We all have many bad habits which have become part of our everyday lives and if we eliminate them from our lives then what do we replace them with to fill the void? Replace them partially or totally with good habits.

In a nutshell the good habits are

eating and drinking healthy,

moderately exercising or moving around physically,

financial responsibility,

working smart and hard,

having good relationships with important humans in your life,

improving yourself with new useful knowledge and skills,

and taking time out to think about the priorities or goals in your life and making small adjustments as needed or drastically changing the priorities in an emergency or crisis situation.

In a nutshell the bad habits are

eating and drinking unhealthy,

not exercising or moving around much,

financial irresponsibility,

working stupidly or doing the minimum amount of work,

having bad relationships with important humans in your life,

not improving yourself with new useful knowledge and skills,

not taking time out to think about and readjust the priorities or goals in your life,

not being prepared for emergency or crisis situations,

and being trapped in bad addictive chemical behaviors.

Addiction: n. compulsively desiring a subset(s)

Addictions are usually thought of as addictions to a chemical substance frequently accompanied by severe withdrawal symptoms but processed food and drinks are also filled with lopsided chemicals some of which humans are addicted to such as sugar, caffeine, and carbohydrates. The withdrawal symptoms are sometimes increased anxiety and cravings for the food or drink.

I like to think of important bad habits as addictions to important bad behaviors with withdrawal symptoms similar to food and drink or noticeable increases in anxiety or craving for the bad behavior. The truth is that good habits are also addictions which you can develop a craving for. The choice is yours. Which addictions do you want in your life?

Sexual and gambling addictions or compulsions can do much harm to their addicts who definitely develop cravings for the bad behavior habits when isolated from them. Not everyone gets addicted to compulsive shopping, promiscuity, pornography, or gambling so if one does it a little or sometimes does some in moderation then it can’t be considered to be an addiction or bad behavior all the time or in every instance.

In a crisis situation you may have to go cold turkey or exclude the bad habit completely from your life. Realistically most bad habits are eliminated or reduced in small steps with good habits eventually getting lengthier time wise and more frequent and gradually replacing the old bad habits.

If you are eating unhealthy then start introducing tasty healthy organic snacks and eventually tasty healthy organic ingredients into your meals. Even organic food and drinks are not always tasty so feel free to add your own spices and sugar free sauces to the organic food and drink to suit your taste.

Keep gradually increasing the frequency and quantity of the organic food and drink. Eventually the tasty healthy organic food and drink will replace much of the unhealthy food and drink in your life if you unrelentingly persist in your goal of more healthy eating.

Sure society is so structured that becoming an organic fanatic is not only expensive but hard to do, especially with meat, and if you indulge in unhealthy eating once in a while then don’t feel guilty about it because it will not kill you or ruin your health dramatically.

Unfortunately the herd instinct or doing what others around you are doing is a very compelling force and it is very hard to overcome. This is why you should seriously consider finding new best friends with more good habits which you hope to get and leave behind your old best friends with the old bad habits which you have and want to get rid of.

If your best friends eat unhealthy, don’t exercise, are financially irresponsible, don’t like to work, have bad relationships with important humans, and have severe chemical or behavioral addictions or compulsions then the chances are that you will never rid yourself or decrease those bad habits in your life.

Birds of a feather tend to flock together and if you find yourself a member of a group of humans addicted to many bad habits then the situation for improvement is hopeless unless you miraculously become an independent selfmotivated good habit fanatic and live a life of relative seclusion or isolation.

Many humans have large egos and feel that they have almost no bad habits to get rid of. Knowing what a bad habit is or selfawareness is the first step on the road to a better you!!!!!!

Even after selfawareness you may feel that you are getting too much pleasure or satisfaction from your bad habits to want to change them. That is why the freedom to choose is such a heavy personal responsibility for all adult humans and many choose wrongly in the short duration and end up in misery in the long duration with bad health, financial bankruptcy, bad relationships, a bad lifestyle, and sometimes even death.

All good and bad habits start in childhood so you are truly at an unfair or unjust advantage if you have parents, relatives, childhood friends, and teachers with many good habits who serve as good role models.

There is the healthy natural wilderness environment at one extreme and an unhealthy artificial human made environment of apartments, commercial buildings, roads, and transportation vehicles at the other extreme in many cities.

Even many suburbs are devoid of animals other than cats and dogs and there is frequently only grass and some ornamental shrubbery which can’t support wildlife and make it thrive. A ride through many suburbs at night is like a ride through a cemetery devoid of animal life.

The result of this brainwashing is that nature is seldom respected and admired by the inhabitants of cities and suburbanites and they are major pollution sources which makes the surrounding environment frequently unhealthy and impossible for animal habitation.

A biodiverse food supply is being devastated by monoculture agricultural lands and factory style farms producing unhealthy produce loaded with pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, artificial fertilizers, GMO’s, antibiotics, growth hormones, and animals reproducing with artificial insemination who frequently can’t breed naturally any longer. Too many don’t respect natural biodiversity anymore and in the quest for the all mighty dollar or profit the food is becoming more unhealthy with each passing year.

If it wasn’t for a small and growing organic food industry there would be no long duration hope for a sustainable biodiverse healthy food supply.

