8 CATEGORIES TO ASSESS AND HELP IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF YOUR LIFE!!!

MORALITY AND LIFE PURPOSE

SELFESTEEM

NUTRITION, EXERCISE, AND SLEEP

FINANCES

RELATIONSHIPS

WORK

PLAY

ENVIRONMENT

MORALITY AND LIFE PURPOSE:

The purpose of nature is to survive and reproduce sustainably and for humans the one extra dimension is to survive in a moral sustainable way which does not necessarily mean that reproduction is mandatory for all humans. Spirituality is highly over rated because it merely means a strong emotional commitment or devotion to a good moral sustainable existence.

Yes, your purpose in life may be to lead an immoral hedonistic lifestyle and try to get as much physical pleasure out of life as possible while it lasts but historically these life purposes have led to short lifespans with much misery, depression, and failed human relationships along the way.

Your true purpose in life should be to lead a life of integrity worthy of respect and admiration which means being honest, sincere, and moral in your human interactions and moral in your interactions with wilderness or plant and animal life.

Classical or religious morality is outdated and must be updated. In the transitional phase to a secular worldwide morality governments must provide transitional religious liberty laws which permit the peaceful coexistence of both in this world.

What is this new updated secular morality which should be taught in all secular elementary government schools to young impressionable minds so that they don’t drown in moral confusion always asking themselves is what I am doing right or wrong? Adults should mostly impulsively be able to distinguish between right and wrong once they are about 13 years of age and relativistic situation ethics is simply not the right solution to the increasing moral chaos in the western world.

The new updated secular worldwide morality should be- except in emergency situations- don’t destroy biodiversity, don’t lie, don’t be inefficient, don’t steal, don’t commit adultery if married, and don’t murder!!!!!!

SELFESTEEM:

We are all born different with different appearances and different ability potential based on our genetic inheritance and it is something which each individual must struggle with as they go through an educational system and interact with other human beings.

Dominant individuals exist in all societies and there are basically the leaders and the led and you may have to be satisfied in being mostly led if you are not leadership potential with emotional intelligence and a fairly good memory for names and events.

Everyone except the severely handicapped and those coming from dysfunctional families are capable of a good moral existence if they have been indoctrinated with a believable secular morality at home and in school. If you have integrity and are leading a good moral existence then you can have plenty of selfesteem even if you are unemployed and destitute on government assistance or welfare. No matter what your financial situation, if you are morally sound then you deserve to feel like a worthwhile citizen of the world and can be called a good human.

NUTRITION, EXERCISE, AND SLEEP:

For healthy survival you need good nutrition, adequate exercise, and enough sleep to function doing anything in this world.

Eating and drinking as much sustainable organic food and drink as possible is of primary importance for long duration sustained health. If you lead an overly sedentary lifestyle then a little extra exercise is vital since you are not getting enough on the job.

Finally enough sleep is mandatory so that your body can recover from daily stresses in your life. Taking drug sleep aids leads to disastrous long duration problems with insomnia so if you are not getting enough sleep naturally then you should seriously consider changing something in your overstressed or over worked lifestyle.

FINANCES:

Money is theoretically the same thing as energy and we all know that for humans to survive they need life giving energy to survive and do things. Stored energy or money is symbolically a savings account and energy or money in use creates the motion of humans and objects.

Nothing in life, except for the sun’s energy, is really free in the true sense of the word because even if you are doing trivial things or being nice to humans you are really using up the energy stored in your body to do body work. The source of human energy should be healthy sustainable food and we all know that food costs money unless you are eating from dumpsters and getting it theoretically for free.

The economic system with programmed inflation or a hidden tax and credit cards do not encourage historical thriftiness of saving for emergencies and spending money conservatively by sticking to a budget. One of the biggest financial mistakes is that humans live from paycheck to paycheck and never learn to budget their money wisely by saving some and spending the rest on needs rather than impulsive wants which mislead us from responsible financial behavior.

Financial success is not only a good job or investment but an ability to budget your money wisely.

RELATIONSHIPS:

Humans with good relationships have integrity, are trustworthy, dependable, competent, friendly, empathetic, and don’t have many bad habits. If you truly want to improve your relationships with other humans then learn what these words mean and improve your personality step by step until you are more moral, trustworthy, dependable, competent, friendly, empathetic, and reduce the number of your bad habits.

If you are hoping to attract the opposite sex then good looks, a good job, good communication skills, and a good personality accompanied by moral behavior will optimize your chances of finding a good mate.

WORK:

Robots and computer software will eventually replace or severely reduce the amount of human labor necessary so technological skills will be in high demand for some relatively elite workers. This means that the governmental system will eventually have to provide welfare for most of the population which will either be unemployed for a lifetime or will only work at one job for a relatively short duration after which they will either have to retrain for available jobs or live on welfare for the rest of their lives.

