MEDIA CENTRALIZATION EXISTS BUT ITS IMPACT MAY NOT LAST LONG!!!

Ideologically the establishment media seems to have a monopoly on the news and academia but fewer and fewer are reading newspapers and magazines and fewer and fewer are viewing cable news and TV in general. Even though on the surface it seems scary that opposing views, especially conservative ones, are being greatly censored the actual impact of establishment media on the public is on a rapid decline. The actual viewership of hour programs on a daily basis is often less than 1% of the population of the United States.

Humans are simply bored with repetitive pablum that repeats itself every hour and every day with the same boring themes. Investigative reporting and impartial analysis of newsworthy topics is practically nonexistent. Polls are unreliable and frankly they don’t change much from week to week or for that matter from year to year.

The establishment media which has tried sensational tabloid press techniques for over 2 years is in a downward slide both economically and viewership wise. They frankly don’t know what to do to attract new customers who are more involved with personal social media and texting on mundane topics. It can factually be stated that mass media for all practical purposes is dead and the ability to influence the minds of potential and existent customers in a massive way is no longer possible nor will it be possible in the near future.

The internet started to democratize information access to the point where the great freedom resulted in plagiarized music, movies, books, news, and pictures. So much freedom also resulted in hacked websites, scam artists, company clientele info stolen, etc. to the point where fake information, fake news, and fake reviews began to dim the line between truth and fiction so that few really fully trust the internet and media in the modern age.

Big tech which is interested in the bottom line gave priority exposure to big money corporations and big money media but it’s attempts at censorship to a large extent are futile and just makes the internet less interesting to surf.

I point this all out to make a very general statement and that is that trust in the media, in politicians, in celebrities, in academia, in leaders of the deep state, and elsewhere has suffered a severe blow. Once trust is lost and deception and lying have become the norm then regaining that trust is a long arduous task which has a large probability of not succeeding. Once trust is lost your reputation and integrity is in the gutter. It is almost impossible to regain a good reputation again.

In conclusion, the establishment media only seems to have a monopoly on news and information but the real impact on the public is small and decreasing with each passing day. The traditional establishment mass media could form a consensus of opinion and brainwash the public to go along. Those days of the power to influence most minds is declining fast.

WHAT IS LIKELY WHEN ROBOTS AND COMPUTER SOFTWARE STARTS TO CONTROL MOST THINGS???

When computer automation takes over most jobs, who will be in a position to consume products and services without earned income? Well, obviously those maintaining the technology will be in the forefront with more than decent wages but the vast majority will be on some form of government welfare and on a fixed income.

Politically this is a little scary because the overwhelming majority will always vote for more welfare money and this could enslave the remaining elite working class and make them slaves supporting the welfare class. I would strongly suggest that we reduce the votes of those on welfare to a fraction of one vote so that the vote of the minority working class has more clout. Of course this will need a constitutional amendment which is probably highly unlikely to pass.

The robots will be the new dominant workers and it makes sense that they will eventually be taxed to fund all the humans which they have replaced and now will be living on welfare. A guaranteed annual minimum wage without working has already been proposed so effectively most will not be working but just spending money given by the government. The political and social ramifications are revolutionary but the financial ramifications are revolutionary also where financial growth is going to be dependent on an increase in robot productivity and not human productivity.

There will be no credit for those on welfare so spending and their income will only rise if their government benefits will. Inflation will be less of a problem because there will be over production. Monopolistic production may be in the hands of relatively few so prices and inflation may rise because of product price increases in the monopolistic economy.

Most humans will no longer own their own cars, own homes, and recreational vehicles but will be renting them if they save up enough money. They will be riding around in hired driverless vehicles, living in apartments, having few if any offspring, and spending most of their time at home. They will be eating, drinking, doing drugs, having sex, and spending most of their time online in search of entertainment or if smart, seeking further useful educational advancement.

For some, not having to work sounds like utopia but for others it is a kind of dystopia or permanent retirement from life with all its possible adventures, anxieties, stresses, and tragedies. Was human kind meant to live in retirement mode or will it cause a dramatic increase in health problems, addictions, and mental illness? Only time will tell.

