THE TRUTH ABOUT ECCENTRIC*

Eccentric_Logo

Eccentric: adj. a human deviating greatly from some social norms but not judged to be mentally ill and/or a serious threat to society

Eccentrics are interesting humans who don’t fit into all the accepted social norms yet still manage to survive successfully in their own personal lifestyles. Eccentricity can be a drawback if you are in a leadership position where normal behavior is expected and respected.

For one with a steady job and rather minimal social interaction eccentricity is a welcome change from the mundane boring existence of most humans who follow the normative crowd. Sometimes eccentrics are revolutionary figures blazing new trails for acceptable human behavior and others remain social misfits who live out their independent lives without making any significant impact on society in the long duration.

THE TRUTH ABOUT OBEDIENCE+

obedience

Obedience: n. accepting and doing a command(s) which is frequently a (law(s) and/or rule(s)) and/or social norm(s)

As parents we expect a certain amount of obedience from our offspring. Some even want obedience from their pets and sometimes train them or bring them to obedience schools.

In the adult world we obey rules, laws, and social norms all designed to give society a certain amount of predictability.

Teenagers frequently rebel against parental and social norms and try to disobey them with usually bad consequences. There is nothing new in human nature and once we learn more and more about it we then become more tolerant of human deviance or at least learn to live with it if it deviates in a moral way and is not an expression of immorality.

With government laws being so numerous and more being added on yearly there will always be humans disobeying them to some extent since they are unjust in many special circumstances and not worthy of obedience.

THE TRUTH ABOUT UNJUST*

41

Unjust: adj. not being a standard of moral rightness and/or social rightness and/or lawfulness without reference to one’s own personal choice which may be different

An unjust law you suffer from personally because they are made for special interests with money power and if you are an average person then they handicap you in certain ways businesswise or impose personal hardship.

Not everyone is equal with equal rights and laws which particularly injure or hurt the handicapped abound.

If someone is being immoral then they are acting unjustly and if someone is not conforming to social norms then humans can suffer injustice for their deviant but not dangerous points of view and/or behavior(s).

Unjust taxation is the greatest enemy of the middle class with many legal exemptions for the poor and the very rich.

Unfair is frequently the term used when someone supposedly has more wealth than you and does not take into consideration the fact that they frequently have worked hard for the money and perhaps even taken considerable risks financially.

It is not unfair that some are wealthier than others but it is unjust that the unemployed and also destitute are not afforded FREE TECHNOLOGICAL AND SCIENCE EDUCATION OVER THE INTERNET so that they can learn out of their poverty with personal effort, ability, and achievement AT ANY AGE. This particularly should apply to young unemployed adults who need to be reeducated for the largely technological job market in the 21st century.

THE TRUTH ABOUT NONCONFORMITY+

Nonconformity_by_the_chosen_pessimist

Nonconformity: n. deviating in (appearance and/or behavior) and/or lifestyle relative to a group of humans with normative standards

Coloring your hair purple or pink if it is not Halloween is a sign of nonconformity. Piercing your lips or nose with a ring is also a sign of nonconformity although it is perfectly acceptable among some social groups of humans. Laughing at a cripple or cruelty is nonconformist behavior.

Ultimately nonconformity is relative to the norms of a group and if your group is small enough then you may be conforming to the norms of the small group but not conforming to the norms of a larger group or society in general.

There are nonconformist looks, behaviors, and lifestyles. Cults are frequently considered nonconformist lifestyles.

Weird, strange, bizarre, shocking, unusual, or uncommon is frequently used to describe nonconformist behavior.

THE TRUTH ABOUT APPROPRIATENESS+

9-credit-1-660x660

Appropriateness: n. adding and/or subtracting a subset(s) necessary for a different subset(s) and being normative and acceptable for the circumstances

Appropriate private behavior is sometimes not appropriate in public and social norms are frequently challenged by the younger generation bringing their private lives and behaviors into the public eye. To be appropriate in public we frequently have to modify a behavior to make it acceptable by adding and/or subtracting something which we say or do.

