Ideologically the establishment media seems to have a monopoly on the news and academia but fewer and fewer are reading newspapers and magazines and fewer and fewer are viewing cable news and TV in general. Even though on the surface it seems scary that opposing views, especially conservative ones, are being greatly censored the actual impact of establishment media on the public is on a rapid decline. The actual viewership of hour programs on a daily basis is often less than 1% of the population of the United States.
Humans are simply bored with repetitive pablum that repeats itself every hour and every day with the same boring themes. Investigative reporting and impartial analysis of newsworthy topics is practically nonexistent. Polls are unreliable and frankly they don’t change much from week to week or for that matter from year to year.
The establishment media which has tried sensational tabloid press techniques for over 2 years is in a downward slide both economically and viewership wise. They frankly don’t know what to do to attract new customers who are more involved with personal social media and texting on mundane topics. It can factually be stated that mass media for all practical purposes is dead and the ability to influence the minds of potential and existent customers in a massive way is no longer possible nor will it be possible in the near future.
The internet started to democratize information access to the point where the great freedom resulted in plagiarized music, movies, books, news, and pictures. So much freedom also resulted in hacked websites, scam artists, company clientele info stolen, etc. to the point where fake information, fake news, and fake reviews began to dim the line between truth and fiction so that few really fully trust the internet and media in the modern age.
Big tech which is interested in the bottom line gave priority exposure to big money corporations and big money media but it’s attempts at censorship to a large extent are futile and just makes the internet less interesting to surf.
I point this all out to make a very general statement and that is that trust in the media, in politicians, in celebrities, in academia, in leaders of the deep state, and elsewhere has suffered a severe blow. Once trust is lost and deception and lying have become the norm then regaining that trust is a long arduous task which has a large probability of not succeeding. Once trust is lost your reputation and integrity is in the gutter. It is almost impossible to regain a good reputation again.
In conclusion, the establishment media only seems to have a monopoly on news and information but the real impact on the public is small and decreasing with each passing day. The traditional establishment mass media could form a consensus of opinion and brainwash the public to go along. Those days of the power to influence most minds is declining fast.

Did you ever notice how hard it is to share posts with other tech sites like Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, Minds, etc.?
If you try to share a post chances are good that you will not be able to do so thanks to the new big tech censorship. I therefore predict that fewer and fewer humans will utilize big tech for their creative output and big tech will mostly become a wasteland of mediocrity. Fake information and fake news is probably the major factor in neutering the internet and the cause for the sharing paranoia.
First I couldn’t share my blog posts with Facebook, then Twitter, most of Reddit, and Quora also no longer posts to Facebook and Twitter. About the only big tech firms which still accept posts is Pinterest and I expect this to be discontinued in the near future.
Google is also censoring websites and web content via its encrypted format and sometimes it just posts a statement saying the website is not secure. Pretty soon I predict the internet will only be used by registered humans who have been vetted for honesty without a criminal record and new websites similarly will have to go through a universal vetting procedure to minimize fraud and other forms of criminality including political incorrectness. It will be the age of moral free speech and not any and all free speech which has decimated trust in the internet and its publications.

