18 QUESTIONS TO ASK AND ANSWER IF YOU REALLY WANT TO IMPROVE!!!

What are my short term goals or wants?

Will I need money to get the resources that I want?

Have I saved up enough money to pay for new learning of useful skills and/or useful knowledge?

About how long will it take to get the resources which I will need?

When I have the resources about how long will it take to reach my goals?

Do I have any bad habits which will keep me from reaching my goals fast enough?

Do I understand that

ambition,

courage,

determination,

14 VALUABLE LEADERSHIP SKILLS OR CHARACTERISTICS!!!

leadership-skills-business-diagram-19080009

The essence of great leadership is an ability to set relevant goals, have excellent communication skills, and to be able to motivate or inspire workers to do their best with what they have. That being said here are 14 characteristics of a great leader:

They keep good communications going by encouraging workers to speak to them, asking questions, noting complaints, and creating a safe, secure, approachable atmosphere where workers are not afraid to speak up when they feel it is necessary.

They communicate expectations or set realistic challenges or goals for workers to follow and place the responsibility of performing the details on workers and make them accountable for their work.

They prioritize goals based on an estimate of their urgency, potential impact on profitability of the company if it is a business, and cost of personnel and resources needed to achieve the desired goals.

They estimate the approximate time it will take to achieve the goals and when  members of the staff will start on them.

They have an ongoing thirst for new relevant knowledge, do research, ask relevant questions, and seek counsel from others as needed.

They know how to confidently make relatively quick impulsive decisions based on years of experience and are seldom confronted with lengthy periods of doubt and uncertainty.

They evaluate or assess worker performance and give appropriate privileges and rewards or give credit where credit is due.

They are trustworthy and provide accurate, continuous, motivating, and supportive feedback to workers as they perform their tasks but don’t micro manage them.

They are good at assigning appropriately talented individuals to relevant tasks or know which workers will do a better job at given tasks and allocate and deploy accordingly.

They don’t procrastinate and are good at analyzing problems and assigning appropriate resources and personnel to solve them.

They are competent, energetic, likable, respected, and strong willed with an ability to motivate and inspire workers despite some inevitable failures along the way.

They openly share their knowledge and teach appropriately even mentoring some with leadership potential.

They network with leaders in similar positions and try to form relationships with humans who may not only be able to help them but also help some of their workers in the present and future.

They know that the strategic business plan should always be a satisfied repeat customer which is the only ultimate strategic consideration. The means to that end is making the company more competitive with more and better information, goods, or services and a more efficient organizational structure.

They genuinely enjoy their leadership responsibilities and the work that that entails.

8 PRINCIPLES OF SMART PARENTING!!!

sp-logo

BE GOOD ROLE MODELS AND SURROUND YOUR OFFSPRING WITH GOOD ADULT ROLE MODELS AND PROMOTE INTERACTION WITH GOOD ROLE MODEL FRIENDS:

Offspring primarily learn from what you and others do, not say, so try to surround your offspring with humans who are good and are doing good things. Try to keep the exposure to bad role models to a minimum and that includes bad role models in the media.

INTRODUCE OFFSPRING EARLY TO THE KNOWLEDGE AND TOOLS NEEDED IN SCHOOL AND THEIR ENVIRONMENT:

Schooling is of primary importance so start early teaching your preschool offspring the alphabet, words, numbers, and big pictures of wildlife or animals and plants, household objects, and vehicles.

Read them stories about real humans doing interesting things in their environment. Stories about animals and plants, vehicles, and household objects are ideal.

Provide them with crayons, paper, and coloring books followed by colored pencils and paper to do their doodles.

Keep computer interaction to a minimum until they reach school age since early on offspring should be learning about and from their physical environment rather than from a computer screen.

It is best if you can supervise or participate with your offspring doing these things together but a nanny or older offspring can also do this for you.

ENCOURAGE TACTILE INTERACTION WITH THE ENVIRONMENT:

Buy interactive toys such as dolls, animals, action figurines, cars, trucks, trains, building blocks or Legos, and balls.

Brain body coordination is very important in offspring development so expose your offspring to the environment and all the things in it as soon as possible.

SPEND SOME TIME INTERACTING WITH INDIVIDUAL OFFSPRING ALONE:

Each offspring craves individual attention and individual interaction will help you to bond and get to know your offspring’s uniqueness compared to other offspring which you may also have. Conversing with your offspring one on one will further his or her communication skills and knowledge. Ask your offspring many questions and get them into the habit of asking you questions too, especially if you feel there is not much to talk about.

