Ambiguity: n. a communication having two or more different meanings and/or vague meanings
Ambiguity frequently arises when words have multiple meanings and appear in a communication and potentially cause considerable confusion. Ambiguous phrases can also cause confusion when closely associated and each having a slightly or greatly varying message. Using very vague words can also cause ambiguity.
