17 REASON’S PEOPLE FAIL!!!

Perhaps the most important reason people fail is because they don’t have the natural ability to succeed in an exceptional way. Your memory may not be that good which is important in managerial positions or you may not be energetic or self driven enough and may be lazy, a procrastinator, and always trying to take the easy way out. Yes, a great memory, being a fast learner, and being supper energetic are characteristics you often need to make an exceptional impact in life.

In sports it helps if you have been physically gifted with excellent coordination, endurance, great muscle memory, and strength. Yes, some humans are born with the right muscle structure and type to run the fastest and some of the best acrobats are born with natural flexibility much beyond the average. It is a sad fact of life that humans are born unequal with different natural strengths and weaknesses. It greatly helps if you are born with a high IQ or incredible physical abilities. Yes, without natural talent you still may be able to make it with smart hard work but you also run the risk of premature burnout mentally or physically. Yes, it is also true that without hard smart work a high IQ or great physical ability will be largely wasted and you may still not amount to very much in life.

5 THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN MAKING GOALS!!!

Specify the goal in detail and also all the specific details of the smaller goals on the way to the larger goal if it is a long duration goal.

Will you measure the achievement of the smaller goals as indicators that you are succeeding in reaching the long duration goal or what are the specific ways that you will know that you are in the process of succeeding or have succeeded in achieving your long duration goal?

Is your goal realistically attainable or do you have the time, money, and abilities to achieve those goals?

What is the approximate time duration for the achievement of the long duration goal and any relevant sub goals?

What kind of preparation do you need before embarking on the pursuit of a goal(s)?

WHAT DO YOU REALLY NEED OR WANT???

Try to answer these questions as best you can and write them down if you won’t remember some of the answers. You may be surprised how much you will learn about yourself or become conscious of your needs and wants.

Do I know what to do to get to where I want to be or go?

Do I know how to gradually become who I want to be?

Can I list in order of importance the things which I care about the most?

Can I change what is holding me back right now?

Do I know what to do to improve myself and/or my circumstances?

What would I have to sacrifice to get to where I really want to be or go?

Do I feel stuck with something or is there a way out of it that I or someone can see?

Can you list things which you definitely don’t want?

Would it help if I learned something new and useful on almost a daily basis instead of just once a week or month?

What are some examples of good days and how could I increase their number or frequency?

Can I list some short and long duration goals which apply to me?

Do I know that my habits are often short duration goals which are being impulsively achieved on a regular or repetitive basis and often with little planning?

What short duration goals can I add which will help my long duration goals?

Can I list my good and bad habits?

What daily habits, especially bad ones, can I reduce or replace with better habits or goals?

Getting to work on time, preparing a meal, driving a car to a destination, studying for a test, asking a question on a search engine, reading an article, reading a short book, going out on a date with a significant other, etc. can be thought of as short duration habits or short duration goals being achieved.

Preparing for a better job, going to school, taking a course on the internet, learning to play an instrument, raising offspring, saving money to travel to an exotic place, saving money to invest in a business, writing a book, etc. can be thought of as long duration goals in the process of being achieved which require the achievement of short duration goals along the way.

Ultimately the key to a successful and happy life is to personally set realistic goals which match your ability and will hopefully reward your determined efforts. Set many small short term goals and achieve them to gain confidence. Set some large duration goals and work towards them on a regular basis with the hope of achieving them within a reasonable period of time.

Yes, some sacrifice of time, energy, and money will be necessary but actively pursuing short and long duration goals is what makes life worth living and is seldom a boring experience.

Research, read, write something down, think, and do is the road to achievement in a nutshell.

Fundamentally it is all a question of knowing how to improve yourself and your circumstances. The only real difference is in how FAST the improvement becomes or how ambitiously you pursue the improvement. Use search engines to help you answer questions if you don’t know where to start or read a good book on the subject which you are questioning. Best wishes. Uldis

PROS AND CONS OF SOCIAL MEDIA!!!

Pros:

You can network with humans worldwide

You can intimately communicate with close friends and family

You can network with professionals on Linkedin

You can share hobbies and good internet websites

You can minimize TV watching

Cons:

The information can be overwhelming

It is hard to exclude false content

Not good for group discussions

It can become an addictive timewaster

You can become a victim of bullying, sexual abuse, and profanity

You can become a victim of insults, put downs, name calling, ridicule, and humiliation

Personal fitness and family time together may suffer

Privacy issues

You can easily fall prey to quantity not quality communications

You can become a victim of too many ads

Social media is a potentially powerful tool which if used judiciously can make and maintain good social contacts and reveal some useful information. Used poorly the addictive tool can become a time waster and take valuable time away from other daily useful pursuits. If you judiciously prioritize the humans that you interact with and schedule your time well then social media can be a great asset in your life.

Pros:

Networking with humans worldwide is a great advantage if you travel much or want to maintain professional contacts worldwide in your field of expertise. Cheap communications over the internet are very alluring and you don’t have to pay high rates for international communication.

