WHAT ARE SOME USEFUL PARENTING QUOTES?

22 updated new quotes on parenting by Uldis Sprogis:

Every offspring needs and deserves good parents but all parents do not need nor deserve offspring.

Offspring are great imitators so give them something great to imitate.

Your offspring will eventually follow your example and will only follow your advice if they respect you so be an example worthy of respect.

If you raise offspring who value their INTEGRITY then you have succeeded as a parent.

Never do for offspring what they can do themselves.

Bad parenting creates assholes and immoral behavior.

Smart and wise parents prepare their offspring to live on their own.

Offspring rebel against parental behavior because they have incomplete understanding, sense injustice in parental behavior, are motivated by peer pressure, or have selfish motives.

Disciplining your offspring to assume personal moral, household, and social responsibilities is the purpose of proper discipline.

As soon as offspring are smart enough but not tall enough, provide them with a sturdy stool to stand on and assign them responsible tasks such as personal hygiene, cleaning chores, organizing chores, food shopping, and food preparation.

A shared strong morality with integrity and mutual responsible parenting usually results in marital harmony and moral responsible offspring.

Nothing succeeds in giving offspring a sense of security more than parents who respect one another and behave affectionately.

Always remember that a marriage is not just between a male and female, it also includes the offspring.

Most of skillful careful parenting is being able to nurture and protect your offspring but not overprotect them from the real world and make them dependent on parents too long.

Parenting is morally conditional behavior. If it weren’t then offspring would be lying, stealing, cheating, and fighting at will and parents would be powerless to stop them no matter how much unconditional love they exhibited.

History repeats itself because aggressive, selfish, emotional, violence prone human nature is inherited from generation to generation. Each time offspring challenge parental tradition with rebellious attitudes which makes for a tumultuous society always trying to remain civilized and eternally fighting immorality and human vice.

Family morality or a dysfunctional lifestyle is passed on to offspring which is why being as good a role model parent as possible is so important. You should seriously consider foregoing offspring if you will be a dysfunctional role model parent or don’t really want the responsibility of raising offspring.

Understand that if a woman is financially independent before you marry then she wants and needs your loyalty, loving, devotion, emotional support, and parenting skills more than your money because she can survive financially on her own.

Most marriages are transitions from independent living to responsible parenting which many fear because of a reduction in personal freedom and the added burden of supporting offspring financially and emotionally.

Theoretically the economic purpose of successful parenting and education should be to create independent economic units from dependent ones in the long duration. Realistically even adult economic units are increasingly becoming dependent on the government because the economic system can no longer guarantee lifetime employment for all who want to work but lack ever more complex work skills needed in the workplace.

The strength of a nation originates from the moral integrity and financial responsibility of the family unit.

Destroy a moral financially responsible independent family unit and you have destroyed a free nation.

Elusive but necessary is finding the right balance between the pursuit of future goals and fulfilling present responsibilities.

HEALTH AND GUT MICROBIOME!!!

There is a general adage that states that a healthy mother usually results in healthy offspring. Not only do good genetics play a role in a healthy offspring but also the healthy or unhealthy habits of the mother.

A mother who drinks alcohol heavily, takes drugs, smokes, has a bad diet, and doesn’t get much exercise during pregnancy can all adversely affect the health of offspring. Only relatively recently is statistical evidence mounting that the gut microbiome or gut bacteria have a significant role to play in the health of the offspring as well as the mother.

There is scientific evidence that vaginal births are preferable to cesarean section births because of the healthy effect of vaginal microbes on offspring. That breast milk is preferable to formula milk is an established fact. Breast milk results in offspring with fewer allergies, food sensitivity, and a better immune system for the offspring.

A good gut microbiome is not only important for the offspring but also for a maturing adult. Adults who have taken large doses of antibiotics and antibiotics in general have unhealthier microbiomes which take a long time to recover if they recover at all. The kind of food that you ingest also has a great effect on the microbiome of the adult and offspring.

Malnutrition or a bad diet severely affects the health of offspring. Eating overly processed food, too much sugar, food laced with unnatural chemicals, and not having enough variety in the diet can adversely affect the microbiome of an adult. Also if you eat organic then the probability that you will be healthier in the long duration increases.

