MANAGERIAL MISTAKES!!!

Not fulfilling promises and lying on occasion:

Trust is the most important bonding factor in a relationship and this applies to business relationships also. Break promises or lie and respect for you starts to disappear since employees can no longer depend on your word being true which causes mistrust and hostile confusion and uncertainty in the workplace.

Perhaps not giving a promised pay raise or job promotion will most negatively affect the morale of an employee. There are other less blatant forms of promises made and not kept which will break the trusting bond with employees. Perhaps the best advice to give a manager is to not be pretentious but be honest and straightforward in all your dealings with employees so that they never have to doubt what your true intentions and demands are on the job.

Criticizing employees publicly:

Embarrassment, shame, and bad feelings against the manager may follow the criticizing of an employee in public. Almost everyone wants to feel safe with reputation intact if they make a mistake or screw up in some way on the job and don’t want this to become public knowledge if at all possible. The right time and place to do any chastising is in private between manager and employee only.

Excessive invasion of privacy, especially if details are announced publicly or to other employees:

Sometimes private activities affect business relationships or activities but the manager should be cautious about probing too deeply into the private lives of employees and even worse gossiping about the juicy details. Almost everyone is interested in maintaining a good reputation in the workplace and intimate private details which reflect a bad circumstance or situation should remain largely private and go no further than the manager and employee concerned. Most employee private secrets which don’t adversely affect the business should be respected and definitely not gossiped about if found out.

Withholding motivation or positive feedback:

A manager should do more than just try to help out if problems arise. A good manager will offer words of encouragement for a job well done so that the employee feels that they are being noticed and appreciated on the job on a regular basis.

Micromanaging employees:

Micromanaging indirectly implies that you don’t trust an employee to do a good job on their own. While micromanaging a new employee who is learning the ropes is sometimes a good thing, micromanaging a competent employee with unnecessary interruptions can adversely affect productivity. Interrupting when the work seems to be going too slow or noticing that too many mistakes are being made on the job is not micromanagement but a valid time to see if you can speed things up or eliminate apparent roadblocks to the work. Micromanaging is done primarily because you don’t trust an employee to do a competent job mostly on their own or you want to take credit for the job done yourself.

Not getting feedback from employees:

A domineering manager may just be inclined to give out orders and not ask for much feedback from employees. Largely isolated and minimally interested employees may be the result if they are almost never asked to participate in the decision making processes. Feedback from employees is especially important in a team effort which needs good coordination and participation by more than one employee. Happy and productive employees should be the goal of almost all businesses. Good feedback will determine how happy and productive they are and what things could possibly be done to make them happier and more productive.

Failing to appropriately discipline:

It is bad policy to ignore bad job performance and bad behavior which if left unresolved can lead to a sharp drop in employee morale and some if not many looking for jobs elsewhere. Before disciplining an employee it is best to have a private conversation and determine what is the cause of bad performance or bad behavior on the part of an employee. Sometimes all that is needed is determining the cause, pinpointing concrete steps to resolve the issue, and finally a promise from the employee to improve in the near future with concrete behavior modifications.

Sometimes giving the employee less responsibility, taking away a privilege such as parking rights, or threatening with firing are what appropriate discipline looks like. If the bad performance or bad behavior persists then make sure that you document it all and finally fire the offending employee before the rest of the staff is negatively impacted to the point of no return.

Not coaching or mentoring employees:

Some employees want to advance to higher positions in the business and don’t want to stagnate in a job at the same level for years. It is important for a manager to pinpoint those who want to be upwardly mobile and give them the appropriate coaching, mentoring, and delegation of some authority to keep them motivated. Yes, you run the risk of someone taking over your job in the future but a great manager will him or herself want to move up the business ladder to even higher positions of authority. Having a willing and able replacement ready to go may be a very important factor in getting a personal job advancement yourself.

Not cultivating interpersonal relationships:

Emotional IQ is very important for managers and that usually means that a manager is also interested in some personal information about how the employee is doing away from work. It might be valuable to know what an employee plans to do three or five years from now and what other valuable interests the employee may have. Knowing about employee hobbies, continuing education efforts, networking, and what one does during leisure time can all be vital in adding personal touches to future conversations and pep talks.

Most employees react favorably if they sense a manager really cares about them and what they are doing and hope to do in life.

MANY WAYS TO MOTIVATE YOURSELF TOWARDS BUSINESS SUCCESS!!!

Entrepreneur-Success-1024x562

There are internal and external motivators. You are in charge of your internal motivations but it is also very important to have external human motivators who push you in the same basic direction that you want to go.

The best motivator is to surround yourself with competent talented humans who share in your vision of what your company should be. You can’t succeed alone no matter how confident you are or how much you believe in yourself so surrounding yourself with confident, competent, and talented humans is essential for long duration business success.

You must understand what your weaknesses and strengths are and hire personnel who complement your weaknesses and make for an overall strong company. The other approach is to minimize your weaknesses by personal effort but this is time consuming, there is no guarantee that you will succeed in strengthening your weaknesses, and in business time is of the essence so hiring someone with strength in your weak category is often the smartest quickest approach.

Perhaps the second most important motivator is an ability to remain optimistic through some failures which are inevitable in a growing business enterprise. Understanding that failure is an opportunity to learn what not to do is very important in any enterprise. If your vision is clear and functional then most failures will not put your company on the verge of bankruptcy.

Motivating yourself to overcome the fear of failure or pushing yourself into decisively acting in the face of some uncertainty is vital to business success. Remaining confident and decisive in the face of adversity and beyond is essential in any growing business. Believing in yourself and your vision is important to maintain, especially at times when it seems almost everything is conspiring against your success.

If you have emotional intelligence then that is very important but to stay motivated you need good role models to learn from. Read about successful entrepreneurs and imitate their good points and network with other successful entrepreneurs who can give you some important vital advice on what to do and who to further associate with. Business ultimately is a human enterprise and you need relevant input from other successful business humans.

Consuming healthy food and drink, getting enough exercise, and enough sleep is vital to staying in peak optimistic performance mode.

Geoffrey James gives an extensive list of how to stay motivated in a business in this link.

16 IMPORTANT LEADERSHIP TIPS!!!

LEadership-banner1-300x194

Hiding things from your employees leads to uncertainty or suspicion which is an erosion of trust and makes them less respectful. There may be a time to hide the fact that there will be massive staff reductions since revealing this too far ahead of time may lead to some very qualified workers leaving for a new job. Other than this very unusual situation it is never good to hide things from your employees.