ESTABLISH RULES AND SET LIMITS CREATING SELFCONTROL OVER OFFSPRING’S OWN RESPONSIBLE BEHAVIOR.

Teaching offspring to be selfcontrolled and responsible for their own behavior is important. Obeying rules gives them a sense of security and knowing how far they can go before a vital rule is broken.

Putting away toys before bedtime, personal hygiene, dressing oneself, putting plates and utensils in the dishwasher or sink after finishing eating, and teaching or learning to share with other offspring are vital rules on the way to more independent behavior.

Conflicts over rules can arise and you can assert your parental authority, give in if it is important to the offspring but not so much to you, compromise if both are happy with it, and problem solve where you discuss the situation and reach a consensus or a solution acceptable to both sides.

This is not common parenting procedure but if you can teach your offspring to SCHEDULE their own time by the clock each day such as time with friends, time with homework, time alone, time on the computer, learning something new time, time with a hobby, play time, etc. then they will learn to value their time in life and at work eventually and not be wasteful or inefficient with it.

MONITOR OR SUPERVISE OFFSPRING:

Make sure you know where they are, with whom they are, and what they are doing to make sure they are doing things safely and responsibly.

Promote your offspring’s responsible independence.

Don’t micromanage your offspring’s life during the school years because he or she must learn to ultimately behave independently and responsibly on their own and an overprotective attitude can harm this independence in the long duration.

DISCIPLINE:

If something is illegal, immoral, unhealthy, unsafe, offensive, too expensive, or not the right time, place, and social environment then I won’t let you do that is the right approach and you will be punished with withdrawal of a privilege temporarily and/or a severe scolding if a bad behavior is repeating too often.

Be consistent in your expectations and present a unified front as parents so that offspring do not try to play one parent against the other.

Mommy lets me do this so why don’t you? or Daddy lets me do this so why don’t you?

How to punish and the ideal way of punishing:

The quick way is to just say if you do that again then your punishment will be withdrawal of a privilege, or even a spanking for lying or stealing again for  very young offspring. Rarely a belt to the butt for a stealing teenager is necessary if taking away a cellphone or computer privileges does not work.

Ideally you identify the bad behavior, state why it is wrong, give alternative behaviors which are acceptable or may reach the same goals, a clear statement of what the punishment is going to be, and a statement of the expectation that it will not happen again. This approach is for smart educated parents.

Anger is inevitable but try to avoid insults, put downs, name calling, humiliation, and ridicule when it comes to disciplining your offspring.

Consistency in enforcing important rules is very desirable but realize that in the real world, except for immoral behavior, there are always one or two or more exceptions to your rules depending on the time, place, and social environment.

EXPLAIN YOUR RULES AND DECISIONS:

This is very hard to do because for most the reason for the rules and decisions was probably almost never explained by your parents either. So the explanation is that it is ILLEGAL, IMMORAL, UNHEALTHY,UNSAFE, OFFENSIVE, TOO EXPENSIVE, OR NOT THE RIGHT TIME, PLACE AND SOCIAL ENVIRONMENT.

Other possible explanations are that it takes too much parental time, energy, and money or that the offspring is wasting too much time, energy, and money doing something. You are living an inefficient life if you spend too much time, energy, and money on relatively unimportant things.

Another explanation may be that the family has priorities or important things to do or consider and what offspring are trying to do does not fit those important priorities and can basically be considered trivial shit.

A whole book can be written on what is offensive in public, what is offensive behavior to parents, to humans in general, and offensive to certain humans in particular. If an offspring offends either parent then it is probably bad behavior as long as the parent identifies it as being rude, unkind, cruel, mean, insulting, name calling, a put down, humiliation, ridicule, selfish or uncaring, lazy, bragging, messy, arrogant, irresponsible, disrespectful, etc.. Few parents can identify words and match them to behavior successfully so just saying it offends me or someone else should be enough of a reason in most cases when you can’t explain in detail.

One authority figure said a rule and decision must be reasonable, logical, and consistent but frankly there is no definition of reason and logical so this is just stupid intellectual advice or no advice at all.

The best advice is to try and talk about a rule or decision and get the offspring’s point of view. If it makes intuitive sense to the parent then there may be room for compromise or- rule or decision adjustment.

SUMMARY:

In the United States parenting is getting harder and not easier to do in an increasingly immoral and technologically changing society which challenges almost all the accepted rules of behavior or accepted norms, customs, and traditions of society.