Statistically it has been shown that transplanting feces from a healthy donor into an unhealthy gut microbiome of a patient can sometimes cure some chronic diseases, autoimmune problems, obesity, mood disorders, depression, anxiety, and even diabetes.

In aging adults there is a greater variety of microbes in the gut and this is sometimes an indication of more fragile health. Studies still have to be made to conclusively show that introducing the youthful healthy microbiome of a 20 year old into the gut microbiome of an elderly adult has beneficial results but that seems to be a high probability of being so.

Prebiotics or food which is not digestible such as fiber can ferment in the gut and produce some vitamins and it promotes good gut health. Probiotics or actual healthy gut bacteria can be introduced into the gut in capsule form to promote a healthier gut microbiome.

You are what you eat and drink is more scientifically valid than ever before because it means that if you eat healthy with as much organic food as possible then your gut microbiome will be healthier in the long duration.

If you want greater detail on the gut microbiome then research it yourself or read a good book on the subject.

18 QUESTIONS YOU SHOULD ASK BEFORE MARRIAGE!!!

The two most important priorities in marriage are finances and offspring. It is very smart to make sure that you are on the same page on these two topics and have similar views on spending money or perhaps even saving some. Six questions you should ask are-

How much money should we both be making before having children?

Will we have enough money saved to take care of childcare when we have a newborn or will just one of us be working for a while?

About how many offspring would you like to raise or support?

If we won $10,000 how would you spend it?

How long do you think you will be working at your current job before you either get promoted or move on to a better job elsewhere?

What kind of work do you think you will be doing ten years from now?

4 important questions to ask relate to fidelity and promiscuity which is a very important subject to discuss because next to finances adultery is the second major cause for divorce in what is turning out to be a relatively hedonous western society with an overemphasis on sex and the pursuit of pleasure.

Beware, because old bad habits are hard to break or eliminate and if your future spouse has a history of great promiscuity then the chances are great that promiscuity will continue in the future too after marriage. Another important area to probe is a possible addiction to pornography and possible kinky sexual turn-ons which should be discussed prior to marriage to see whether they may handicap a consensual sexual relationship.

Are you monogamous?

What do you consider cheating in marriage?

About how many women or men have you slept with before you met me?

What turns you on sexually?

Housework can be a source for many arguments and you should determine whose responsibility it will be beforehand or whether you will be sharing the load and be assigned tasks to do such as cleaning, doing laundry, meal preparation, doing the dishes, taking out the garbage, yardwork, gardening, etc. Hopefully you won’t get into an argument about this is women’s work or this is man’s work because routine work is work no matter who does it.

Who will be responsible for the housework or will we be sharing it and how?

In-laws can be a major source for marital disagreement especially if some of them want to get involved in your marriage. Even worse is if they decide that they want to run it for you and are always critical of one spouse and take sides in marital disagreements. It is important to get a ball park idea on how important parents and in-laws will be in a marriage, especially if they are overly critical, combative, and don’t get along well with either spouse.

How involved will we get in supporting your parents in retirement years?

What role will your family play in our marriage?

What will you do if I get into a fight with your family?

What is also important is finding out how much of an introvert or extrovert your potential spouse is. You may find a very reclusive spouse unsettling and may start complaining about being ignored. On the other hand an extreme extrovert may spend too much time with other humans and once again you may begin to feel ignored. In either case, try to find out if you are going to have to deal with an extreme introvert or an extreme extrovert which may be disruptive to marital life.

How much space or time for yourself do you need?

What things do you enjoy doing by yourself?

Many of us just live from day to day without consciously planning or thinking about the future in any significant way. Some of us do have long duration goals so it is important to know how marriage will affect those goals.

What is your goal or purpose in life and how do you envision a partner fitting into it?

Finally, compatibility is often a function of similar likes and loves so it is important to find out in some detail what your potential spouse loves, hates, likes, and dislikes. If you find out that your morality is different or that you have radically different views on raising offspring then this can become a major source of arguments, disagreements, and unnecessary turmoil.

What do you love and hate the most and what do you like and dislike?