Lifetime jobs for relatively unskilled workers will be a thing of the past and unless you put in the time and effort necessary to retrain then a lifetime of welfare dependency will be highly probable.

PLAY:

If future trends continue then playing or doing nonproductive work will be what preoccupies most humans for a lifetime and doing nonproductive work will not be the stress relief or entertainment in or between jobs.

ENVIRONMENT:

Ideally we would all like to live in a healthy environment which includes being surrounded by a good human environment. Getting a good human environment is finding a good moral significant other or spouse to associate with and/or a close friend or two and some casual friendships. On the job having good moral coworkers is a preferred circumstance.

Our biggest concern should be a minimally polluted sustainable environment and global conservation of wilderness which will be the safety net for a healthy food source once technology has too radically and irresponsibly transformed domesticated food to one unfit for human consumption. An organic sustainable food supply for the world is the ultimate goal and if we fail at this then our only savior will be the wilderness safety net at some future generation.

16 POSSIBLE SOURCES OF UNHAPPINESS AT WORK!!!

unhappy-at-work-rt-sidebar

The basic sources for unhappiness are a difficult job, bad management, bad coworkers, and bad personal work and coping skills. Here in more detail I outline things which can cause you to be unhappy.

Comparing yourself to others.

If you compare yourself to coworkers and find out that they are smarter than you, get more work done, have a better relationship with the boss, have a happier family life, do more exciting or interesting things away from work, have a new car or bigger house, and travel a lot then you might begin to feel inadequate and the comparison can begin to become a source of dissatisfaction and unhappiness for you.

If you try to imitate them then you may get into debt up to your neck and then you will really have a reason to be unhappy. Comparisons can be a source for happiness and pride in oneself if you are better than your coworkers but if not then comparisons are very frustrating and can cause much unhappiness.

Obsessing over things which you can’t control.

If you worry too much about a failing company because of outdated practices or bad management or worry too much about bad coworkers making your life miserable then you will be unhappy. You can’t control company policy nor bad workers so don’t obsess about it and make your life unhappy. Instead start preparing or looking for a better job elsewhere.

Overcommiting yourself or your team.

Making promises above and beyond the call of duty which you or your team can’t fulfill will often result in failure and disappointment which will definitely be a source of unhappiness.

Making excuses for mistakes and failure.

You may blame a mistake or failure on insufficient time, too hard a task, bad advice or interference from coworkers, and problems at home and not try to avoid making the mistake or failing again a second time. Trying to avoid responsibility for your own failed actions will be a source of ongoing unhappiness.

Hating others.

A boss or coworker may greatly offend you with insults, put downs, name calling, humiliation, and ridicule once in a while. If you can change this then take action and if not it is best to try and forgive and forget instead of wallowing in hatred wasting time, energy, and health while feeling unhappy.

Wallowing in past mistakes and wrongs.

Spending too much time thinking about past mistakes and wrongs inflicted on you will make you unhappy. Instead try to learn from your mistakes and wrongs inflicted on you and move forward with courageous optimism trying to avoid a repetition of a bad past.

Trying to “win” every argument.

Trying to win every argument is unrealistically trying to show that you are never wrong. It is best not to argue in the first place which is a primitive way of forcing your opinion on someone. Give in sometimes and concentrate on what is to be done next rather than doggedly standing your ground and both feeling unhappy about the circumstance.

Wasting precious time and energy on malice and gossip.

Sometimes unkind and untrue rumors are spread about a human. Ask yourself how you would feel if the same gossip was spread about you. More importantly find out if the doubtful rumor is true before you spread it further because your honest reputation will suffer and it will be a source of future unhappiness if it is not true.

Worrying what others think of you.

If you have integrity then there is no reason why you should worry if others think less of you and feel unhappy about it. You can’t change their thoughts and frankly it is not your business to read other human minds in the first place.

Blaming others or your job for your unhappiness.

If you feel you have a bad job and/or bad coworkers who are making you unhappy then make the best of it and start preparing for or looking for a better job. Ultimately you are making yourself unhappy because you should be in charge of your emotions. Dissatisfaction with a working environment need not make you unhappy if you don’t let it.

A messy work area.

A messy work area means less efficient work ability causing wasted time looking for misplaced paperwork and objects which can be a source for some unhappiness.

Not taking time to daydream, relax, exercise in place, snack, or meditate on the job.

Nothing is more stressful on the mind and body with possible premature burnout than working feverishly without taking any breaks. The bad emotional and physical effects of overworking can make you very unhappy.

Not getting enough revitalizing sleep.

If you don’t get enough sleep at night your tiredness will adversely affect your work performance the next day and can cause much unhappiness with more mistakes and failure than usual.

Procrastination or wasting time.

Procrastination may mean not meeting a deadline or making mistakes and failing trying to rush a task in the last few hours or minutes. Bad work results can mean much unhappiness and being labeled as being lazy.