Being empathetic is a major key of emotional intelligence. If you understand the emotional state of an employee and can address their problem appropriately they will respect you more even if you convey news to them which may not be that pleasant. If you show them that you heard them out and acted accordingly with proper empathy you will not break the bond of trust which should exist and there will be greater acceptance of a circumstance.

The new generation due to technology is rather poor in interpersonal social skills, have bad emotional intelligence, and have an inability to handle interpersonal challenges well. Get them to interact personally with peer groups or communities and network with humans in person as much as possible so that they benefit from older more socially experienced humans.

Face the truth no matter how uncomfortable it may seem to you. It can be the truth about yourself, your workers, your customers, or your product deficiencies. If your product is substandard and your workers are not performing well then try to address the problems and move forward courageously trying to fix things.

Know your own weaknesses and those of your workers. Find or hire workers who will strengthen your deficiencies and those of your workers so that the business moves forward with strengths in all the necessary areas of expertise.

Don’t be emotionally aloof and ignore your worker’s emotional needs. Emotionally intelligent leaders interact with their workers in an empathetic way and express an interest in their personal feelings and interests outside of work. The more that you know about your workers and the more they know about you the more they will admire and respect you and empathize back thus forming a more positive bond of trust with you. It will no longer be an “us” and “them” mentality which is not a cohesive psychological force in the workplace.

You are ultimately responsible for the quality of the work and the esprit de corps of your business. That means hiring competent workers, getting rid of disruptive or incompetent workers, and motivating workers to do their best on the job.

In today’s dynamic and uncertain business environment which is constantly changing the primary objectives or vision of the company should not get lost and should be repeated. Even though the personnel and structure may have to be altered or changed from time to time the primary focus or goals of the company should not change radically. If new software and new products results in customer dissatisfaction then the lines of communication should be open so that appropriate changes can be made in a timely fashion.

The most successful leaders are those who surround themselves with smarter workers than the leader himself. If innovation is a necessity then these smart humans can use their exceptional skills to try new approaches which will keep the company competitive and at the forefront of current practices. The insecure micromanager surrounds himself with workers just like him with limited skill sets which prevent them from contributing much to innovation.

Mentor potential new leaders during relatively long waiting durations for mundane tasks. Using your relatively long periods of inactive free time to mentor young workers is time well spent. Mentor your current workers with leadership potential and hire some workers who will become future leaders. Shaping and molding future company leaders is vital to the overall success of a company in the long duration.

Don’t dwell in the past telling new team workers how great your old team was. They will begin to wonder why you chose to leave if it was such a great experience. Motivate new team workers to work towards future goals without emphasizing your past successes too much.

Have a clear vision of the future, communicate it to your workers, and motivate them to work towards or achieve that vision with your guidance. Knowing WHAT workers are working for in unison is a great motivator.

Competent leaders with good character, emotional intelligence, and integrity are knowledgeable, trusted, admired, and respected and don’t have to force compliance to the rules with threats, intimidation, humiliation, and demands or don’t have to micromanage the workforce to get things done properly.

Confident leaders lead through values, vision, and vulnerability and arrogant leaders often lead with fear, threats, blame, and ego. Emotional intelligence evolves gradually with time based primarily on selfawareness and knowing whether you are motivating workers primarily with positive approaches or resorting to too many negative tyrannical or bossy techniques.

Look like a leader with businesslike sharp posture, clothing, and looks and not an overly casual or disheveled laid back posture and looks.

Practicing curiosity which is basically asking relevant questions and getting truthful answers stimulates learning, collaboration, and potential innovation which is becoming more vital in a rapidly changing business environment. Not being curious favors a judgmental, blaming, telling, and shaming approach to leadership which frustrates workers, creates conflict, and impedes collaboration, innovation, and understanding.

14 VALUABLE LEADERSHIP SKILLS OR CHARACTERISTICS!!!

leadership-skills-business-diagram-19080009

The essence of great leadership is an ability to set relevant goals, have excellent communication skills, and to be able to motivate or inspire workers to do their best with what they have. That being said here are 14 characteristics of a great leader:

They keep good communications going by encouraging workers to speak to them, asking questions, noting complaints, and creating a safe, secure, approachable atmosphere where workers are not afraid to speak up when they feel it is necessary.

They communicate expectations or set realistic challenges or goals for workers to follow and place the responsibility of performing the details on workers and make them accountable for their work.

They prioritize goals based on an estimate of their urgency, potential impact on profitability of the company if it is a business, and cost of personnel and resources needed to achieve the desired goals.

They estimate the approximate time it will take to achieve the goals and when  members of the staff will start on them.

They have an ongoing thirst for new relevant knowledge, do research, ask relevant questions, and seek counsel from others as needed.

They know how to confidently make relatively quick impulsive decisions based on years of experience and are seldom confronted with lengthy periods of doubt and uncertainty.

They evaluate or assess worker performance and give appropriate privileges and rewards or give credit where credit is due.

They are trustworthy and provide accurate, continuous, motivating, and supportive feedback to workers as they perform their tasks but don’t micro manage them.

They are good at assigning appropriately talented individuals to relevant tasks or know which workers will do a better job at given tasks and allocate and deploy accordingly.

They don’t procrastinate and are good at analyzing problems and assigning appropriate resources and personnel to solve them.

They are competent, energetic, likable, respected, and strong willed with an ability to motivate and inspire workers despite some inevitable failures along the way.

They openly share their knowledge and teach appropriately even mentoring some with leadership potential.

They network with leaders in similar positions and try to form relationships with humans who may not only be able to help them but also help some of their workers in the present and future.

They know that the strategic business plan should always be a satisfied repeat customer which is the only ultimate strategic consideration. The means to that end is making the company more competitive with more and better information, goods, or services and a more efficient organizational structure.

They genuinely enjoy their leadership responsibilities and the work that that entails.

THE TRUTH ABOUT EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE

download

Emotional intelligence: n. the ability to accurately assess a human’s emotional circumstance and to proceed to communicate appropriately and/or to motivate samer human to achieve a goal(s)

Emotional intelligence (EQ) is the ability to impulsively control your impulsive desires to express intense anger, fear, hatred, jealousy, frustration and not offend or greatly threaten the human whom you are communicating with and not stimulate them into defensive intense emotional reactions. It is the ability to communicate these “negative” emotions where appropriate in a calm controlled way.

