GOOD BEHAVIOR, HABITS, OR TRAITS!!!

Most of us have at least a handful of bad behaviors which need improvement and it is often hard to lose them because they have become bad habits or bad traits. One way to eliminate bad habits is to quit cold turkey and not do them anymore but for most of us replacing them more and more with good behaviors or good habits is the practical way to go.

There are good behaviors and good habits which exist almost on a daily basis and these are more important than the good behaviors or habits which are displayed less frequently or only on special occasions.

Almost daily good behaviors or habits are:

Eat healthy organic food and drink as much as possible.

Exercise or move around enough.

Get plenty of sleep.

Work hard and smart.

Be trustworthy.

Being trustworthy is the most important thing in human relationships. Trust is the bond which keeps good relationships going. Without trust there is no relationship or a very dysfunctional one. Trustworthiness is having integrity or being honest and morally or ethically sound, being dependable, and competent. Trust in a human,  product, or service is the source of loyalty which many want and can appreciate.

Be dependable and punctual.

Being predictably dependable or reliable is important because trust begins to decline if a human can’t depend on you to be punctual, fulfill given promises, and behave in a generally predictable fashion. If someone can’t depend on you to do a good job in a timely way or fulfill a promise in a timely way then you are not very trustworthy due mainly to incompetence. Being trustworthy means having integrity or being honest, being moral or ethical, being competent, and being dependable. You definitely don’t want to have an untrustworthy reputation which is often gotten by lying or being pretentious.

Have integrity or be honest and moral or ethical.

Humans with integrity can often be trusted because they are honest and moral or ethical. Yes, being dependable and competent is also very important in developing trusting relationships and enhances your integrity.

Be disciplined or organized

Being disciplined and organized is a sign of behavioral competence which is very important for personal improvement and being respected for being a together human who is responsible for her or his behavior. Being disciplined and organized is especially important in the workplace where proper scheduling, prioritizing of tasks, and timely completion is so important.

These good behaviors or habits are especially important when interacting with others which may be on a daily basis or far less frequently:

Be loyal and fair.

Loyalty is a devotion to a human, organization, cause, product, or service and it is considered an admirable trait if the human, organization, or cause is not an immoral one. Loyalty usually means getting supported and not being stabbed in the back unless it is deserved for bad or immoral behavior. Loyalty is also inspired by being fair or giving credit where credit is due and sharing the rewards and punishments on the road to successful cooperation and achievement.

Be encouraging, cheerful, optimistic, and compliment.

The above all reflect a positive considerate attitude which is a great help when trying to motivate other humans to do well or behave well.

Be enthusiastic and energetic.

Enthusiasm and energy are contagious and humans who have it have more of an impact on another’s behavior.

Be sincere, polite, and respectful.

Being sincere, polite, and respectful is the best approach when interacting with strangers. It is also usually the best approach when confronting bad behavior which can’t be changed or avoided and is a way of keeping your cool under undesirable bad pressure or circumstance.

Be helpful and considerate where appropriate.

Some humans occasionally need help and consideration so if you are not too busy then offer that help or consideration which may just be a suggestion or a bit of friendly advice. Be careful to not be overly generous with your help or consideration because some will come to always expect it from you and they may become a demanding burdensome responsibility.

Be responsible and fulfill promises.

Do your best but own up to your mistakes if you make any and be responsible or accountable. Fulfilling promises is also a sign of being responsible for the promises that you make to other humans who are depending on the fulfillment of those promises. If you don’t fulfill a promise then it feels like you have lied about a promised future behavior and that can begin destroying a trusting relationship.

Be caring and empathetic.

Being caring and empathetic is very important in family life but if you are a boss or leader then some caring and empathy are also important towards your workers since it makes them seem important in your life.

Be kind, considerate, and compassionate.

This is very important when dealing with bad behavior in children, especially when they make unintentional mistakes in life. Your spouse will also appreciate a kind, considerate, and compassionate attitude and behavior since it is a very important part of loving behavior.

Be cooperative and forgiving where appropriate.

This is very important in human interactions, especially when cooperation leads to problems or unintentional mistakes which need forgiving to avoid intense arguments or disagreements. The forgiving may be conditional upon a promise not to make the same mistake again or a promise to do better the next time around.

