THE TRUTH ABOUT RECIPROCITY

reciprocity

Reciprocity: n. exchanging subsets for mutual benefit

If you give something then you increase the probability that you will get something in return in the near and sometimes far future.

Give money and you can buy something, be friendly and humans will probably reciprocate the friendliness, do someone a favor and they will be more likely to do something for you, have a respectful conversation and it is more probable that you will get respectful conversation back.

Reciprocity is one important key to successful human relationships but it must be a moral interchange where no one is intentionally being deceived, lied to, stolen from, or exploited.

Unfortunately, bribing politicians to get unjust treatment in return with special interest laws or tax breaks which favor the bribers is also a form of criminal reciprocity which the society is tolerating to an ever greater extent.

“You scratch my back and I will scratch yours” needs a moral foundation if it is not to degenerate into unjust coalitions which steal money from the rest of us who are taxpayers or steals our health with bad food and addictive artificial drugs which benefit big conglomerates but not the average and poor citizens of a country or world.

THE TRUTH ABOUT GREED

money-greedy1

Greed: n. desiring selfishly and frequently classified as the accumulation of excessive amounts of possessions and/or money for personal use

A greedy human can be a poor human who is excessively selfish and thinks primarily only about personal gain. True greed is frequently associated with humans who have succeeded in accumulating vast wealth and tend to keep it all to themselves for their own personal benefit.

Perhaps the greediest of all individuals are the Ponzi con artists who con humans out of their money and give nothing in return while living very luxurious lifestyles.

Another example of excessive greed is technological internet start up companies which show almost no profit and grow excessively in value for a short duration only to result in eventual bankruptcy without benefiting the committed investors.

Wealthy business humans making a profit providing necessary information, goods, and services are usually not that greedy because they frequently benefit other humans who have profitable relationships with the business so there is mutual benefit.

Big money or great power tends to corrupt individuals who get greedy and want to make even bigger amounts of money and have greater power with unjust monopoly actions or lobbying government for unjust special interest legislation.

Excessive greed is also destroying the biodiversity of the food supply and wilderness real estate which is very tragic because the long duration survival of humanity depends on the conservation of biodiversity. Just laws are necessary to reduce the devastation brought on by excessive human greed.

THE TRUTH ABOUT GLUTTONY

gluttony2

Gluttony: n. eating habitually and excessively

Historically probably the greatest gluttons were the Romans some of whom consumed much food, vomited it all out or regurgitated, and continued to eat some more.

Sumo wrestlers in Japan can be considered gluttons with a purpose who eat huge amounts of food to maintain a fighting overweight.

Not all gluttons are fat and the Japanese man Takeru Kobyashi ate 69 hot dogs in 12 minutes in 2011 but is not overweight and simply has a very big stomach or a malfunctioning sphincter which lets the food pass directly into the intestines without digestion. Whether he is a habitual over eater is not known.

Eating too much and habitually doing so is a problem which plagues many obese humans because eating is a basic pleasure which few chronically obese humans can resist.

Whether gluttony is a sin is debatable but overweight gluttons tend to die younger on average than the rest of the population so they are punished for their overindulgence.

THE TRUTH ABOUT MYTHS

myths-and-realities-600x600

Myth: n. a historical lie and/or a theory which can’t be proven scientifically with measurement(s) and/or is not an accurate description of reality

There are many religious myths and even the scientific myths of theoretical physics. Social myths are the most important ones because they brainwash humans into accepting social lies.

Here are 10 examples of the most important myths which are historical lies or are theories which can’t be proven scientifically or are not an accurate description of reality.

You can be anything you want to be if you just work hard enough at it.

Truth: If you have an excellent memory, work hard, and have financial backing even then you may not be able to be anyone you would like to be. If you are not gifted or talented then your chances of being a world leader in any field is zero.

Any college degree is a guarantee of a good job.

Truth: In the technological 21st century many liberal arts degrees are job poor.

Eating fatty foods will always make you fatter.

Truth: There are plenty of normal and skinny humans who eat fatty foods and don’t gain any weight.

You can lose weight permanently by dieting without a starvation diet.

Truth: You may lose some weight by changing your diet but usually if you don’t cut back on your total calorie intake to a starvation diet then you will not lose as much weight as you want permanently.

All GMO’s will not alter the DNA of future generations.

