THE TRUTH ABOUT DEFEAT+

canstock21021039

Defeat: v. to get power and/or get rights over another which may be (bodily and/or politically) and/or verbally with or without (force and/or the threat of force)

If you are defeated in a war, a debate, a sport, or an attempt at achieving a goal(s) something else triumphed over you and effectively got power and/or rights over you and your immediate and/or long duration desires. This can be with a relatively peaceful interaction or with the use of force and/or the threat of force.

THE TRUTH ABOUT FORCE*

force-1vc6k6y

Force: v. to cause a subset(s) to move and with a lifeform(s) it is when moved against its will bodily.

It takes force to move a physical object and force and the threat of force can also move humans which is called coercion. Persuasion and requests are the civilized way of interacting with humans but that assumes an appropriate upbringing which teaches the rules for peaceful human interaction.

As long as humans live by internalized moral rules and laws which govern behavior they can interact peacefully with one another. Take away moral behavior and society begins to descend into violent chaos or anarchy. Tyranny takes over when humans are minimally governed by an internalized moral code which makes peaceful interaction possible without force or the threat of force being constantly used.

THE TRUTH ABOUT NONCOERCIVE+

116438

Noncoercive: adj. not using force and/or the threat of force to get a desired behavior(s) and/or thinking(s) and/or belief(s) in an animal(s)

If you do not use force or the threat of force on others then you are using noncoercive behavior or interactive techniques.

Some humans still resort to force and threats of force to get their way or to dominate others but it is increasingly becoming an unacceptable way of trying to control the environment with humans in it.

Abusive families are examples where force and the threat of force is still profusely used with some success and results in much misery for the humans involved in the abuse.

Coercion is the natural state of human nature and to be noncoercive is what being a civilized democracy is all about. Tyrants love to use force and the threat of force to get their way and rule and unfortunately oppressive forms of government and oppressive societies are still the norm and not the exception to the rule which democracies try to be.

Repel: v. to force an attacker and/or subset(s) to retreat

Repelling an enemy is causing them to retreat. Repelling mosquitoes is also causing them to retreat from an attempted attack on your skin and blood. Shark repellents also sometimes work and they are usually chemical formulations which sharks don’t like.

Retreat: v. (to be forced and/or to voluntarily move) from a subset(s)

You can retreat from a battle or you can retreat from a fight or you can retreat from an individual who is annoying you or trying to abuse you.

Retreating may seem like a cowardly thing to do but if you retreat to fight another day when you are in a better position physically and/or mentally  or have backup assistance from someone then retreat is actually a very smart thing to do.

THE TRUTH ABOUT SUPPRESSION+

appetite

Suppression: n. forcibly stopping and/or restraining an action(s)

A suppressive regime uses force, the threat of force, and imprisonment designed to keep it in power and to minimize opposition to it.

A judge sometimes suppresses, stops, or prevents untrue evidence or testimony by disreputable humans from being presented in a court of law.

The media frequently suppresses whistle blower evidence from being aired if it is judged harmful to the corporate powers who own it or to advertisers on which they are dependent.

Some take special pills to suppress their appetite when dieting.

Suppressing anger is a common struggle which many humans deal with trying to avoid disastrous arguments and misunderstandings.

Crew members using force or the threat of force to take over command of a ship is considered a mutiny.

Hijackers or pirates may also forcefully take control of a ship but this is not considered to be a mutiny.

THE TRUTH ABOUT SEIZING***

images (1)

Seize: v. to get control of and/or possession of suddenly and forcibly

Yank a toy from an offspring, quickly pick up a young toddler dangerously headed for a pool, and reposes a car with a driver behind the wheel are all examples of seizing something suddenly and forcibly.

Search and seizure is a phrase used in police work where some possession such as illegal drugs or a weapon or a criminal is suddenly taken or arrested or seized.

A machine with moving parts can also seize and stop working because a moving part becomes immobilized or frozen.

The phrases “seize the moment” and “seize the day” are also used to convey the message that you are taking control of the moment or day or trying to intensely control the activities of the moment or day. You can suddenly seize the moment but it is questionable whether you can seize an entire day so that phrase is not really very accurate in describing what you are doing during the whole day.