EQ is also the ability to confidently communicate loving, caring, empathetic, praising, or inspiring emotions which motivate a human to do their best at achieving a goal(s).

Emotional intelligence can be used to do good and/or bad things and to some extent it is also the ability to manipulate other humans to achieve desired goal(s). That is why managers with high emotional intelligence are sought after in business and institutional enterprises.

Sociopaths are sometimes also good at manipulating gullible humans and they could also be said to have a high degree of EQ but they lack integrity so they are severely handicapped socially and they are usually never admired and respected by others with integrity.

Propagandists, dictators like Hitler, and politicians in general have high EQ and the more unscrupulous kind name call or stereotype and associate ideas and humans with angry, fearful, and hateful reactions motivating humans into action with these “negative” emotions. They optimize human motivation with both “positive” and “negative” emotions and are still idolized by brainwashed devoted followers. Hitler was an evil genius with a high EQ who motivated vast populations into obedient behaviors with anger, fear, hatred, pride, and love of the “fatherland”. He optimized the motivation in his Aryan hoards totally devoted to the conquest of the world.

Parents with high emotional intelligence usually have offspring with high emotional intelligence because it is learned from parental role models and personal experience with other good role models. Emotional intelligence can be acquired through extensive interactions and experience with a variety of humans throughout a lifetime and those who mostly learn from personal human experience and not much from parents or school role models are usually mature experienced middle aged and older humans who only acquire EQ late in life.

17 THINGS GOOD BOSSES SHOULD KNOW HOW TO DO!!!

I-Love-My-Boss

Essentially after a qualified and competent worker is hired a boss’ job is to motivate and support or help the worker to do the job well and with enthusiasm.

BOSSES MOTIVATE WITH THE FOLLOWING TECHNIQUES:

They encourage when reluctance or fear of not being able to do the task is felt,

they maintain an atmosphere of trust so that no worker is overly fearful or dissatisfied with the emotional working environment and feels free to communicate with the boss and say anything that they may feel is relevant,

they are decisive and confident thus giving the worker the courage to do even when the task seems hard and difficult,

they accept occasional worker failure, don’t lose their optimism, and don’t use insults, put downs, name calling, and ridicule to belittle the worker,

they clearly communicate the rules and goals of the company giving confidence, clear guidance and understanding, and a sense of purpose to the worker,

they contribute to the work at hand by participating and working along with the workers at least once in a while to maintain an esprit de corps and don’t just isolate themselves in the office all day,

they are effective listeners and make their workers feel important and respected when they communicate,

the best bosses also have a sense of humor and can tell entertaining stories to perk up workers,

they are thankful or show gratitude so that workers feel that their efforts are appreciated,

they are inspirational and optimistic and give earned praise appropriately thus inspiring workers,

they have an ability to energize their workers when the going gets tough or tedious.

they know how to discipline good workers who are starting to goof off or are no longer doing a good job. This can be done with a threatened firing or pointing out role model workers who are doing the job well or better and thus challenging the wayward worker to do better or get back in shape.

SUPPORT OR HELP IS GIVEN WITH THE FOLLOWING TECHNIQUES:

They acknowledge work well done or give credit where credit is due,

they empower or give the tools and direction necessary to do the job and are good coaches,

they are results oriented and are not out to win a popularity contest if it means a job not well done,

SOME IMPORTANT WAYS TO BECOME A BETTER LEADER!!!

127570506_leadershipflat

GOALS:

Set goals, write them down, and get feedback from potentially involved staff members if there are any objections to the goals or alternate goal suggestions.

Prioritize goals based on an estimate of their urgency, potential impact on profitability of the company, and cost of personnel and resources needed to achieve the desired goals.

Estimate the approximate time it will take to achieve the goals and when you and members of your staff will start on them.

ROUTINE TASK IMPROVEMENT:

Analyze a task by asking whether there would be any adverse results if the task were eliminated entirely since some are purely make work routine tasks which don’t have any noticeable benefits.

If a task is beneficial then ask whether its efficiency could be improved by replacing it with computer software or eliminating subtasks or spending less time on the tasks.

Sometimes tasks are redundant and two or more tasks can be merged into one new task which produces the same results.

INNOVATION AND CREATIVITY:

The key to innovation is finding someone who is doing your job more efficiently and usually differently.

Relevant useful research of reputable authorities in your field is one way of getting innovative ideas and the other is to make connections with managers or leaders of other companies basically doing your job only perhaps a little more efficiently and better.

Sometimes your staff members may have some innovative ideas which can surface if you have the courage to ask them.

Innovative efficiency often means replacing routine functions and humans with computer software but you should be very cautious in using computer interfaces with company customers because most customers do not want to feel like they are communicating with an impersonal robot and the reputation of your company may greatly suffer as a result of too much of this impersonal treatment of them.

STRATEGIC BUSINESS PLAN:

The strategic business plan should always be a satisfied repeat customer which is the only ultimate strategic consideration. The means to that end is making the company more competitive with more and better information, goods, or services and a more efficient organizational structure.

MEETINGS:

Disseminate a necessary agenda only to invited relevant workers prior to the meeting, start on time, and assign relevant tasks with a deadline during the meeting.

TEAMS:

Have clear rules, expectations, and goals.

Listen more than you speak and get appropriate feedback.

Sometimes compromise will be necessary to get enthusiastic committed member support.

NETWORKING:

A good memory is definitely a great asset but keeping a written file of new humans which you meet each day and the context in which you met them can be very useful in the future.

Seek out humans who can potentially help you in reaching your goals. Joining and becoming an active participant in a professional association is one way of starting to accomplish this goal.

MENTORING THOSE WITH LEADERSHIP POTENTIAL:

Your ultimate goal may be to climb the corporate ladder to at or near the top so take time out to mentor potential leaders who could replace you when you get promoted to greater responsibility.

One way to slowly do this is to once in a while delegate some of your authority to an aspiring leader who has similar ambitions.

When and if you get promoted then you will have a loyal or thankful human leader working under you.

LEARNING:

Learn or research something new and hopefully useful almost every day.

Learn from your mistakes and failures and those of other humans.

Ask humans with similar experiences how they overcame their failures or how they would have done something which you want to do or tried to do.

MOTIVATION:

Individually motivate members and try to get their support because different personalities sometimes require slightly different motivational approaches. Introverts and extroverts need slightly different approaches and even though most are motivated by a pride in their work some need financial bonuses or special privileges to keep them happy and motivated.

Keep group motivational speeches very brief and very infrequent.