Truth: There is already some evidence that what you eat can alter the DNA of future generations and since GMO’s are food then they can also alter the DNA of future generations and the danger is that it may be an irreversible and dangerous change.

The universe was created in six days.

Truth: Maybe the universe was never created but has been around for an eternity and will be around for an eternity. If it was created then who created the creator?

The universe was created by the big bang.

Truth: The assumption that something can be created from nothing or an infinitely small point in space is absurd.

There can be more than one universe with infinity as a limit.

Truth: One universe without an end would crash into all the other universes. Infinity is not a limit but is never ending.

Love can’t be defined.

Truth: Here is the definition of love:

Love: v. to sense a very intense pleasure for a subset(s) one cares about and the behaviors which exist with it and frequently desiring to (possess and/or interact with) and/or experience samer subset(s) for a short and/or long duration

Language is perfect and doesn’t need improvement.

Truth: Why does it take 18 or more years to master language for most humans when many animals can communicate effectively in much less than a month of training. Inefficient language with its complex grammar rules should be an archaic way of expressing yourself in the technological 21st century.

I included the last two as myths because I have accurately defined love and have shown how language can be improved to make it more logical and less irrational and emotionally biased in my evergreen truth book LOGICAL ENGLISH DICTIONARY.

THE TRUTH ABOUT COURTS

courts-pic

If I was rich and could afford the best lawyer(s) then I would conclude that the courts are indeed just and even biased in my favor.

If I was poor and couldn’t afford an excellent lawyer then my only hope would be to maybe plea bargain to a lesser criminal count and be found guilty for a lesser crime. In fact about 90% of all convictions are plea bargains partly due to the extremely large number of caseloads and it is an attempt to reduce court costs by not having to appear in court and use up precious time and money.

If you do wind up in court then good witnesses, professional opinions, and lawyers who can present facts and events in an emotionally compelling way give you the edge you may need to escape a guilty verdict.

If you are suing someone then make sure that they have deep pockets or much money because if they are poor you won’t get a dime from them and you will have to pay your lawyer for the time and money spent prosecuting.

Suing very wealthy individuals or corporations is almost impossible to do successfully and even class action suits will probably net you no more than a thousand dollars because at least a third of the money will be spent on lawyer fees and you will almost be waiting forever for a guilty verdict.

Next to money the next important factor in court cases is the reputation of the prosecution and defendant witnesses and the jury. In a modern age with so many with bad reputations for adultery, promiscuity, drug use, and lying it is getting increasingly hard to get someone to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth and the net result is many sham convictions.

Testimony can be fabricated, evidence can be fabricated, professional testimony may be faulty, witnesses may have bad reputations, and you can easily become the victim of a fraudulent prosecution.

In a largely moral society justice will prevail most of the time but in a modern increasingly immoral society the court system can’t be trusted to give just verdicts in many cases.

A return to an updated secular moral code which is taught impressionable young minds in elementary school is a must if the court system is not to further disintegrate into an unjust scam for talented liars and the powerful with much money. If humans are not conditioned from an early age not to lie, not steal, not commit adultery if married, and not deceive then I only predict the court system will become more unjust with each passing year.

THE TRUTH ABOUT COMMITMENT

commitment-means-staying-loyal

Commitment: n. attaching to a goal(s) for duration

The most popular form of commitment is a marriage commitment and many women are having a hard time getting their boyfriends to commit to marriage. Marriage is a serious long duration commitment and if a man is getting sex for free and going out with someone who may not be his ideal for a marital partner then he may be reluctant to commit his financial resources to a woman with offspring or potential offspring which are an additional serious responsibility. Many couples are not in a secure financial situation and commitment is out of the question for many.

Commitment to a career is another popular form of commitment and sometimes too large a dedication to career may make for rather bad relationships with spouse and family.

There are short duration commitments to goals and long duration commitments. Modern humans are having most problems with long duration commitments to more useful education, marriage, and careers which technology is rapidly changing and making many jobs very different or even obsolete.

Long duration commitments take much determination, persistence, and perseverance or tenacity which requires much self-motivation and many give up easily if the going gets rough or there are too many failures along the way.

One frequently overlooked commitment is to a lifetime of learning new useful knowledge and skills which can come in very handy when opportunity knocks. You will have prepared yourself to seize that opportunity and prosper.