Not setting priorities.

Some tasks are more important than others and should be done first. Not properly prioritizing tasks means less efficient working resulting in bad performance and much complaining from management which will make you unhappy.

Being rude, arrogant, mean, deceitful, and disrespectful.

These are just some of the many personality flaws which you may have which will destroy good relationships with coworkers and may eventually get you fired by management causing great unhappiness either way.

THE TRUTH ABOUT DEHUMANIZE*

Eraser changing the word Dehumanize for Humanize

Eraser changing the word Dehumanize for Humanize

Dehumanize: v. to do human work which only uses minimal potential skills of samer human

Dehumanizing work is really a job which doesn’t use your repertoire of skills to the fullest but repetitively makes you do things which are boring and unchallenging such as most assembly line work is. Most assembly line work utilizes a small fraction of your potential and you should be thankful that those repetitive dehumanizing jobs are going to be done mostly by machines and robots in the near foreseeable future.

Some say that war is dehumanizing and that is only because your minimal skill at killing and destroying is being emphasized over all the other possible human skills which you can have in your life. Modern warfare is really a very complex activity and requires considerable strategic and tactical skill to do, and this is especially true when fighting terrorists which utilizes good human skills also such as converting the general population to your side psychologically and getting them to help you in your efforts with valuable intel or information.

19 DESIRABLE PERSONAL SKILLS AND 13 DESIRABLE COMMUNICATION SKILLS WITH OTHERS!!!

AAEAAQAAAAAAAAIXAAAAJDQ5ODFmZGZhLWE4NzYtNDEzMS05YjQ0LTFlOWJiMWJlODQyYg

Being your best means setting high standards for your own job performance but it also means having good communication skills when dealing or interacting with others.

19 DESIRABLE PERSONAL SKILLS:

Find work that you love so you can dedicate yourself entirely to it and not have to procrastinate along the way.

Have integrity and be moral, truthful, and trustworthy.

Learn to discriminate between important and not so important tasks but once you commit to doing them then do them to the best of your ability.

If you can’t do something on your own then don’t be afraid to ask for help.

Challenge yourself by pushing the limits of your expertise even though you may be good at your job and feel that there is not much room for improvement.

Don’t just always complain but try to become part of the solution.

Try to maintain an optimistic attitude as much as possible.

Update your skill set so you don’t become outdated and useless.

Always try to do your best or strive for excellence with no “good enough” or sloppy performances.

Try to overcome your fears by psyching yourself with a can do attitude.

Preparing or planning ahead should be high on your list of priorities.

Make goals by deciding what you will do, when your will do it, and about how long it will take to do it.

Don’t worry about who gets the credit for your job unless an employee is passing off your work as his or hers and is not just the boss taking credit for your work.

Be a good role model both morally and in the quality of your work.

Sometimes persistence is a virtue so don’t be too eager to abandon a course of action if it doesn’t work out the first time and you have determined the reason why it didn’t work the first time around.

Behave responsibly and don’t have an excuse for every mistake you make on the job.

Failure is an opportunity to learn what not to do or how to better do it next time. Some failure is inevitable on the road to success.

Be dependable by being punctual and getting your work in on time.

Learn to manage your stress so it doesn’t start to adversely affect your performance on the job.

13 DESIRABLE COMMUNICATION SKILLS WITH OTHERS:

Make humans feel important with appropriate praise and active listening with the goal of getting the best out of them.

Delegate authority where appropriate to optimize the use of the talents of others or be a mentor to humans who will benefit from your attention.

Offer help to others where appropriate.

Avoid or ignore all gossip and don’t pass on rumors.

Avoid angry confrontations as much as possible by counting to 10 or more before you speak.

Be courteous and remember to say “please” and “thank you”.

Be kind and polite with others no matter what their rank and no matter how bad you may be feeling at the moment.

Show respect towards others by valuing their input and taking time to listen carefully to what they are saying and note what they are doing.

Respect a human’s time and try to be short and sweet and to the point most of the time.

Fulfill your promises and follow through once you commit to something.

Be a team player and interact appropriately with team members and contribute your share to any team effort if needed.

Share your information and knowledge freely with others which makes them feel that you are transparent or have nothing to hide and have a generous helpful spirit.

In being honest remember to be sincere too. Being sincere shows that you empathize with another’s feelings and circumstances and this can go a long way towards avoiding unnecessary misunderstandings and blunders.

Meticulous: adj. doing a subset(s) accurately and carefully and with attention to small subsets

THE TRUTH ABOUT REMUNERATION+

Remuneration: n. giving money and/or privileges for work

Remuneration is usually money given but you can also pay someone for doing work by granting them a privilege. The best work incentives are not always money but privileges granted which elevates the status or feeling of importance of the worker getting the privileges.

