30 WAYS TO REDUCE STRESS IN YOUR LIFE!!!

stress-reduction

If you have a stressful job then you are limited in the ways that you can reduce the bad stress unless you find a better one.

9 WAYS TO RELIEVE STRESS ON THE JOB–

Celebrate small successes with tasty food and/or drink with a minimum of sugar.

Stop thinking about past mistakes or failures as being overly important because they will probably be unimportant a month or year from now.

Do many similar small tasks all at once.

Divide a large task into smaller steps.

Be more selective in your information intake so you don’t drown in it.

Take 5 or 10 minute breaks during work and do non work related things.

Don’t procrastinate at a task because you will be stressed when you start running out of time.

Don’t work evenings and weekends except in emergencies.

Find or selfeducate yourself for a less stressful job.

21 WAYS TO REDUCE STRESS AT HOME AND AWAY FROM WORK:

Almost everywhere else the key to reducing stress is to take time out and do things which are not that stressful or they are things which you enjoy or could enjoy doing.

Here is a relatively comprehensive list of minimally stressful activities which you can start doing to considerably reduce the overall stress in your life:

Read an informative article, newspaper, blog, or book.

Look at soothing internet pictures of inspiring wildlife, landscapes, flowers, trees, etc.

Go to a comic cartoon website like gocomics.com and look at funny or inspiring cartoons which you prefer.

Surf the internet.

Write about something which doesn’t cause anxiety such as happy moments, a topic which interests you and can be researched, or even start a personal blog devoted to stuff which you really like.

Get involved in a hobby or hobbies that interest you.

Listen to your favorite music.

Watch movies that you like.

Meditate, breathe deeply, and think about something other than work.

Exercise.

Take a walk preferably outdoors.

Take a shower or bath.

Get a massage.

Get plenty of sleep.

Eat or drink something tasty without much sugar.

Email someone.

Have sex.

Stop arguing over politics, sports, religion, or beliefs which you can’t change.

Call a friend for a chat.

Volunteer and join a club or organization if you find the time.

Spend some time chatting or doing something with your offspring if you have any.

CONCLUSION:

The key to reducing stress is really just to find humans and activities which are not too stressful or cause you too much of the wrong kind of anxiety. If you can’t find humans who don’t cause you bad anxiety then learn to reduce stress on your own by doing many pleasurable things that make you personally happy and don’t lead to financial hardship.

Good friends are nice to have but bad ones with many personal problems or severe addictions should be avoided like a contagious disease. It is better to go it alone than to get mired in stressful relationships with dysfunctional humans.

THE TRUTH ABOUT COMPOSURE+

composure-77029344

Composure: n. being relatively calm under any intensity of stress

Being calm under ordinary stress is not that hard to do for most humans. It is when the stress is very intense that maintaining composure is difficult for most humans to do.

Composure under stressful fire in wartime is very difficult and needs much discipline. In working conditions mostly seasoned pros can maintain their composure under stressful almost crises situations on the job.

Few have the ability to be relatively calm under stressful circumstances but if you are one of those humans then you can be said to have composure.

THE TRUTH ABOUT UNCOMFORTABLE*

1102406823-joetta-rinehart-quote-yes-it-is-just-a-very-uncomfortable-feeling

Uncomfortable: adj. sensing very mild pain and/or anxiety and/or stress

If you sense very mild pain and are anxious then you are uncomfortable. If you experience very mild anxiety and stress then you are uncomfortable. You can also have all three- very mild pain and anxiety and stress then you are uncomfortable. If you just have very mild pain or anxiety or stress then you are uncomfortable.

As you can see there are many ways of being uncomfortable and you usually have to ask humans which uncomfortable feelings they are having to pinpoint it with greater accuracy and avoid confusion and/or misunderstandings. Why are you uncomfortable? or What are you uncomfortable about?

