THE TRUTH ABOUT CONCLUSION+

Conclusion

Conclusion: n. a judgment and/or decision made relatively impulsively and/or after some reasoning

Most conclusions are reached relatively impulsively but in science and statistical analyses some mathematically based reasoning is used.

Reasoning is only possible with accurate definitions and unfortunately in most subjective subject areas of the liberal arts very little reason exists if at all since so much of the reasoning is not based on logical principles but most conclusions are made based on prior subjective human experience and subjective human consensus or norms.

What is also a truism is that very frequently there are really more than one conclusions which can be made after evaluating circumstances and factual evidence. Most causes do not just result in a single effect but in many effects from which you often have to choose one or prioritize the many possible conclusions in terms of relevance. Many causes almost never result in one conclusion only or one effect but many effects are possible.

THE TRUTH ABOUT ILLOGICAL*

illogical

Illogical: adj. not using reason to achieve a goal(s) and/or not impulsively making a reasonable conclusion(s)

Very few of us really think logically because that means that you are using well defined words and thinking through the possible correspondences between the words and/or events. Cause effect analyses are also ways of making logical decisions based on cause effect correspondences but most of this type of thinking takes place impulsively based on prior experiences with these cause effect relationships.

To do something illogically is to do something which doesn’t make any sense or much sense and is considered unreasonable also. Illogical actions are usually impulsive reactions to the environment and everything in it and any great deviation from normative reactions are often considered to be illogical reactions too.

An illogical conclusion would be to evaluate all the present evidence and facts known about the earth and conclude that the earth is flat.

THE TRUTH ABOUT INDULGE*

web-logo2

Indulge: v. to fulfill desires impulsively and fully which occasionally results in undesirable behavior with potential bad consequences

Indulge yourself and satisfy yourself are very similar in meaning although indulging implies that you are doing mostly impulsive behaviors which you enjoy doing and which sometimes adversely affect you. Indulging in sweets is an example of fulfilling an immediate desire which may not be healthy for you in the long duration if done too frequently.

Indulging by eating your favorite foods mostly benefits you and is considered a selfish behavior by some although realistically you are also benefiting the grower and seller of that food so most theoretically selfish actions really benefit some other humans too in this interdependent world that most humans live in.
