INTROSPECTION QUESTIONS DURING MEDITATION!!!

Meditation is an ideal time to relax and do some introspection by thinking and trying to find answers to some important questions to guide the thinking in a constructive way.

Asking yourself introspective questions about yourself and trying to answer them goes a long way towards selfawareness and the possibility for future improvement if you determine to do something about it and act on your revelations about yourself.

Here is a list of some important questions to ponder while meditating:

Do I accept my appearance as it is or is there something which I am so unhappy about that it needs possible cosmetic surgery?

Am I happy with my mind, smartness, emotions, mood, humor, and personality or should I try for improvement with new useful knowledge, research, new useful skills, and necessary behavior changes?

Am I eating enough healthy organic food and drink, sleeping enough, and exercising enough to minimize personal illness?

What are some of my bad behaviors which need to be changed?

Am I critical or ashamed of some obsessive, compulsive, jealous, and mean thoughts or behavior and want to change this?

Am I critical and want to change my depression, anger, impatience, intolerance, irritability, and pessimism?

Is there some behavior which I hate enough to change and do I feel confident that I can stop hating or decrease the hatred on my own?

Do I feel competent about work and confident with human interactions or is there room for possible improvement with enough selfdetermination?

Am I so selfcentered that my ego expresses itself in arrogant hurtful ways?

Do I want to be respected and possibly admired by maintaining my integrity and trying to be more trustworthy, dependable, competent, friendly, and empathetic with others?

Meditation: n. thinking without anxiety and/or emotion

Some meditation is primitive or minimal thinking such as concentrating on breathing in and out or visualizing a peaceful landscape and little else. This meditation can be helpful if you are very stressed and emotionally keyed up and it can help you to relax.

However, meditation can also be quietly thinking about a subject without anxiety and/or emotion. If you have had an unpleasant confrontation or have a difficult problem to solve then calmly thinking about it in your spare time can frequently lead to a better understanding of the situation and the meditation can actually lead to a beneficial future solution.

The best meditation is meditation with a purpose. Meditation can be to calm you emotionally and/or it can be to solve problems. If you learn or succeed in meditating then not only will you calm yourself down when needed but you may actually find solutions to problems in your life too.

THE TRUTH ABOUT COMFORT

Comfort: v. to sense mild pleasure without stress and/or anxiety and/or pain

When we are without stress, anxiety, and pain most of us feel comfortable although some may want to add having creature comforts like a nice bed, nice meal, comforting music, a house with appliances as also being necessary to feel comfortable in ones surroundings.

Most of us enjoy a comfortable feeling but others thrive on activity and stress and don’t enjoy comfort as much as most of us. Those who don’t like comfort may in fact feel guilty or uneasy if they are not constantly engaged in some kind of activity and they are frequently hyperactive personalities.

For those of us with much stress in our lives, much anxiety, and even pain it is a smart thing to try and relax for at least an hour or two before bedtime in relative comfort and to get plenty of sleep to recharge our bodies with energy for the next day’s dose of activity. Resting in mental and physical comfort a little during the day with meditation or before bedtime is a good way to balance an otherwise hectic life.

Some of us enjoy a comfortable life so much that we are not willing to take on new responsibilities or experience new things which would improve our lives. Those who love comfort too much are usually not that ambitious and are frequently satisfied with a status quo existence.

It is generally true that lazy humans enjoy comfort more than the rest of us.

THE TRUTH ABOUT STRESS

Working too feverishly, having too much to do, making many mistakes, having many serious problems in life, having too much responsibility, too much worrying, and having unhappy relationships can all cause unhealthy stress levels.

Job stress can sometimes be decreased by trying to schedule your time better and spending more time on important priorities and spending less time on relatively unimportant priorities. Taking some time out to plan ahead and work in a controlled orderly way is much better than working relatively randomly and chaotically which is what stress frequently originates from.

You relieve stress by taking some time out to do stressless things or by living more responsibly. If responsible living and working does not relieve severe stress on the job or in family life then the only option may be to change to a less stressful job or to get a divorce.

Daily stress relief may mean taking some time off to meditate, think about happy things, exercise, a bath, a massage, listening to music, or viewing a movie, video, or the TV. Getting enough sleep is frequently priority number two after eating and drinking healthy. To handle stress optimally you need to recharge your body with good food and good sleep on almost a daily basis.