MANY SOURCES OF BAD STRESS AND WHAT TO DO ABOUT THEM!!!

stress011

Stress is life putting demands or pressure on you and it is very natural so we are really talking here about things or sources which can put excessive and undesirable levels of stress on your mind. If the intensity, duration, and frequency of the stress is too great then it can become a potential health problem and learning to reduce the stress may become vital in your life.

There is good stress, bad stress, in between stress, and no stress. The major theme of this article is becoming aware of the sources of bad stress and reducing the bad sources of stress to a tolerable minimum.

You may be the major source of bad stress, the bad humans around you may stress you out, and your bad job or overwhelming responsibilities may be the primary reason for your high levels of bad stress. With personal selfdiscipline and realizing that a stressful feeling originates in YOUR brain you can learn to minimize it’s emotional impact with the right behavior or the right reactions to events in your life.

If incompetent flawed human personalities are the major source of your stress and you can’t fire them or ask them to leave then unfortunately you will have to leave yourself or find ways to ignore them as much as possible if you are forced to live with them. Find a better job, divorce or find another significant other, or leave an organization if the humans there are too unbearably stressful. Unhappy relationships can be very stressful so try to find or replace the unhappy relationships with happy ones.

If your job or life responsibilities are the major cause of stress then there are many books with suggestions on how to reduce job stress and how to reduce the responsibilities which you have assumed in life. Premature job burnout is frequently the result of overly high stress which is not addressed properly.

It is easy to blame other humans and other things such as a bad job or not enough money for the excessive stress in your life. The truth is that often it is your reaction to the stressful things in your life which can reduce the stress or even eliminate some of it if you take the right steps and deal with the stressful humans and things in your life the right way.

6 MAJOR REASONS WHY YOU MAY BE THE MAJOR SOURCE OF HIGH  BAD STRESS.

You may be demanding perfection from yourself and others in an imperfect world which is an admirable general goal. But if you worry too much, are too critical, or are plagued with fear when imperfection happens and can’t get over it quickly and move on then you are stressing yourself needlessly.

You are generally disorganized, unpredictable in your behavior, and don’t schedule your time very well. If you have not learned how to create order out of potential chaos by scheduling your time well, by being more predictable, and by functioning in an orderly environment where you have learned to set priorities and pay more attention to the important ones first then chances are that you will be paying for it with unnecessary levels of high stress.

You have taken on more responsibility than you can handle or you are relatively incompetent and trying to do things outside your realm of competence. If you don’t decrease the responsibilities, especially the things which you are not that good at and make many mistakes, then your stress level will remain rather high and you are mostly to blame for the high stress level. Responsibility generally comes with competence so learn the knowledge and skills necessary to become more competent and you will then be able to assume more responsibility with less stress.

You may be a flawed immoral personality which others find offensive or not worthy of trust and respect and they will treat you much like an enemy or pariah. If you lie to humans directly or indirectly through others then no one will trust and respect you even if you are in a leadership position and you will have incredibly stressful situations with those humans in or away from the workplace.

You may have an overly inflated ego and air of tyrannical superiority with a tendency to treat others like dirt or treat them as if they are unworthy of praise, reward, and respect. You may ridicule, name call, put down, harshly criticize in public, personally attack, and generally disrespect most of the things which other humans do. All of this kind of aggressive disrespecting behavior will cause bad emotions and feelings and greatly increase the bad stress level of the human interactions which you are having.

If you are in a leadership position then you will increase the stress level by passing your work load on to others just because you can, by burdening your workers with personal issues whose burden they should not have to deal with, by micromanaging, by indulging in casual betrayals, and by belittling the value of a worker’s experience and knowledge. You may be responsible for causing the bad stress these ways but to you it may erroneously seem that humans are giving you a hard time undeservedly and they are at fault.

CONCLUSION:

Other humans and things or events outside your control can be very stressful if you take them on personally, feel personally responsible, and erroneously feel you can do something about it. If you can’t control or change something then ignore it as much as possible or learn to accept or live with the stress. Just make sure that your excessive arguing, worrying, and responsibilities are not caused by your own inadequacies which you should try and correct as soon as possible to reduce overall stress.