THE TRUTH ABOUT VIOLENCE***

violence-prevention

Violence: n. using (relatively very intense force and/or relatively much energy) and/or (electrocorpus without permission and/or a relatively very intense action(s)) and is frequently against a lifeform(s) to (hurt and/or damage) and/or kill

If you are being violent against a human then you are using enough force and energy to hurt, incapacitate, or kill them which is usually against the law if you are not an arresting officer dealing with a violent arrestee.

Violently destroying or damaging property which is not yours is also usually against the law but there is visceral pleasure which many humans get from explosions and other violent acts which are not meant to hurt or kill humans. Violence is a demonstration of the application of force and energy and it is a demonstration of power in action which humans respect and frequently admire or fear.

Violent video games appeal to the predatory nature in many human males and they are sometimes overly blamed for creating aggressive tendencies in offspring and adults.

Violence and fighting has historically been a way to settle disputes between tribes and nations and it is still alive and well in the Middle East and the Ukraine. When reason fails to settle disputes then unfortunately violence is seen as the only way to a swift and speedy resolution. When violence succeeds and it is not met with superior violence or punishing economic sanctions then it is usually just a question of time before it is used again.

A potent ideology, poverty, and a willingness to die for a cause is hard to combat if surrounding humans are sympathetic to your cause. Superior intel and an ability to destroy the leadership at will is the only way to combat virulent expansionism and ultimately achieve a peaceful political settlement.

Domestic and criminal violence is an ongoing continuous struggle from generation to generation because we are all born with violent fighting tendencies which have to be tamed in each generation. Teaching a secular moral code in elementary school to all impressionable young minds is the surest way to exclude most of the violent tendencies from society.

THE TRUTH ABOUT FORFEITURE***

forfeiture

Forfeiture: n. frequently involuntarily but sometimes voluntarily no longer possessing a subset(s) and the possession loss is frequently forcefully taken and caused by an authoritative punishment and/or penalty

If you had a car or furniture repossessed or had a game or games voided because of illegality then you forfeited the car, furniture, or game.

Forfeiting is giving up something either voluntarily or involuntarily when that something is taken away from you forcibly. Forfeiting exists because frequently you have done something illegal or unacceptable and you are being punished or penalized.

If you are excommunicated from the Catholic or Mormon Church then you forfeit your rights as a practicing catholic or Mormon.

Forfeiting property or forfeiting rights as punishment for illegal or unacceptable behavior is a fact of life for some in society.

Forfeiting a goal or points is also a punishment for illegal play.

THE TRUTH ABOUT REPRESSION***

repressing-emotions

Repression: n. using force and/or the threat of force to control a subset(s)

A repressive government uses force and/or the threat of force to rule it’s citizens in many areas of life. Most do not prefer repression but when trust between citizens and the government breaks down then tyrannical repression is the only realistic way of ruling humans through fear of disobedience.

Everyone fears the use of force or the threat of force being used on them and this keeps primitive tyrannies in power where rule through fear and not reason or good habits is used.

Repressing sexual or violent thoughts is an example of consciously forcing your mind not to think about them. Conscious emotional control is an example of emotion repression and it is something which we all do from time to time to avoid intense emotional outbursts or displays.

THE TRUTH ABOUT RAPE***

Rape3

Rape: v. to steal sex with (force and/or the threat of force)

If someone physically forces you into having sex when you don’t want it or threatens you with violence if you don’t have sex then you are being raped.

Husbands have historically been able to get away with the rape of their spouses but in modern times in western countries it is considered a form of abuse which should be considered wrong behavior.

Marauding males historically have raped women and it used to be considered an almost acceptable form of male aggressive behavior. Raping and pillaging is fortunately not condoned in most civilized parts of the world.

THE TRUTH ABOUT COMPLIANCE***

pci-compliance

Compliance: n. obeying a (command(s) and/or demand(s)) and/or (request(s) and/or rule(s)) and/or (law(s) and/or requirement(s)) and/or (procedure(s) and/or subset(s)) frequently without and/or with the use of (force and/or the threat of force) and/or persuasion

Compliance basically means that you are obeying or following established procedures, commands, demands, requests, rules, laws, and requirements.  In effect you are obeying a subset(s). Frequently you obey without coercion but sometimes force, the threat of force, and persuasion is used to get you to obey or comply.