The basic key to great leadership is hiring qualified competent workers and using emotional intelligence to motivate them into doing their best!!!

THE TRUTH ABOUT INITIATIVE*

Initiative: n. having and/or using the ability and motivation to start a subset(s) independently

When you show initiative then you are basically using your own ability and motivation to make things happen and are not waiting around just hoping that someone will do something for you.

16 REASONS WHY HUMANS GIVE UP ON THEIR GOALS!!!

img_0994

This blog thanks Rahul Khanna for the inspiration of this article.

WHY DO HUMANS GIVE UP ON THEIR GOALS???

Humans are impatient and want results too fast in a world which is increasingly propagandizing instant gratification.

Humans stop believing they have the ability to reach the goals.

Humans live in the past too much and can’t adapt to modern realities.

Humans dwell too much on past mistakes and fear more future failures.

Humans fear the future and overvalue a relatively comfortable past existence.

Humans really don’t want to change for the better but prefer to live with their existing good and bad habits.

Humans believe their weaknesses are too great to make goal achievement possible.

Humans feel the world owes them something and decide to wait for the world to give it to them.

Humans never take time out to search for or investigate new goals and the potential benefits which may come from achieving them.

Humans feel and fear that they will lose some of the good things which they have if they pursue the new goals.

Humans overwork and don’t leave time or don’t schedule time to pursue future desirable goals.

Humans assume their problems are too handicapping to achieve the goals.

Humans assume that much past failure means that they must give up on their goals.

Humans feel sorry for themselves and want to be pitied for their rather bad circumstances in life and use that as an excuse for not pursuing goals.

Humans lose their desire and motivation to improve themselves and no longer strive for better goals in life.

Humans are too lazy to put in the time, energy, and effort required to achieve goals.

THE TRUTH ABOUT FANATICISM*

maxresdefault

Fanaticism: n. motivated by extreme and/or unreasoning enthusiasm for a subset(s) and frequently intolerant of any opposition to samer subset(s)

Usually one thinks of religious and political fanatics totally devoted to and enthusiastically promoting their beliefs with an intolerant attitude. There can be fanatics in other areas of life too who express it with intolerant unreasoning enthusiasm often involving a dogmatic belief(s) which is often is a very deviant and not a normative one. A fanatic may believe that the earth is flat and the sun revolves around the earth and wants all the educational institutions to teach this absurdity.

There is also transient fanaticism which doesn’t last that long which is practiced by some occasionally. Trying to finish work which ordinarily should last a week and trying to do it in three days by taking no breaks and sleeping only a few hours a day could be considered to be a form of transient fanaticism.

Fanaticism is highly subjective in many cases because a fanatical terrorist suicide bomber may be considered to be a hero by those believing in his or her cause. If fanaticism is considered to be a valid means to a “good” end then that fanaticism may in effect be idolized by a group of deviant thinking and behaving individuals.

THE TRUTH ABOUT FEEDFORWARD!!!

FeedForward_Logo_with text

Feedforward is an assumption that if you let someone chose from a list of behaviors of what they want to improve that it is a “fun” experience for humans because there is no criticism or evaluation involved in the process.

Unfortunately feedforward as a concept is open ended which implies no evaluation of progress in the future towards the open ended goals chosen.

Feedforward is a myth with “fun” attached to it because theoretically there is no future critical evaluation of any progress or absence of it. This makes the feedforward concept an arrow without a target or not knowing where the arrow will land. To put it in more definite terms it is a promise of goal(s) achievement without an evaluation in the future of whether the goal(s) was achieved or not.

Feedforward is a useless open ended concept without any necessary feedback at a later date.

Feedforward is motivating humans to achieve a goal(s) and then not checking back with feedback to find out if the goal(s) were reached and if not why not?

THE TRUTH ABOUT METHOD+

methodlogo

Method: n. a frequently orderly frequently logical way of doing a subset(s) and/or how to achieve a goal(s)

A method is really a way of doing something or a way of achieving a goal(s).

There is frequently more than one way to do something and your personal way is your personal method. Your method may be more impulsive and spontaneous than someone else’s more logical method and may have more steps.

The efficiency of a method is determined by the minimum number of steps needed in the smallest amount of time.

A command for humans is frequently the fastest way to get someone to do something and there are many different ways to motivate a human into doing something(s).

In democracies compromise and cooperation is the preferred method for resolving problems and getting things done.

In dictatorial or tyrannical regimes conflict is frequently resolved with the use of force or the threat of force and this is even reflected in the family life of the culture where one spouse, usually the male, plays a dominant coercive role in family life.

The concept of equal rights and an attempt to minimize discrimination is methodology unique to western civilization and it is still not the preferred method of getting things done in most of the rest of the world.

Much of modern progress and innovation is the result of the scientific method being used in the world and it is unfortunate that the scientific method and its strength in prediction is not directly applicable to human morality and the study of human behavior.

The real reason that human behavior can’t be studied scientifically is that the definition of variables is too vague and there are too many variables to make rigorous math equations. Only statistical norms  or ballpark approximations are possible with no cause effect predictable relationships.

THE TRUTH ABOUT PROMOTION+

How_to_ask_for_a_job_promotion-300x300

Promotion: n. motivating and helping a subset(s) to grow in importance frequently by increasing rank and/or privilege

Advertising of information, goods, and services can be thought of as being a promotion but the most common usage is when you are promoted to a better or more responsible position in an organization or job.

Human promotion frequently corresponds to an increase in status or rank and it is usually highly desirable by humans who want to be higher on the social pecking order.

Not everyone has a desire to be promoted and have a responsibility over more and more humans. Some employees don’t care if they are never promoted in their jobs to positions of management and this is perfectly acceptable because not everyone wants to manage other humans and be responsible for their behavior.

In school promotion from one grade to the next exists and most humans desire to be promoted that way but for some humans being promoted in life is not something they all desire. There are plenty of humans who just want to put in a good days work and don’t desire in the least to be leaders or managers of other humans who are often difficult to manage in this modern era of many disobedient, irresponsible, and somewhat selfish personalities.

Some businesses have poorly paid lower management positions where you theoretically have higher status but have to suffer through commuting to far away time consuming boring management conferences and making less money than the humans whom you manage. Promotion in these businesses is actually a sacrifice of your time, money, and energy and very few wish to be promoted in this way.

4 KEYS TO BUSINESS SUCCESS IN A NUTSHELL!!!

Business-Success

In a nutshell -satisfy your customers, have an efficient business structure with quality motivated workers, have a research and development department, and advertise.

