9 THINGS WHICH CAN DEMOTIVATE WORKERS!!!

demotivators__by_boomerangmouth

Overworking workers will overstress and overload them causing great dissatisfaction. At the other extreme not giving workers enough work or responsibilities will bore and demotivate them in the workplace and they may start looking for a new job.

An incompetent manager or leader blaming workers for his or her mistakes is a great demotivator.

Trying to box in a worker with ambitions to work his or her way up the corporate ladder or improve him or herself in the workplace is another demotivator.

Constant threats of firing coupled with put downs, name calling, insults, rudeness, humiliation, and ridicule is bad leadership which can really kill morale.

Incompetent leadership in another department which has to interact and operate smoothly with your department can also be a frustrating demotivating force.

A manager or leader not giving credit where credit is due can also demotivate deserving workers.

A manager or leader who shows gross favoritism to a worker, especially if the favoritism is not earned or deserved can be a great demotivator.

A manager or leader who isolates him or herself in the office or gives impossible tasks or unrealistic deadlines to workers and is a bad communicator is a great demotivating force.

A coworker or coworkers who are lazy, backstabbers, or disruptive influences on team morale can also be great demotivator.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BAD BEHAVIOR AND IMMORAL BEHAVIOR???

kids-fighting

Almost no one today speaks about behaving morally in public and humans make the wrong assumption that immorality is just another form of bad behavior and don’t realize that it is really very very bad behavior which needs a totally different reaction from you.

If someone lies to you, steals from you, or commits adultery then that is immoral behavior and you simply don’t forgive and forget and leave yourself open to future victimization. A close trusting relationship and friendship will never develop successfully if that human lies, steals, or commits adultery or is unfaithful to you in a nonmarital relationship.

There is a difference between intentional lies and unintentional lies which we can call bullshit. Society is riddled with myths (historical lies) and deceptions or hidden lies and what you may consider to be an intentional lie may actually be something which another human sincerely believes in and thinks it is the truth and so can be considered to be an unintentional lie. Be careful of accusing someone of lying because it may just be some bullshit that they actually believe in.

Language is also faulty and deceptive in its current form and humans have a tendency to say “you do that all the time” or “you always do that” when the fact is that you may only do it occasionally and it only seems that you do it always. The absolute black or white, yes or no, always or never bias in language usage does not kindly view exceptions to the general rule.

Maybe, sometimes, frequently, and probably are seldom used when they should be used for accuracy and clarity. The exceptions to the general rule may be why you think someone is lying to you. Language is an authoritarian structure designed for obedience and command execution. Do something always comes across as having to do it all the time when in fact you should only be doing many things some of the time when appropriate for the occasion.

Bad behavior can be forgiven and an attempt can be made at trying to forget it because things like getting drunk at a social gathering, spouting profanities, forgetting a birthday or anniversary, anger at your mistakes or bad behavior, not being punctual occasionally, getting harshly criticized, name calling, ridicule, insults, and put downs are bad or hurtful behaviors but they are not immoral behaviors and can be forgiven if they don’t exist all the time but only exist occasionally.

Bad behaviors are not very pleasant and can be the source for much anger and temporary misery but they are usually transient phenomenon which you can tolerate to some extent in your life and relationship.   Relationships have their happy and unhappy moments and unfortunately most fallible humans are not perfect and do bad things once in a while which we should tolerate even though they make us unhappy temporarily.

THE TRUTH ABOUT DEMEAN*

quote-the-moment-anyone-tries-to-demean-or-degrade-you-in-any-way-you-have-to-know-how-great-cicely-tyson-92-95-30

Demean: v. to cause a human(s) to lose their dignity and the respect of others frequently with (insults and/or put downs) and/or (ridicule and/or harsh criticism)

THE TRUTH ABOUT TAUNTING+

WittyFacebookStatusMindPictures-13953

Taunt: v. to provoke with repeated (criticism and/or ridicule) and/or (insults and/or name calling)) frequently due to an imbalance of power

Whether criticism, ridicule, insults, and name calling are used to attack someone it is an attempt to assert dominance or superiority over that someone and get others to indirectly or directly join in.

Taunting provokes anger and aggression from the taunted and there is usually no fear that physical violence will result because frequently the taunter is also physically superior in strength.

Teasing is playful taunting and usually done between equals and usually neither side gets permanently offended. In taunting one side or the taunted side gets offended and there is some frustration that nothing much can be done about the offensive situation. Trash talking may be the attempted defense used by the taunted but there is an implied acceptance of an inferior circumstance which is not challenged very aggressively because there is a realization of relative powerlessness of the taunted in the circumstance.

Taunting usually reveals your weaknesses or flaws and is what makes you feel slightly or greatly inferior to others who don’t have those same weaknesses or flaws.

THE TRUTH ABOUT TEASING+

teasing

Tease: v. to try to provoke mild aggression with some playful ((criticism and/or ridicule) and/or (insults and/or name calling)) which frequently results in transient hurt feelings and sometimes a sense of inferiority which may last for a lifetime

How many times have you heard? Your a momma’s boy, you’re a tomboy, you could have fooled me, I thought you were a faggot, your fat and maybe I should oink at you, you smell like a sewer, flowers are for girls, your nose can touch your lips it is so large, you have ears like an elephant, they could call you Dumbo, if you put on any more makeup you’ll resemble a modern abstract painting, etc. etc.

Playful fun is what it may seem to the one doing the ridiculing, criticism, insult, and name calling but teasing hurts feelings of selfworth and may create future feelings of inadequacy for the very thing which you are being teased for. Teasing is frequently used to get you to conform to some normative standard and if you fall out of range in terms of looks and/or behavior then you are ridiculed or made fun of, criticized, insulted, or name called.

Teasing is mild aggressive behavior and it is really a form of violence on the character and brain of the one being ridiculed. It inflicts psychological pain in the brain and becomes a wound with a scar which may be very small but not totally imperceptible in mental memory. Your ego ultimately is hurt in some way and the sensation may last in your subconscious mind for a very long time even though you usually understand that no harm was meant by the ridicule. Your mental life in some small way has been altered for the worse for a lifetime.

White lies are similar to white ridicule or teasing since some harm is ultimately done by pursuing either course of action. With white lies of exaggerated beauty or exaggerated untrue compliments, just trying to make someone feel good about themselves, you are really creating reality delusions in the human. With white ridicule or teasing you are subconsciously creating a sense of inadequacy which can modify future behavior and feelings in a bad way.

Ultimately teasing is a game of dominance where the teaser in some way feels superior to the one being teased and tries to act as a more powerful or superior human.

Teasing provokes mild aggression because it is an attempt at vengefully ( desiring to punish) reacting for the teasing or mentally violent assault or attack which mild or playful ridicule basically is.

Don’t tease since it’s not kind and/or don’t tease because it’s not polite, especially in public.