Be brave, persistent, dedicated, and patient.

Being brave or courageous and continuing despite frustrations and obstacles in your path is important. A worthwhile struggle will often pay off with persistent, dedicated, and patient continuation.

Be responsible and confident.

Being responsible or accountable for your behavior is important and maintaining confidence despite a plethora of drawbacks is a positive sign of seldom giving up if the cause or task is worthwhile doing and doing well.

Apologize where appropriate.

One of the hardest things to do, especially if you are in a leadership position, is to admit that you did something wrong, behaved badly, or hurt someone’s feelings. An apology may be appropriate but even more important is taking steps so that the mistake or bad behavior will not happen again.

Playfulness and humor.

Playfulness and humor can be entertaining in family life and in interactions with close friends. In the workplace some will not get your humor and playfulness conveys a non serious attitude which is often not conducive to a good working environment.

Be a good careful listener.

No one is a know it all so careful listening is important in any conversation. You must know what is being spoken and even better is knowing the frame of reference from which the conversation is coming. Listening well and asking appropriate questions can be a learning experience, so don’t be too anxious to convey your own opinions or beliefs and perhaps responding inappropriately to a conversation. Yes, interruptions or trying to change the subject is acceptable if the conversation is getting too boring or seems to be off topic or going nowhere important.

Tolerance

There is tolerance for different behaviors and different opinions and beliefs which is personally good and good for society. Then there is tolerance for bad behavior and immoral or unethical behavior which is bad for family life and bad for society in general.

Teamwork

Most of us interact socially so cooperative teamwork is not only important in family life but is also important in the workplace. Failure of one individual usually impacts the success of others so everyone working towards common goals responsibly is the key to organizational and family success.

Mentioning traits is one approach to being aware of which ones you display more often but to really understand good traits or good habits you have to read about and make a list of the details or examples of a good trait or good habit. What exactly does it mean to have caring, empathetic, kind, compassionate, considerate, cooperative, sincere, complimenting, and polite traits or good habits? Do your own research by inputting the words followed by list or examples into a search engine and find out a list of behaviors or examples of behaviors which represent each trait category. The more examples of traits that you have on hand, the more successful you will be in incorporating those good examples into your own behavior in the long duration.

Awareness of what your good habits or good traits is important but just as important is an awareness of your bad habits or bad traits. Research examples of bad habits such as severe criticizing, gossiping too much, being pretentious, and talking too much. Other examples of bad traits are arrogance, quarrelsomeness, laziness, stinginess, unhealthy eating and drinking, addiction to drugs, gambling, and pornography, gluttony, excessive pride, promiscuity, etc. which should be mainly eliminated or reduced to a minimum to enhance self esteem and improve your reputation among others.

The road to self improvement starts with knowing thyself. So start out by listing all the good and bad habits that you have and then take actions or realistic steps to improve yourself for a better life for yourself and others who will benefit by your good example or role model.

WHAT DO YOU REALLY NEED OR WANT???

Try to answer these questions as best you can and write them down if you won’t remember some of the answers. You may be surprised how much you will learn about yourself or become conscious of your needs and wants.

Do I know what to do to get to where I want to be or go?

Do I know how to gradually become who I want to be?

Can I list in order of importance the things which I care about the most?

Can I change what is holding me back right now?

Do I know what to do to improve myself and/or my circumstances?

What would I have to sacrifice to get to where I really want to be or go?

Do I feel stuck with something or is there a way out of it that I or someone can see?

Can you list things which you definitely don’t want?

Would it help if I learned something new and useful on almost a daily basis instead of just once a week or month?

What are some examples of good days and how could I increase their number or frequency?

Can I list some short and long duration goals which apply to me?

Do I know that my habits are often short duration goals which are being impulsively achieved on a regular or repetitive basis and often with little planning?

What short duration goals can I add which will help my long duration goals?

Can I list my good and bad habits?

What daily habits, especially bad ones, can I reduce or replace with better habits or goals?

Getting to work on time, preparing a meal, driving a car to a destination, studying for a test, asking a question on a search engine, reading an article, reading a short book, going out on a date with a significant other, etc. can be thought of as short duration habits or short duration goals being achieved.