When the internet started out there was optimal freedom and it seems that you could even call it the days of the Wild Wild West. It seemed that anyone could join, create a website, and get lots of free information from it such as pictures, music, videos, and articles. Plagiarism was rampant and intellectual property was stolen on a regular basis.
Then the shit hit the fan and immoral behavior soon lead to unscrupulous malicious humans or hackers and bots infecting computers with malware, viruses, Trojans, pop up ads, and phishing scams. Today online scams continue along with an abundance of fake information, fake news, and much abusive language. Hackers invade business and government websites and get much customer information such as passwords, social security numbers, bank account numbers, and other relatively private information.
To try to exclude online criminals from stealing your information there are attempts at verifying valid users and using sophisticated encryption techniques to safeguard your information. Big tech is trying to censor the information that is available to you and doing so with algorithms which try to censor out “disreputable” users, websites, and those with radical or conservative political views.
Unfortunately computer algorithms are not good at censoring satire and comedy routines so many users are censored for no good reason whatsoever and there is often no ability to appeal the censorship and get your grievances redressed.
Money is the bottom line and many websites are now charging customers to use them or post articles. Information too is being sold and not given as freely. Marketing your information is becoming mission impossible unless you have a huge advertising budget. So the internet is favoring the rich and powerful organizations and if you are a creative individual composing useful information to publish, the chances are minimal that you will quickly get a boatload of interested followers or customers on the internet.
The internet is imprisoning individuals into small groups of mostly humans that you know and if you want to reach a wider audience then the odds are stacked against you. The rich and famous can get their message across but if you are a nobody starting off, you will probably not succeed in promoting your message to an audience larger than your immediate group of friends.
The truth is that to have a smoothly functioning internet you really have to admit moral humans and try to exclude the immoral or criminal types and no computer algorithm is capable of doing so reliably. The situation is so bad and distrust so great that information is no longer being shared across websites such as wordpress.com, minds.com, Facebook, and Reddit to some extent. Private website information seldom flows freely to other websites and search engines such as Google in the encrypted mode no longer post images originating from your private website.
It seems that Google no longer wants to trust you and your information if you are not rich and powerful. Major websites try to deplatform you if you are considered too controversial. If you are a website promoting free speech and expression then big money transfer organizations such as Paypal etc. will censor you and stop serving you. If you are rich and powerful then you get to the front of the line. If you have little money then it is almost guaranteed that you will be censored or discriminated against.
In principle the internet information that you get should be reliable and trustworthy. In reality that means that what you often get is fake news from rich establishment organizations and advertisements from rich companies with money clout. The internet is very poor at separating fact from fiction so just censorship with fair treatment for all is simply out of the question, especially if bots are doing the censorship.
An open source internet is quickly becoming a closed internet for the rich and powerful who are feeding you their propaganda whether you like it or not. A tyrannical internet is becoming a reality and not so much because of free speech running amok but because of fake speech and fake information trying to break into every nook and cranny of the internet. Will you be able to someday trust internet information? Not as long as internet bots do the censoring and the rich and powerful are given preferential treatment.
Solution? Patronize the websites which you consider trustworthy with your money and stay away from websites which try to screw you out of money or try to deceptively get your private information, as best you can.

It is no surprise that once the establishment media became the tabloid press almost all political discourse has become unprincipled gutter politics and not worthy of much attention. Fortunately there are alternate media sites which take much smart research. Unfortunately the days of investigative reporting and weeding out corruption is on the way out due to excessive cost and media shrinkage. Who will do the investigative reporting of the future? Probably only the well connected with an ax to grind for personal benefit.
That being said the globalists have merrily gone on to consolidate their international monetary dominance and are more powerful than ever. The more chaos in the world that there is the more there is the probability of making money from the chaos via the international banking system and international corporations. Unsolved is the Chinese, Russian, North Korean, Iranian, and other tyrant threats worldwide as the military industrial complex goes merrily about making money from munitions and defense systems. Nuclear proliferation is just another excuse to spur the development of new and better defensive systems and keep many nations on edge thinking that they too may have to be next at going nuclear for defensive reasons.
Google, Amazon, Facebook, Apple, etc. started in the United States but are now international global companies basically interested in the bottom line or profit internationally. United States morality and politics is no longer the overriding concern but global politics is definitely being catered to. National censorship primarily based on money is becoming standard procedure and many nations are beginning to imitate Chinese censorship principles.
If you have the money then you can probably travel to any country other than North Korea. The world is in secure rich hands and the globalists are laughing all the way to the bank as ordinary citizens in most of the world are living from paycheck to paycheck and hope with a lot of fear that their personal lives don’t crash and burn if a personal emergency befalls them. Globalist ideology must and will survive and it is not within the power of the average individual to do anything about this dire situation.
Historically the United States was the moral and political backbone of the world but unfortunately like all national empires it has morally and politically decayed rapidly and will not be the moral and political backbone for the future world.
The internet was fun while anyone could join at minimal expense. Due to fake news and fake information trust is becoming the overall consideration and Google is even considering the elimination of IP addresses. There goes my free website uldissprogis.com and possibly my freedom to roam the internet at will, collect information cheaply, and publish with one click. How long this enjoyed freedom will last is debatable but I have enjoyed every moment of it and hope that my internet freedom will last about 20 more years.
Ha! I doubt this. Google already has an encrypted format which censors my wildlife picture quotes on the internet. Yes. Internet life is beginning to suck a lot for me and I think that it will get a lot worse in the near future. Will I trust an almost trillion dollar company to do my internet censoring? Hell no! I will go elsewhere if that is still a possibility and Google will lose my patronage even more.