THE TRUTH ABOUT SERVICE+

community-service

Service: v. to do work with or without a subset(s) which benefits a human(s) and is frequently done for money

Service is a subset of work and it is work done to benefit a human(s) in some way. There are “free” services such as public broadcasting, charities, libraries, and recommendations of professional services which are funded by the government or private organizations supported by advertising revenue so in reality there is no free service which someone doesn’t ultimately pay for.

There are human services such as tutoring, senior care, medicine, and entertainment which focus on basic human needs and wants. Information and technical services are important and services dedicated to goods distribution or customer services which are the commonest forms which exist.

Do you have a need or want? Chances are that you will find a service willing and able to satisfy your need or want for a price.

12 GOOD WORK HABIT TIPS!!!

Do-Good-Work

Arrive 15 minutes early at work and for important appointments and about 5 minutes early for unimportant appointments. This promotes punctuality.

Spend a little time thinking ahead and make plans to divide your work into sequential smaller parts if possible and then rush to complete them one at a time. Each completion will give you a sense of accomplishment and the motivation to move on to the next task.

Take a handful  of 3 to 5 minute breaks during the day to relieve some stress if you are feverishly working to make a deadline.

About 80% of jobs are filled by networking and not direct advertising so keep in touch with humans in your field of work which may be useful sources of employment information in the future.

Concentrate on doing what you feel you are good at and try to delegate responsibility in areas that you are not that good at.

To avoid the probability of job burnout break up a frantic pace with at least one 20 minute break and do something totally different during the day which need not be an eating break but can be.

If you begin to feel sleepy in the afternoon then do some physical in place exercise to recharge your body energy.

Always exceed your time estimates by about 10% so that if you have unforeseen problems you will still finish on time and maintain your reputation as being dependable and not under delivering on promises.

Make sure your boss is aware of your contributions to the job and if this means speaking up more at meetings then do so since it might affect your bonuses or promotion potential.

If you are not very good at remembering important things then document or write down important events or information at work which you will or may have to remember in the future.

Don’t gossip

If you need something important to do your work successfully don’t be afraid to ask for it and tell management what you need and why.

THE IDEAL JOB AND ONE THAT YOU WILL PROBABLY NOT FIND!!!

best_job_in_the_world

There are 9 characteristics of the ideal job and a high probability that you will not land in one because of human incompetence and selfishness.

You will have much opportunity for advancement.

Your bonus structure will greatly supplement your income.

If you are a salesman your territory will be protected and won’t change.

You’ll get extensive training as necessary.

You’ll have scheduling flexibility so you can work from home sometimes.

You’ll get assistants to help you if your work load becomes too burdensome.

You’ll get more exciting or better work once you fix the problem that exists in the department or once you complete a specified project.

You will be working with supportive members.

You will have a competent manager or boss.

The truth is that –

Not all jobs have room for advancement unless the boss dies, changes jobs, or gets promoted.

Bonuses and salary increases may be paltry at most.

If you are a sales human with designated territory then it may be broken up into smaller territories.

Extensive training is costly and you may be denied it due to budget cuts or lack of free time.

You may never be able to work from home due to security reasons or job rules.

Instead of getting assistants to lighten your workload, it will just grow larger and more stressful.

Once you fix the problem in a department or project you may be assigned to a mediocre position or even get fired.

You may find your coworkers to be uncooperative overly security conscious humans who are hard to communicate with and may fail at doing things efficiently.

Your manager or boss may be handicapped with slight, even complete incompetence or not have enough emotional intelligence to communicate effectively with you. At worst the manager or boss will try to rule with threats of punishment or through fear and intimidation and will be disrespected by almost everyone for the basically tyrannical managerial or bossing style.

CONCLUSION:

Not all jobs are perfect and meet the 9 criteria listed but you may be satisfied with less than the 9 specified if you are desperate or realistic enough.

Your job may not be that skilled and you may be considered a replaceable part, the business may be very hierarchically structured with seniority playing a major role, and the business may be run according to old rules which discourage innovation and advancement within the organization.

That being said it is up to you to determine what kind of a business you would like to work for and it is always smart to ask ahead of time for examples of workers within the company who have succeeded in the path which you hope to follow.

Employers like to paint a rosy picture of their organization and may BS you to some extent. It is ultimately your responsibility to get them to prove what they are saying by asking for concrete good examples of happy and successful personnel during a job interview. The humans who started out where you did and made it to where you want to end up is important information to know from your new employer.

THE TRUTH ABOUT POLITICAL PARTIES+

Signpost-showing-the-poli-006

There are basically two opposing political views. On one end of the spectrum humans want government to do more or pass more laws and effectively control everything and on the other extreme end of the spectrum there are humans who want the government to do as little as possible and basically stay out of the personal decision making process of individuals.