If humans in your life are causing you stress then try to avoid them as much as is possible or read up on relationship books or articles which make suggestions on how to improve your relationship skills. Change your philosophy from “everything that you do annoys me” to “most of the things that you do don’t affect or phase me”.

Stress: n. (personal and/or human(s) demand(s)) and/or (environmental demand(s) and/or pressures) which affect an organism’s complete reaction(s)

STRESSED OUT??? CHANGE OR SWITCH TO 20 THINGS WHICH ARE NOT AS STRESSFUL!!!!!!

It may not be obvious to everyone but the key to stress relief is switching to doing something which is not stressful. Here are some stressless things which you can do at home or on the job.

RELIEVE STRESS AT HOME OR AWAY FROM HOME–

Associate with non-work friends

Relax with your favorite music

Use your hands and not computer for an interesting hobby

Get a massage

Take a walk preferably outdoors

Pray, meditate, or think about something other than work

Read or watch something which makes you laugh

Stop arguing over politics, sports, religion, or beliefs which you can’t change

Have some sex

Breathe deeply

Take a shower or bath

Exercise

RELIEVE STRESS ON THE JOB–

Celebrate small successes with food and/or drink

Stop thinking about past mistakes or failures as being overly important because they will probably be unimportant a month or year from now

Do many similar small tasks all at once

Divide a large task into smaller steps

Be more selective in your information intake so you don’t drown in it

Don’t procrastinate at a task because you will be stressed when you start running out of time

Don’t work evenings and weekends except in emergencies

Find a less stressful job

WHAT IS MEDITATION AND CAN IT HELP YOU?

Meditation

Definition

Meditation is concentrated focus upon a sound and/or object and/or visualization and/or the breath and/or movement and/or attention itself to increase focusing on the present moment to reduce stress and promote relaxation and to theoretically help personal and mental growth.

Meditate: v. to think without anxiety and/or emotion

Meditation claims to reduce stress and is a form of relaxation and theoretically helps personal and mental growth.  Other claims include improved concentration and decreased blood pressure and reduced stress and anxiety and enhanced immune function

Whatever its form meditation is some time spent doing or thinking about something else other than what you are thinking or doing most of the time. It is basically a pause in your life which is meant to refresh you.

Medication works basically by redirecting your daily thoughts and body motions into almost no thoughts and minimal or no body motions.

Having almost no thoughts and no body motions is very close to what could be considered to be sleeping and you may not have to go to this extreme to relax your mind and body.

Mentally repeating a phrase or chanting a phrase and simple repetitive body movements is one way of meditating.

Sitting in a chair and puffing on a cigarette without inhaling or sipping on a healthy drink and thinking about how you could do your job better or thinking about something other than your job is a form of meditation or reality thinking which can be more useful in your life than escapist meditation techniques with seemingly no purposeful activity going on.

Sleep is the best form of mediation and you should get enough of it at night but during the day take some breaks and redirect your mind and body into a relaxed circumstance where you can purposefully think about how to do your job better or how to improve your daily life or think about something pleasurable which you would want to do in the future with family or friends or acquaintances.

Purging your mind of thinking logically and rationally during the day is what meditation tries to do and it is not the most effective technique to correspond your mind and body to real life living.

When you rest you should with as little emotion as possible rationally and logically think about what you are doing or have done or what you will be doing in the future and analyze it in your mind and ask the most important question-How can I function better in the future given my present and past circumstances?

You can meditate the traditional way and try to become a mental and bodily Zombie or you can meditate or think the modern way purposefully.

Returning to nothingness or almost no thinking is what you do in sleep and there is no reason you should be sleeping in the daytime when your mind and body seeks activity.

Primitive tribes don’t meditate or do so minimally so you should be cautious about advice given by Buddhist monks on meditation who spend their lives trying to become stylized very biased “perfect” humans sitting on their buts most of the day.

My personal opinion is that traditional meditation is a waste of time and you can meditate or think better the modern way which basically means taking a five or ten minute pause from what you are doing and thinking in a rational logical way about your past and present and future potential activities.

Goal seeking modern meditation or logical restful thinking is what I recommend to relieve stress and motivate greater personal and mental growth. You will have improved concentration and decreased blood pressure and reduced stress and anxiety and enhanced immune function!!!!!!

How will you know if you are meditating properly? When you start thinking without anxiety or emotion.

If the only way to do this is to use standard traditional meditation techniques to help you decrease your emotional level then do so but start reading my blogs which are written without anxiety or emotion having a role in the communication as do standard emotionally charged communications.