Gambling, drugs, alcohol, promiscuity, pornography, deception, lying and irresponsible behavior tempts offspring at every turn and threatens to turn into severe handicapping addictions. Try to isolate very young offspring from these bad influences as long as possible.

If you are a flawed human with too many bad addictions yourself then consider not having any offspring at all who will just practice those same addictions when they grow up. If you are a dysfunctional human then you will be a dysfunctional parent so unless you can get your shit together don’t even think about having offspring before you straighten yourself out first.

10 EXCUSES WHICH KEEP YOU FROM CHANGING YOUR LIFE FOR THE BETTER!!!

Excuses-are-lies

Most humans basically don’t want to change their lives because change is difficult hard work and old habits are usually too pleasurable to want to change.

Traumatic, tragic, or disastrous events in your life will sometimes make you change whether you want to or not but if you are relatively content with your life and feel relatively secure there really is no great incentive for you to change your lifestyle or your daily habits.

Where there is a will there is usually a way to improve your life and making excuses for an absence of will just prolongs complacency almost indefinitely.

For those who don’t have the courage or desire to change excuses abound. Here are 15 excuses which keep you from changing your life for the better and 15 reasons not to handicap yourself by making them.

I DON’T HAVE THE TIME:

If you are working 16 hours a day, 7 days a week at two jobs trying to make ends meet then you really don’t have the time and should seriously consider a thriftier lifestyle. If you are only working 8 hours a day then you have at least 8 hours a day and possibly 32 hours on the weekend to devote to other matters. Having the desire and discipline to schedule those off work hours is the key to finding time for selfimprovement and you really do have the time!

I DON’T HAVE ENOUGH MONEY:

If you are destitute and unemployed then this is a real problem and not an excuse. Moving in with your parents or relatives temporarily may be a temporary option.

If you have a job and are making money then you have to learn to budget your money better by spending less on food, clothing, shelter, and transportation. Save on food by eating high calorie foods or feed yourself by mostly drinking milk, eating eggs, potatoes, pasta, and bread. Wear the same clothes every day and use deodorant. Share an apartment with many roommates, and drive a bicycle or a scooter.

Obviously if you need more money then landing a better paying job is a first priority and you should spend your free time getting qualified for the new job.

If you still don’t save any money after paying off your cell phone monthly expense then you need to work more and spend no money on entertainment and fun.

I’M TOO TIRED:

If you are too tired then you are not eating enough nutritious food, not getting enough sleep and exercise, and drinking too much soda and alcohol or you are physically working too fast and hard at a back breaking job and should learn to physically slow down. If you are living a healthy lifestyle then being too tired is not a valid excuse.

I LIVE IN TOO SMALL A TOWN OR CITY:

Save up some money, find a job in a bigger city, and move there if the opportunity you are hoping for is more abundant there.

MY PARENTS OR SPOUSE DON’T SUPPORT OR HELP ME:

If you are an adult it is time to learn to live independently of your parents and if your spouse doesn’t support your efforts then prove them wrong or get a divorce and try to make it on your own if you have enough personal desire, ambition, ability, and drive.

I HAVE OFFSPRING:

If your ambition and plans for the future are plausible and convincing enough then your spouse will probably gladly support and help you by caring for the offspring more so that you have more time to pursue your selfimprovement  goals.

I DON’T HAVE EXPERIENCE:

All experienced humans started without experience. They acquired new useful knowledge and skills in or out of school to become qualified at least on paper. If you don’t land the job of your dreams right away then you can always start at the bottom of the ladder in an entry level job or in an apprenticeship program.

I DON’T HAVE THE LOOKS:

Plastic surgery can do wonders unless you are dreaming about becoming a star or celebrity which unfortunately often requires a very good memory and considerable talent which you may not have in abundance.

I’M OVERWEIGHT:

About 40% of the American population is overweight and if the profession really requires average weight then consider going on a nutritious starvation diet under medical supervision at first.

I DON’T HAVE ANY DEGREES OR NOT THE RIGHT ONES:

Go back to school or selfeducate yourself on the internet and get the necessary degrees or comparable degrees.

***Not having a good enough memory and not enough inborn talent physically and/or mentally for a job or profession are the only valid excuses which should prevent you from starting on an inevitably frustrating course of lifetime failure and disappointment if you are foolishly unrealistic in your ultimate lifetime goals.

