduing human nature with laws, rules, and force is a struggle which begins anew with each born generation.

Peaceful coexistence and reasoned behavior is what the world desperately needs and has so little of. Archaic language steeped in violent emotion and illogical communication is largely to blame. Language has to change if humanity is to live more peacefully together with more logical reasoned choices being made.

I have tried to revolutionize language with new logical definitions and a minimum of emotional expression with SCIENTIFIC THESAURUS and my evergreen truth blog. Enjoy!!!!!!

THE TRUTH ABOUT SYNDROME+

Down-syndrome-Genes

Syndrome: n. a collection of behaviors and/or symptoms which exist simultaneously and/or in sequence and are indicators of a deviant personality(s) and/or a (brain and/or genetic) illness(s)

Munchausen syndrome is an example of deviant behavior where a human pretends to have physical or psychological illnesses which they don’t really have. It is thought that the reasons for pretending illness is a desire to avoid responsibility, a desire to profit financially, a desire to improve his or her physical condition, or a desire to get some other benefit which may simply be attention or sympathy from others.

Down’s syndrome is a genetic illness so all genetic illnesses could also be considered to be syndromes.

Psychological disorders are really subsets of syndromes so they can all be called syndromes.

Syndromes are many and are named but there are plenty of deviant personality and mental disorders which do not have a syndrome designation but could in fact be called a syndrome.

THE TRUTH ABOUT UNDISCIPLINE*

Quotation-Stephen-Richards-life-mind-Meetville-Quotes-46297

Undiscipline: v. to use inadequate selfcontrol and/or disobeying many good and/or righta behaviors and/or rules

Undisciplined offspring can be a nightmare. They have little selfcontrol and disobey many good behavior norms frequently being rude, inconsiderate, using bad language, and sometimes have radically different tastes in clothing and makeup.

Undisciplined offspring is one of the major reasons why education is so bad in poor neighborhoods. Disruptive or undisciplined behavior in class does not lead to a very good learning environment for the rest of the offspring and it is a perennial problem for teachers who are forced to live with the disruptive learning environment.

THE TRUTH ABOUT PREPONDERANCE OF EVIDENCE*

evidence

Preponderance of evidence or POE: n. a judgment by a jury and/or judge without trial on a dispute in favor of one(s) disputant(s) based on reputable persuasive probable cause evidence from a human(s) rather than from a relatively large quantity of disreputable and/or unpersuasive humans testifying in a (vague and/or confusing) and/or lying manner

Preponderance of evidence is frequently used in civil cases but there is no reason why a preponderance of the evidence could not also be used in an attempt to persuade a jury during a jury trial by claiming to have the preponderance of the evidence on your side. My side is reputable and persuasive with many facts on our side. The other side is filled with disreputable and unpersuasive humans with few facts who have testified in vague, confusing, and seemingly lying manners. Criminal or civil trials should have the same basic foundational principles for justice to prevail in most cases.

THE TRUTH ABOUT SELFCONTROL***

self-control-med

Selfcontrol: n. mental control of one’s own (desires and/or emotions) and/or behaviors

Most of us react impulsively much of the time and we have some conscious control over our behaviors, less control over our emotions, and even less control over our desires.

Psychologists may object to my definition because there has been a historical artificial separation of mind and body or desires and emotions versus behaviors. The fact is that you can have mental control over all three and an artificial separation of mind and body behaviors is not factually correct because body behaviors include the functioning of the mind!!!!!! Trash all those historical writings which assume a mind vs. body philosophy!

Someone with much selfcontrol is less impulsive than the average human and even occasionally takes some time out to think before they react to circumstances.

Young offspring are very impulsive and will do many things which adults have learned not to do for safety or social reasons. Offspring tend to be more reckless and honest and will blurt out comments about appearance and behavior which may seem a little offensive to some adults. That is an ugly dress, you are fat, or you’re mean are sometimes honest remarks made by offspring which offend adult sensibilities.

If you are unhappy about your lifestyle chances are that you will make rather few changes unless there is a crisis because you are in a relatively satisfying rut always taking the easy way out without much selfdiscipline or the selfcontrol needed to make changes and do something about your bad circumstances.

If your behavior is largely influenced by the behavior of others, if you are not conscious of your good or bad habits, if you frequently get angry and get into arguments, then chances are great that you also have little selfcontrol over your own life.

If you want more selfcontrol in your life then you have to take some time out to meditate and think about how your life is progressing and what if anything can be done to improve upon it. Too many are tired of trying to improve their lives because they have not met with much success but too much failure and decide to accept their fate or circumstances.

If you are not learning any new useful skills or new useful knowledge and feel that you know enough about the world to make it through another day then the probability is great that you will never develop enough selfcontrol to really thrive and not just exist.

Are you conscious of or have you thought about or analyzed almost all your desires, emotions, and behaviors? If not then the probability is great that you have little if any personal control over them.

THE TRUTH ABOUT REEDUCATION***

PowerOfReEducationPollenThumb

Reeducation: n. adding important information and/or behaviors to a lifeform(s) and/or subtracting important information and/or behaviors from a lifeform(s) to change a bad and/or old habit(s)

In the fast changing technological 21st century it seems that reeducation will become a standard norm if you don’t want to become obsolete in your job.

If you are smart then your will continue to reeducate yourself throughout a lifetime trying to improve in your behavior and understanding of the world around you. This frequently means acquiring new skills and knowledge and applying as much of it to your life as possible.

Reeducation is a constant growth process where you hopefully get smarter and not stupider as you age.