THE TRUTH ABOUT FATE

fate

Fate: n. circumstances of a lifeform(s) and/or circumstances of a subset(s) which are frequently unexpected and which will occur in the future and theoretically is primarily caused by a god and/or nature without considering the fact that trying to achieve personal goals has predominant importance in your destiny

Destiny: n. your fate which has been modified by making and achieving goals in your life.

Your fate is theoretically the things which you will do in the future and the things which will happen to you which don’t seem to be something which you personally have any control over. They are frequently events which you didn’t expect to happen. Your feeling when that fateful thing exists is frequently- wow I didn’t expect that and God and/or nature must have had something to do with it more than my own personal involvement!

Sometimes your fate is determined by the overt and/or covert actions of other humans so all fate is not the result of God and/or nature alone unless you include humans as part of nature.

When an unexpected opportunity arises and you take advantage of it then it is frequently called fate. When you plan for the opportunity and it arises then it is your destiny because you actively chose to create it with your self-will.

Instead of saying “I got lucky or unlucky” it is more accurate to say that “It was fate” and for the rest of the events in your life it is more accurate to say that “It was my destiny!”

Fate is a subset of destiny.

THE TRUTH ABOUT EMBARRASSMENT

M_Id_210221_embarrassment

Embarrassment: n. sensing low intensity shame for a noncriminal subset(s)

We are embarrassed when we think we don’t look good in public,

can’t do a simple task well with someone present,

misbehave in front of parents or the public,

make a stupid mistake,

have to reveal our bad grades to someone who matters in our life,

don’t fulfill a promise when we said we would,

forget to acknowledge an important date such as a birthday or anniversary,

fail at public speaking,

make a mistake during a public performance,

have inferior goods or possessions when a comparison is made,

and a hundred and one more circumstances which show our incompetence, absence of good judgment, handicaps, and failings in life.

Some humans are not very embarrassment prone and boldly do normative embarrassing things to attract attention or just express their ego driven individuality. Some are so embarrassment prone and shy that they don’t venture into the real world of human interaction much and suffer a rather limited lifestyle as a result.

Most of us continue to do embarrassing things throughout life and get over them. Don’t let the fear of embarrassment rule too much of your life because none of us is perfect and embarrassing yourself in public once in a while will not destroy a basically good reputation if you have one.

Embarrassment is primarily a social phenomenon. Humans who are shy frequently have a fear of being embarrassed in public and so are frequently not very social.

The reasons for embarrassment are usually physical appearance, speech, inability to reach a goal, and inappropriate behavior. Humans frequently are embarrassed if they look very different from humans around them or have a physical handicap, if they have a unique dialect or have speech impediments,  if they fail in fulfilling a promise or goal, and if they are not sure how to behave in some public situations. Speaking in public is also an embarrassing situation for most humans.

Extreme shyness and anxiety in public is frequently diagnosed as an anxiety disorder and even treated with drugs or medication by psychiatrists and this is wrong because the side effects are devastating and don’t cure the embarrassing feelings. It is a fact of life that rare individuals are paranoid about going out in public but that is no reason that they should be medicated. They need radical behavior modification which unfortunately takes much time and money to cure and most can’t afford the right treatment for their paranoia.

The fear of rejection or the fear of ridicule is the real reason why humans feel embarrassment and it handicaps many humans in their relationships with the opposite sex and other humans. Shame is the common word for embarrassment but it is different because shame can be felt not only for bad behavior but also for a criminal act which is not part of embarrassing behavior.

Shame: n. sensing displeasure caused by guilt and/or unworthiness and/or disrepute and/or powerlessness to achieve a goal(s)

THE TRUTH ABOUT PROBLEM SOLVING

steps-to-problem-solve

You can solve some problems by letting others solve them, you can solve some problems with the help of others, you can solve the problem yourself, or you can ignore a problem and hope that it goes away on its own.

If you are a scientist then solving a problem may be very complex. You will have to analyze a situation, gather data by experimentation, and maybe come up with a verifiable hypothesis which explains accurately what is going on. You will effectively be using the scientific method with appropriate analyzing and synthesizing.

If you have a common problem then gathering all the information needed to solve it is important. Once you gather the information you can then use your previous knowledge or expertise to organize the information logically and solve the problem using known techniques.

Come up with more than one way of solving the problem if possible and call it plan A, B, C, etc. If one approach to solving a problem doesn’t work then you should be ready to use plan B or C to try and solve it.

Most problems have a solution and the key to solving them is prior experience with similar problems and understanding that sometimes there is frequently more than one way of finding a solution.