THE TRUTH ABOUT GRADUATE*

graduate

Graduate: v. to certify adequate knowledge and/or skills to achieve a goal(s)

When you graduate someone then you certify that they have adequate knowledge and/or skills to do something which is often a job, the next school grade, or higher rank in an organization.

Graduation certificates can be forged and a graduating human may have actually cheated to get the graduating certificate so real proof of adequate knowledge and/or skills usually occurs on the job when a human is asked to perform to the best of his or her ability.

Nepotism appointments are sometimes unjust because the appointments or jobs were given on the basis of who you know more than on merit or on what you know and can do.

Many liberal arts graduates not being able to find jobs is symptomatic of the technological revolution which is replacing human jobs and making many graduation certificates rather useless.

It also turns out that book learning and certification is also not always a good indication of job performance which demands punctuality, dependability, competence, a work ethic, and certain basic social skills which book learning alone can’t provide. Experienced job applicants are often preferred over fresh graduates with seemingly impressive degrees but no work experience.

THE TRUTH ABOUT CHILD LABOR+

india_child_labor

Historically and even now young children and teenagers work on farms and do hard labor. Today teenagers no longer work in most families and the result is that few know how to work or even want to work for a living. It is time to start employing teenagers in the workplace where they can not only get job experience but where they can learn about the work ethic.

Most schools no longer teach students useful work skills and it is high time to update child labor laws and make it possible for teenagers to work about 4 hours a day as cashiers, factory assembly line workers, urban farming, stock humans, deli workers, custodians, etc.

Yes, teenagers will compete with young adults in the work place but it will be a wake up call to those adults to get a good education or go back to school and get reeducated or spend the rest of their lives on welfare.

School hours can be shorted by at least 4 hours since education in most schools is very inefficient with many useless subjects are being taught. Specialty vans, bicycles, and scooters can be used to get students to and from work with the parent’s permission. The teenagers would start out at less than minimum wage unless they became so good that they deserved to get minimum wage for their efforts.

Skill: n. an ability(s) gotten by learning with systematic and/or frequently repetitive behavior(s)

Eating with a spoon, playing the guitar, talking, or being a politician are all skills learned systematically and usually with much repetition. Broadly speaking there are physical or motor skills and mental skills and then a combination of both.  How quickly we memorize these motor or mental skills frequently determines how skilled we are and the better we remember them the more skilled we get.

In school how good we are in a subject is frequently determined by the grade which we get and if we are good at memorizing mentally then we frequently excel in school.

If you are not gifted or talented then sometimes much repetition will compensate for your weakness but there are many skills such as mathematical ability where no matter how hard you try you will just not be able to learn and understand the complexities involved and have to choose other skill sets which you are good at.

In the 21st century technological skills are becoming much more important than liberal arts skills. The new generation will have to be taught accordingly or they will continue to graduate in job poor fields which are outdated and will be relatively useless in the society of the future.

Learning complex skills will be rewarded in the future and unfortunately if you are just an average learner then you may find yourself permanently on the unemployment line replaced by robots or computer software which will be smarter than you. You may become permanently unemployed unless you content yourself with working for minimum wage for the rest of your life.

Hair dressers, massage therapists, some building trades, handymen, auto mechanics, teachers, and landscapers will not be replaced by robots that quickly but there will be a glut of workers in those fields and the pay will usually be very poor.

18 IMPORTANT 21ST CENTURY EDUCATION GOALS!!!

logo

I came across his is an informative, interesting, and relevant list of important education goals or universal skills for the 21st century. Share this knowledge with your offspring who frequently don’t understand what the purpose of education should be. Education must be improved to fit the reality of useful jobs in the rapidly changing technological world.

I would only add that basic science information or subjects should have a prominent role in educating the learners of tomorrow along with calculator math solving real life problems like budgeting income and calculating money percentages. Teaching the meaning of statistics and probability would also be very useful to combat the illiteracy of a yes or no, always or never language bias or mentality. The useful logic of frequency or the use of rarely, not often, sometimes, most of the time, and x percent of the time should be learned.

THE TRUTH ABOUT SELFDISCIPLINE***

self-discipline

Selfdiscipline: n. using with selfcontrol the knowledge and/or skills necessary to achieve a goal(s)

Selfdiscipline and selfcontrol are really one and the same concept but I have defined selfdiscipline with an emphasis upon goal achievement which is really the reason that control is necessary in our lives and something which we all are involved in doing during our lives.