Preparing for a better job, going to school, taking a course on the internet, learning to play an instrument, raising offspring, saving money to travel to an exotic place, saving money to invest in a business, writing a book, etc. can be thought of as long duration goals in the process of being achieved which require the achievement of short duration goals along the way.

Ultimately the key to a successful and happy life is to personally set realistic goals which match your ability and will hopefully reward your determined efforts. Set many small short term goals and achieve them to gain confidence. Set some large duration goals and work towards them on a regular basis with the hope of achieving them within a reasonable period of time.

Yes, some sacrifice of time, energy, and money will be necessary but actively pursuing short and long duration goals is what makes life worth living and is seldom a boring experience.

Research, read, write something down, think, and do is the road to achievement in a nutshell.

Fundamentally it is all a question of knowing how to improve yourself and your circumstances. The only real difference is in how FAST the improvement becomes or how ambitiously you pursue the improvement. Use search engines to help you answer questions if you don’t know where to start or read a good book on the subject which you are questioning. Best wishes. Uldis

19 IMPORTANT TIPS AND GOOD HABITS FOR A BETTER LIFE!!!

Image of a glossy highway sign on blue sky

Eat healthy organic food and drink whenever possible, exercise a little if you have a sedentary job, and get adequate sleep. Do all three to stay healthy in the long duration.

Analyze yourself and find out if you are more of an extrovert or introvert or a combination of both which is what many humans are. If you have a good memory for names and enjoy interacting with humans then you may have the potential to be a leader and can work on perfecting your emotional intelligence skills. If you can’t remember names very well, don’t enjoy human drama, and prefer to work alone at something then you probably are an introvert and you should work at becoming an expert in your field of expertise. For the average human being competent or skillful at a job and having good social skills will lead to a balanced normal life which most are suited for and with which most will be happy with.

Maintain your integrity because honesty and morality, dependability, and competence creates trust and a good reputation with time. This enduring approach will be admired and respected by most humans.

Learn to budget your money and time and try to focus on what you truly NEED and not on what you WANT, to reduce your dependence on possessions. Everything that you do requires some time, energy, effort, and sometimes much money so learn to wisely budget not only your money but wisely budget your time, energy, and effort too.

Choose your friends wisely by preferring dependable, competent, trustworthy ones with integrity or those honest and moral ones. It also greatly helps if your closest friends motivate you to do better and are themselves humans with ambition and with a drive to be better.

Spend your time wisely and be selective in your friendships classifying them as potential close friends, interesting friends as a source for useful knowledge or shared interests, and possible future useful networking acquaintances. Spend more time with your priority friendships, less time with interesting friends, and minimal time with casual acquaintances.

Be kind to humans if they deserve it and try to help humans who ask for help, even if it is only some sound advice which you think you have and give.

Develop and maintain a curiosity in new useful knowledge, skills, and experiences. Ask many smart questions and get answers from those who might know. Failing at getting a satisfactory answer or acceptable opinions from other humans, you can resort to research or selfeducation to get expert answers.

One of the greatest aids in making change for the better easier is to keep a written journal of useful knowledge and useful new experiences which you have had every week if not every day. When you write things down your conscious and subconscious brain remembers better and when you start thinking you will be doing more than just impulsively rethinking old ideas and reliving old experiences. The real key to constructive personal change is to research and read selectively, write down what you think is important, think about what you have written, and do what inspires you to action.

Be selective in the useful knowledge which you acquire by reading useful books and articles on the internet, especially in your field of expertise or something which interests you much. Verbosity abounds in literary works and historical writings so preferably either read summaries of those works or learn to speed read.

Make short and long duration goals and try to achieve them with courageous determined action. Your confidence will increase as you achieve more and more small and some big goals. Greater confidence will make you feel that you are more in control of your life rather than at the mercy of other humans and bad circumstances.

Get really good at something which can be your work or some hobby that you enjoy much. Expertise is valued in this society and there is sometimes the potential of a monetary payoff or advancement in status. Try not to be a jack of all trades and a master of none. It may be a more interesting life but it usually doesn’t pay as well.

Learn to relax for a few minutes during a stressful work schedule but especially do something less stressful after a hard day’s work. Avoid premature burnout on the job with adequate relaxation periods during and after work.