Creative humans also have to keep some of their creative efforts private because they are sometimes inappropriate for display in public. Social norms and acceptable standards frequently determine the appropriateness of a behavior, information, product, and service.

The punishment for deviating from social norms and accepted standards is frequently rejection, failure, ridicule, laughter, criticism, condemnation, condescension, name calling, insults, disrespect, ostracism, and humiliation.

Have radical views and start publishing them on the internet and there is a high probability that you will be censored in some way.

THE TRUTH ABOUT OBEDIENCE***

Every-obedience-class-has-a-clown-D-puppies-15137909-500-333

Obedience: n. accepting and doing a command(s) which is frequently a (law(s) and/or rule(s)) and/or social norm(s)

Obedience to laws, rules, and social norms is what keeps society functioning in a relatively predictable way. If citizens obey a common morality then a non tyrannical peaceful just society is possible.

Too much obedience to a corrupt society is not advisable but habits are hard to exclude from your life and sometimes if you are not morally outraged then chances are that you will follow blindly and not be aware that much of your oppression.

Advertising is a form of brainwashing which leads to obedient purchasing of information, products, or services advertised and is a primary reason for predictable purchases made by customers. Obedient consumers are a company dream and many pay big money trying to achieve such a position in human lives.

When there is true choice in the marketplace then unsatisfied customers will go elsewhere or purchase superior information, goods, and services. Monopoly businesses have the power to force you to obediently buy something which need not be improved and you become an obedient slave purchasing what you need but may actually not want.

If you are commanded to do something and you do it then you are obeying. You may obey out of fear or a sense of duty so there is involuntary obedience and voluntary obedience. Many obey a command, rule, or law out of fear of punishment even though we may disagree with the command, rule, or law.

We frequently tell the truth because we are afraid of social ostracism since very few humans go to jail or get fined for everyday lying incidents. Most humans obey conventional social norms because we basically want to be liked by others and breaking social rules of behavior makes us less likable.

THE TRUTH ABOUT DISOBEDIENCE***

620disobedience_collectiv

Disobedience: n. intentionally not accepting and not doing a command(s) which frequently is a (law(s) and/or rule(s)) and/or social norm(s)

Laws, rules, and social norms are really commands by society to behave a certain way within behavioral limits. If you intentionally don’t do these commands or don’t accept them then you are being disobedient and intentionally so.

There is offspring disobedience which is a learning process and parents try to correct this disobedience with their own tactics which vary largely depending on whether the offspring rearing is largely authoritarian or more democratic and consensus based.

Adult disobedience results in official punishment if caught and social ostracism or a ruined reputation for going too radically against social norms. Disobeying standard operating procedure or organizational rules can get you fired or released from important duties or responsibilities.

Dysfunctional family life with bad role model friends and mediocre teachers handicap many with dysfunctional relationships. Good relationships require obedience to good relationship etiquette which bad role models never teach.

Without a strong moral family experience and obedience to it offspring grow into adults with the same parental handicaps and frequently add to them with addictive bad behaviors which they learn from other dysfunctional friends.

Teenagers and young adults will even rebel against good family ethics but sooner or later discover that they have a good foundation to go back to in times of trouble and chaos.

Disobedience to old beliefs and laws results in some progress in society but disobedience to basic moral laws is what causes society to gradually self destruct. It is the wise human who realizes that not lying, not stealing, not being adulterous, and not murdering is something which each generation must learn and reaffirm over and over again.

THE TRUTH ABOUT TRANSGRESSION***

183031871_640

Transgression: n. disobeying what is frequently a social norm(s) and/or morality

Disobeying the law, stealing, adultery, and murder are obvious transgressions. If you lie, cheat on a test, abuse a spouse, spread untrue rumors, make promises which you don’t intend to fulfill, and deceive humans then these are also transgressions which will usually ruin your reputation in the long duration or hurt other humans for which you may not be immediately punished.

A seeming transgression may be unintentional such as making a mistake or an accident which injures someone and this can sometimes be forgiven unconditionally.

A hateful confrontational argument may not seem like a serious transgression to some but in married life or close friendships it can have ruinous consequences if they are too frequent and the relationship may even end because of too much arguing.