I am not emphasizing motivation or the control over desires and emotions which is ultimately of the most importance in achieving goals but emphasizing the importance of knowledge and skills as a prerequisite to successful achievement of goals once you have been motivated to do so.

THE TRUTH ABOUT PRACTICE***

happy-new-year-001

Practice: v. to repeat a behavior(s) and/or skill(s) and/or knowledge and/or experience to get competency and/or expertise

You have probably heard the phrase that “practice makes perfect” and it is frequently true that with enough repetition you can learn most skills and knowledge necessary for existence. The reality is that “practice frequently makes better” but not perfect since consistent perfection is not possible by any human but only robots.

What most don’t realize is that because of repetition or practice we also have developed good and bad habits which are not easy to change because they have become largely impulsive behaviors or the things which we frequently do and don’t do.

Habits are the result of what we have practiced in the past and if you don’t like some of your habits then you can blame the past. Then make a conscious decision to do something about it or you will have to blame yourself for inaction or not trying to improve upon the past.

Some are born with exceptional physical and/or mental ability and don’t need to practice that much to learn a new skill or knowledge. It is frustrating for many average humans to have to compete with humans that have inborn talent and it seems that no matter how much we repeat or practice something we are never really good enough to become outstanding performers in a consistent way.

It is a smart human who realizes that there is a limit to how much you can practice trying to achieve the impossible. If you have to practice four times as much as the average human to reach a goal(s) then it is time to ask yourself-Is it worth the extra time that I am putting in to achieve something which takes others almost no time at all?

Most of us are born with some natural ability in something and it is a smart human who works on improving their strengths and doesn’t work so hard on trying to improve their weaknesses. Practice and improve what you are good at and don’t practice something which you are not good at that much.

Two valuable questions to ask are-What should I practice? and Why should I practice? If you are practicing without a goal(s) in mind then your should definitely reassess the situation.

THE TRUTH ABOUT DIFFICULTY***

Warcraft-3-Difficulty-Selection

Difficulty: n. gomplex and/or sodiffen and/or modiffen and/or mudiffen and/or newdiffen and/or handiffen and/or tidiffen and frequently challenging

Gomplex: n. achieving a complex subset(s)

Handiffen: n. achieving with a handicap(s)

Modiffen: n. achieving more of a subset(s)

Mudiffen: n. achieving with relatively much strength

Newdiffen: n. achieving a new subset(s)

Sodiffen: n. achieving with relatively much skill

Tidiffen: n. achieving with small time to complete

There are seven basic reasons why achieving a goal(s) may be difficult and it may be more than one or as many as all seven.

The goal(s) may be very complex, may take relatively much strength, may take relatively much skill, may be something new, you may be handicapped, there is very little time to complete, and the difficulty may be that there is so much of it to do.

Some things in life are more difficult than others. Some see difficulty as a challenge and courageously try to master it while others see difficulty as an unnecessary hardship in life and tend to avoid it as much as possible. Avoiding too much difficulty can lead to a rather boring lifestyle but humans who are not used to much difficulty don’t frequently look for it and live life without much of it.

Getting excellent grades in school is difficult and those who don’t wind up in jobs which are not very difficult. The most difficult time humans have is frequently with loving or caring relationships with other humans. In an age of rampant promiscuity close trusting and faithful relationships are difficult to find and if found are sometimes difficult to maintain for a long duration.

THE TRUTH ABOUT LEARNING

dreamstime_xl_27338322

Learn: v. to acquire (knowledge and/or skills) and/or (behaviors and/or experiences)

Learning can actually be enjoyable for those with very good memories and some talent for the physical and/or mental skills necessary to perform school tasks successfully.

Unfortunately most of us have average memories and little if any talent and don’t put in the extra time and effort to learn what we think is important or what really interests us. We trust what others teach us to learn which is what they say is important but quite a large quantity of it is not important and rather useless information.

Most common education is not very useful and is taught in a mediocre uninspiring way so for many learning is a boring seemingly purposeless activity. Liberal arts is going to be increasingly job poor in the 21st technological century and the huge quantity of largely useless liberal arts education should be greatly decreased.

The most effective learning is experience learning where you actively participate in an audio visual way and retain about 70% of the information after two week’s time. This is why individualized interactive audio visual computer education is an improvement over passive classroom learning where you seldom aurally interact with the subject matter and the instruction is not adjusted to your individual learning speed and background of knowledge.