What is important are the humans- the customers, the workers, the improvers, and the advertisers. The important foundation is quality information, goods, and services.

Provide information, goods, and services which the customer needs or wants and keep them happy with good customer service.

Run an efficient business with a talented charismatic leader at the top and talented and motivated managers and workers who feel that they have a stake in running the business successfully and feel they can work their way to near the top if they have a desire and apply themselves.

Have a research and development department in charge of improving customer information, goods, and services, especially one which tries to keep up with new innovation or trends in the business and tests new information, goods, and services.

Promote your business or advertise to maintain a visible presence in the world. Word of mouth advertising is what you hope for but you can speed up your popularity with tempting advertising propaganda.

THE TRUTH ABOUT EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE+

eicollege3

Emotional intelligence: n. the ability to accurately assess a human’s emotional circumstance and to proceed to communicate appropriately and/or to motivate samer human to achieve a goal(s)

Emotional intelligence is the new buzzword being used to talk about a human’s ability to assess another’s emotional circumstance and communicate appropriately without getting into arguments or severe disagreements. It is frequently seen as an advantage for leaders who are trying to motivate their workforce into doing a good job and basically maintaining a good esprit de corps. Emotional intelligence should really be called emotional smarts or ES because it is largely an acquired skill and not inborn that much.

Sometimes the smartest thing to do is just let a very angry and annoyed human calm down before starting a conversation with them. At other times it is smart to try and diffuse the anger with appropriate words which register a certain amount of empathy but communicate a need to proceed quickly to do something about a bad situation despite very bad feelings about it. “I feel your pain, suffering, or anger but we must move on despite it.”  This generally summarizes the tactic needed to resolve emotional distress, especially in the work place.

The emotionally intelligent just like intelligent humans usually have a good memory for names and events, especially those relevant to a human. They can sometimes draw on these past events and use them in handling a touchy present situation. “Remember a similar situation which arose in the past where you had the same basic problem and we resolved it?”

This kind of historical memory helps to custom fit a potential dispute and diffuse a problem without the need for lengthy discussion starting from scratch. Humans like to feel that you care about them and if you bring up past events in their lives then this shows that you have been empathetic and caring in the past and are probably only wanting to help them in their current state of distress.

Emotional intelligence or emotional memory is partly inborn but it can also be an acquired trait to a large extent with exposure to humans of all types and many social experiences with diverse personalities.

During a job interview many employers go with their “gut” feeling which basically means that they are impulsively judging you based on appearance, gestures or body language, speech mannerisms, and conversational ability.

Being able to discuss job related issues almost flawlessly is also important but your optimistic attitude and the way that you present yourself during the interview play a major role in the ultimate decision making process. You basically have to come across as a likable human in addition to what your actual expertise may be in the job which you are applying for.

If a leader is not charismatic he or she may still have a good reputation among employees by being honest, sincere, dependable, competent, friendly, and trustworthy. It is far easier to communicate with employees or a significant other if they basically respect you and maybe even admire you to some extent.

Being emotionally intelligent about yourself is also frequently ignored as a desirable trait to have. If you are very angry and annoyed then that may not be the best time for you to enter a conversation with someone else. Being calm, cool, or collected is just a way of saying that you should be smart and seldom vent your anger and disappointment at others unless you then proceed to solve any problem or problems which may have caused you that emotional distress in the first place.

Having emotional intelligence should make most of your communications with close relationships successful but a very important aspect of emotional intelligence is giving appropriate praise when earned. Human’s like to feel good about themselves and if you appropriately praise or reward them for their successful efforts then you will go a long way towards motivating them to proceed to even more or greater achievements.

Exaggerated praise or rewards are inappropriate in the long duration and you should try to develop a sense of justice which is a measured and appropriate reward or punishment which of course is frequently in verbal form and not necessarily always physical such as granting a privilege or denying it.

Emotional intelligence is very useful in everyday relationships with humans, especially the ones closest to you. To have a complete discussion of the emotional intelligence of a leader you must include a discussion of leadership skills in general which are never exclusively emotional in character.

Emotional intelligence is really a very complex and detailed subject which includes all the emotional states or circumstances that a human can be in. To intuitively and accurately guess what emotional state or circumstance a human is in is only successful in some cases with spouses which you have interacted with or have known for many years.

In general the smartest thing to do is to ask a person what emotional state they are in with a question. “How do you feel now? or How do you feel about that? They may still try to hide their emotional state from you with hedging or evasive tactics but in most cases you will much more accurately find out how one really feels by asking them. Get more certainty about someone’s emotional circumstance and you can then proceed accordingly with hopefully better conversational and situational results.

IQ and EQ stand for intelligence quotient and emotional quotient and the most desirable leaders are the ones with much EQ since IQ can be considered to be the tip of the iceberg which shows or is known and EQ is the vast bulk of the iceberg below the water line which doesn’t show or is usually unknown. This is an analogy which just states that EQ is a much more desirable characteristic than IQ to have in leaders.

EQ is a function of all the good and bad experiences which you have had in your life with other humans and how well you remember those experiences intuitively and is not easily quantifiable whereas IQ is more quantifiable and is basically a measure of how good your memory is for book knowledge.

EQ is a much more impulsive or intuitive ability whereas IQ frequently requires more thinking ability and less impulsiveness. Nevertheless in many cases intuition or impulsiveness are still major characteristics for both EQ and IQ.

32 SMART THINGS GREAT LEADERS SAY FREQUENTLY!!!

LION OF JUDAH

Leaders should be short, sincere, and to the point in their communications but each of these phrases can be embellished with added words when it seems the appropriate thing to do.

Leaders offer earned or justified praise to their workers which is a very good motivational tool. You can personalize praise and adjust it to a sports fan by using phrases such as home run and touchdown but it is not very appropriate for female employees:

Congratulations!

Thank you

Great job

Nice work

You earned it

You outdid yourself

I’ll remember this forever

I’m proud of you

I couldn’t do it better

It’s new but I like it

You’re the best at that

Leaders admit when they’re wrong or made a mistake. When both are responsible for the failure they share the blame:

I’m sorry

I’m wrong; your right

I apologize

My fault, sorry

Let’s learn from this

We’ll do it right next time

Leaders affirm that they are a source of help if needed:

You can count on me

I’ll try my best

I’m here to help

I’ll help if needed

It’s my pleasure

I’ll support you

Let’s check your data

Leaders remind a worker of his or her importance:

I’m listening

I believe in you

Back me up

I need you

You come highly recommended

Make a suggestion

Leaders delay a conversation for latter when pressed for time or when no immediate answer is possible:

Let’s table that topic for now!

