THE TRUTH ABOUT PASSION+

Passion

Passion: n. mentally sensing very intensely with some difficulty maintaining control and the behaviors which exist with it

You have probably not met many passionate humans unless you have interactions with humans who really love the work that they do or are intensely devoted to some pastime such as a sport which they enjoy tremendously.

Passionate teachers are rare but passionate humans can frequently motivate you to investigate what they are being so passionate about and passion is sometimes very contagious.

There is a saying that if you love your work then it really isn’t work at all.  Being passionate about your work or some hobby is a desirable position to be in and the chances that you feel that your life is a happy one are greatly increased.

If you liked this evergreen truth blog then read more of them, about 1900 so far, or read one or more of my evergreen truth books, especially COMMON SENSE, rays of truth in a human world filled with myths and deceptions.

THE TRUTH ABOUT DEVOTION

Devotion-Graphic-web

Devotion: n. frequently showing loverelating commitment and frequently investing a relatively large amount of (time and/or money) and/or effort into samer commitment

Lovrelate: v. to sense much lovin and affection and liking for a subset(s) but not simultaneously

Commitment: n. attaching to a goal(s) for duration

Devotion means that you are not only committed to something but you also love or lovrelate that something and frequently invest much time, money, and effort into the commitment.

Devotion to a human(s) is the most frequent type but you can also be devoted to a cause such as a religion or a conservation organization.

Sometimes you can start off by being devoted to a marriage and latter it becomes merely a commitment without much love and the only reason that you stay married is because you promised the relationship would last a lifetime and you decide to keep that promise.

I am devoted to my marriage and the pursuit of truth which includes trying to logically define important words but other humans may merely be devoted to staying alive in this frequently unjust world.

If you are not devoted to anything important then find or pursue a passion or passions in your life and devote yourself to it or them and you may get much satisfaction doing so.

FOLLOW YOUR PASSION OR DO A GOOD PAYING USEFUL JOB??

Simon Cowell

Follow your passion is frequently not the best advice for a fulfilling good job. Star celebrity musicians, singers, actors, sport athletes, news casters, radio talk show gurus, writers, and fashion designers get the most attention and get many passionate followers all hoping to be like them.

Sadly you need much inborn talent and an excellent memory which most humans don’t have and the result is frequently much failure and disappointment for all the passionate human followers. Those socially glorified great paying jobs are frequently held by one in a million humans and most humans don’t realize that the odds are stacked against you succeeding in any of the above fields.

To be truly happy and successful you need to find a useful and successful job which you can handle mentally and physically and make good money at it.

Here is an article in the Huffington Post which shows you that some of the happiest humans are not the ones who followed their passion but found a useful good paying job instead and are happy doing it.

THE TRUTH ABOUT PASSION

always-be-passionate

Passion: n. mentally sensing very intensely with some difficulty maintaining control and the behaviors which exist with it

Pursue your passion is frequently the advice given to someone who wants to become successful or live a happy life.  This is a rather amoral way of looking at life because what may make you passionately happy may be something which will hurt you in the long duration. Some are passionate about sex, pornography, gambling, partying, drinking alcohol, and doing drugs which all can lead to rather dysfunctional lifestyles and even death in some cases of severe drug addictions.

The first rule to follow would be to pick your passions carefully because they are frequently addictive and you don’t want to become a slave to the bad passions which you may be pursuing.

Passions have number, intensity, frequency, and duration

Not everyone puts all their eggs into one basket or one passion. It is entirely possible to be passionate about more than one thing and it is even advisable to be passionate about more than one thing so that you have a backup plan B and maybe even C if plan A does not work out or you become dissatisfied with its pursuit.

I have been a physics teacher, a computer programmer and systems analyst, a builder, a mortgage investor, a remodeler, a landlord, and am currently writing much in my retirement years mostly based on the research into truth which I have done throughout a lifetime and am still doing now. My plan A, B, C, D and E didn’t last very long and I am currently engaged in plan F and G.

Few realize that achieving the goal of some passions requires inborn talent frequently accompanied by a very good memory and if you don’t have the talent and good memory then you are dreaming the impossible dream if you want to become president, a rocket scientist, doctor, celebrity, talk show monolith, sports star, or famous writer.

How passionate you are about something is determined by how emotionally satisfying it is, how frequently you engage in your passionate pursuit, and how long you spend in hours pursuing it. If you are passionate about your job then you love it, spend every day at it except maybe weekends, and you probably put in more than just 40 hours a week.

How long you totally spend on your passion depends on how long it lasts and continues to give you satisfaction. If you lose your job then you may be able to find a similar one and continue your passion or you may have to go into an entirely different line of work if your job becomes obsolete due to technological advances.

CONCLUSION:

Select you passions carefully and be realistic in your choices since exceptional success frequently requires talent and a very good memory. Passionately working hard at it alone will not be enough to reach that unrealistic idealized goal in life. If you are the average human then you should be passionate about the common things in life such as close friends, nice family, pleasant pastimes such as healthy eating and moderate exercise, and a job with a decent wage.

You will be much happier living a normal passionate life without the unrealistic delusions of grandeur which some humans are burdened with throughout a lifetime and the tragic series of failure which they suffer which is inevitable when you don’t have the ability necessary to reach lofty goals.

INFATUATION MAKES YOU DO SOME STRANGE THINGS!!!

infatuation-628x363[1]

Infatuation: n. a mostly unreasoning lovin for a subset(s)

Infatuation or “falling in love” makes you do some unusual things because the reasoning part of your thinking process gets overridden to a great extent.

Infatuation makes you less able to focus on what you are doing because thoughts of your loved one keep interfering with your work and/or thinking process.

Infatuation makes you high emotionally and it is similar to a cocaine high.

Infatuation can override small feelings of mental pessimism or depression and physical pain.

When infatuated you tend to ignore the need to probe for character flaws or bad habits which your loved one may have.

If you are infatuated then you are more willing to take unnecessary risks for your partner.

Your pupils dilate somewhat when experiencing the emotional high that infatuation gives.

CONCLUSION:

When infatuated the reasoning part of your brain gets severely interfered with and your actions become more impulsive. What this suggests is that you should wait until the infatuation dies down before you commit to a marriage because you may have overlooked some very important facts about your potential spouse which may make the marriage less desirable from a rational point of view.
