THE TRUTH ABOUT DIRECT*

image

Direct: v. to control primarily by giving (commands and/or suggestions) with authority and/or to control with (commands and/or suggestions) and/or actions electronically

Movie directing, directing a play, and directing traffic are mostly done with voice and/or gesture commands and/or suggestions. It is not so obvious that traffic lights are directors of traffic electronically with lights. Electronic commands abound on the internet and can be considered directing of internet input. Directed by software or commanded by it are one and the same thing.

THE TRUTH ABOUT OBEDIENCE***

Every-obedience-class-has-a-clown-D-puppies-15137909-500-333

Obedience: n. accepting and doing a command(s) which is frequently a (law(s) and/or rule(s)) and/or social norm(s)

Obedience to laws, rules, and social norms is what keeps society functioning in a relatively predictable way. If citizens obey a common morality then a non tyrannical peaceful just society is possible.

Too much obedience to a corrupt society is not advisable but habits are hard to exclude from your life and sometimes if you are not morally outraged then chances are that you will follow blindly and not be aware that much of your oppression.

Advertising is a form of brainwashing which leads to obedient purchasing of information, products, or services advertised and is a primary reason for predictable purchases made by customers. Obedient consumers are a company dream and many pay big money trying to achieve such a position in human lives.

When there is true choice in the marketplace then unsatisfied customers will go elsewhere or purchase superior information, goods, and services. Monopoly businesses have the power to force you to obediently buy something which need not be improved and you become an obedient slave purchasing what you need but may actually not want.

If you are commanded to do something and you do it then you are obeying. You may obey out of fear or a sense of duty so there is involuntary obedience and voluntary obedience. Many obey a command, rule, or law out of fear of punishment even though we may disagree with the command, rule, or law.

We frequently tell the truth because we are afraid of social ostracism since very few humans go to jail or get fined for everyday lying incidents. Most humans obey conventional social norms because we basically want to be liked by others and breaking social rules of behavior makes us less likable.

THE TRUTH ABOUT DISOBEDIENCE***

620disobedience_collectiv

Disobedience: n. intentionally not accepting and not doing a command(s) which frequently is a (law(s) and/or rule(s)) and/or social norm(s)

Laws, rules, and social norms are really commands by society to behave a certain way within behavioral limits. If you intentionally don’t do these commands or don’t accept them then you are being disobedient and intentionally so.

There is offspring disobedience which is a learning process and parents try to correct this disobedience with their own tactics which vary largely depending on whether the offspring rearing is largely authoritarian or more democratic and consensus based.

Adult disobedience results in official punishment if caught and social ostracism or a ruined reputation for going too radically against social norms. Disobeying standard operating procedure or organizational rules can get you fired or released from important duties or responsibilities.

Dysfunctional family life with bad role model friends and mediocre teachers handicap many with dysfunctional relationships. Good relationships require obedience to good relationship etiquette which bad role models never teach.

Without a strong moral family experience and obedience to it offspring grow into adults with the same parental handicaps and frequently add to them with addictive bad behaviors which they learn from other dysfunctional friends.

Teenagers and young adults will even rebel against good family ethics but sooner or later discover that they have a good foundation to go back to in times of trouble and chaos.

Disobedience to old beliefs and laws results in some progress in society but disobedience to basic moral laws is what causes society to gradually self destruct. It is the wise human who realizes that not lying, not stealing, not being adulterous, and not murdering is something which each generation must learn and reaffirm over and over again.

THE TRUTH ABOUT COMMANDS***

sit-thumb-300x298-6346

Command: v. to authoritatively demand an animal(s) to do a subset(s)

The lower echelons of the military and fast food workers have a rather strict command structure with exact commands on what to do. Young offspring too are frequently commanded and do relatively a minimum amount of independent thinking.

Obedience training for dogs is an example of a command structure where each command results in some well-defined animal behavior.

Where teamwork is preferable there is more independent decision making going on. If we trust and respect who is giving the commands then we generally obey them but if we don’t trust or respect the commanding party then we may not obey every single command or demand.

Frequently in marriages demands or commands are made and sometimes ignored or severely argued against because most of us do not want to be ordered around or bossed around too much.

Language is designed to facilitate commanding with questions and answers and with yes or no actions or reactions. The kind of thinking demanded by most language usage is black or white, always or never and a very stereotypic kind of thinking which leads to many logical mistakes and an inability to reason accurately when necessary.

Instead of demanding and commanding try more discussion, negotiating, and sharing of ideas and opinions in your personal life.

Historically commanding or bossing humans around was much more popular than today. Parents would command their offspring with strict discipline, men would frequently tell their wives what to do, rulers would command their followers and military leaders, military leaders would command their soldiers, and humans would command and discipline their pets.

Today many parents don’t strictly discipline their offspring, rulers and especially presidents have limited powers to command,  business leaders in many technological companies or creative enterprises emphasize teamwork and not autocratic rule, and spouses try to mutually cooperate in making decisions although one spouse may be more commanding than the other.

Commanding is still a vital and necessary function in western societies and is much more pronounced in other cultures today but the trend is towards much more cooperative strategies of leadership. Power is shared to some extent and all decisions are no longer strictly top down leadership but an exchange of ideas and strategies before a final decision is made.

THE TRUTH ABOUT NAGGING

Free-parenting-Webinar1

Nag: v. to frequently repeat identical (commands and/or criticisms) and/or annoying communications which annoy a human(s)

Repeat commands and/or criticisms or do them over and over again or repeat the same words or expressions or do them over and over again and you are nagging and are sure to annoy someone.