We’ll get back to this later!

Let’s discuss this further at a later time!

10 SIGNS OF BAD MANAGEMENT!!!

bad-manager2

The bad manager tries to manage through fear and frequently threatens to fire an employee and has a high turnover rate with many firings.

The bad manager lies to customers and employees and is not respected or admired because there is no trusting environment established.

The bad manager does not know how to motivate employees with earned praise and appropriate rewards and privileges.

The bad manager creates a bad political atmosphere pitting one employee against another thus creating more conflict than cooperation in the organization.

The bad manager always complains that employees are not working hard enough when he or she themself put forth very little effort.

The bad manager publicly humiliates employees and puts them down thus ruining morale.

The bad manager micromanages employees and interferes in the work process more than necessary.

The bad manager ignores or does not listen to complaints, suggestions, and differing opinions or ideas and doesn’t value employee feedback.

The bad manager assumes an arrogant stance that he or she can do no wrong or never makes mistakes, takes credit for all successes, and blames others when things go wrong.

The bad manager gripes about his or her dysfunctional personal life and just proves that not only is he or she disliked at work but that humans in his or her personal life also dislike him or her.

CONCLUSION:

A good manager can be respected and feared if he or she is honest, competent, and just in the treatment of employees. A lying, incompetent, and unjust manager who just tries to manage through fear alone will almost always be a failure and there will be terrible morale among the workers.

THE TRUTH ABOUT INCENTIVES***

logo

Incentive: n. creating a motivating subset(s)

Pleasure, fear, pride, role models, money, status, and helping others are the primary incentives or motivating factors in human behavior(s). We generally do what gives us pleasure and do or don’t do something to avoid what we fear. We also generally want to be proud of the things which we do or achieve. We also are frequently incentivized to imitate successful role models even though the role models in our lives are not that successful.

We all like to feel important about ourselves and would like others to think highly of us so that motivates many to try and make enough money, have some status, and help others in our daily lives.

Much personal failure and social failure can be the result of addictive bad behaviors acquired in childhood from bad role models but acquiring bad addictive behaviors in adulthood can also lead to much personal and social failure. Crises in life are sometimes the incentives which are needed to change some of our bad addictive behaviors, especially if we are getting considerable satisfaction from them.

We should all be incentivized to be good and do good in society. Unfortunately moral decay is continuing and many don’t know what being moral really means any more.  Many are floundering in a moral vacuum which results in failed human relationships and dysfunctional lifestyles. Failing personal lives are reflected in failed leadership lives. The society is in decay and corruption is becoming rampant.

Humans need just purpose in their lives to give it meaning and only an updated secular morality can give it to them. Young impressionable lives should be indoctrinated in elementary school with a just morality which is- except in emergency situations- don’t destroy biodiversity, don’t lie, don’t be inefficient, don’t steal, don’t commit adultery if married, and don’t murder.

If you know what be good and do good in society means then you are probably morally sound and are leading a relatively successful life.

THE TRUTH ABOUT APATHY***

Apathy

Apathy: n. sensing and/or showing minimal motivation

Apathy is being minimally motivated to react or act on an event(s) which  exists in our lives.

Voter apathy is frequently a fact of life and the reason may be that human’s have more important priorities in their lives or that they genuinely feel that their vote will not make a significant difference in their lives so they choose not to vote.

Apathy has a tendency to disappear if you sense that your actions will have some effect on the outcome of a situation and will benefit you in some way.

The powerless who are not struggling to survive are frequently the most apathetic humans because they sense that they have nothing hugely important to do which will change their lives for the better.

Personal and national crises frequently shock you out of your apathy.

THE TRUTH ABOUT AMBITION***

Ambition-is-so-powerful-a-passion

Ambition: n. setting of a goal(s) with an intense desire and it is usually a goal(s) with a relatively great importance in society.

Many humans confuse ambition with making and achieving any goal such as owning a big house, luxurious car, yacht, traveling to many places, seeing interesting events in different countries, doing different sports, or in effect making a bucket list of things to do and trying to do them all. This abundant activity is really not true ambition but doing a large quantity of rather mundane things in your life which other humans with enough money can also do relatively easily.

True ambition for humans with great memory for names and events is making loftier goals, setting your sights high, and trying to achieve prestigious leadership positions in politics, business, military, religion, and relatively big organizations such as non profits. Those who have a very good memory and ambition can aspire to excelling in careers such as medicine, law, science, engineering, computer science, and acting.

Too many are delusional and aspire to celebrity status in the media and music. Some humans just want to ambitiously make much money and rather quickly so they try to get a prestigious position on Wall street or try to become a leading banker.

Many are very ambitious with little inborn talent or average memories and think that through hard work and persistence that they will achieve their lofty goals only to discover a sea of disappointment, failure, and premature burnout. You can become a leader in a big pond or a small one and if you feel that you don’t have enough natural talent to make it nationally or internationally then settle for becoming a leader locally.

The fascinating truism about ambition is that when you achieve your goals you are never satisfied and want more success or even greater prestige or celebrity status. Historically great conquerors and leaders unsatisfied with their great achievements and power tried to become immortal gods and failed miserably. Our true ambition would be to live forever and knowing that this is impossible we hope that our celebrity is so great that future generations will remember us forever for our achievements.

Even greatly propagandized written works like the bible and other religious works will not live forever except perhaps on some digital storage device out of reach for most in the general public.

The archaic written word or language is changing and religious writings need some serious updating if they are to keep their relevance in the 21st century.

THE HIDDEN MEANING OR TRUTH IN MOTIVATION***

motivation

Motivation is frequently thought of as getting someone to do something or achieve a goal(s) and what is not realized is that doing something right frequently means not doing something which will prevent us from achieving the goal(s).

Proper motivation is sometimes accompanied by a warning that you should not do something along the way which will interfere with your goal(s) achievement.

Motivation does not have a true antonym such as blocking or preventing a behavior but the blocking or preventing is an integral part of the motivation process where only some things are prevented or blocked so that the motivation can proceed successfully to its conclusion or goal(s).

Proper motivation is not just emotionally stimulating a desire to win or succeed with promises of rewards, commands, encouragements, and even instilling some fear with threats of punishment if the goal(s) is not achieved. To properly motivate you must have taught how to achieve by warning of the possible mistakes which should not be made along the way.