Whatever political party which you are a member of, it doesn’t have all the answers to the political morass we are in. There is some truth in all political parties but a unified just economic and moral approach is a must.

Neither political extreme is workable government since one results in an irresponsible nanny state and the other results in general lawlessness and too much freedom to behave the way that you want without consideration for your impact on others in society.

Most politicians tend to compromise and accept the good with the bad and frequently fail in following good moral principle guidelines which could theoretically ensure a trusting relationship between the governing leadership and the led. The result is growing corruption as the number of laws for monied special interests increase and the government gets more unjust and inefficient guaranteeing that the majority of the population, especially the working tax paying middle class, will be unhappy with the results.

Money is the underlying power behind politics and all parties and the way the economy is managed to a large degree reflects the justice in the society. Society must provide an incentive and opportunity to get a useful education for most, moral education for most, and an incentive to work hard with minimal taxation on contributing working citizens.

When the reverse is true and most get a useless education, bad moral education, and society is job poor with high taxes then this means economic disaster in the long duration and merely income distribution with no strings attached will fail as a realistic solution to the problem.

A moral citizenry is a must for a smoothly functioning government and when humans lose an incentive to work and want to play the system for all that they can get then this means disaster in the long duration.

The world needs a new useful updated secular morality to be taught to all impressionable elementary students. It is except in emergency situations-DON’T DESTROY BIODIVERSITY, DON’T LIE, DON’T BE INEFFICIENT, DON’T STEAL, DON’T COMMIT ADULTERY IF MARRIED, and DON’T MURDER.

Based on current trends unemployment will only increase in the near foreseeable future and there is a chronic need for EDUCATION REFORM and CHANGES IN WELFARE LAWS. Both of these are my evergreen truth books which recommend the needed changes in government laws to assure a more just society in the future.

Whatever the political party, if they start adopting these new standards then it will mean success and failing to adopt them will lead to inevitable bankruptcy and hard times.

THE TRUTH ABOUT CHILD LABOR+

india_child_labor

Historically and even now young children and teenagers work on farms and do hard labor. Today teenagers no longer work in most families and the result is that few know how to work or even want to work for a living. It is time to start employing teenagers in the workplace where they can not only get job experience but where they can learn about the work ethic.

Most schools no longer teach students useful work skills and it is high time to update child labor laws and make it possible for teenagers to work about 4 hours a day as cashiers, factory assembly line workers, urban farming, stock humans, deli workers, custodians, etc.

Yes, teenagers will compete with young adults in the work place but it will be a wake up call to those adults to get a good education or go back to school and get reeducated or spend the rest of their lives on welfare.

School hours can be shorted by at least 4 hours since education in most schools is very inefficient with many useless subjects are being taught. Specialty vans, bicycles, and scooters can be used to get students to and from work with the parent’s permission. The teenagers would start out at less than minimum wage unless they became so good that they deserved to get minimum wage for their efforts.

7 THINGS NOT TO DO WHEN STARTING A NEW MANAGERIAL JOB!!!

ext

Being a new manager in a job is basically starting out developing a good reputation and getting things done properly along the way. Peter Guber does an excellent job of suggesting the 7 major things which can derail or even end a successful start at managing new personnel.

Perhaps the biggest mistake which can be made is not investigating or doing enough research into the new organization and personnel before actually making important decisions about the organization and its personnel. You have to know how well the current system is operating before you can start taking steps to improve it the way that you would like to see it work.

Striving for a teamwork approach rather than tyrannical selfconfident or selfindulgent bossing is what makes for great and successful management in this day and age.

THE TRUTH ABOUT MINIMUM WAGE+

minimum-wage

MYTH: We will always be able to remain fully employed as a nation and it is desirable to do so.

TRUTH: We need massive underemployment to get rid of trivial unnecessary jobs in the economy and make it more efficient in the future by offering free education in a technical field as a realistic hope of future employment to those unemployed and destitute who have a desire to put in the effort and who have the ability and who will try to achieve a greater level of quality education.

With a safety net for the unemployed and destitute there will be no need for a minimum wage because if it is too low then citizens will remain unemployed and destitute supported with basic needs delivered door to door but no vehicle transportation.

Instead without a minimum wage employers will be able to hire teenage offspring to do fast food, clerical help, custodial work, deli work, urban farming, safe factory jobs,  and other safe jobs at minimal hourly rates for about 4 hours a day so that they get training in the work ethic on the job with financial help from the family.  Children of the employed will have the opportunity to learn basic job and people skills which will be very useful in the employment world where it is frequently said that you can’t get a job without experience.

Transportation to an from work can be done by specialty van, bicycles, and scooters with parental permission.

Teenage offspring of the employed will get all the job experience which they need and then some! We will also be once again in a competitive position with developing countries like China and Russia.