Learn to laugh somewhat at your mistakes and failures to reduce stress but try to learn something from the experiences and change your behavior so that you don’t make the same mistake or fail the same way a second time.

Go for walks and expose yourself to nature even if it is largely with picture and video experiences. Natural beauty is inspiring and will teach you to appreciate the natural world around you, especially the majestic mountains, waterfalls, and wilderness plants and animals. Exposure to nature is often the best therapy, especially when you feel slightly down or depressed.

Don’t hold grudges or hold in resentment for too long because it will adversely affect relationships. We all get our share of insults, name calling, put downs, ridicule, and humiliation. If this verbal abuse comes from respected trustworthy individuals with integrity then they may have a very good reason to act that way. You should determine what set them off and try to correct or change your behavior the next time. If the abuse comes from a boss then you will either have to put up with it or change jobs.

Stay under emotional control and learn to overcome angry outbursts. Try to discuss topics and problems and not argue about them. If you are momentarily in no mood to discuss a problem then let some time pass first, or delay the discussion for another future time and place when you hopefully will be more in control of your emotions.

Use the internet more as a source for useful information mining and not primarily as a source for pure and often trivial entertainment which doesn’t teach you much worthwhile information. Beware of an addiction to social media because it can become a horrendous toxic time waster.

Finally we are all creatures of good and bad habits. Analyze yourself by researching good and bad habits and make two lists which apply to you. The next logical step would be to reduce or eliminate your bad habits and increase or add on good habits to replace the bad. Easier said than done because it will take much courage, determination, and action to bring about improved results. I have done some research myself so you can search my encyclopedic blog with relevant keywords. Best wishes.

12 STARTER TIPS ON HOW TO IMPROVE YOURSELF!!!

The general key to self improvement is analyzing yourself and your circumstances by writing it all down first, doing some research and writing it all down, and finally making a decision on what you would like to change and what you would like to stay the same and writing it all down.

If you don’t like writing things down then you will need an excellent memory to bypass this critical writing task. Writing it down will help you to THINK which is what most humans no longer do much of.

If you have nothing new to think about then you will just be impulsively rethinking what you already know and won’t be making any serious useful changes in your life.

Research: v. to investigate systematically

Make a list of healthy foods to eat. Research good or healthy foods if you don’t know where to start or what they are.

Make a list of your good and bad habits. Research good and bad habits if you don’t know where to start or what they are.

List your personality traits. Research personality traits or characteristics if you don’t know where to start or what they are.

Keep a diary of things that you do every day and about how much time you spend doing those things. After a month review your entries and find out what your priorities in life are by noting what you spend the most time at doing.

Write down important goals to do in a week, month, year, and five years from now. Research important goals if you don’t know where to start or what they are.

Google something which interests you or research interesting things to do, read, view, etc.

Learn to budget your money and time.

Take a free online course in your field.

Learn to do something new and useful with YouTube tutorials.

Write an e-book and self publish it if you enjoy writing and have a specialty.

The basic key to self improvement is – Find out detailed information about yourself or who you are and what you do. Then decide what you would like to be like, and what you would like to do that you are not doing already.

Finally have the courage, determination, and selfmotivation to make the changes in your life for hopefully the better. Courageously make those new goals and take action to make them a reality or achieve them.

Improve: v. to change a subset(s) so that it is more in (value and/or (goodness and or rightness)) and/or (quality and/or usefulness) and/or (desirability and/or health).

The change may be done by adding what is absent and/or needed and/or desired and/or by subtracting what is nonessential or undesirable

*Search my encyclopedic blog since I have researched most of those many topics to some extent for you. eg. bad habits, good habits, characteristics, goals, healthy foods, etc.

Happy reading, writing, thinking, and doing!!!

THE TRUTH ABOUT SELFESTEEM!!!

T-ImproveSelfEsteem-enHD-AR1

Selfesteem or a sense of selfworth is really a balancing act between two extremes. At one extreme too much selfesteem can translate into a very narcissistic selfish human who ignores others too much and at the other extreme too little selfesteem can translate into a very depressed, lonely, unhappy human with a sense of great inferiority.

