THE TRUTH ABOUT EVALUATE*

evaluate

Evaluate: v. to judge the value of a subset(s) based on a subjective and/or objective (standard(s) and/or norm(s))

How valuable something is may be a subjective personal opinion or a consensus of personal opinions on the value of something.  You may also use an established value standard or norm as a basis for comparison with the value which you feel something has.

Most standards and norms are subjective in nature and it is only those grounded in science with mathematical calculations that can truly be called objective values.

How rare something is frequently determines its monetary value to a large degree. Usually the rarer something is the more valuable it is with the possible exception of rare diseases and rare behavioral abnormalities which can be considered to have negative value monitarily.

Personality characteristics have social value which translates into monetary value also but there is no direct mathematical formula which guarantees that x characteristic has m value monitarily. There is only a statistical probability that if you have personality characteristics x, y, and z that your monetary value will be approximately m  p percent of the time.

The marketplace often determines the monetary value of something and it is disastrous that rare rhino horn and elephant ivory has such a high price because killing and extinction is directly proportional to the value of something in the wilderness.

If a wilderness plant or animal is domesticated and raised for ongoing profit then the wild species can continue to thrive untouched by human civilization provided that their real estate is not stolen from them by agricultural greed.

THE TRUTH ABOUT EXCESS*

excess

Excess: n. deviating from a norm(s) and/or limit(s) which is more than desired and/or necessary and frequently considered bad

If you are excessive weight, excessive pride, excessive cost, excessive chocolate, excessive pollution,  excessive baggage, and have excessive noise then you generally have too much of something and it is usually considered bad for one reason or another.

THE TRUTH ABOUT EXTREME*

extreme-adventure-mud-logo-graphic-text-20083928

Extreme: adj. largely deviating from a norm(s) and/or cloose to either limit(s)

There are extreme limits of very hot and very cold and there are also extremes in behavior norms which are either considered crazy or bordering on mental illness. Most of us are rather normal and don’t go to extreme limits nor do extreme behaviors which others may disapprove of.

Too much extremism is generally bad but going to extremes once in a while is not necessarily the worst thing which can happen because it reminds us that danger lurks there and it is wise to approach extremes with caution.

I may be called an extremist trying to change the world with my logical definitions of words but I sincerely or fanatically believe that language needs radical improvement or humanity will continue to wallow in much irrational emotional behavior on into the foreseeable future. Humanity will continue to make historical behavior mistakes over and over again with a handicapping language which hasn’t changed much in 2000 years.

THE TRUTH ABOUT GOODNESS*

simplicity-goodness-truth

Goodness: n. being (morally and/or physically) desirable and/or achieving a subjective and/or objective (standard(s) and/or norm(s))

Each of us has our personal opinion of what good is based upon our knowledge and experience in life. What you find morally and/or physically desirable you probably consider good. If something meets or achieves your subjective and/or objective standards and/or norms then you also probably think that it is good.

Since an evaluation of what is good is so personal you will find plenty of other humans who might feel that what you consider to be good is in their opinion bad and they may try to convince you of this personally undesirable reality.

For humans the most important consideration should be moral goodness but the morality should apply to humans worldwide. The absolute morality of cliquish religions and cults is no longer acceptable because it promotes conflict and not unity of humans on the face of this precious endangered planet. A new good secular morality must be preached worldwide to unify the world of humans morally.

The new moral goodness should be-except in emergencies: don’t destroy biodiversity, don’t lie, don’t be inefficient, don’t steal, don’t commit adultery if married, and don’t murder!!!!!! This is true worldwide moral goodness.

THE TRUTH ABOUT LIMIT+

6846725_orig

Limit: n. determining the maximum and/or minimum of a subset(s) which can be communicated as a (degree and/or quantity) and/or (number and/or a point(s) in space) and/or determining a time beyond which it is (impossible and/or undesirable) and/or forbidden to move and/or determining a behavior beyond which it is (impossible and/or undesirable) and/or forbidden to move

There are physical limits and behavioral limits or norms and laws beyond which it is impossible or undesirable to go in the short or long duration.

Ignore physical limits and an accident, unhealth, or even death is the result.

Ignore or disobey social norms and the probability that you will have bad relationships with most other humans increases.