If you have the luxury of much time on your hand then you can keep trying to solve a problem in a casual way without much stress but unfortunately most problems need speedy solutions and you will frequently be under stressful time constraints.

Some problems are not as important as other problems and you should learn to prioritize the important problems so that you can spend more time trying to solve them. The little problems may not go away but you can frequently not solve them or ignore them and sometimes they go away on their own with changing circumstances.

Solving problems at home and not on the job require parenting skills and relationship skills which frequently get easier to solve with prior experience. Trial and error is a bad but sometimes necessary way that problems get solved at home when prior expertise or knowledge is inadequate or absent.

Sometimes solving a big problem like poor grades means solving many little problems first. It may mean getting adequate sleep, setting aside dependable time for studying, eliminating distractions during study time, motivating by promising rewards for conscientious studying, and even getting tutoring help during study periods.

Some problems like an overly emotional spouse have no solutions and you may be forced to adapt and live with the problem if divorce is not an option.

THE TRUTH ABOUT KINDNESS

pledge card front

Kindness: n. relatively small medium intensity caring which isn’t requested

Humans rarely say be kind to me because kindness is small caring things done which are not requested. If you nurture and/or protect a human in a small way then you are being kind. It frequently involves giving something which you have- your time, expertise, praise, advice, small gifts, and a little money.

I have listed only a few of the possibilities of unrequested kindnesses:

Saying I like you

Complimenting someone on doing or saying the right thing

Asking “How are you?” and listening intently and caring about the response

Introducing yourself to someone whom you always see around

Offering free professional advice or offer advice if you see someone has a problem which needs a solution

Holding the door or elevator for someone

Showing courtesy on the road

Making a family cook a meal for them

Giving up your seat on a train or bus to someone who seems to need it, especially the handicapped

Hugging a friend

Mentoring someone’s offspring

Visiting a senior center and talk to or entertain some of them

Volunteering somewhere without being asked

Donate food to a food bank or donate old clothes to a shelter

Paying for a meal for a homeless human

Planting a tree (being kind to nature)

Recycling (being kind to nature)

Returning wildlife to the wild ( being kind to nature)

I am not a believer in random acts of kindness, especially to total strangers. Giving small amounts of money to humans who don’t ask for it is stupidity not kindness and giving small amounts of money to strangers who ask for it is also stupidity and not kindness!!!!!!

THE TRUTH ABOUT INVENTION

henryford_invention

Invention: n. creating a new unique machine with a unique part(s) and/or a new chemical combination which doesn’t exist in nature and/or a new theory which did not exist previously and which is recognized as the creation of some unique mental ability which is different from ordinary mechanical skill and/or craftsmanship and/or habitual behavior

Inventors are a relatively rare breed in this world who can invent new things which never existed before one after the other. The “inventor” of the Dyson vacuum cleaner is not a true inventor but a creator because he merely added, subtracted and rearranged existing parts and made a unique vacuum cleaner. The invention of the transistor is a true invention because it used doped materials which don’t exist in nature to create a truly new utilitarian device.

Invention is different than standard creativity which uses what is already available and merely changes it, adds or subtracts parts, or rearranges the parts. Invention broadly means inventing a truly new part or device with unique properties never before utilized.

The uncertainty of whether to call new software patentable or a new invention or one merely of the efforts of creativity in programming is causing a legal unsolvable problem in the patent office. Software can be copyrighted but a few changes in it can be considered to be a new copyright so intellectual rights can frequently not be protected from theft.

Cellphones are rearranged hardware parts and new software which is hard to patent or copyright because small changes in hardware or software can be considered to be a new device. Patents should not be given for creative rearrangements of hardware and software but they can be copyrighted.

I am creative but not inventive even though I create words which never existed or come up with new definitions of words which never existed. I am trying to improve language and not really invent a new one. My efforts are copyrightable but not patentable.

THE TRUTH ABOUT DISCUSSION

Group-Discussion-Tips

Discussion: n. communicating much about a subset(s) which may or may not lead to a goal(s) and/or judgment(s)

Discussion is definitely preferable to angry confrontation when it comes to solving problems or just talking about an important subject.  Some subjects are relatively easy to discuss because there is no emotional commitment or strong opinions but it is frequently not easy to discuss subjects such as politics, religion, and sports where we may have some strong differing opinions and may get terribly upset if our views or opinions are challenged.