If you conscientiously try to improve your communication skills, are moral and considerate, and treat others the way that you would want to be treated then you will be well on your way to reducing social stress. More competence in work skills will improve your work related stress.

Realize that stress builds up in your mind so do your best to try and control your mind with some simple stress reducing techniques which can be as simple as taking time out to do something different and relaxing such as meditation or listening to calming music. Not so obvious is that healthy eating and getting enough sleep are vital to reducing the bad effects of too much stress in your life.

Learn to discriminate between good and bad stress and consciously try to reduce the bad stress to tolerable limits. Change what you can change and live with what you can’t change but must live with for the moment.

Stress: n. (personal and/or human(s) demand(s)) and/or (environmental demand(s) and/or pressures) which affect an organism’s complete reaction(s)

THE TRUTH ABOUT COMFORT

comfort-zone

Comfort: v. to sense mild pleasure without stress and/or anxiety and/or pain

When we are without stress, anxiety, and pain most of us feel comfortable although some may want to add having creature comforts like a nice bed, nice meal, comforting music, a house with appliances as also being necessary to feel comfortable in ones surroundings.

Most of us enjoy a comfortable feeling but others thrive on activity and stress and don’t enjoy comfort as much as most of us. Those who don’t like comfort may in fact feel guilty or uneasy if they are not constantly engaged in some kind of activity and they are frequently hyperactive personalities.

For those of us with much stress in our lives, much anxiety, and even pain it is a smart thing to try and relax for at least an hour or two before bedtime in relative comfort and to get plenty of sleep to recharge our bodies with energy for the next day’s dose of activity. Resting in mental and physical comfort a little during the day with meditation or before bedtime is a good way to balance an otherwise hectic life.

Some of us enjoy a comfortable life so much that we are not willing to take on new responsibilities or experience new things which would improve our lives. Those who love comfort too much are usually not that ambitious and are frequently satisfied with a status quo existence.

It is generally true that lazy humans enjoy comfort more than the rest of us.

THE TRUTH ABOUT STRESS

stress-at-work

Working too feverishly, having too much to do, making many mistakes, having many serious problems in life, having too much responsibility, too much worrying, and having unhappy relationships can all cause unhealthy stress levels.

Job stress can sometimes be decreased by trying to schedule your time better and spending more time on important priorities and spending less time on relatively unimportant priorities. Taking some time out to plan ahead and work in a controlled orderly way is much better than working relatively randomly and chaotically which is what stress frequently originates from.

You relieve stress by taking some time out to do stressless things or by living more responsibly. If responsible living and working does not relieve severe stress on the job or in family life then the only option may be to change to a less stressful job or to get a divorce.

Daily stress relief may mean taking some time off to meditate, think about happy things, exercise, a bath, a massage, listening to music, or viewing a movie, video, or the TV. Getting enough sleep is frequently priority number two after eating and drinking healthy. To handle stress optimally you need to recharge your body with good food and good sleep on almost a daily basis.

If humans in your life are causing you stress then try to avoid them as much as is possible or read up on relationship books or articles which make suggestions on how to improve your relationship skills. Change your philosophy from “everything that you do annoys me” to “most of the things that you do don’t affect or phase me”.

9 BAD HABITS TO ELIMINATE FROM YOUR LIFE

487811_10151336801255326_410775141_n

Ignoring bodily health

Ignoring body health in youth may not lead to immediate bad consequences but sooner or later it will start impacting your life and you will be sicker and not functioning at your full potential. Make sure you eat healthy by staying away from over processed overly sugary foods as much as possible and start switching to a variety of certified organic food.

You don’t have to be religious about it because you can go without exercise for years if you lead an active life doing household chores and taking care of your offspring.  If you are leading a sedentary life with little movement start thinking about getting in about 20 minutes of walking or varied body movement about three times a week.