“Cross the street by yourself but look both ways before you do” is the proper way to motivate offspring to cross the street but in safety with an appropriate warning.

“Get the job done in a week but remember to get enough sleep so that you can function efficiently every day” is an example of properly motivating an employee  who historically has frequently shown up tired for work.

The hidden truth is that to motivate properly you must also frequently have a good knowledge or understanding of the weaknesses of the one whom you want to motivate. Warning of the weaknesses or suggesting real ways to minimize those weaknesses is an important part of the motivational process or motivation!!!!!!

The other hidden truth not found in the definition of motivation is that selfmotivation is what you need the most in life to achieve success. If you mostly depend on others to motivate you then you may sometimes be waiting forever to get off your butt and do something truly useful with your life.

Motivation: n. stimulating and/or preventing a behavior(s) with a subset(s) which is frequently done with (the promise of a reward and/or punishment) and/or (a command and/or an encouragement(s)) and/or (a threat and/or a warning)

Selfmotivation: n. motivated by one’s desire(s) and/or need(s) and/or belief(s) and/or past experiences which activate and/or prevent one’s behavior(s)

THE TRUTH ABOUT ENCOURAGEMENT

3475155-encouragement-road-sign-with-dramatic-clouds-and-sky

Encouragement: n. caring for and/or motivating an animal(s) so that a goal(s) can be achieved

Offspring need more encouragement than adults and sometimes caring or nurturing and protecting them gives them the courage to explore their environment and is the encouragement they need to live a challenging relatively fear free existence. Verbal rewards in the form of praise are what offspring crave and motivates them to behave and do things which the parents approve of.

Food treats and toys should not be used as motivating devices to get offspring to behave because they will associate good behavior with food and toy rewards which are external motivators and will not develop necessary internal self-motivation to behave well.

The best kind of encouragement for offspring is parental involvement or sharing of educational experiences which teach offspring about the necessary knowledge and skills needed in this world. Encouraging offspring well is being a good role model and doing the things which you expect your offspring to also do.

Adults also need encouragement with praise, assurance, emotional empathy, good advice, instruction, and sometimes money rewards to get them to achieve worthwhile goals.

Sometimes persuasion is necessary to encourage a human to do something which they may at first be reluctant to do on their own.

If you are honest, sincere, dependable, trustworthy, caring, and competent then your encouragement will be more respected and accepted more frequently by other humans.

THE TRUTH ABOUT CHALLENGE

challenges

Challenge: v. to try to achieve a goal(s) which will take an above average quantity of effort to achieve and frequently does not have a great probability of being achieved and/or to ask to compete in a subset(s)

In life there are many challenges. We are asked to compete with others to see who can read, run, or do a task the fastest. We compete with others for grades, jobs, and spouses and have many other challenges or goals in life which we try to fulfill to the best of our ability.

Individuals compete with one another but so do organizations and nations. Life is filled with challenges along the way and some of us do a better job of achieving them than others because we are born talented or with better physical and mental abilities and circumstances.

Other humans will challenge you in life but it is more important to challenge yourself and set worthwhile goals to achieve in your life.

THE TRUTH ABOUT CHARISMA

charisma1

Charisma: n. a rare personal quality of some leaders who arouse popular intense devotion and enthusiasm and is considered to be a form of very intense human attraction

Today most charismatic leaders who arouse popular intense devotion and enthusiasm have excellent memories, try to be honest, sincere, dependable, are good conversationalists,  are good public speakers, and are trustworthy and frequently show their competence by growing the organization which they are in charge of.

Steve Jobs and Richard Branson are modern day examples of successful charismatic leaders. Historically charismatic leaders were military leaders and rulers who had military success and increased the standard of living for many of their devoted followers.

Historically there were also diabolical charismatic leaders such as Hitler who had a gift for military conquest, public oratory, propaganda, and a glorification of the humans which he led. Ruthless, cruel, and even evil can be words used to describe some historically diabolical charismatic leaders.

Charisma to a large extent depends on whether you are successful in motivating others to share in your vision which frequently has relevance in the lives of the followers and satisfies their needs and wants for status and/or possessions.

THE TRUTH ABOUT GOALS

Goals

What is the purpose of life? One way of looking at life is to say that it is the setting of goals and achieving them consciously and/or unconsciously.

Eating and drinking are daily goals and we frequently have to decide what we will eat and drink and when. Other common goals are schooling, working, shopping, socializing, getting married, dating, and enjoying pleasant pastimes.

Most of us settle into routines or habitual behaviors and just live life without making any dramatic long duration goals which frequently require much talent such as becoming a celebrity, business success, or an important leader in an organization.

Few of us consciously set priorities in our life and determine which goals are realistically worth pursuing and which ones aren’t that important to strive for and do because they are not that realistic or they are just a waste of time, energy, and money. This leads many to lead rather mundane lives with some randomness which seldom results in huge successes or achievements in life.

Not many budget their money, set priorities, schedule time in their life, and make long duration goals but have their hands full and are caught up in the daily struggle to survive financially, just try to hold on to a job, and live life struggling with many setbacks, disappointments, and failures.

Life is ever changing for most of us and what we do as young adults, in middle age, and in old age can be very different with different sets of priorities or goals.

Finally that you can be what you want to be is not always a good philosophy to have because you may be biting off more than you can chew or can be setting unrealistic goals in your life. It is very important that you consciously try to assess you true abilities and potential and make realistic goals so that you don’t become pessimistic about life and live a tragic life of too much failure and disappointment.

You can still be happy with life if you no longer have lofty goals but more realistic ones which will not stress you out and be constant blows to your ego and sense of self-worth.

CONCLUSION:

Budgeting your money, setting priorities, scheduling the time in your life, working hard, and learning new skills and knowledge are great goals to have and they will help you to make much progress in life but they may not be enough to land you your dream job or a prestigious leadership position.

Instead of becoming pessimistic and sinking into depression readjust your priorities or goals in life to more realistic ones.

Don’t be afraid of change which may lead to new possibilities of failure because new experiences will help to teach you more about your real potential in life. You will learn and make adjustments and hopefully optimize the possible realistic happiness in your life.

If you don’t like the way things are turning out then set new priorities or make new goals and there is a good chance that things will improve or you may have to change your goal priorities again if there is no improvement which satisfies you.

Never give up living life because it is the only life which you were given. Make the best of it that you can!