Why do we obey laws and guidelines or are compliant? It is probably because we have been persuaded that it is a good law or guideline or wish to avoid being caught disobeying it and being reprimanded and/or fined and/or imprisoned.

If we strongly disagree with a law or guideline then we may disobey it when we feel we are safe and probably won’t get caught disobeying it.

Prohibition of alcohol was a failure because too many humans wanted to drink and so many broke the law that it became inefficient to prosecute and put so many in jail. Marijuana laws may suffer the same fate but there should always be laws against driving intoxicated or under the influence.

Cars may soon be driving themselves so the only place where drug use may still be illegal is in the workplace where a clear head may be vital to good job performance.

Compliance to laws is a tricky thing because too many laws makes compliance very hard and inefficient. No laws results in too much chaos. Knowing which laws and guidelines are just and necessary sometimes only comes from experimentation and unfortunately once a law or guideline is on the books then it is almost impossible to change it or replace it with better alternatives.

THE TRUTH ABOUT COERCION***

can-stock-photo_csp11943103

Coercion: n. using force and/or the threat of force to get a desired (behavior(s) and/or thinking(s)) and/or belief(s) in an animal(s)

Have you ever used physical force on someone or threatened them with physical force? Then you have used coercion. Sometimes offspring are coerced to behave by threatening them with spanking and abusive spouses frequently use coercion to get what they want in a marriage. Some pets are also coerced and physically hit out of shear abuse or just a desire to get them to behave. Civilized humans should not be using coercion on each other but unfortunately it is still a fact of life in many cases in this world.

A stickup using a gun as a threat is the most basic kind of coercion without actual physical contact being necessary in most cases. Unfortunately police officers also sometimes have to use coercion to apprehend and arrest criminals or lawbreakers.

Slavery was made possible because of coercion by the slave owners and laws permitting it. Religious coercion is still being practiced by some fanatical and not so fanatical Muslims. Tyrants use political coercion to rule.

Scapehum: n. a human and/or group of humans that is coerced into accepting blame for another’s (immorality and/or misbehavior) and/or mistakes

I chose to make a new word for scapegoat and a new accurate definition because it is not a goat but rather a human who is coerced into accepting blame for something.

The less coercion there is in society the more just it is and humans can interact morally and relatively peacefully with one another. Unfortunately morality is not indoctrinated into modern humans and the result is much irresponsible behavior which the general public tends to abhor and begins to look for government for a solution.

Irresponsible immoral behavior results in many unnecessary absolute unjust laws which are coercive in nature since they are enforced with the use of force. Every unjust absolute law is really a coercive threat of the use of force if it is not obeyed. The net effect of so many unjust absolute laws is that many minorities are handicapped by having to live under the laws and it seems that there is justice for the majority but in fact many minorities are oppressed.

In the real world where there are so many exceptions to an absolute rule the more absolute rules there are the more unjust the government becomes.

So many unjust rules or laws means that new businesses and new young humans are at a distinct disadvantage competitively speaking and the established businesses and older individuals almost have a monopoly power over who can compete against them in society.

Government can’t legislate morality by passing laws to try and control human behavior in minute detail so a secular morality must be taught in public schools so that its citizens can interact relatively peacefully with one another in an atmosphere of more general trust. That secular morality should be-except in emergency situations- don’t destroy biodiversity, don’t lie, don’t be inefficient, don’t steal, don’t commit adultery if married, and don’t murder!!!!!!

With a secular public morality the amount of necessary government coercion can be minimal and its citizens can live in relatively trusting relationships with one another and not constantly have to live in fear of being victimized by violence and/or a ripoff by another immoral citizen.

THE TRUTH ABOUT AGGRESSION***

aggressive-kids

Aggression: n. pursuing a goal(s) forcefully and/or threateningly which may include (body contact and/or violence) and/or a ((verbal threat(s) and/or verbal attack(s)) and/or physical attack(s))

Aggressiveness is part of human nature and many young offspring get into physical fights with siblings and other offspring and some even become bully problems for others. Society tries to channel aggression into less harmful pursuits such as wrestling, boxing, football, violent video games, and non-violent competition which minimizes the potential violence and harm which one human can do to another.