You can easily and cheaply keep in touch with close friends and family members nationally by choosing either Facebook or Instagram. You can use one website exclusively for casual contacts and many “friends” which you only view once in a while. Use another website where you more frequently stay in touch with close friends and family. Separating your close contacts with more remote ones is a good idea so you don’t mix important contacts with rather unimportant ones.

Linkedin is an important website for networking with professional contacts and then you can switch to personal emails if you want the communications to be more intimate or private.

You can network with humans who have similar hobbies or pastimes and share your passion. Getting hints from others about good websites for your important interests can supplement your initial Google or search engine results.

Social media and the internet in general will probably minimize your need to watch TV. You won’t be wasting your time on rather trivial pursuits if you so desire.

Cons:

Social media can become overwhelming, especially if you are young, get addicted, and are not very selective in the humans that you interact with. Keeping track of a hundred or more friends or acquaintances can be mind boggling. Intensively communicating with a handful of friends can consume an incredible amount of time and be overwhelming. Too much social media can adversely affect your schoolwork, job performance, and offline human communications ability.

If you are heavily involved in politics a recent phenomenon is fake news and it is increasingly becoming harder and harder to tell whether a news report is reliable or possibly misinformation and false. If it is not a reputable source then there is always the possibility of unreliable or false information. A lie like a rumor can quickly spread through social media before you realize what the real truth is. The internet in general is increasingly being plagued with fraudulent activity in the form of scam websites, scams, and bad information in general.

Social media is also not very useful for group discussions so special software may have to be installed to get a group to communicate with each other simultaneously.

Social media can become addictive just like texting so become concerned and start cutting back if you are spending more than two hours daily communicating with others.

Especially young children can become victims of bullying, sexual abuse, and profanity. Further they may be insulted, put down, name called, ridiculed, and humiliated on social media by others. If you become a victim of abuse on social media then it can have some devastating psychological impacts on your mind and behavior. If you are not a fully developed personality incapable of turning off personal assaults then you may become depressed, miserable, or constantly involved in dysfunctional communications.

Too much social media can have negative impacts on your physical fitness and take away from valuable time spent with family. Becoming physically unfit and becoming unable to successfully communicate with family members is something which should be avoided at all costs.

Privacy issues are important because anything on social media is essentially a public communication. Potential employers may view your social media presence and make decisions about hiring based on what kind of friends you have and how much unfavorable information you may have revealed to the world about yourself. A social media presence which shows that you use profanity frequently, are promiscuous, and have friends with bad behavior or criminal records will doom you for any future employment. A delinquent childhood may doom a successful career as an adult in the working world.

The major drawback to social media is that you often can’t discriminate between quality vs. quantity interactions. You may quantitatively communicate much but the quality of your communications may be very bad or mostly trivial useless communications. Essentially you may be wasting your time, energy, and even money on social media and not bettering your life in any significant way.

Most social media is interested in making some money off of you. This often means that you will be deluged with ads for information, goods, and services which may make you buy things which you really don’t need and not only waste your time but also your money too.

Conclusion:

Social media is a tool which when used efficiently can help you to maintain contact with important humans in your life and become the source for interesting information and communication. Used inefficiently, social media can become a waster of your time, energy, and eventually money. So learn to use social media wisely and avoid all the pitfalls or cons which are a great temptation and can lead to addictive misery and failure in life.

Social media is a useful technological tool. Use it wisely by prioritizing your contacts, time and energy spent and you will greatly benefit. Use it unwisely and it can become quicksand which will slowly drown you in a sea of overwhelming addictive mostly trivial information.

PRIORITIZE AND CATEGORIZE THE HUMANS IN YOUR LIFE!!!

Prioritize and list the humans that you need and want to spend the most time with.

Categorize your human contacts as close friends, important and unimportant job related friends, casual friends, and acquaintances.

Interact with important friends more frequently or spend more time, energy, effort, and money on them.

Network or try to bond with humans who potentially could further your present or future career or job.

Take a chance or spend some time on new friends that interest you or are useful to you.

Try to associate more with humans or friends who motivate you to improve.

Maintain contact with humans who are progressing in life.

For close friends choose the ones with integrity who are moral and honest, dependable, competent, and somewhat ambitious and motivating. You must also have these traits if you want to attract quality friends.

To have a friend you must be a friend, help out where appropriate, and be interesting to talk to. You will probably connect more readily with humans who are close to your age, have the same educational level, and have some mutual or common interests in life.

Avoid or exclude bad or useless time wasting friends from your life.

Many humans will enter and leave your life throughout a lifetime. Don’t be afraid to leave or minimize contact with old friends and don’t be afraid to try to make new and perhaps better friends or contacts.

Continue to selfeducate yourself, broaden your interests, and improve yourself because ultimately humans want someone interesting to interact with too.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF 13 TIME MANAGEMENT AIDS AND FURTHER DETAILED EXPLANATIONS!!!