Learning in an explorative active style is the best form of learning with hands on physical objects found in the environment. My recommendation is to have mini science labs in elementary school where students learn the basics of Archimedes principle for floating objects by building little boats of all shapes and sizes out of aluminum foil and putting in objects and/or liquids which make the boats sink or swim.

Exposing young impressionable minds to levers, pulleys, incline planes, pipes, thermometers, magnets, geometrical shapes, scales, springs, weights, tape measures, plastic tools, microscopes, electric motors, calculators, laptops, and safe chemical reactions would also be a good idea to create an interest in the real physical world around them and introduce them to the concept of quantifying objects numerically and not just drawing them or talking about them.

Many graduating adults can’t even budget their money and this can be taught with a calculator in elementary school so the students can teach their parents to be financially responsible.

Artwork such as drawing and painting just exposes young minds to crayon, pencil, colors, and paint with little utilitarian value and most wind up just wasting time randomly creating lines and shapes and colors with minimal precision.

The age of irrational, mindless, verbose, trivial, non utilitarian education should rapidly come to an end if future humanity is to improve and not repeat historical mistakes as much.

5 IMPORTANT THINGS TO IMPROVE IN YOUR LIFE!!!!!

improvement

Improve yourself by learning new useful skills and knowledge, learning from smart humans, and learning as many useful truths or facts as you can.

Improve your relationships with others by selecting honest, sincere, dependable, trustworthy, and competent humans to be your friends and role models.

Improve your job or career by getting better at it or planning to switch to a better one.

Improve your attitude by considering each failure a learning experience, considering and savoring each success no matter how small as just one in a series of lifelong successes, and nurturing selfmotivation and selfcontrol with ongoing optimism on a daily basis if possible.

If married then improve your marriage by listening carefully, mutually caring what each other is thinking and doing, trying to avoid arguments and angry confrontations with calm discussions instead, and trying to raise educated, independent, socially competent offspring.

If you improve any or all of the above five things then you will be a winner in the game of life more than once and have more successes and happiness than most.

THE TRUTH ABOUT COMPETENCE

competence1

Competence: n. having the skills and/or knowledge and/or experience and/or attitude to do something within a known normative standard

Nothing is more frustrating and disappointing than incompetent service, incompetent professionals, incompetent car mechanics, and worse of all, an incompetent boss. Competence takes years of learning knowledge, learning necessary skills, having adequate on the job experience, and having the right attitude.

Frequently you get the most competent service from someone who has a good dependable reputation and is trustworthy and has given good service to other humans who respect and maybe even admire them. Word of mouth is sometimes useful in helping you to decide on the competence of a human but ultimately your appraisal of the service rendered to you is the most important.

Many competent humans have good social skills also and know how to interact with humans emotionally. They know their customers or workers and make an effort to please them in a genuine friendly way. They have the right attitude towards all types of humans both good and bad and can frequently differentiate between the two and act accordingly.

Introverts may not seem as social and emotional as extroverts but they are frequently very effective on the job and many are competent communicators about their job. They may be a little reserved in their interaction with random humans who don’t seem to have much relevance in their lives.

There is no such thing as a competent company but it can be a company with a good trustworthy reputation which has competent workers to service their customers.

Depending on the job a boss can be more authoritarian or more of a team player and the competence needs in each category are a unique set of skills and knowledge which are frequently not interchangeable.

Competent parents and competent relationships are decreasing due to a decrease in morality taught to impressionable young minds, due to a great hardship in landing and maintaining a good job, due to profligate spending and large credit card debt, due to bad celebrity role models, and due to the general promiscuous nature of western society. Secure families are imploding and more and more humans are having dysfunctional relationships with each other and with the opposite sex.

Competence in personal relationships and competence in a job can result in a relatively happy life with most of the basic human needs being satisfied.

THE TRUTH ABOUT ABILITY

download (2)

Ability:  n. having a subset(s) to achieve a goal(s) whether or not one has a legal right to achieve samer goal(s)

You are born with some physical abilities and you can acquire abilities during your lifetime in the form of knowledge and/or skills. Not so obvious is being given legal rights so that you have the ability to control other humans and their actions.

When you say that you can’t do something then you don’t have the ability to do the task or you may not have a legal right to do the task. Most of the important abilities are acquired through learning knowledge and skills in life and this learning increases the number of things which you can do in life.

Having the right useful abilities determines whether you will reach the goals both small and large which you try to achieve in your life. If you are having difficulty achieving your goals then you may not have the right abilities to do so so you should try to improve or acquire them.

