Ultimately healthy soil is not decimated by artificial fertilizers which kill vital microorganisms and upset the nutrient value of the soil. Soil maintained by biodiversity on the farm with animal and plant waste recycled into the soil is great organic farming on a relatively large scale and even profitable.