There may be some that feel that there would be less time for school if they worked.  Shorten the school day by four hours a day because offspring aren’t learning useful job skills in school anyway and a liberal arts education is overrated and is largely an inefficient trivial pursuit expensive bureaucracy to boot.

Teenage offspring of the unemployed and destitute should not qualify for part time work because it would motivate the adults to have more offspring and send them out to earn spending money for the unemployed and destitute. Instead the teenage offspring of the unemployed and destitute should be spending more time on education which will benefit them later in life.

I don’t believe in using profane language but I use fuck here to get the message across to those working people that I love so much such as furniture movers.  Those people have bodily difficult jobs carrying heavy furniture every day and it is a hard boring job.  Many of them use fuck and motherfucker every forth word or so and I empathize with them.

I am a man for the working people because I have been there and seen it and experienced it with my own body sweat.  Yea, I can also move medium weight furniture. I am not afraid of dirty difficult jobs or any job because different jobs are necessary and to be admired. I worked my butt off doing a speedy job by moving speedily with about three to five boxes at a time strapped to my back.  Did I get rewarded for that extra work? No!  I was working for minimum wage and there was no incentive to work efficiently and make the customer happy with a speedy move.

The truth is that most of those minimum wage jobs are unjust and in about 10 to 20 years there should be very few minimum wage jobs that robots can’t do better. Most of those minimum wage workers should be educating themselves on the internet for better technologically based jobs.  Education retraining in science and technology over the internet at home or in school should be financed by the federal government and the instruction for the audio visual education should be provided by private firms also potentially funded by foundations such as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. All the recipients of this free internet education would be the unemployed and destitute and all students in public schools and community colleges and universities.

The truth is that most minimum wage jobs should be robotized and humans should not be trapped into working at minimum subsistence levels for long durations.  That kind of work is truly dehumanizing and an unjust exploitation and minimization of the full potential of the human body and mind!!!!!!

WE DON’T NEED A MINIMUM WAGE IF WE PASS LAWS GUARANTEEING A SAFETY NET FOR ALL UNEMPLOYED AND DESTITUTE ADULTS AND THAT INCLUDES RECENT SCHOOL GRADUATES WHO CAN’T FIND EMPLOYMENT IN THE WORKPLACE. ONLY FOOD STAMPS ARE NOT ENOUGH HELP FOR THE UNEMPLOYED AND DESTITUTE STRANGERS AND FAMILY OFFSPRING!!!!!!

MONEY IS FREQUENTLY NOT THE BEST MOTIVATOR IN COMPLEX WORK!!!

motivation2jh1

For physical work more money as a reward frequently translates into better or more work. For complicated mental work a sense of self-worth, some autonomy to improve or develop a skill set, and having a purpose to the job beyond mere profit is frequently more important.

Having goals beyond mere money and having the creative freedom to pursue those goals autonomously to some extent can produce superior on the job performance.

This link provides some scientific evidence to support these findings in a very interesting informative format.

THE TRUTH ABOUT WORK

Work-Smart-then-Hard-325x285

Historically hard physical work was expected from most members of society or you starved to death or were socially ostracized and that usually meant bare subsistence living or even starving to death.

Today most valued work is mental effort and physical work is speedily being replaced by machines and robots which do the work more efficiently and more reliably.

If you are born rich or have money saved up then you don’t have to work but you can get on welfare and not have to work either.

The avalanche of welfare recipients means that the technological 21st century will mean far fewer in the middle class, few very wealthy at the top with the technological elite, and the vast majority on welfare living close to a subsistence level.

It will be a world with the majority being in the leisure class or out of work and on welfare. Being out of work will no longer be a social stigma and will no longer mean starvation but an accepted way of living out your life in relative poverty when compared to the ruling working elite.

If you are already on welfare then welcome to the dominant leisure class of the near future!!!!!!

Of course if you have your whole life in front of you then you may want to work hard at learning useful skills which are not in the liberal arts and which will not be replaced by technology in the near future. You may then live a fulfilling varied and interesting life as a middle class wage earner and maybe even be lucky enough to afford offspring on a personal independent budget.

CONCLUSION:

Working hard with mental skills or abilities will be important into the foreseeable future and if you are not that gifted mentally then the government will take care of you and your basic needs. There will be no shame in being out of work!!!

FOLLOW YOUR PASSION OR DO A GOOD PAYING USEFUL JOB??

Simon Cowell

Follow your passion is frequently not the best advice for a fulfilling good job. Star celebrity musicians, singers, actors, sport athletes, news casters, radio talk show gurus, writers, and fashion designers get the most attention and get many passionate followers all hoping to be like them.

Sadly you need much inborn talent and an excellent memory which most humans don’t have and the result is frequently much failure and disappointment for all the passionate human followers. Those socially glorified great paying jobs are frequently held by one in a million humans and most humans don’t realize that the odds are stacked against you succeeding in any of the above fields.