Discussion also means that you are a good listener and pay attention to what the other human is trying to communicate and successfully reading his or her attitude or emotional commitment to the subject being discussed.

Another important aspect of discussion is being able to ask questions and gaining a deeper understanding of the point of view of the human whom you are discussing with.

Empathizing with another’s point of view and frequently praising the point of view if it has merit will increase the probability that the human will also empathize with your point of view and hopefully listen intently.

If the subject is a highly emotional one then it may be advisable to wait until the emotions die down and then try to discuss the subject with a cool head. When emotional outbursts have run their course or have died down then that is the time to start discussing what caused the outburst and whether there is anything which can be done to prevent future outbursts.

When trying to discuss problems and find solutions it is important to state the problem in words, communicate one or more ways of possibly solving the problem, and then mutually agreeing on a course of action to solve the problem. If the problem seems to have no solution then a little research into the situation may be necessary or an opinion from an expert or third party in the field being discussed may help.

Facts backing up an opinion, prior experiences, and opinions from other humans will frequently help a discussion proceed successfully if there seems to be a deadlock and neither side seems to know what to do.

Group discussions are more difficult  to control and can end in confusion if no one is in charge of leading the group discussion. Everyone should be given an opportunity to contribute something to the discussion and a leader is frequently needed to break up deadlocks when and if they occur. In groups there are frequently one or two leaders who want to do most of the talking and offer most of the suggestions on what to do so the main leader has the responsibility of managing the ego’s of the participants and giving each one just representation in the discussion.

Discussion is a learned skill and you frequently get better at it as you age and have a wealth of information and life experiences to rely upon when making decisions in life.

THE TRUTH ABOUT HEARTBURN

heartburn

Too much acid in the stomach which frequently travels up the esophagus and sometimes enters the throat is a sign of heartburn or acid reflux. To reduce it don’t eat spicy foods or foods which cause it that you are aware of. Monitor what you eat and make a connection between what you eat and the heartburn.

Sometimes heartburn is caused by lying down after a meal or spending too much time in bed after a meal. Wait at least three or two hours before lying down if you find that you get heartburn for that reason.

Sometimes drinking too much beer of the wrong kind and too much acidic orange juice can also be the cause of mild heartburn so even monitor what you drink and try to make connections between the drink and heartburn.

As long as you don’t use it frequently you can try neutralizing stomach acid with a little baking soda or bicarbonate mixed with water to quickly reduce the amount of acid in your stomach. Sometimes chewing gum with bicarbonate in it may reduce mild heartburn symptoms by neutralizing some acid. Using anti acid medications too frequently will cause your stomach to become more acidic and it doesn’t really cure the cause which is eating the wrong foods or eating too much which generates too much acid in your stomach.

Most heartburn can be cured by avoiding the wrong foods, not lying down after a meal, and sometimes just loosening a belt which causes stomach pressure.

Some feel that there is a connection between much stress or traumatic incidents and heartburn. However, the amount of acid in the stomach has not been shown to increase under stress scientifically so it may be a psychological myth that stress causes heartburn.

THE TRUTH ABOUT SHAME

shame-on-you1

Shame: n. sensing displeasure caused by guilt and/or unworthiness and/or disrepute and/or powerlessness to achieve a goal(s)

Shame can be very intense embarrassment but it is also something felt by moral humans when they do something immoral or criminal and feel some remorse or have a wish that they had never done the immoral or criminal action.

Some humans do immoral and criminal actions and don’t feel shame and some do very embarrassing things and don’t feel shame either. Humans who have an awareness of what is right and wrong and firmly believe are those who experience shame when they do something which they feel is wrong.

Finally dependable humans who promise to do things or to do things on time will frequently feel shame if they do not fulfill those goals the way that they promised.

THE TRUTH ABOUT TEACHING

teaching

Teach: v. to communicate knowledge and/or skills and/or behavior to another

One on one teaching is the most effective form of teaching in many cases. Teaching to a classroom of students with slow, in between, and fast learners is very inefficient where you bore the fast students and lose the slow students trying to teach to the majority in between students.

In poor neighborhoods absence of discipline, unmotivating dysfunctional families, downward peer pressure, and disrespect of the teachers are all further reasons why traditional classroom teaching fails.

A teacher can try to teach many things to a student but unfortunately experience is sometimes the best teacher when it comes to human relationships and life experiences on the job and elsewhere.