It doesn’t take us long to realize that our looks, social skills, and learning potential is different from others and that abilities can vary greatly in small groups and larger ones. We may discover that we are the preferred offspring in a family but in a school environment there are others with more ability than us and get more preferential treatment.

Life is a constant struggle of trying to increase our abilities with the help of role models who already have developed those abilities or are in the process of developing a certain ability subset.

If you have to be born with a certain ability such as excellent memory to achieve your goals then unfortunately you will never achieve them if you are handicapped memory wise. The wise human learns to work and perform within his or her limitations but tries to optimize results within those limitations.

Ability is having something needed to achieve a goal(s). If you can’t get what you need and you can’t achieve your goal(s) then choose another goal(s).

THE TRUTH ABOUT KNOWLEDGE

applied-knowledge

Knowledge: n. having mentally stored retrievable collection of (facts and/or theories) and/or (fictions and/or skills) and/or behaviors gotten by (perception and/or experience) and/or (memorization and/or reasoning) and/or (reading and/or a subset(s)) whether or not the correspondences of these (facts and/or theories) and/or (fictions and/or skills) and/or behaviors has been made and meanmaked

Meanmake: v. to communicate relatively accurately making a personal subjective and/or objective correspondence(s)

Knowledge is basically memorizing things or subsets such as information, data, skills, and experiences. Knowledge then is used to try and achieve goals in life. There is a saying that knowledge is power or the ability to do things. There are many humans doing things without much knowledge and they are severely handicapped because they frequently can’t reach the goals which they hope to achieve.

Education is the process of gaining knowledge and those with very little useful education are frequently the humans who have the most difficult time with living life in a technologically advanced world.

WHAT you know is frequently more important than HOW MUCH you know and many humans with liberal arts education are finding out that they know much about things which aren’t really very useful in life, especially when it comes to landing a good paying job. Quality knowledge is much more important than quantity knowledge.

Acquiring random knowledge may be fun to do but the key to success these days is learning specialized knowledge in a field which is in demand. Yes, there is knowledge about hobbies, pastimes, and trivia which you may learn in life just for the fun of it but it will frequently not be very useful in a professional career.

Book learning or knowledge will help you to make smart decisions but what you need to also know is human knowledge or how humans behave with a heavy emotional bias. Human skills or knowledge about human behavior can unfortunately mostly be learned with exposure to humans and interacting with them.

Only book knowledge about human behavior will not always be useful in everyday interactions with humans. Leaders need emotional skills to lead  or motivate humans successfully and those with only book knowledge frequently do a bad job of leading humans. Real world experiences with humans will teach you how humans really behave and it is detailed knowledge which you will seldom find in a book.

Coming from a family with many offspring or being very social in and out of school is the best training ground for emotional intelligence or knowledge about how to interact successfully with emotional humans.

Information: n. using data which can be communicated and which is frequently meaningful

Data: n. a collection of a subset(s) from which useful judgments may or may not be made

THE TRUTH ABOUT POVERTY

poverty_increasing_in_america

The only way out of financial poverty is to learn useful mental and physical skills to land a job, learning to budget your money, and then learning more useful mental and physical skills which will land you a better paying job.

Financial poverty is a trap from which it is hard to escape and the ones which do so successfully are the ones who don’t have poverty of the mind. A poor mind with few skills and little useful knowledge is the real trap that almost no one escapes without a good useful education or self-motivated useful learning. Being or staying mentally handicapped is a guaranteed recipe for being or staying in financial poverty.

Usefully educating your mind even if it is late in life is the only realistic way out of financial poverty at any age. If your mind does not absorb useful education readily or can’t discriminate between what is useful information and what is not so useful then your fate is to probably continue in financial and mental poverty.

Even with a bad memory you can spend much time, energy, effort, and money trying to change your poor mental and skill circumstances. Some just have to work harder and longer mentally to get to the same point as others with good memories.

Yes many celebrity jobs require inborn talent but a hard worker and trained thinker can make it pretty far up the ladder of financial success with enough personal mental and physical effort.

Poverty: n. inadequate money for middle class living standards. Extreme poverty is having no money and/or money only for a minimum quantity of food which is inadequate to maintain life.

CONCLUSION:

Getting the right kind of useful education and skills early or late in life is the only hope of making it out of financial poverty at any age.

Unfortunately technology is speedily raising the standards of mental and skills education and more and more will be stuck in mental and skill poverty in a job poor environment. In the future there will be many more liberal arts majors who will be more likely to live financially impoverished lives than historically speaking.