The constitution of the United States guarantees free speech but the reality is that in the extremes of free speech you have profanity, insults, name calling, put downs, humiliation, ridicule, lies, appeals to violence and fundamentally libelous and slanderous remarks. The expression of free speech has become too chaotic and undisciplined and frankly immoral in the form of fake information and news or in effect published lies or untruths.
In the early days of the republic most had a moral training from religion and the educational system. Most published writers and readers of the articles and books where relatively literate compared to the rest of the population and had a sense of what right and wrong was as far as communication was concerned. Today with an anything goes philosophy as far as free speech is concerned, free speech is now getting out of control to the detriment of the fabric of civil discourse publically and privately.
The leaders of tomorrow are no longer getting good moral training in the educational system. Instead there is primarily an emphasis on ideological purity or politically correct thinking and the ultimate result is and will be immoral leaders and followers and oppressive censorship of the internet or a tyranny of the mind and also body. Who can you trust if the leadership no longer has integrity and can’t serve as moral role models for the led? Yes, lying information and news must be censored but the leadership must also censor itself and expunge corrupt lying, stealing, deceptive leaders and humans from their ranks. Whether it is possible to create a moral leadership from a corrupt immoral one without a moral revival in the nation is debatable.
I am still optimistic about the future and have written extensively on a secular moral code which should be taught to all impressionable minds worldwide and have proposed educational reforms, welfare reforms, and constitutional reforms. I also have composed a logical English dictionary which should greatly reduce human emotional irrationality in the world. I am pessimistic about the destruction of biodiversity which is vital for future generations but fortunately I won’t live long enough to experience the radical extinctions which I foresee.
The globalists don’t really care what happens to any one nation and will rule the world with their financial clout no matter how much any individual nations will suffer. That said every future aspiring globalist should read my books and articles since I too am philosophically a globalist interested in improving humanity and conserving and even expanding wilderness real estate.