Small businesses will dramatically decrease because the initial capital investment in them will be huge and the probability of failure extremely high. Specialty internet small businesses may still thrive but employed workers for these enterprises will probably be minimal.

Actually what I have outlined so far is a likely scenario if a country is self sustaining  or self supporting and produces everything that it consumes. Realistically we are in a competitive worldwide environment of relatively free trade and the threat of financial national bankruptcy is a greater threat than is that of robotization. If you just keep spending and producing very little for consumption or export bankruptcy is inevitable.

Other countries are becoming more competitive and are producing products more cheaply than we could ever hope to. The United States will have relatively cheap products from around the world but the budget deficit will grow by leaps and bounds.

International banks, corporations, and institutions have more political clout than that of any one nation. Wealth is being spread worldwide and the United States unfortunately is on a never ending slide in standard of living. A more likely scenario is that the United States will just become another third world nation with relatively few in a wealthy upper class and the vast majority will be in a relatively poor lower class as far as income is concerned.

Unless made in the United States has a rebirth and there are things which the world needs from the United States, besides food, energy, and military protection, the United States will continue its almost inevitable economic slide downwards on into the foreseeable future.

Much more could be written about automation such as bot content creators for almost everything we see and read, bot actors, bot musicians, bot teachers, bot nannies, bot sexual partners, drone deliveries, etc. No human field is safe from robotization or a symbiosis between humans and machines. How fast this trend will continue is debatable but this kind of change is inevitable to the detriment of future generations of average not exceptional humans. If you are part of the technological revolution then you will do just fine. If not, your life may seem rather meaningless without a job that you can derive satisfaction and purpose from.

THE TRUTH ABOUT MONOPOLY

monopoly-header

Monopoly: n. is a business where there are many buyers and one seller or samer business for ingus thus making possible the assigning of relatively large prices without pressure and/or fear that a competitor will offer a smaller price and is usually a business having 90% or more control of ingus (government is a monopoly with 100% control)

Ingus: n. information and/or goods and/or services

The 21st century will be the age of international monopolies in many areas. With so many brand names it is not obvious that there are huge monopolies behind the brand names which control their pricing.

Almost all sunglasses are made by one manufacturer as well as almost all computer laptops including Apple. With the exception of craft beers most popular beer brands are controlled by one company. It is standard practice to buy out competitors once they reach a certain size rather than to compete with them with similar brands although that is also done by monopolies.

Oil may not seem like a monopoly with so many gas companies but with oil prices per barrel being standard worldwide all gas companies are really colluding with one another and have the same pricing policy which is effectively a worldwide monopoly. Your local gas stations are a perfect example where all the prices rise and fall at the same time and are the same in one local area. There is no competition anymore but true monopoly practices which set prices to levels at which they make the most profit.

Monopolies have a tendency to stifle innovation and product improvement and in the food industry they are the major obstacle to growing healthy organic food for the consuming public. They are destroying biodiverse food at a rapid clip. I don’t mind so much the standardization of products but I do strongly object to the standardization of crappy unhealthy over processed food for which monopolies and an uninformed public are to blame.

THE TRUTH ABOUT BIG BUSINESS

big-government-business-collusion

Big business has many advantages:

You can buy products at very low wholesale prices.

You can buy out competing businesses.

You can more easily borrow money for expansion or new products.

You have a nationwide or worldwide reputation and may not have to advertise as much.

You can charge higher prices if you are a monopoly or near monopoly on a product or products.

You can imitate a competitor’s product and sell it for less thus having an unfair market advantage and the ability to put them out of business.

You can extend liberal credit to a customer and delay getting paid for a long time.

You can lobby for special interest legislation to give you an unfair advantage over young competitors.

In case of bankruptcy you can more easily reorganize and continue the business in slightly modified form.

CONCLUSION:

Big business may not always be better but big money definitely is a competitive advantage and makes it very difficult for small business to compete and survive.