To be truly happy and successful you need to find a useful and successful job which you can handle mentally and physically and make good money at it.

Here is an article in the Huffington Post which shows you that some of the happiest humans are not the ones who followed their passion but found a useful good paying job instead and are happy doing it.

8 BASIC THINGS WHICH ARE A POTENTIAL SOURCE FOR HAPPINESS

mountain-lions

We all eat, drink, work, interact with other humans, move around or travel, buy things, learn something new, and entertain ourselves.

Eating and drinking healthy should be priority number one and two and work should be priority number three because it makes the first two and last five possible because they all cost you your time, energy, and money. What you spend your time, energy, and money on determines what your priorities in life are and it is usually what makes you the happiest.

If you find happiness in eating and drinking healthy and like or even love your work then you will be on the road to maximizing your happiness because you will usually have enough money left over to spend on friends, family, traveling, entertainment, and buying what you really need or just want impulsively.

If a bad job is a major source of unhappiness then make learning something new or reeducating yourself high on the priority list so that you can get a better job in the future which you will hopefully enjoy more. Yes, you will have to sacrifice the time, energy, and money spent on other happy enjoyments by cutting back on them but the investment of time, energy, and money in useful reeducation will pay off in the long duration.

If you are 25 years old maybe you will be struggling five to ten years preparing for and trying to land a better job but when you do, the remaining 40 years or so of your life will be happier ones because working takes up about a third of your lifetime. You will have increased the happiness in your life by about 30% by working at a job you really like.

Unfortunately most of us are trapped in jobs we don’t enjoy very much and the pay may not be the best. If you are single then stay single because the last thing your spouse will want to hear is you constantly complaining about what a shitty day you had on the job.

You can improve the approximately one third of your life during which you don’t work by scheduling it, budgeting it, and spending your time, energy, and what little money you have on the things that you enjoy doing in life despite a bad job.

You will probably have to cut back on buying things impulsively, traveling around so much, visiting friends, eating out at expensive restaurants, and going to movie theaters but the internet is a cheap alternative for new friends, entertainment, and buying useful and interesting goods not available in local stores.

OK, how do I budget and schedule my time and priorities more wisely and improve my relationships with humans? Do the research on the internet or read one or more of my evergreen truth books HOW TO IMPROVE YOURSELF: HOW TO GET WHAT YOU WANT; HOW TO SAVE TIME AND MONEY,   HOW TO SAVE MONEY,   LOVEALL,   MODERN PARENTING, and    GOOD MODERN BEHAVIORS.

25 THINGS TO DO DURING YOUR FIRST MONTH ON THE JOB AND EVEN LATER ON!!!!!!

40

In a nutshell, when you are starting a new job then you should be on your best behavior and start finding out information about and interacting with the humans which you will be working with in a friendly, not boorish or rude way. You should also start learning the skills which you will need on the job if you don’t have all of them already.

Most important of all, don’t start giving advice or making suggestions on how to improve the job until you have acquired a rather complete knowledge about the humans working with you and/or the rules of the job and how successfully in your estimation the rules are being followed.

Michael Dooley gives a useful list of what to do and not do on the first day on the job and many of the suggestions apply to working on the job later on also.

  1. Show up at least 15 minutes early for your shift.
  2. Avoid judging individuals based on their first impression.
  3. Don’t share negative first impressions with other individuals.
  4. Build relationships with everyone, not a friendship with someone.
  5. Find out what is important to the company- immediately.
  6. Avoid openly comparing your old job with your new job.
  7. You don’t need to prove you “already knew that.”
  8. Try to avoid being perfect at a task before you dive in.
  9. Show initiative by offering to learn doing a task, rather than only observing it.
  10. Don’t probe employees for their opinions on your new leader
  11. Don’t ask individuals what you can get away with at work.
  12. Put your cell phone away at all costs, even if all of the other employees are using them (personal usage).
  13. Dress your best, look presentable- no wrinkles etc.
  14. Ask others what drives them, and what their hobbies are to show your human side.
  15. Follow up with other’s interests by sharing your own when they are similar.
  16. Be the last employee to leave for the day.
  17. Get plenty of sleep and be well-rested, don’t complain about being tired and bored.
  18. Show general interest in other’s assignments and responsibilities.
  19. Recap with your leader at the end of the day; thank them for providing you an excellent job.
  20. Avoid making suggestions at all costs! Wait until you understand the business before you try to fix it.
  21. When it is time for breaks, try to connect with everyone, force yourself to engage with others.
  22. Be extremely professional, don’t curse or say inappropriate comments-ever.
  23. Find top performing individuals- this is essential for your initial and ongoing development.
  24. Don’t complain about processes and policies until you are qualified to challenge them.
  25. Show nonstop appreciation for those willing to teach you along the way.