Even those who believe in pure freedom of speech will usually agree that libel and slanderous statements against private individuals should be censored and subject to legal enforcement for violations. No one should be in the business of destroying the good reputation of moral law abiding citizens.
Libelous and slanderous statements or lies against public officials and celebrities are deplorable, especially if they come from the establishment media. Even in public media the anything goes philosophy does not seem appropriate and some censorship is necessary. If the speech is moral then there should be no censorship of it. But who is going to define what moral free speech is and who can be trusted to enforce it?
Censorship by the powerful and monied class is especially corrosive when there is immorality in the leadership of entertainment, business, and political institutions. Powerful celebrities sometimes do practice sexual abuse and sometimes gender exploitation because they think they will get away with the behavior and whistleblowers are often ruthlessly financially destroyed or blacklisted for trying to divulge the corruption.
Criminal and fraudulent behavior and scams, child pornography, incitements to violently overthrow the government, terrorist recruiting, death threats on the internet, exposure of minors to very deviant violent sexual behavior or pornography, and trying to ruin the good reputation of an individual in the media with unproven libelous and slanderous videos are the major areas which definitely need censorship.
The internet and phone lines have been free for so long that criminals and scam artists are rampant and the security of phone lines is in jeopardy with “scam possible” messages on phone lines that don’t seem to go away. It actually is beginning to seem that scam artists are so powerful that freedom from them or exclusion of them from your home is becoming a losing battle.
I am not convinced that “hate” speech should be censored since there are so many things which humans can hate. There are individuals, ethnic groups, nations, criminal or immoral behavior, and illegal substances which some humans hate with a passion. Should this hate speech be censored too, and if so, to what degree? The borderline between “I don’t like a lot” and “I hate” is sometimes very broad and it is almost impossible to discriminate verbally between the two.
Who will censor this? Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Twitter, etc. will have to do this and yes, many may be unjustly censored, especially deviant political ideas and extremes, but the deviant ones should be able to go to other less well known websites and spew their radical views there. When the deviant websites begin to reach a much broader audience then they will have to censor their own websites too or their reputation will remain in the toilet.
Ultimately it is the youth of a nation which needs censorship from criminal, immoral, and deceptive practices. If the internet is going to be the primary source of information and entertainment then the internet will have to be censored as a public utility by someone. China is already censoring the internet to a large extent and I believe it is just a matter of time before the United States also is going to have to begin censoring the internet in a much more aggressive style than at present. Perhaps the real solution is to create an internet for minors with optimal censorship and an internet for adults with minimum censorship.
The only certain thing is that big money will continue to play a dominant role in censorship procedures and will try to make sure that their information will be prominently displayed before the public. Who will counteract the power of big money on the internet? Few to date are fulfilling that important role of monitoring the censorship of big money and making sure that small reputable businesses have a fair playing field on the internet.
I personally bemoan the fact that I can no longer easily get quality pictures and videos to share on my blog website. There are fewer and fewer websites which offer basic trustworthy online picture editing or resizing for free. Yes, plagiarism and theft of intellectual property was rampant in the old internet but the new internet is becoming a world where minority views and efforts are easily suppressed by big money and censoring search engine algorithms.
How much will the internet be censored in the future? It is hard to predict how intense the censorship will be other than the fact that there will be more of it. The little internet user will be more oppressed than ever and it will be almost impossible trying to make some money with videos and written content unless you are a celebrity to begin with.
Criminal and immoral activity on the internet must be minimized and fake news and fake facts should be policed to some extent. Trust in a website means that the website has a good reputation and we should never reach a point where no website on the internet can be trusted anymore, since society will disintegrate into dangerous chaos and instability.
Sexual promiscuity and some drug use rampantly promoted in the entertainment media is devastating the stability of family life and harmonious male female relationships. The credibility of establishment media is being assaulted with some success and they no longer have a sterling reputation. It seems that alternate media is the wave of the future since mainstream media is fast losing its credibility and with it moral trusting consumers.
How the internet will look in ten years is debatable but we can definitely look forward to more censorship and more breaches of security by unscrupulous hackers. In the meantime, try to enjoy the treacherous tumultuous ride!

One way Google destroys or censors old controversial or undesirable community sites is to flood it with pornographic posts thus making users abandon it in droves. I have fled from communities like this in the past and the most recent one is the Thinkers community which probably has too many anti Semitic posts and other controversial posts.
I never approve of many of the controversial postings but what was once a somewhat thought provoking site as a whole is now dying fast and so is the freedom of moral speech or the freedom to view controversial topics as a whole without pornographic crap.