Disobey a law and the chances are great that you will be punished if caught by authorities or informed on by onlookers who provide evidence to authorities.

Some groups and many criminals form to secretly to pursue undesirable or forbidden social behaviors. Some social norms are disobeyed privately since there is generally more freedom to behave as you chose or want privately.

The smart human is well informed on physical limits and tries to live within them. A socially smart human limits behavior within moral limits and only disobeys morality in some relatively rare emergency circumstances, especially if a good reputation has a high priority in their public lives.

Criminals can have a good reputation among other criminals but not in public once their criminality or immorality is publicly known.

THE TRUTH ABOUT NORMAL+

download

Normal: adj. conformity with a standard norm of a set or subset and/or 100% of the subsets for a set

What is normal for one group of humans may not be normal for another group of humans so normalcy is dependent on the group which you are talking about.

Normal public behavior is more restrictive but even here normal public behavior in different cultures can vary considerably.

Special occasions have behaviors which are not considered normal in most other instances. You can dress up on Halloween and go trick or treating and many communities will let you get away with setting off fireworks on the fourth of July.

Humans have their own strongly held opinions on what normal food, normal drink, normal dress, normal behavior, normal cars, normal houses, and normal stores are.

Humans are creatures of normal habits and any deviation from them is usually considered unacceptable and there is even some fear associated with deviating too much from personal normal activity.

Many humans fear trying out new potentially healthy foods and drinks simply because it is not the normal thing which they do day in and day out.

THE TRUTH ABOUT PRECOCIOUSNESS+

images

Precociousness: n. developing and/or having a behavior(s) much earlier than the norm

You have all heard and marveled at musical and math prodigies and all of these are examples of precocious offspring who have developed extraordinary ability before their years.

Precocity should be encouraged and I can envision some teenagers with scooter and motorcycle privileges and some 16 year olds who have graduated high school having full voting rights as adults.

THE TRUTH ABOUT NONCONFORMITY+

Nonconformity_by_the_chosen_pessimist

Nonconformity: n. deviating in (appearance and/or behavior) and/or lifestyle relative to a group of humans with normative standards

Coloring your hair purple or pink if it is not Halloween is a sign of nonconformity. Piercing your lips or nose with a ring is also a sign of nonconformity although it is perfectly acceptable among some social groups of humans. Laughing at a cripple or cruelty is nonconformist behavior.

Ultimately nonconformity is relative to the norms of a group and if your group is small enough then you may be conforming to the norms of the small group but not conforming to the norms of a larger group or society in general.

There are nonconformist looks, behaviors, and lifestyles. Cults are frequently considered nonconformist lifestyles.

Weird, strange, bizarre, shocking, unusual, or uncommon is frequently used to describe nonconformist behavior.

THE TRUTH ABOUT MONITORING+

page view

Monitor: v. to maintain a periodic systematic observation of the progress and/or quality of a subset(s) to determine whether deviations are too extreme from accepted norms and/or standards

Usually monitoring devices are technological devices which accurately determine the functioning of mechanical, electrical, and body parts. Human monitors or more accurately supervisors not only monitor but also control humans to make sure that they don’t deviate too far from accepted norms and/or standards.

Monitoring devices are frequently used in conjunction with control devices to perform or regulate functions automatically.

THE TRUTH ABOUT APPROPRIATENESS+

9-credit-1-660x660

Appropriateness: n. adding and/or subtracting a subset(s) necessary for a different subset(s) and being normative and acceptable for the circumstances

Appropriate private behavior is sometimes not appropriate in public and social norms are frequently challenged by the younger generation bringing their private lives and behaviors into the public eye. To be appropriate in public we frequently have to modify a behavior to make it acceptable by adding and/or subtracting something which we say or do.

Creative humans also have to keep some of their creative efforts private because they are sometimes inappropriate for display in public. Social norms and acceptable standards frequently determine the appropriateness of a behavior, information, product, and service.

The punishment for deviating from social norms and accepted standards is frequently rejection, failure, ridicule, laughter, criticism, condemnation, condescension, name calling, insults, disrespect, ostracism, and humiliation.

Have radical views and start publishing them on the internet and there is a high probability that you will be censored in some way.
