THE TRUTH ABOUT WORRY*

Worry: v. to be excessively (concerned and anxious and uncertain) and wasting thinking time with a (real and/or imagined) (future and/or present) (danger(s) and/or event(s)) and/or subset(s)

Some worry is a natural human reaction to potential dangers and/or events and concern, anxiety, and uncertainty about the future is normal.

When worry is excessive then you are wasting much time thinking about horrible things which may happen and in most cases the worrying is really a waste of time since you often can’t change what the future will bring by just thinking about it. Also the horrible thoughts often don’t come close to future reality which is much more benign in most cases.

If the worry leads to or motivates preventative thoughts and actions to avoid future problems then the worrying has not been useless or wasted time.

Belaboring a point or subject is basically repeating the same thing over and over again with only slight changes in detail and boring you considerably.

Belaboring a communication with excessive verbosity is also a possibility which often bores you considerably.

Extravagance: n. very excessive inefficient use of money and/or resources

The bad thing about extravagance is that it is generally too much of something and very inefficient use of money and/or resources. The very rich are usually guilty of extravagance with huge homes, huge boats, huge airplanes, and overpriced clothing, jewelry, artwork, and cars. Sustainable living is not an extravagant lifestyle.

Many average humans are also guilty of extravagance within their limited budgets. They aren’t thrifty, inefficiently spend money on too many often oversized products, and are generally interested in quantity rather than quality. They too are not living sustainable lifestyles with an emphasis on simplicity, efficiency, frugality, and minimum use of resources.

Until humanity changes its obsession with anything big being more powerful and desirable we will continue to have a natural tendency towards extravagance.

Haughtiness: n. excessive contemptuous superiority

Excessive feelings of superiority with excessive criticizing is the evidence of a haughty human. The contemptuous nature of a haughty individual implies that deep down there is very little if any empathy with “inferior” humans who are not liked and are disrespected in general. Haughtiness is more than just looking down on humans because it is done contemptuously.

Arrogance: n. an excessive and frequently offensive (sensing of and behaving with) superiority and/or behaving disrespectfully

There is a fine line between confidence which will get you hired and arrogance which shows excessive superiority over and/or disrespect of humans, especially those working under you, which are characteristics which can get you fired from a position of authority.

The most undesirable characteristics of arrogant humans are that they use put downs and name call, try to blame someone else for their mistakes or shortcomings, disrespectfully interrupt conversations, drop influential names out of context in everyday conversations, brag much about themselves, and can do 5 more annoying things which you can read about in the following link:

If a leader has all 10 arrogant characteristics then chances are that he or she is no longer a leader or in a position of authority but some arrogant leaders get away with their arrogance because they only exhibit maybe three to five arrogant characteristics which are sometimes not bad enough to get fired for if they exhibit competent leadership in other ways to compensate for their arrogant drawbacks.

Lust: v. to desire sex excessively

To lust means to desire sex excessively and some give in to the desire with many sexual partners if the lust extends to more than one human.

If you are a polygamous male then lusting after more than one wife would theoretically be acceptable but lust is still an extreme sexual addiction which is not healthy mentally nor perhaps even physically in the long duration.

Morbid: adj. excess deviant thinking about a very unpleasant subset(s) suchas death and/or disease

A morbid cruelty and grief is possible but it is usually limited to morbid death and/or disease in common usage.

A morbid sense of humor usually tries to laugh at or make fun of death and/or disease. You can try to laugh at cruelty and grief but it is something most humans do not consider a laughing matter.

A morbid curiosity may be about cruelty, grief, death, disease, and other very unpleasant things. The one unifying theme is that the morbid curiosity is usually deviant and excessive and about unpleasant subsets.

Morbid addictions are possible because they can be called compulsive bad habits.

It should be noted that there is a cultural bias in the definition of morbid because some human deviants actually find the death, disease, grief, and cruelty of others very pleasant and satisfying.