16 TRUTHS ABOUT EDUCATION OR KNOWLEDGE

5-startups-transforming-online-education-4483e6d74d

There are two educations. One should teach us how to make a living and the other how to live.

The sad fact is that public schools are neither teaching us how to make a good living nor are they teaching us how to live a morally successful life. If you apply moral relationship principles on and off a job then you should have optimal success in life.

There are six honest serving men and women. They can teach you all that you need to know. Their names are-Who, What, Where, When, Why, and How.

If you want to educate yourself on any subject imaginable, find answers to these questions and you will be able to discover and learn the useful knowledge yourself.

A man or woman can learn only two ways, one by reading, and the other by association with smarter humans.

Of course you can also learn by trial and error but this is a very stupid and inefficient way to learn. If you try to associate with smart humans then you will learn much useful information from them.

Practice does not always make perfect.

Practice frequently makes an acceptable performance which is not necessarily perfect. It is frequently a fact that much practicing of a skill must occur before mastery is achieved. This applies to game skills, job skills, and knowledge skills.

Perfection is the domain of robots who can repeat something perfectly every time.  People may try to be perfectionists but very many are not perfect and make many mistakes along the way. Practice does not always make perfect.

Repetition is the best way to learn

This of course is not true if you almost have a photographic memory.

Everyone makes mistakes.

This is true all the time since humans are imperfect creatures and not robots.  What makes for a difference between something good and bad is how many mistakes are made in doing something.  The more mistakes that you make, the worse is your performance at some task.

If you don’t control your mind, someone else will.

This is true in most cases. If you don’t have strong personal beliefs or personal ways of looking at and thinking about events, opinions, facts, and people, you will meet plenty of people who are trying to impose their beliefs and propaganda on you.  Businesses through advertising are always thinking up ways of getting you to buy their product or service. Media commentators and writers would like nothing better than to convince you that their viewpoints are the correct ones to have. Almost everyone would like you to believe what they believe in.

A little general knowledge can go a long way

A little knowledge, especially if it is a true general principle, can be applied over and over again in many areas of life. Be friendly towards people and it will increase the likelihood that they will be friendly towards you.  This is a little knowledge that can go a long way towards improving your relationships with other people throughout a lifetime. Treat others the way that you would wish to be treated is also a little knowledge that is useful throughout a lifetime.

Abstraction is a type of decadence

To the extent that abstraction departs from reality and nature, that is the extent to which it can be considered to be decadent. Nowhere is this more evident than in abstract painting where all natural beauty and reason is absent and all that is left is a gross mutant product or creativity running into a dead end.

Even the best writer has to erase

This just means that even perfectionists make some mistakes.

Experience is the best teacher.

Doing something yourself or physically is frequently a better teacher than learning how to do it in your head. The truth is that the mind and body have to be coordinated to get the best learning results. Learning only through experience can sometimes be a long and arduous process since there might be too much trial and error learning going on. Experience learning can frequently be speeded up and improved with some book or internet learning too.

A little learning can be a dangerous thing.

It is dangerous only if you assume that by acquiring a little knowledge about something you automatically assume that you know all there is about that something. Knowing how to use the accelerator and brakes does not automatically mean that you are a good driver and if you assume that you are, it can be very dangerous.

Elaboration is a form of pollution

Elaboration is an embellishment of the facts which frequently results in rather boring and time consuming rhetoric which can indeed be considered a form of pollution which wastes time, energy, and sometimes money.

Knowledge is power if it has purpose.

Knowledge in the right fields can be powerful and land you a good job. Knowledge in fields such as the arts, philosophy, history and the humanities may leave you with bad job skills that are useful almost nowhere and this can’t be considered to be powerful knowledge.

Knowing yourself lets you understand others to some extent.

This is true because knowing your strengths and weaknesses will help you to identify those same strengths and weaknesses in others. It will not be a complete understanding of others but at least it is a start.

Some knowledge should be advanced at all costs

Scientific knowledge should be advanced at all costs but liberal arts education is so subjective and peppered with so much false and very subjective opinions that most of it is not worth advancing.  Liberal arts education should be promoted by private institutions of learning and not the government. Secular morality should be advanced at all costs and in a nutshell that means in non-emergency situations don’t destroy biodiversity, don’t lie, don’t be inefficient, don’t steal, don’t commit adultery if married, and don’t murder.
