Condescend: v. to communicate and reveal a feeling of superiority and use implied and/or overt criticism of others
“And if that is too hard for you to grasp, then I will just have to explain it to you again and again.”
This is an example of a condescending remark which is really implying superior learning ability of the communicator and criticizing by implying stupidity in the recipient of the remark with the words explain again and again.
“I have to descend to your level because you are so dim witted!”
Descending to your level implies a superior level of the communicator and here the criticism is overt because dim witted is just a synonym for stupid.

Excessive feelings of superiority with excessive criticizing is the evidence of a haughty human. The contemptuous nature of a haughty individual implies that deep down there is very little if any empathy with “inferior” humans who are not liked and are disrespected in general. Haughtiness is more than just looking down on humans because it is done contemptuously.

Arrogance: n. an excessive and frequently offensive (sensing of and behaving with) superiority and/or behaving disrespectfully
There is a fine line between confidence which will get you hired and arrogance which shows excessive superiority over and/or disrespect of humans, especially those working under you, which are characteristics which can get you fired from a position of authority.
The most undesirable characteristics of arrogant humans are that they use put downs and name call, try to blame someone else for their mistakes or shortcomings, disrespectfully interrupt conversations, drop influential names out of context in everyday conversations, brag much about themselves, and can do 5 more annoying things which you can read about in the following link:

Patronize: v. to communicate with seeming kindness but revealing a sense of superiority
Have you been patronized by your boss, parents, or powerful friends?
The answer is that you probably aren’t aware of it if it does exist because someone who is being kind to you does not usually come across as wielding his or her superiority over you.
Humans in powerful positions or in positions of authority can patronize you since they feel superior to you and may only be faking kindness to you.

Whether in a company or school a uniform is a necessary cohesive item to be worn by all. This greatly eliminates, jealousy, gossip about the latest fashions and accessories, envy, feelings of inferiority or superiority, and gossip about appropriate or inappropriate clothing.
Esprit de corps is maintained in a uniformed atmosphere with no trouble originating from human attire. Sure customers can dress fashionably as they wish but not company employees. Superiority: n. sensing excessive competence and/or dominance in a subset(s)
As offspring we want to be stronger, smarter, more skilled, and more attractive than other offspring and want to be loved or valued more by older offspring and authority figures such as parents.
In effect we sometimes desperately want to be better or superior to others. This desire for dominance leads to stereotyping and group thinking later in life and is the source of much prejudice, bias, and superior group thinking.
Wanting to be better leads to feelings of superiority when you are better and it is an inescapable fact of human existence which must be combated in its extreme forms. Those who are not superior frequently try to make up for it with material possessions or status symbols which make them feel more important than they really are in society.
The truly superior in society are frequently the honest, sincere, dependable, competent, friendly, trustworthy, moral, and modest who do not flaunt their wealth if they have any and do not brag about their superior status in society.
If you have integrity or are honest and moral then you are truly superior and it will be reflected in good relationships with other humans. Some without integrity may prosper financially in the short duration but their human relationships will be handicapped or frequently very bad.

We frequently feel contempt towards humans and behaviors which we believe are inferior and don’t meet our moral and/or physical standards. We frequently don’t want to help a contemptible human but rather feel that there would be no great loss if that human died.
Contemptuous feelings have historically been the motivation for genocide and inhuman treatment of others. Feelings of superiority are dangerous because what frequently follows is a belief that the inferior should not have a right to exist on the planet and if they do exist then they deserve extreme hardship or misery in their lives.
Historically immoral and criminal activity was held in contempt and resulted in cruel and unusual punishments. Serial killers are held in contempt and the death penalty is frequently used to end their lives. The desire to kill or destroy contemptible things is an important part of human nature and it must be civilized if justice is to be maintained and unnecessary suffering is to be considerably reduced.

Chauvinism: n. a human convinced of the superiority of one’s gender and/or group
There are religious chauvinists who believe in the superiority of their religion and there are ethnic and gender chauvinists who believe in the the superiority of their ethnicity or gender. Male chauvinism has recently been denounced and it is because we still generally think of males and females as stereotypic behaviors which today have very many exceptions and it is frequently an inaccurate portrayal in the modern world of individual men and women.
Generally men are taller, stronger physically, more aggressive than women who are generally more talkative, caring, and live longer. Men have been the dominant gender historically but women are beginning to assert themselves politically in an era where physical force is no longer that valued.
Rather than saying that one gender is superior to another it is more appropriate to say that each gender has its weaknesses and strengths and acting together they can complement one another very nicely to raise offspring in an optimal way.

Nationalists are not only patriots who love their country but feel that their country is superior to other nations. Nationalists tend to want to impose their laws on other nations and are frequently more ready to use military power to influence other nations.
Nationalists tend to be expansionist minded and want to conquer with the use of force such as former Nazi Germany and the former Soviet Union.
In an era of globalization nationalism is frequently an impediment to mutual agreements between nations and should be reduced if at all possible if we are ever to function as one world community in the long duration.

In India the untouchable class was frequently held in contempt by other Indians because they were considered one step higher than pond scum.