Don’t multitask

Set deadlines for important tasks before they are actually due

Minimize distractions

Ensure mental alertness with healthy food and drink, a good night’s sleep, morning exercise, and rest periods during work

Schedule important tasks during your most productive hours

Remind yourself by looking at a written schedule

Batch your tasks in order of priority

Refuse additional commitments unless it is an emergency

Keep your workspace organized

Manage your stress with breaks during work and after work

Try to divide big tasks into smaller tasks or serial steps

Daily set aside some free time for emergencies and needed research

If permitted, work overtime to meet your daily schedule

Make a time schedule or logbook of your daily activities for two weeks with minute details such as going to the rest room and texting or talking on the cell phone.

Grouping or characterizing the activities is the hard part. For a job schedule you may have categories such as supervisory duties, meetings, appointments, communications via cell phone or computer, routine tasks, infrequent or unexpected tasks, break time, customer time, cleanup time, planning time, waiting time, and even doing nothing time or killing time.

Becoming a more efficient worker is hard because you have to analyze each

category and ask yourself. Should I spend less or more time on the category? How important is the category? Can the category be changed, improved, eliminated, or given to someone else? Can I take on more tasks or categories?

A parenting, managerial, technical, sales, and routine job are very different jobs and managing your time in each job category varies widely.

If you are stuck in a routine boring repetitive job then there is very frequently nothing much that you can do to improve it.

If you have a technical job then your primary means of improvement may be developing more technical skill either through learning or on the job training.

If your job is mostly managerial then you should concentrate on trying to improve on your emotional intelligence or communications skills.

If you are a parent trying to become a better one then sharing your experiences with other parents with children and getting feedback or reading parenting books may be a logical way to improve.

If you are in sales then there is a big difference in selling software or selling cars. For car sales things such as speedy delivery, color, size, extras, and brand popularity are frequently more important than the actual functionality or details of the product. Salesmen have to come across as someone whom the customer can trust and establishing quick rapport or trust is a skill few humans have in abundance. Good sales humans have excellent human skills and can deal with all kinds of personality types rich or poor.

Planning ahead is very important in time management and looking over a schedule the night before or reviewing a schedule of things to do before the job starts is a very useful tool.

If you are forgetful then by all means write down your tasks or assignments and the deadline or when they are due and your approximation of about how long it will take.

Make a To Do List with things which have to be completed and update it daily and make it electronically available to your boss and coworkers so they know your workload and will hopefully not overload it.

Stay organized by clearing your work desk and computer of clutter or useless info. Organize everything so it is readily accessible when you need it.

Try to schedule important meetings or events early in the morning which is usually the time when you are working most efficiently or when you are at your best.

Try to fence humans out during your most productive hours. Do not disturb signs are the old way of doing this but you can block out times on your electronic schedule or be short and dismissive if you are interrupted.

Based on your time on the job you can come up with an approximation of the time it takes for you to handle unexpected delays or small rush tasks or communications. Set aside that extra hour or two for delays and you may not have to work overtime each time unexpected obligations arise during the day.

Cut back on your verbosity with family, coworkers, and even boss and stay on topic or subject and try not to diverge. Try to be as brief as possible and to the point in businesslike fashion.

Write down important information about a phone conversation if you are the forgetful kind and usually briefly talking over the phone is quicker than a memo to that human.

Meetings can be a big time waster if humans are not given the agenda ahead of time or if there is no agenda, if the meeting is not held in the morning but at the end of the day when most do not function efficiently, and if there is not a time limit placed on each agenda topic to encourage speedy resolution.

Protect your time from being hogged by others and simply standing up during an encounter can discourage idle conversation about irrelevant topics. Not having your desk chair face the door, having only one guest chair which needs pulling out, keeping your door shut or partially open can reduce interference times, and simply saying no I’m busy are all ways to discourage chit chat.

Learn to delegate authority if you are the manager.

You can greatly reduce procrastination or even eliminate it if you have a To Do List and actually follow it.

Don’t turn down jobs which seem to be outside your realm of expertise. It may be a test to see if you can do more and you may even get a promotion and pay raise out of it if you succeed and do it well.

If you feel insecure about an assignment because of lack of knowledge or experience then try to get that knowledge from coworkers or other sources before you attempt it.

Use free time during travel time to gain new knowledge, communicate with humans, prepare for the future, or just use the time to rewind or relax.

Take 5 or 10 minute breaks during the day to wind down or do some relaxing to avoid burnout.

At home save time by combining trips out of the house to more than one destination, organize your home, train your family to get accustomed to a normal routine which is relatively predictable, control your offspring access to the internet and TV, and try to live close to work.

Reward yourself with a tasty organic snack, herbal tea, organic fruit and/or vegetable juice, or a break after completing a task successfullyIf it is not convenient then your favorite treat is acceptable.