You are what you eat and what you surround yourself with. Too many modern humans are eating unhealthy crappy food and surrounding themselves with a lifeless environment or a coffin of the mind and body.

Humanity is gradually poisoning itself and its offspring with an unhealthy living style without a respect and conservation of natural biodiversity which is the only hope of a future healthy food supply when we pollute all our domestic plants and animals and make them too unhealthy to eat.

Will humanity quickly switch to sustainable living with minimum pollution and a reduction in human numbers? Current trends don’t support this vital necessary change and future generations will suffer our neglectful treatment of the environment. Poison the earth and destroy wilderness and you will inevitably poison all the humans and wildlife living in it.

Worshiping the environment, behaving accordingly, and not exploiting it for short duration profit is the only hope for long duration survival of humans on the face of this precious endangered planet.

Large group of foods

Eat as much unprocessed certified organic food in all its varieties as you can afford. If you do like soups or meat medium rare then cook them as minimally as possible. To get micronutrients in your diet add a wide variety of spices in barely detectable quantities to your food or take a teaspoon of bee pollen once in a while.

Don’t fall for the myth of low fat, low carbohydrate, low protein food being good for you or some heavy emphasis on a one food diet fad. You should eat and experiment with a wide variety of foods rich in fats, proteins, and carbohydrates because you need all three categories to stay healthy. Don’t just over eat the few overly processed foods which you are addicted to.

Unless you are allergic to one kind of food eat EVERYTHING whose taste is not repulsive to you. That includes some processed foods once in a while and your eating will never become boring or unhealthy and you will need no unnatural food supplements in lopsided unnatural quantities!!!!!!

Get over the myth that certain foods will help you to lose weight. They won’t and the only way that you will lose weight is to go on a permanent starvation diet which means eating less than what your body is demanding. Take diet pills to reduce weight or eat just a handful of fad diet foods and you will ruin your metabolism and health in the long duration and never lose any weight permanently.

Finally eat ONLY WHEN YOU ARE HUNGRY and that may mean only one varied meal a day or every two days. It is a myth that sedentary humans need to eat three times a day or many small amounts of food five or six times a day.


Stop being a fanatic or paranoid about the food which may contain pesticides, herbicides, GMO’s, antibiotics, growth hormones, preservatives, etc. If you do eat some of these foods occasionally it will not destroy your health or metabolism in the long duration. Stick with certified organic food as much as possible but you don’t have to make eating them an absolute rule in your life because you will be passing up a few of life’s tasty processed sweet food treats such as chocolate and deserts.

Biodiversity is speedily being destroyed in this world. Not only is wilderness real estate being destroyed leading to species extinction, especially the predators at the top of the food chain but food biodiversity is also being reduced drastically with monoculture agricultural techniques.

Wilderness biodiversity is the only safety net which we will have for a healthy food supply when domesticated plants and animals will become unhealthy with the overuse of pesticides, herbicides, artificial fertilizers, factory assembly line growing,  growth hormones, antibiotics, untested GMO’s, and artificial insemination.

Human selection for only a few traits such as beauty, fat content, size, and breeding productivity in cats and dogs has demonstrated that unhealthy animals and human dependent plants which can’t breed in the wild are the result in the long duration. Humans are just not as smart in selecting the healthiest and best animal and plant specimens to reproduce as nature is.


Nature selects plants and animals based on thousands of desirable traits and humans select only based on a few desirable traits. The result is that many human designed species of plants and animals are not the healthiest or most disease resistant species in the long duration.

Our domesticated food supply is in the long duration in danger of succumbing to unforeseen catastrophic diseases and extinction and natural biodiversity is the only safety net which we will have to rely upon when human manipulation of domesticated species fails miserably.

Humans are polluting our genetic food supply with the help of technology which results in many unfavorable unhealthy species for the long duration.

Beware!!!!!! Destroy biodiversity and you destroy future human civilization as well!!!!!!

The power to tax is the power to destroy or severely handicap and non-polluting businesses should be encouraged to thrive without taxation. There are thousands of non-polluting businesses which would qualify but the most basic and important is food. 

Unfortunately this also includes gambling establishments so it would be unwise to exclude gambling establishments from taxation since they cause so much financial stress and human ruin which creates a financial burden on society.

Rather we should start with the most important commodity food, and encourage certified organic food growers and organic food businesses to thrive without taxation.

Certified organic food should be licensed with severe penalties for not growing the food organically. Certified organic food should mean growing without polluting artificial pesticides, fungicides, and herbicides, without artificial fertilizers and no GMOs. For certified organic animals it means no antibiotics, growth hormones, or non organic feed. If the fertilizers are organic such as manure from organic domesticated animals or organic plant sources such as seaweed or kelp or organic ocean fish and life then that is fine.

Certified organic wholesalers, supermarkets, organic fast food, and organic restaurants would also not be taxed.

Polluting agribusiness will continue to be taxed and will consider this unfair or unjust treatment but if they want just treatment then they will all eventually have to switch to sustainable non-polluting certified organic farming.

What is the payoff? A healthier more diverse food supply and a healthier human population in the long duration!!!!!!

Food and pure water should be priority number one in every human’s life. The sooner we start promoting a certified organic food culture nationally and internationally, the healthier will be the society, at least physically if not mentally.
