THE TRUTH ABOUT IRRELEVANT*

sandow

Irrelevant: adj. not having a logical correspondence and/or importance to the subset(s) being considered

When you say something is irrelevant you are probably impulsively judging something to not be important to a circumstance or subject which you are currently involved with. You may also feel something is irrelevant because it seems to have no logical connection in your opinion with what is happening in the moment.

Feeling something is irrelevant may be due to your subjective opinion, to an absence of understanding, to your ignorance, to your absence of previous experience with the subject, to not caring about the subject or opinion, or you may merely be making an undesirable excuse not to have to talk about that something subject because you feel incompetent to answer or you don’t want to waste any more time with it.

Prepare: v. to make ready for (future use and/or consideration) and/or goal(s) achievement

Preparing to run or preparing to invade a country demonstrates the vast difference in complexity when getting ready to achieve a goal(s).

Always try to be prepared is a laudable slogan to live by even though in real life we frequently find out that we should have been better prepared before we proceeded with the goal(s) achievement.

THE TRUTH ABOUT RELEVANCE+

relevance

Relevance: n. having a logical correspondence and/or importance to the subset(s) being considered

That information is not relevant or what you are saying is not relevant to the situation means that there isn’t a logical connection with the subject being discussed or that the information has no importance or bearing on the subject being discussed.

Most of us desire to be relevant all the time but it is frequently a skill acquired and perfected only after years of experience and gathering useful knowledge in a field of expertise.

THE TRUTH ABOUT UNSELFISHNESS*

maxresdefault

Unselfishness: n. a behavior(s) which tries to balance a personal goal(s) with consideration of another lifeform(s)’s needs

Unselfishness is not just a question of being a generous human but it really means that you take into consideration other human needs when pursuing a personal goal(s) and don’t trample on humans indiscriminately while pursuing personal goal(s).

Unselfishness applies to wilderness plants and animals too and not just humans. An unselfish human also takes into consideration the need of wildlife to be left alone and not decimated by human intervention and/or destruction.

THE TRUTH ABOUT SUGGESTIONS***

suggestions.0_standard_352.0

Suggestion: n. presented for consideration and done for acceptance and/or rejection

Most suggestions are either rejected or accepted and implemented if you are fortunate. There are circumstances where a suggestion may only be partially accepted or it may be the trigger for a better idea which is then acted on.

Suggestion boxes are common but it is rather rare for companies to actually seriously consider all the suggestions which may frequently run opposite to company operating procedure.

In relationships if you don’t want to be bossy and demand something or it is not that urgent then a suggestion is frequently accepted more readily than an actual order or demand. This is because a human frequently does not automatically switch to a defensive mode of thinking if they feel they are not being bossed around.

THE TRUTH ABOUT COURTESY***

common courtesy

Courtesy: n. using good and/or right etiquette

Social etiquette varies slightly from culture to culture but kindness and consideration for another’s needs is what courtesy is all about.

Holding the door for the next human, making more room in an elevator, letting a customer with few items go first at the checkout line, giving up your seat for the handicapped on a bus, not using profanities, saying “please” and “thank you”, not talking loudly, dressing appropriately, not pointing at someone, not staring at someone, etc. are just a few examples of courteous behavior.

Meanness and/or rudeness is what frequently happens when courtesy is ignored and humans will instantly think less of you as a human.

What is true is that private household etiquette is frequently much different than social etiquette and it is easy for offspring who have been living a sheltered existence at home to lack courtesy in public, especially saying “please” and “thank you” where appropriate. Youth is frequently more selfish and rebellious against proper social etiquette and it sometimes takes them much more social exposure to learn the acceptable cultural norms which are gradually changing too.