Wives are frequently accused of nagging but domineering husbands are also sometimes guilty of nagging.

Offspring are also sometimes nagged. Clean up your room, take out the garbage, come home on time, feed the pet, brush your teeth, hang up your clothes, and turn out the light are some examples of nagging expressions which can be stopped if you punish with the withdrawal of important privileges until the bad habit disappears or becomes so infrequent that it is acceptable behavior.

Nag too much and it is ignored communication. Unless it is something very important and has to be resolved don’t nag but do something about it.

THE HIDDEN MEANING OR TRUTH IN MOTIVATION***

motivation

Motivation is frequently thought of as getting someone to do something or achieve a goal(s) and what is not realized is that doing something right frequently means not doing something which will prevent us from achieving the goal(s).

Proper motivation is sometimes accompanied by a warning that you should not do something along the way which will interfere with your goal(s) achievement.

Motivation does not have a true antonym such as blocking or preventing a behavior but the blocking or preventing is an integral part of the motivation process where only some things are prevented or blocked so that the motivation can proceed successfully to its conclusion or goal(s).

Proper motivation is not just emotionally stimulating a desire to win or succeed with promises of rewards, commands, encouragements, and even instilling some fear with threats of punishment if the goal(s) is not achieved. To properly motivate you must have taught how to achieve by warning of the possible mistakes which should not be made along the way.

“Cross the street by yourself but look both ways before you do” is the proper way to motivate offspring to cross the street but in safety with an appropriate warning.

“Get the job done in a week but remember to get enough sleep so that you can function efficiently every day” is an example of properly motivating an employee  who historically has frequently shown up tired for work.

The hidden truth is that to motivate properly you must also frequently have a good knowledge or understanding of the weaknesses of the one whom you want to motivate. Warning of the weaknesses or suggesting real ways to minimize those weaknesses is an important part of the motivational process or motivation!!!!!!

The other hidden truth not found in the definition of motivation is that selfmotivation is what you need the most in life to achieve success. If you mostly depend on others to motivate you then you may sometimes be waiting forever to get off your butt and do something truly useful with your life.

Motivation: n. stimulating and/or preventing a behavior(s) with a subset(s) which is frequently done with (the promise of a reward and/or punishment) and/or (a command and/or an encouragement(s)) and/or (a threat and/or a warning)

Selfmotivation: n. motivated by one’s desire(s) and/or need(s) and/or belief(s) and/or past experiences which activate and/or prevent one’s behavior(s)

THE TRUTH ABOUT AUTHORITY

images (1)

Authority: n. having powerh and/or legal rights over a subset(s) which results in (giving orders to the subset(s) and/or making decisions for the subset(s)) and/or (exerting physical force on the subset(s) and/or (conserving and/or expanding) the subset(s)) and/or passing laws for the subset(s)

Authority humans give us orders, pass laws, make decisions for us and sometimes exert physical and/or mental force on us in the form of violence, threats of violence and/or demands. If we feel that the authority is just then we tend to obey but if authority is unjust then we may choose to disobey or even revolt against the authority in overt and/or covert ways.

Older offspring, parents, teachers, coaches, organization leaders, scientists, and politicians are authority humans and we may like or love them if they are just or seem just or disapprove of or even hate them if they are or seem unjust.

Emotions play a dominant role in our attitude towards authorities and if they are honest, sincere, dependable, competent, and trustworthy then we generally respect and even admire them and have a tendency to obey them or take their advice with relatively little resistance.

If the authority human is unjust or dishonest, insincere, not dependable, untrustworthy, and incompetent then we have a tendency to disobey or ignore them and not take their advice or demands on important matters in our life.

The lead are expected to have moral behavior but leaders, especially at the top, frequently feel that morality does not apply to them and they can be unjust with humans and other nations and get away with it. For leaders sometimes the end justifies the means and they will murder, lie, deceive, steal, and commit adultery if their goals of more powerh and money are achieved.

True world peace will only come when the leaders obey the morality which is expected from the led. Two or more immoral nations will never be able to reach mutually beneficial relationships and peace between them if they act immorally towards each other.

For all nations to live in peace with one another they must have the same secular moral code. Except in emergencies-don’t destroy biodiversity, don’t lie, don’t be inefficient, don’t steal, don’t commit adultery if married, and don’t murder.

Big money is trying to rule the world but Putin just stole the Crimea with physical force and China is stealing intellectual property. Yes, big money is the enemy of little money and has a powerhful advantage and the ability to exploit and/or enslave little money so even free trade is not the ultimate solution to justice in this world.

Big money is more powerhful than little money. Free trade must be coupled with moral behavior between nations and moral behavior within a nation. It is obvious that the world must have just international laws and nations must have just national laws which are mirror images of just international laws.

There is authority over real estate and the right to change it in legal manners. Wilderness real estate is the most precious and vital to future generation survival so authority must be given to conserve and even expand it in its pristine existence.

There is also authority over information and/or goods and/or services and this powerh should be used wisely and justly and not greatly impede the efficiency of its just distribution to the humans of the world.

I advocate those new just laws in my evergreen truth books NEW UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS, NEW CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES, CHANGES IN WELFARE LAWS, and JUSTICE.

Authority: n. having power or legal rights over another which results in (giving orders to another and/or making decisions for another) and/or exerting physical force on another