THE TRUTH ABOUT MOTIVATION

motivation-board

Motivation: n. stimulating and/or preventing a behavior(s) with a subset(s) which is frequently done with (the promise of a reward and/or punishment) and/or (a command and/or an encouragement(s)) and/or a threat

Humans and things can motivate our behavior or create desires which make us do things. A desire arises and we either fulfill that desire right away or we delay the fulfillment of the desire until a later time.

A desire to do something or not do something is probably motivated by a reward and/or punishment and ultimately it is a desire to achieve a goal.

Many of us have simple goals such as eating, drinking, working, and enjoying life with pleasant pastimes.

Others also have complex goals such as making much money, starting a business or organization, learning complicated skills for a high paying profession, and writing a best seller.

Staying motivated or maintaining a desire for a long duration trying to achieve complex goals is very hard because it frequently means much sustained hard work, many failures, much support from other humans, and an undying devotion which few are willing to make. Unrelenting self-motivation is necessary to achieve long duration complex goals and it helps if you have talent which makes the achievement much easier.

The success of other humans and ongoing support from family, close friends, teachers, coworkers, coaches, mentors, inspirational leaders, and role models can all be sources of motivation which keeps you trying to achieve important goals even in the face of much hardship and setbacks.

Not frequently mentioned is the importance that emotional motivation plays in successful human relationships and even relationships on the job. Life has many setbacks and if you find a significant other who supports you emotionally when you are struggling with personal or job problems then you are truly being helped or supported. If you reciprocate the emotional support then this can create a symbiotic relationship which will thrive through the good and bad times.

On the job having a boss who cares about maintaining your emotional optimism by appropriate praise, always acknowledging the contribution you make and not stealing it from you, delegating some authority to you, letting you improve your skills on the job, and sometimes saying something good about you in the presence of coworkers can be effective in giving you a sense of purpose on the job. This will make you feel good enough even though you may not be rewarded with as much money as you think that you deserve as a reward.

CONCLUSION:

We have many desires in our lives which motivate us to do good and bad things and our priorities may change in life depending upon the circumstances. That is why it is important to try and find good humans to associate with who motivate us to do good things and not bad things, moral things and not immoral ones.

Learning to prioritize our desires and controlling them successfully is a major key to happiness. Uncontrolled impulsive desires, especially if they are bad, can lead to a life of misery and turmoil so try to change those impulsive bad desires before they ruin a potentially good life.

There are many rewards and punishments in life. If you are smart then you will try to optimize your rewards and minimize the punishments with a realistic appraisal of your abilities so that you don’t crash and burn trying to do the impossible or  desiring what you can’t have.

WHAT IS PSYCHOLOGICAL DEATH?

download (4)

We all understand physical death and we fear it but few of us realize that there is also psychological death which is the end or death of a relationship and/or reputation and/or possession. Fear of psychological death or fearful anxiety is based on knowing in our mind that we have a relationship, reputation, and possessions and fearing that we will lose that relationship, reputation, or possessions.

It is true that once a relationship, reputation, or possession ends it still lingers in the conscious and subconscious mind and there is sometimes slight hope that the relationship, reputation, or possession can be resurrected but for all practical purposes most of us accept the loss as a permanent death and sometimes mourn it when it happens.

Much of our behavior is motivated by fear or the fear of losing something and we act accordingly.

Not wanting our good social reputation to die we frequently tell the truth, dress and look a certain way, and behave in ways which we think are appropriate to relationships and generally consider our behavior to be psychologically safe and hope it will not cause failure, criticism, ostracism, or censure.

We fear the end or death of something which we value or believe in and are psychologically distressed and even saddened if we can no longer experience something which we value, believe, or find pleasure in.

Fortunately many of us are motivated by a desire to achieve something good or pleasurable. However, most of us do not have the courage to overcome our handicapping fears and infrequently bravely venture forth trying to achieve good goals and experiences which are frequently risky or even dangerous but having them makes many lives fulfilling and worth living.

CONCLUSION:

Fear of psychological death frequently causes us to be less courageous and adventurous than we ought to be.  Overcoming many of those fears is the key to a happy life and frequently a successful one. An optimistic attitude that we are not as stupid, crazy, incompetent, and powerless as we think we are can greatly help us to overcome many fears of psychological death which we all have.

Anxiety: n. an unpleasant sensing of uncertainty and/or low to medium intensity fear resulting from the anticipation of a (realistic and/or fantasized dangerous event(s)) and/or (threatening event(s) and/or circumstance(s))

THE TRUTH ABOUT BOREDOM

106958-104597

You can get bored from having nothing to do, from doing something for too long, and from doing something too frequently.

Most offspring are not bored and frequently find something to do even though that something sometimes gets them into trouble.

Many young adults are stuck in boring jobs doing repetitive tasks over and over again and sometimes waiting a long time doing nothing while waiting for customers to come or call. It is one of the main reasons why so many of them don’t stay in one minimum wage job for very long but chose even the same job at a different location perhaps hoping that the next job won’t be as boring.

Those stuck in boring unsatisfying jobs frequently resort to alcohol and drugs as a form of escape from boredom or a boring life. The result is sometimes bad job performance, firing, or accidents on the job causing many to become dysfunctional members of society bringing on much depression and unhappiness in their lives.

Retirees have almost no work to do so they may become very bored but usually find something interesting to do which motivates them to live another day.

Some are hyper individuals and usually find something to do while others are lazy and prefer not to do much. Those who are hyper frequently have less of a tolerance for boredom than the lazy ones.

Finally if you are bored then start doing something different and your boredom will probably disappear for at least a little while until you get bored again.

After almost a year and a half of blogging on a daily basis I am starting to get bored because I am starting to repeat myself even though I have written about so many topics. I will try to write about something new or different but the truth about ____ as a theme is running low on ideas.

Of course one can always improve on something one has written so maybe I will just review some old topic and try to write about it in a more exciting interesting way which will be hard for me because my writing style is rather dry and logical. Maybe my next attempts will be inspirational instead of factual or informative writings only.

MONEY IS FREQUENTLY NOT THE BEST MOTIVATOR IN COMPLEX WORK!!!

motivation2jh1

For physical work more money as a reward frequently translates into better or more work. For complicated mental work a sense of self-worth, some autonomy to improve or develop a skill set, and having a purpose to the job beyond mere profit is frequently more important.

Having goals beyond mere money and having the creative freedom to pursue those goals autonomously to some extent can produce superior on the job performance.

This link provides some scientific evidence to support these findings in a very interesting informative format.