8 INEFFICIENT THINGS YOU SHOULD NOT BE DOING ON THE JOB!!!

20130429-full

Checking your phone or emails while you are talking to someone:

It is rude and conveys the impression that you don’t care about the human who you are talking to and hurts their feelings.

Multitasking during a meeting:

It is smart to give your full attention to a meeting so you can flush out and understand hidden agendas, you can spot opportunities to build bridges, and you will find ways to make yourself indispensable to the humans who matter.

Thinking about humans who don’t make a difference in your life:

Don’t waste your time thinking about celebrities and distant acquaintances who can’t improve your life. When you have some time off, think about the important humans in your life such as family, close friends, close coworkers, and your boss who are humans that can make your life better and they truly deserve your attention.

Getting distracted and responding to every notification immediately:

Everything which pops up on your phone or computer is not something which needs your immediate attention and focusing on your work should be priority number one. Most casual notifications don’t need an immediate response.

Letting the past always affect your future:

Stop being tormented by past mistakes. It was an opportunity to learn what not to do and personal knowledge about yourself and how you can improve in the future. When others make mistakes it is an opportunity to be gracious, forgiving, and understanding. Making mistakes and correcting them is training or a learning experience which you should not let torment you.

Wait until you are sure you will succeed in a creative effort:

Success when being creative is a probability and not a certainty. Try and fail and you can learn and try again and succeed. Always expecting success on the first attempt is a perfectionist’s delusion in the real world of work. If you are too impulsive and fail too many times your confidence will be affected but waiting too long to do something because of a fear of failure is also not the proper way to work creatively.

Talking about someone behind their back:

Gossiping or frequently saying bad things about a human behind their back is poor social etiquette. If there is something which you find unpleasant about a human confront them personally and comment on their behavior. You will be respected more if you don’t speak critically of others behind their backs.

Saying “yes” when you really mean “no”:

Refusing a favor for a colleague, customer, or friend is hard because you don’t want to hurt their feelings but if you honestly don’t want to do the favor for a good reason or just a gut feeling then most people will understand. Most humans given enough time will not hold a grudge against you for saying no sincerely. If you say yes to something which you didn’t want to do you will regret it for a very long time and feel bad about it even if it is only during the time that you did the favor.

12 THINGS WHICH AN EMPLOYEE WANTS BESIDES MONEY

o-SURFING-KID-900

To feel pride in a job

When asked what they do for a living, an employee wants to boast rather than feel shame about their job. If the job is a rather thankless job then at least they want to feel that it is valued by the organization.

To be treated justly

Employees hate it when favoritism is shown to humans who kiss butt and do not work hard or well. Most realize that life isn’t always fair but they don’t want the boss to make it even more unfair than it is.

To respect the boss

Employees want to be respected but they also want a boss who can be respected and deserves their loyalty and trust. A boss who is honest and sincere and tries to treat everyone fairly will be respected most of the time.

To be listened to or be acknowledged

Employees want the boss to listen and respond appropriately to employee input and dislike it when a boss acts as if he or she doesn’t care what they think and the feelings they may have about the job.

To have personal time

Some entrepreneurial bosses almost exclusively devote themselves to their job but employees feel uncomfortable when they are asked to sacrifice their time with family and personal interests outside the job which they feel have a large priority in their lives.

To be guided and not micromanaged

Employees want the boss to help with information or guidance when they ask for it but also hope that the boss will help them when they are having problems but may be too afraid to ask. What they don’t want is a boss who monitors their work every step along the way and seem too nosey.

To see bad workers get fired

If there is a disruptive employee, an employee who isn’t doing his or her job, or one who is always causing unnecessary problems for one or more employees then they should get fired or the boss will be thought of as being just as incompetent as the bad employee.

To not always feel stressed out

There are rare occasions when there seems to not be enough time given for a task or job but this should not become a bad habit of the boss. A boss who anticipates problems and sets realistic goals and timelines will not overstress the employee.

To have some security

No reasonable employee expects lifetime employment but no one likes to live under a threat of being fired all the time. They want to feel that their time spent on the job will not be a waste of their time, energy, and effort and that the boss will give them adequate warning if they are going to be fired.

To know where the organization is going

Employees want to be on a winning team and want to know what the long range goals of the organization are. If they are not in the number one organization then at least they want to know if they are making progress towards one or more goals which will bring them closer to the number one position.

To have opportunity for advancement

Not all employees want the added responsibility which comes from job advancement but for those who desire it there should be an opportunity to acquire the new skills and experience necessary for future job advancement.

To have knowledge of how top performance is rewarded

Top performance is usually rewarded with more money but sometimes privileges or perks such as reserved parking, exercise facilities, physical therapy, training classes, business class flying and accommodations, maternity leave, or more vacation time may be a reward which costs money but which does not translate into an increase in salary.