Society values attractive, well educated, professional, and wealthy humans with good families if they chose to have them. Society also values celebrities and if you evaluate your selfesteem based on celebrity performance then you will always feel wanting more out of your life.

If you are unattractive, badly educated, have a bad job or no job, and have a dysfunctional family life then chances are that you will not have a healthy balance of selfesteem.

Useful education or an ability to selfeducate yourself as an adult is the primary path to better selfesteem. Learning new useful knowledge and skills for a better job or better relationships is the only real way to improve yourself to the point where you begin to feel good about yourself and your life and start having justified healthy selfesteem.

If you come from a dysfunctional family then unfortunately you will have a hard time developing healthy selfesteem because chances are great that your relationships with others will also be highly dysfunctional.

How does an adult improve their personality if it has many flaws originating in a bad childhood? Some are fortunate and with dogged determination and making connections with moral healthy optimistic adults or good role models gradually work their way out of personality handicaps. Most are handicapped for life and just try to make the best of what they took from society and what they were given by the role models whom they associated with.

If you are an adult struggling with low selfesteem then you can try to do something about it by researching personality traits and pinpointing your weaknesses and strengths or bad and good habits. Then gradually work at improving your weaknesses or bad habits and get rid of your bad role model friends. Start replacing them with better role model friends once you get your own personality in better shape so you will be more readily accepted by these better role model friends.

A good life is having useful abilities and associating with good humans so start acquiring those useful abilities as soon as possible and start improving your life so your selfesteem will improve with it!!!

THE TRUTH ABOUT SUBCONSCIOUSNESS+

conscious-subconscious

Subconsiousness: n. unconscious impulsive brain activity while awake which influences our behavior to a large degree, especially good and/or bad habits

Despite popular myth that the conscious mind determines most of what we do in life the truth is that the subconscious rules supreme and makes impulsive choices based on prior experiences in our daily lives which are really our good and bad habits repeating themselves over and over again.

Very little conscious decision making is part of the lives of most humans and most of us behave on the subconscious level unless there is a crisis or severe emotional experience which changes our subconscious behavior for good or bad.

To use a bad analogy, our conscious behavior is the iceberg which we theoretically see or can control and the huge subconscious is the iceberg below the water level which we theoretically can’t see or can’t control which is the major part of our behavior and decision making process.

THE TRUTH ABOUT ADDICTIONS+

Cycle-of-Addiction1

Addiction: n. compulsively desiring a subset(s)

We are all addicted to good and bad habits and grey ones which are good or bad depending on the circumstances.

Human nature is basically doing things impulsively or habitually in a predictable routine way because we don’t have to always stop ourselves and ask- is what I am doing right or wrong?

Doing something bad once in a while will usually not doom you to a life of debauchery or ruin an otherwise good reputation and you may even get some satisfaction out of doing so.  A little speeding on the highway, occasional arguing, occasional criticizing, some jealousy, a little pornography, a little gambling, and getting drunk once in a while will usually not adversely affect your life unless it becomes a compulsion or it is repeated much too frequently.

Compulsive eating, drinking, drug taking, gambling, pornography, lust, masturbation, arguing,  complaining, criticizing, jealousy, envy, abuse, talking, depression, laziness, procrastination, etc. can lead to severe problems in life and it is basically your responsibility to realize that what you are doing is getting out of control and causing you much unhappiness.

Chemical addictions can be devastating but many of your dysfunctional emotional addictions or personality flaws can also cause many problems and ultimate unhappiness.

If you can afford the time and money then rehab may be a solution to your drug addiction and it always helps to have supportive friends and family. If you have bad friends and bad family then unfortunately a near death experience may be the fear which shocks you into finally doing something about your terrible addiction on your own.

After rehab the worst thing that you can possibly do is to go back to the same environment and addicted friends who will trigger your need for the drug all over again and cause you to relapse. Change your living quarters and drop your addicted friends and try to find better ones if at all possible if you truly want a fresh new start in life.

Most bad addictions are not life threatening and the key to reducing their bad influence on your life is to gradually replace them with good addictions or good habits which you enjoy doing. Search my blog under bad habits and good habits because the first key to solving an addiction is to realize that you have a bad habit and the next step is to start replacing it with one or more good habits which you enjoy doing.