Teachers in poor neighborhoods are plagued with discipline problems and students not willing to learn primarily because of a dysfunctional family life and poor role models who don’t encourage moral, industrious, and achievement oriented behavior.

Most teachers are not paid well and the reason is not obvious to most. Most of them are doing a mediocre job of teaching with mediocre results and deserve mediocre pay.

Quality teachers are rare because poor salaries discourage competence and even good competent teachers feel the frustration of teaching 30 students at a time with a wide range of learning speeds and frequently leave the profession for better more rewarding opportunities elsewhere.

There is some hope that individualized interactive audio visual computer education which is adjusted to your pace of learning may save students from mediocre teaching but only time will tell how speedily it will replace the armies of mediocre human teachers worldwide.

THE TRUTH ABOUT OVERCONFIDENCE

overconfidence-investwithalex

Overconfidence is seen as a drawback for the average human because most  don’t want to take big risks with their lives and prefer security and low risk living.

Entrepreneurs are unique humans prone to high risk taking and actually frequently need to have overconfidence to maintain motivation in reaching their lofty goals.

About 9 out of 10 startups do fail even if you are overconfident and the difference in the ones that fail and succeed is frequently a result of too few skills, knowledge, preparation, and emotional or human intelligence.

Emotional or human intelligence means surrounding yourself with competent trustworthy humans who can help you in your business so that you don’t have to devote too much attention to minutiae and areas where you don’t have that much expertise. You have to be a good leader who can motivate trustworthy competent workers and have to be very competent in your chosen profession with business knowledge and a flair for promotion.

Egoism: n. making largely impulsive judgments and behaving based on whether it helps a human’s self-interest first

Many of us are egoists and the smart egoists realize that to optimize benefits for yourself you also have to involve other humans whom you help and are friendly towards.

In order to get attention and desirable benefits you must give something of yourself to others who will then reciprocate and give back. Hopefully you will get more than you give them in the long duration although in the short duration you may actually have to give more to entice them into giving you something back eventually.

Once you understand that you need the respect and even admiration from others to get the most benefits for yourself then your ego will not run wild and you will include good relationships with others as part of your ego profile or behavior.

To be respected and even admired by others you have to be honest, sincere, dependable, trustworthy, friendly, and competent in what you do. Once you understand the importance of these fundamental principles your journey through life will have optimized your ego potential at personal benefits.

Con artists are numerous in society who will fake friendliness, honesty, dependability, and competence to get you to trust them and make you part with your hard earned money. If you are smart then you will learn to detect the fake human con artists from the real trustworthy humans in life and associate more with the latter.

Our ego is incredibly selfish at birth and some never learn that the world doesn’t just revolve around you but that there are other egos competing with yours and need nurturing too.

THE TRUTH ABOUT DELEGATION

480-b5505a6dc6529daf7a33d9b5d8a04720ab7c57a3

Delegation: n. giving one’s authority and/or permission to one frequently lower in rank to do a subset(s) which is frequently a task(s) and/or plan(s)

Trying to do too much with too little time can be personally very stressful with sometimes bad results and delegation of authority is sometimes the answer.

Delegation means that part of your responsibilities or authority is given to an employee who is mentored in what to do and how to do it. It is similar to  apprenticing an employee in a job which they may want to do at some point in the future.

Delegating takes some of the workload off of you and can create a feeling of mutual trust and accomplishment. It can lead to a more self-motivated happy and competent worker who may then be in a better position to take over your job if the need arises when you are promoted in your job.

THE TRUTH ABOUT FAVORS

images (1)

Favor: v. to give a relatively small reward to someone and exchanging it for a minimal received reward such as a “thank you”

You can reward someone with a favor or ask that a favor be done to you.  Exchanging favors has a bonding effect between humans because it is the exchanging of rewards or favors which benefits one in some relatively small way and we are generally thankful for it.

Can you do me a small favor? This is sometimes a prelude to asking more favors which can become an unwelcome series of requests which become more numerous as time progresses. If a lopsided exchange of favors exists then one is being exploited by the one getting the most favors.

In business free samples can sometimes be thought of small favors done to get one interested in making an actual purchase of the product. Coupons can also be thought of as small and sometimes large favors.

In marriage sometimes asking a favor is better than demanding something be done and can frequently avoid arguments and conflicts and get results. When a favor is done it is smart to acknowledge the favor with a “Thank you.”

