Sincerity: n. an honest expression(s) which (is not brazenly and/or demeaningly communicated and/or is tactfully honest)
Being sincere is being honest but not in a bold and shameless way which will make others feel bad about an honest comment made about their looks and/or bad behavior.
You can have honest criticism but it should not be presented in a scolding, brutal, or demeaning way which embarrasses or decreases the dignity or respect of the human being criticized.
Being tactfully honest is what sincerity is all about. Knowing social etiquette in all its varied forms is helpful in knowing what true sincerity is so you can maintain a friendly respected relationship without personal offense becoming part of the communication.