Despite acceptable forms of social aggression there are abusive families and considerable criminal violence which is always a part of society.

There is much verbal aggression which exists and human confrontations which result in combative arguments with each side trying to win with their point of view. Verbal aggression can be pretty nasty with harsh criticism, put downs, ridicule, name calling, and sometimes threats which imply physical harm such as “I will kill you!”

The struggle for dominance is part of animal behavior and human nature also has an abundance of it and ways of expressing it have acceptable social norms. Aggression causes fear and can result in passive compliance or a desire to retaliate immediately or at some point in the future.

Aggressive nations are feared just like aggressive humans but there is frequently the desire to retaliate rather than to passively submit.

Tyrants use aggression to make the ruled passively submit and are also more prone to extend their aggression beyond their borders because successful aggression at home tempts them to practice aggression abroad.

There is no one gene for aggression and we all have the potential for aggressive behavior. Some have a genetic makeup with more aggressive potential than others and are more predisposed to practice aggression in their lives.

Are males frequently more aggressive than females? Yes, because historically males have been stronger physically and dominated society with physical force more than mental force of persuasion. There are some pretty aggressive females in western societies but few choose to lead violent gangs and tyrant nations. Women’s liberation is really an attempt to escape the historical oppression which they have experienced and are continuing to experience under dominant male aggressiveness.

THE TRUTH ABOUT REVOLUTION

logo-revolution

Revolution: n. forcing change in the government by people usually not in positions of authority

Pure revolution is the violent overthrow of the government and replacing it with new leadership and frequently a new constitution with or without the direct participation of the public.

Revolutions against relatively small tyrannies are still going on but increasingly it is becoming very hard to overthrow an existing government which is heavily armed.

Political power grows out of violent military or police power and is held in place by enforcement which uses physical violence as an ultimate form of enforcement. This is why one of the first priorities of tyrannies is to disarm the law abiding public who senses corrupt tyrannical government and potentially may decide to do something violent about it. The thing which tyrants fear most is morally outraged armed citizens.

Relatively small regional powers may be victims of revolution but large powers such as the United States, Russia, and China are less subject to violent revolutions because of large military and security forces which can use their overwhelming power to suppress violent uprisings relatively easily.

10 IMPORTANT SOCIAL TRUTHS ABOUT HUMAN NATURE: PART 9

104714482_tshp

There are too few unchanging truths today.

Most scientific and technological truths are unchanging but morality should be changed and in a nutshell it should be in non emergency situations don’t destroy biodiversity, don’t lie, don’t be inefficient, don’t steal, don’t commit adultery if married, and don’t murder.  With the exception of emergency situations such as wars and natural disasters, this basic secular morality should also be a new unchanging truth for society to follow.

Torture is barbaric.

This is just a way of saying that torture causes much pain and there are better ways of extracting information from criminals or terrorists these days.

Using force to stop force is not absurd.

Use greater force to stop force is a better way of putting it and it is not an absurd thing to believe in. Children who attack parents physically should be restrained first with greater force and continued compulsive physical aggressions can even be met with a justified forceful spanking.  Tyrants who forcefully invade another nation should be met with superior force to stop this unacceptable aggression.

Violence is permissible even desirable occasionally.

Violence in self defense can certainly be justified in many cases.

You are a victim of the rules you live by.

More accurately, you are limited to a lifestyle by the rules that you live by.  You are not a victim because no crime has been committed.

You can’t expect people to be something they’re not.

If you expect people to behave contrary to human nature or the way that they were raised, you will be disappointed.

You must be intimate with a token few.

This just means that you should have very few close friends that you can share your most intimate secrets with. The more friends that you share your intimate secrets with, the more likely it will be that your intimacy will be violated at some point in the future.

You owe the world not the other way around.

You owe the world a moral lifestyle and the world should help you in supporting that moral lifestyle.

If you lie down with dogs you’ll rise with fleas.

This just means that if you associate with bad people some or all of those bad behaviors will influence and change you for the worse.

The thief is no danger to the beggar.

This is not always true because the thief can steal what little the beggar has such as clothes.