Addictions to immorality are the worst. If you are addicted to lying, stealing, and adultery then your social reputation will be in the toilet and you may begin to feel that the world is against you at every turn and unhappiness will cling to you like a parasite.

Your delusional ego may be telling you that there is no need for improvement in your life. Do some reading and research and find out whether this is truly the case.

Going through life blinded by your selfish ego is not a sure way to successful living so try to make the best of your moments on this precious earth. Enjoy life to the fullest with true selfawareness gotten from wise humans who have lived life and have gone through the same shit that you are going through successfully.

10 MENTAL TIME WASTERS!!!

time waster quote

This article by Geoffrey James has 10 mental habits which are a waste of time. Not mentioned is the fact that unless you are in retirement with nothing important to do there are physical and mental time wasters which piss away even more of your precious time. Playing video games, watching mediocre TV programs, especially depressing local news, spending too much time on Facebook and texting, and spending too much time with the wrong humans are also bad time wasting habits.

You should set aside time for meditation on a regular basis but you were given only so much time on the face of this earth and it is a crime if you don’t learn to use that time to the fullest doing things which you like which help you to acquire new knowledge and experiences which can make your life more purposeful, interesting and rewarding.

THE TRUTH ABOUT INTUITION***

intuition

Intuition: n. doing an impulsive judgment(s) which is thought to be based primarily on instinct and/or habit and it is frequently done without the use of current reasoning but past reasoning may be influential in samer impulsive judgment(s)

If you are doing something rather impulsively then you are probably using much intuition which just means that you are making snap judgments or reactions without thinking it over. Most good intuition comes from a history of experiences with similar situations and humans and even times when we logically thought about a situation or reasoned before we reacted.

Most humans, when not on a thinking job, do not usually take a few seconds time out to think about a situation before they react so much of our behavior is really intuition or going with our impulsive feelings or habits.

We also sometimes use our intuition when we have thought about a situation and can’t seem to come up with the right thing to do. Sometimes when a situation is urgent and some kind of reaction is expected from us then we may go with our impulsive feeling about the situation or use our intuition to guide us.

The superiority of women’s intuition is culturally considered a reality and probabilistically it may be true when decisions have to be made socially about humans. Most women are just more social than men and are frequently better judges of character, conversations, and social nuances than most men. What that really means is that many women have more emotional intelligence than men and would do well in leadership positions if it were not for the slightly more aggressiveness in most men.

Whether male or female most humans in leadership positions are frequently relatively good judges of character and emotions. They have much emotional intelligence although some have relatively little actual smart or intelligent behavior when it comes to solving problems or finding solutions to problems themselves.

When in doubt but you have to make an urgent decision, intuition is what you can use and make corrections later on if you have made the wrong intuitive decision. The more experienced you are with similar situations and problems the better your intuition becomes about those situations and problems.

Why do many employers want someone with job experience? Because their job intuition is better than for someone without the job experience and chances are they will make fewer mistakes on the job and show up on time.

THE TRUTH ABOUT HABITS***

good-habits

Habit: n. an action(s) done so frequently by an animal that it becomes a relatively frequent largely impulsive behavior(s)

Some general habits are vital such as eating, drinking, walking, communicating, and sleeping. What you eat, drink, and communicate is subject to some change so you can improve those sub habits and exclude any bad ones which you may have.

Most habits are rather impulsive and not easily changeable and an awareness of what habits you have is the first step towards improving them if that is what you want to do.

To change habits you can decrease or increase the time spent on them, you can change the composition of the habits, and you can exclude habits or introduce new ones.

Bad habits are difficult to change since you are probably getting some satisfaction out of them so first decreasing the time spent on them is frequently a wise choice. Totally and quickly excluding a bad habit may be necessary in a crisis situation but the smart thing to do is to gradually reduce the time spent on a bad habit.

What do you replace the bad habit with? A good habit which may mean increasing the time spent on a good habit or introducing a new good habit to replace some or all of the old bad habit.

Prioritizing your goals in life will help you to decide what you want to do more of and what you would like to gradually decrease in your life.

While addictive bad habits like gambling, pornography, promiscuity, impulsive excessive shopping, drugs, and alcohol need serious change your most important priority is healthy eating and drinking and that means including more and more organic food and drink into your daily habits. Get plenty of sleep and you are well on your way to a healthy body which is the foundation of a healthy mind too.

