THE TRUTH ABOUT RESTITUTION+

images

Restitution: n. returning to a lifeform(s) what was stolen and/or lost

Restitution is desirable if you offend, hurt, or steal from someone.

If you steal someone’s dignity by offending them or stealing their dignity with undeserved harsh criticism, ridicule, name calling, and put downs then an apology or doing a small favor is usually the restitution needed.

If you break a borrowed tool then repairing it or replacing it with a new or used tool is appropriate restitution.

If you steal property form someone then returning it, paying for it, or going to jail are all forms of possible restitution.

If you steal real estate from wildlife then the proper form of restitution is to eventually return it to their rightful owners or wildlife.

Restitution for killing someone or restoring them to life is not possible so some believe in the death penalty or life imprisonment as a severe consequence.

If you intentionally lie or steal the truth then you may be forgiven a few times by humans who depend on you financially but if you are a habitual liar then you will be ostracized by humans and your reputation will be ruined. No restitution will be possible. You may start out fresh with a potentially good reputation in another part of the country or world but if your lies continue then it is just a matter of time before you become a social pariah where you move to.

Restitution is possible for many things in life but death and a ruined reputation are usually not subject to restitution.

THE TRUTH ABOUT SADNESS***

slide_355796_3908270_free

Sadness: n. sensing a small intensity mental displeasure frequently because of the loss and/or departure of a subset(s)

Sadness is a form or subset of unhappiness which is less intense than grief and is an emotional response to losing something of value, having to leave an enjoyable circumstance, or having to say goodbye to a dear human or playmate.

What causes grief in some humans only causes sadness in others frequently because there has not been a strong enough attachment or bond.

THE TRUTH ABOUT YEARNING***

yearning

Yearn: v. to intensely desire a lost and/or prior experience(s)

Do you yearn to be in the presence of a deceased or divorced spouse again or do you yearn to run again after a severe leg injury? These are all desires to repeat a past experience which you may or may not be able to do again in your lifetime.

Yearning to do what you can’t do is just fond memories and if you like yearning then desire something which you can realistically do at some point in the future.

Retirement sometimes is filled with yearning to be young again and do all the exciting things which you could do in the past. It is smart to get over this yearning and concentrate on and desire the things which you still can do in your life.

WHAT IS PSYCHOLOGICAL DEATH?

download (4)

We all understand physical death and we fear it but few of us realize that there is also psychological death which is the end or death of a relationship and/or reputation and/or possession. Fear of psychological death or fearful anxiety is based on knowing in our mind that we have a relationship, reputation, and possessions and fearing that we will lose that relationship, reputation, or possessions.

It is true that once a relationship, reputation, or possession ends it still lingers in the conscious and subconscious mind and there is sometimes slight hope that the relationship, reputation, or possession can be resurrected but for all practical purposes most of us accept the loss as a permanent death and sometimes mourn it when it happens.

Much of our behavior is motivated by fear or the fear of losing something and we act accordingly.

Not wanting our good social reputation to die we frequently tell the truth, dress and look a certain way, and behave in ways which we think are appropriate to relationships and generally consider our behavior to be psychologically safe and hope it will not cause failure, criticism, ostracism, or censure.

We fear the end or death of something which we value or believe in and are psychologically distressed and even saddened if we can no longer experience something which we value, believe, or find pleasure in.

Fortunately many of us are motivated by a desire to achieve something good or pleasurable. However, most of us do not have the courage to overcome our handicapping fears and infrequently bravely venture forth trying to achieve good goals and experiences which are frequently risky or even dangerous but having them makes many lives fulfilling and worth living.

CONCLUSION:

Fear of psychological death frequently causes us to be less courageous and adventurous than we ought to be.  Overcoming many of those fears is the key to a happy life and frequently a successful one. An optimistic attitude that we are not as stupid, crazy, incompetent, and powerless as we think we are can greatly help us to overcome many fears of psychological death which we all have.

Anxiety: n. an unpleasant sensing of uncertainty and/or low to medium intensity fear resulting from the anticipation of a (realistic and/or fantasized dangerous event(s)) and/or (threatening event(s) and/or circumstance(s))