Being lazy or inactive

There is a current popular saying that a body at rest tends to stay at rest and one in motion tends to stay in motion. Get off your butt and start living life by doing something useful. Don’t be fearful of acquiring new knowledge on the internet and searching for goals which you would like to accomplish next in life. Do a little research by asking questions and getting answers. Start working towards a better job in small steps. If you waste your time looking for fun things to do it will cost you more money and stress you out financially and maybe even emotionally so start improving your knowledge on a subject with potential future application like a new and better job.

Avoid bad humans and bad experiences as much as possible

It may not be obvious but if you spend time with unhappy or miserable humans much of that will influence you and you will also be more unhappy with your life. Try to associate with optimistic happy humans and you will add happiness to your life. If you have a lousy job that is making you unhappy then start learning and planning for a better one. Associate with happy humans and a happy work environment and you will be happier for it.

Eliminate disorganization in small steps

Organize your workspace and make it neat and tidy. Replace your disorganized random work behavior and even personal life with one that operates on a schedule which uses your time wisely. Impulsively going through work or life is very inefficient and you can get much more done if you have an orderly environment and plan ahead for all the events in your work and life by the clock.

Don’t envy others lifestyles and material successes

Other humans will always seem to be doing better than you either with relationships or materially or exciting experiences. Don’t be envious because all that activity and material wealth is costing money and they are probably maxed out on their credit cards and in a financial hole which will make their great lifestyle come crashing down sooner or later. Live a simpler more efficient and thrifty life and you will avoid stressing out financially and emotionally.

Don’t try to please everyone

Don’t waste time and energy thinking whether you are wearing the right clothes, saying the right thing, or reacting properly to situations in your life. Try to please the most important humans in your life to some extent and that includes family and close friends but ignore what everyone else may think of you and stop trying to please them.

Plan for a new job before it chronically stresses you out

If your work load is getting almost unbearable or if you hate your job, you have terrible coworkers, and your job security is starting to be questionable then start looking for a new job or start educating yourself for a better next job before you become chronically stressed out.

Only robots are perfect

Don’t worry about not being perfect because no one can realistically be perfect or do everything right all the time. If you achieve most of your job goals and do so punctually and within acceptable standards then be satisfied with it because it probably won’t get any more perfect.

Don’t be financially illiterate

If you are not spending money with a budget and are spending money impulsively from paycheck to paycheck then learn to budget your money. What that basically means is that you should be saving up about 10% of it for a rainy day an/or your retirement and putting it into a savings account but not the stock market. Also don’t spend more than your monthly budget allows and if you do it for emergencies then take it out of your savings account but don’t develop a bad habit and constantly use savings to bail you out of overspending. Use a debit card if you can’t budget properly with a tempting credit card.

HOW TO MINIMIZE STRESS

office-job-16x9-021511

subset: n. a thing            duration: n. a period of time

In one sentence here is how to reduce stress:

TAKE SOME TIME OUT TO DO SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT  or  STOP YOUR WORK FOR DURATION AND DO A DIFFERENT SUBSET(S)!!!!!!

Not all jobs permit you to take about 5 minute breaks every hour from the stressful activity which you are doing but taking breaks is how you can refresh your mind and then successfully continue on with the stressful activity.

During a strenuous exercise routine, resting or taking a break to recharge your body’s energy supply is the smart thing to do.

During strenuous or stressful mental exercise, taking a break to get the mind out of it’s over excited state is the smart thing to do.

In an office setting where you are sedentary most of the time take a break and

walk around,

do in place exercises suchas deep knee bends, jumping jacks, running in place, pushups, and stretching,

meditate,

daydream,

call home and chat briefly,

sip on a unsweet beverage,

eat an unsweet snack of fruits and nuts,

puff on a cigarette but don’t inhale,

talk to a coworker who isn’t busy doing something important,

or do more than one of the above suggested activities.

In some jobs it may be possible to take a break every two or three or four hours for more than 5 minutes so do it whenever possible and do one or more of the above suggested activities.