To improve the health of your mind and keep it from stagnating with old habitual thoughts learn new useful skills and new useful knowledge and that means spending time researching and reading something useful as frequently as possible.

Bad friends and bad relationships are also bad habits which can decrease your health and happiness so consider starting to decrease the time spent with them. If you have bad relationships with offspring and spouse and you are mostly to blame for this situation then seriously try to change your behavior or call it quits and get a divorce and exit the family with your unchanging bad personality.

Good and bad habits are your lifestyle. The habits or the repetitive things which you do in life will change some even if you don’t plan it that way and it is your responsibility to try and make good habits dominate more of your lifestyle when changes are made.

Good habits are just as addictive as bad habits so try to stay addicted to the good ones for greater health and happiness in your life.

THE TRUTH ABOUT CUSTOMS***

customsGlobe

Custom: n. a similar habitual behavior(s) done by a group of two or more people but the group is frequently as large as an ethnic group or a nation

Customs are the common or similar habits of a group of humans which may be as small as a family or it can be as large as a nation or group of nations.

Celebrating the fourth of July may be a United States custom but there are still very many in the nation who do not celebrate it so that not all customs are practiced by every member of a relatively large group. The smaller the group, the more probable it is that more than a majority practice the custom.

Eating certain foods, dressing in national attire, singing folk songs, telling folk tales or stories, and practicing a certain religion used to make regional customs rather unique.

Today with so many having international exposure and the internet playing such a major role in transforming cultures, local and national customs are either dying out or being assimilated or transformed by humans worldwide.

The quest for newness may overwhelm humans who will be trying out new foods, new fashions, new songs, new movies, and new products. Commonly held customs will become so diverse that there will be little left of national identities all replaced to some extent by an international mass culture.

A global community sharing similar customs is still pretty far off into the future and some Muslims are violently resisting globalized mass culture.

THE TRUTH ABOUT FREQUENCY***

frequency-wavelength

Frequency: n. the number of similar and/or different subset(s) per unit of time

One of the greatest errors in logic is assuming the world is black or white, good or bad, yes or no, always or never, antonym or synonym, right or wrong when the real way of looking at the world is judging it with frequency or thinking infrequently, sometimes, frequently, and very frequently or rarely, not often, sometimes, quite often, and almost all the time. Often means the same thing as frequently so I try not to use it because I am trying to eliminate synonyms in my writing and keep it as logical as possible.

Judging whether you have a good or bad habit or if someone else has a good or bad habit is to ask how frequently is it existing? If you are doing something good very frequently then you probably have a good habit and if you are doing something bad very frequently then you probably have a bad habit.

Before stereotyping or name calling an individual ask yourself how frequently does the stereotype exist? If a human is foolish very frequently then they could potentially be called a fool but if the frequency of the foolish actions is low then it is inappropriate to try and label someone a fool.

An important question to ask yourself is how frequently am I doing something or how frequently are you doing something? If you are unhappy then by asking how frequently you are unhappy you can judge whether it is a problem or something quite natural. If you are unhappy once a day  for a relatively short time then you have nothing to worry about but if you are unhappy four times a day or unhappy all day long then maybe you need a change in your lifestyle. In effect, if you are frequently unhappy then start to worry and maybe try to do something about it.

If you are called stupid, crazy, or lazy once a month then you probably have nothing to worry about but if you are called stupid, crazy, or lazy once a day or once every two days then your stupid, crazy, or lazy frequency is great and you may have to start worrying about it and maybe start changing your behavior.

In a command and obey world  with a command and obey language usage you are very frequently asked to do something and your choices are limited to yes or no or doing something or not doing it and this brainwashes you into thinking that it is a yes or no world.

The more mature you get and the more logical your mind becomes the more you realize that instead of a yes or no, white or black world that there are frequently shades of grey also and that many arguments and misunderstandings are started with a right or wrong mentality when the real way of judging is realizing that it might be mostly or partly right or mostly or partly wrong.

My wife without a logical science background was a perfect example of language brainwashing and frequently said “You always do that” when in fact I did it sometimes and it seemed to her that I did it all the time!!!!!!