Censorship by an immoral government is the worst kind of censorship because it tries to maintain a good or accepted reputation when it doesn’t deserve that reputation and does so with coercive oppression.
The next form of mass covert censorship is that done by monopoly prone organizations such as Amazon, Facebook, Apple, and Google who desperately would want a reputation of integrity and trustworthiness so they can be respected by a vast majority of its customers. That means that they must try to censor all immoral, incompetent, and criminal elements.
The reality is that big money is increasingly influencing who and what gets promoted and who and what gets censored on the web so many moral organizations and individuals with little money but quality information and/or goods and/or services and/or property get censored on the web along with criminals and politically incorrect viewpoints. You are constantly prominently barraged by ads that you don’t want or don’t need from deep pocket organizations with strong fiduciary relationships with the Big Four mentioned above with Bing a possible 5th contender.
In the foreseeable future cellphones will probably also evolve to much less complex dumb phones and not smart phones which can do almost anything. The complexity of thousands of apps will probably be reduced to simple choices such as type of food, clothing, car, author, etc. and price and all delivered door to door by a handful of companies. Less choice is also a form of censorship and the dream of monopoly prone companies so be on guard against this and promote quality diversity as much as possible.
A wild west kind of internet is unworkable and moral or just behavioral censorship has become a vital necessity. But can you completely trust the morals of companies with monopoly power over you or completely trust the morals of the government with a tendency to favor monied special interests?
Ultimately common morality must be impulsive to be effective so the solution lies in indoctrinating the younger generation with a workable universal worldwide secular moral code which can be applied by almost everyone without religious beliefs. A moral citizenry will demand a moral leadership and it will be a revolution from the bottom up if those in power desire it to be so top down also. A moral code that is just efficiently rules over impulsive human nature and minimizes the need for surveillance cameras in every nook and cranny of society.

Concept Connections Blue Background
Not so obvious to some, the internet was creating and is still creating cultural chaos with many prominent writers having lost their jobs and losing a national audience with it. Free information is very alluring but the reality is that the producers of the information have to be paid somehow and quality information is costly.
The quality of the culture has suffered and we are being brainwashed to buy crap and read crappy information more than ever. Crappy information may entertain many but it helps almost no one to realistically lead a better quality life.
Today more and more are trapped in their social networks all pursuing their mundane interests and having less and less political and social values in common with most of the citizens of a country or even world.
The real challenge is to create a new world culture which spans borders and creates a necessary worldwide secular morality to replace the old and decaying religious ones. I am perhaps one of the few who sense an urgency to restore a common human morality if we are not to descend into political chaos followed by tyranny.
Personal tradition is overwhelming national and religious tradition. Search engines like Google are struggling to regain some sense of order out of the chaos that it helped to create. Google’s latest emphasis is on professional and reputable publications rather than promoting publications based on keywords and followings which often have no connection to quality of input but are quantitative standards which can and often do promote mediocrity and sensationalism.
China was well aware of the threat posed to its leadership by the internet and continues to the present day to censor what it deems political or social dissent.
Censorship of the internet is inevitable and welcome to some extent even though it may take many years to make some areas of it a quality experience for all who choose to partake and it will probably be at some additional cost to the customer or consumer.

In totalitarian countries political free expression is also censored and you can’t write articles criticizing the leadership. Profanity is also frequently censored in the public media.
There is no pure freedom of speech in society because publishing untruths or lies about someone who is not a public official can ruin a good reputation and severely hurt someone’s ability to make a living in society.
Military secrets are also censored which would compromise national security if they became public knowledge.
Government censors some political activities of government committees from the public where special deals are made favoring some special interests and this can be considered a bad form of censorship. Open source government would go a long way towards making government less corrupt but the politically powerful factions and politicians are generally against such sunshine public activity.
The internet is being censored to try and exclude criminal behavior such as terrorist plots and stealing of money, intellectual property, and identities. The censorship which is not so obvious is search engines with algorithms which favor information published by financially well off corporations and websites and exclude many small websites from easy access.
Search engines like Google and Bing are in fact powerful censors who have incredible control over what is published and how it is published frequently favoring the rich and powerful over the poor humans.
Privacy or keeping personal information from public view is becoming increasingly difficult if you use the internet. Soon your communications, medical records, and financial transactions may become public knowledge. Only the rich will be able to keep their lives private with encryption communications which will be harder to steal unless you are the NSA with government backing and have the ability to decode the communications.
Finally government tries to censor criminal behavior by passing laws which are then enforced by the legal system and police.
CONCLUSION:
The rich and powerful will always find ways to keep their private information from public view through self-censorship. Whether common humans can maintain their privacy is an open question right now.
Censoring the internet to some extent is necessary but the real question is- Who will be in a position to censor and what kind of controls or safeguards will there be against unjust censorship by the rich and powerful financial interests and government?
