THE TRUTH ABOUT OPPRESSION***

oppression_1

Oppression: n. controlling cruelly and/or unjustly for duration

Most of us suffer under government oppression with unjust laws to obey but we can also be oppressed at work. Our boss may not give us credit for our efforts or may be a tyrannical authoritarian berating us and ridiculing our efforts.

Oppression is a fact of life in this world and with an ever growing government the oppression will just get worse with the passage of time. Compared to other exploitative governments ours is still not the worst but it is getting there by leaps and bounds.

The liberty to morally speak your mind and publish it is the most important right but ultimately your right to bear arms if you are a law abiding citizen is the most important long duration guarantee against total tyrannical government oppression.

Fortunately none of us are slaves suffering under the oppression of slave owners but there is other social oppression such as handicaps, gender, ethnic, and ageism discrimination.

Colonialism used to be national oppression and tyrannies are still political forms of oppression.

Some of us feel oppressed by corrupt laws and too much taxation and still others feel oppressed by a bad job with little prospects for advancement. Some are in abusive or oppressive marriages and are desperate to get out but may not be able to for financial reasons.

If you are trapped in cruel relationships or suffering injustices then you can consider yourself to be oppressed in some way.

THE TRUTH ABOUT RUTHLESSNESS

Ruthless_logo_by_Two_Stripes

Ruthlessness: n. pitiless and/or merciless and/or unsympathetic and/or frequently cruel and sometimes murderous in the achievement of a goal(s)

A totally immoral or totally ruthless human will lie, steal, and murder to achieve power or to maintain it once in a leadership position. Organized crime and gangs are examples of ruthless behavior in an otherwise peaceful society.

Tyrants are ruthless but ruthless politicians and business humans will sometimes lie, deceive, and bankrupt humans to gain or maintain their power. Whistle blowers are bankrupted or labelled mentally insane and their lives are destroyed for all practical purposes. Political opponents are labelled racist, homophobes, radicals, or fanatics by character assassinators. Vicious untrue rumors are spread by some in the workplace to try and get you fired or deposed from a prestigious position in an organization.

Ruthlessness is not only a characteristic of tyrannies but is alive and well in democracies too although short of murder in most cases. The powerful monied interests can make your life a living hell if they decide that you are a serious threat to their power. Almost no one has gone to jail for wall street corruption and none for bank corruption. There is a great likelihood that this deplorable trend will continue until whistleblowers are protected physically and financially from disclosing evidence of corruption.

The more immoral a society becomes the less the leadership can be trusted to rule justly without the use of force or the threat of force. This is why it is of utmost importance to teach young impressionable minds a secular morality which preaches against lying, stealing, and murder without any ifs ands or buts.

THE TRUTH ABOUT CRUELTY

Screen-Shot-2014-01-27-at-8.41.47-AM Historically capital punishment was frequently very cruel such as the breaking wheel, flaying, disembowelment, crucifixion, impalement, crushing, stoning, burning, dismemberment, sawing, etc. It was designed to create fear in the public so citizens would not commit serious capital crimes. Severe punishment was seen as a guaranteed deterrent against serious crime.

Historically you were punished for behaving badly or criminally with violence which was designed to create pain, suffering, or humiliation in the offender. Spare the rod and spoil the child was the accepted philosophy and practice by most parents.

Today cruel and unusual punishment is forbidden but there are still cruel humans who delight in causing pain, suffering, and humiliation in others. Concentration camps and genocide in some African countries which is relatively recent is proof that full blown human cruelty can surface at any moment if we are not vigilant against such atrocities.

A cruel boss may humiliate you by name calling using words such as stupid, crazy, fool, and incompetent. He can make you work many hours overtime without overtime pay and make you do unpleasant tasks such as cleaning the floors, windows, taking out the garbage, and mowing the lawn. Suffering by working very long hours and being humiliated may not be very painful but it can be psychologically devastating and cause much mental stress.

Cruel physically abusive spouses may physically abuse even their offspring and humiliate with profanities and name calling. Most choose not to live with cruelty and wind up eventually divorcing.

Sometimes pets are abused mostly through neglect or not feeding them and this is considered cruel behavior. Some pets are even beaten physically and are traumatized for life and no longer make nice loving pets for new owners. Many substandard zoos can also be considered cruel and unusual punishment for wildlife.

Human offspring are programmed genetically with the potential to be violent, aggressive predators and are basically vengeful creatures with an eye for an eye tendencies. Human society is constantly struggling to eliminate as much of this cruel behavior as possible but our prisons are still places with an abundance of cruel humans who even enjoy causing pain, suffering, and humiliation.

Cruelty: n. willfully causing pain and/or suffering and/or humiliation in an animal(s) and/or seeing the pain and/or suffering and/or humiliation of an animal(s) and sensing pleasure

WHAT TO TRY TO BE AND NOT TRY TO BE!!!

i_love_good_behavior_mug-r9f26719f671a445fa330c81d32709db3_x7jgr_8byvr_324

“There is an incomplete philosophical struggle and it is between two rather distinct extreme mindsets. One is frequently but not always bad – it is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, lust, resentment, inferiority, foundationless pride, superiority, and inflated ego or extreme selfishness. “The other is frequently but not always good – it is faithfulness, joy, peace, caring, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, controlled generosity, compromise, and compassion. The same struggle is sometimes going on inside you – and inside every other caring human, too.”

Try not to be envious, resentful, or jealous but try to be empathetic and benevolent instead

Instead of being unhappy and resentful of another’s possessions and characteristics and luck and circumstances, try to share in the feeling of accomplishment which another human is experiencing and feel that their good achievements, abilities, and circumstances are to be praised and not put down or criticized.

Try not to be cruel and mean but try to be kind or caring and sympathetic instead

Instead of willfully causing suffering and mental displeasure in a human and getting pleasure doing so try to be caring and sympathetic and share in the bad feelings and emotions caused by mistakes or bad circumstances which exist in a human’s life. You can be a strict and demanding disciplinarian or boss but try not to do it in a cruel and mean way.

Try not to be too greedy, selfish, with unfounded pride and too much superiority and arrogance but try to be with some generosity, caring behavior, and an adequate humility.

Try not to wallow in regret, pessimism, self-pity, sorrow, depression, hopelessness, guilt, and inferiority but try to be optimistically hopeful, happy, and develop as much selfconfidence and selfmotivation as possible by gradually changing more and more of your bad habits into good ones.

Above all try to be honest, sincere, truthful, and reliable and the bonds of your relationships with others will grow stronger and not weaker and you will be admired and respected by most close humans in your life.

Finally teach your offspring if you decide to have any this moral code- except in emergency situations-don’t destroy biodiversity, don’t lie, don’t be inefficient, don’t steal, don’t commit adultery if married, and don’t murder!!!!!!