THE TRUTH ABOUT FORGIVENESS

Forgiveness1

Forgiveness: n. not punishing someone for reaching the wrong goal(s) and/or doing a bad behavior(s) and saying to the offender “I forgive you”

There is basically complete forgiveness and conditional forgiveness. When you are wrongly criticized, your feelings are hurt, or someone injures you in some way there is a tendency to want to punish that human for the offense.

If the injury was intentional then forgiveness is harder to do but if you suspect that the injury was unintentional then forgiveness is a realistic option since we all make mistakes sometimes and offend humans without really wanting to.

If someone is intentionally trying to ruin your reputation or trying to get you fired from a job then forgiveness may not be a viable option because they are trying to ruin your social status.

Bad humans exist in society in relative abundance and if you can’t avoid them or ignore them then challenging them head on and fighting for justice may be the only realistic way of dealing with a situation. If someone acts like your enemy and tries to destroy you socially then you should fight back to the best of your ability and put up a good fight even though the odds may be against you winning the battle.

In marital life your spouse is not your enemy or at least shouldn’t be so forgiving for bad behavior is frequently necessary to avoid the burden of vengeful hateful feelings festering in your mind. Moral transgressions such as adultery may be forgiven maybe once or twice but it should be conditional forgiveness and you should demand a sincere promise to not be adulterous again. If you don’t get a sincere promise to not be adulterous again then threatening with a divorce and actually going through with it is a realistic option.

Lying is also a moral transgression which should not be tolerated in marriage or with close friendships because sooner rather than later a trusting relationship will break down and the relationship will no longer be one worth saving. Once again conditional forgiveness is necessary where you insist that lying again won’t be tolerated.

How many times can your partner in a relationship lie to you with forgiveness from you? Life is not mathematics so there is no rule of thumb with which to determine how many times you can forgive lying. It probably depends much on what the lying is about. If your relationship is lying about important things in your life then chances are you will not be able to maintain a trusting relationship for very long.

Forgiving offspring for bad behavior is necessary but you should insist on a sincere apology from the offspring. In the case of a moral transgression such as lying or stealing conditional forgiveness is necessary with a sincere promise that it will not happen again.

Coupled with the conditional forgiveness should be a threat of severe punishment or withdrawal of important privileges for a long duration if the moral transgression happens again because lying and stealing should not be tolerated in trusting family relationships.

Conditional forgiveness can be demanded by asking the offender to compensate for the wrong done. For adults the compensation may be money and for offspring it may be requesting that they do household chores for a week or two as a form of punishment for the offense.

There should be unpleasant consequences for important transgressions coupled with conditional forgiveness but for the minor offenses in life a sincere apology is sufficient to get complete and unconditional forgiveness. There are adults who will not apologize under any circumstances and many of them can also be unconditionally forgiven.

THE TRUTH ABOUT DEDICATION

images (3)

To understand dedication you must understand the difference between commitment, devotion, and dedication which all seem to have the same meaning.

Commitment is merely attaching yourself to a goal(s) for a duration and you may not be emotionally committed and not have much resolve to follow through with the commitment.

Devotion is a loving and loyal commitment which can last a lifetime and it is usually reserved for spouses, offspring, non- profit organizations, religious organizations, and sometimes business organizations. You can be devoted to making much money but that is a sad kind of devotion if good honest relationships with humans are not an integral part of your quest for much money.

Dedication is emotionally intense commitment to a goal(s) which means that you are frequently investing a relatively large amount of time, effort, and even money and the dedication lasts for a duration which rarely is a lifetime and is frequently much less than a lifetime or a relatively short duration compared to a lifetime.

Dedication: n. achieving a goal(s) with intense commitment and frequently with much use of time and/or effort and/or frequently money

Commitment: n. attaching to a goal(s) for duration

Devotion: n. frequently showing loyal and loving commitment and frequently investing a relatively large amount of (time and/or money) and/or effort into samer commitment

Loyal: adj. intense attraction to a goal(s) which is frequently a human(s) and/or organization(s) which is frequently devotion with love but sometimes devotion without love

Eagerness: n. an intense desire for a subset(s) and an intense desire to do what is essential to achieve and/or get samer subset(s) and it is frequently for a relatively short duration

Eagerness is wanting something very much and being willing to do what is necessary for that something to exist in your life and the desire frequently lasts for a relatively short duration. You may be eager to buy something which interests you much, you may be eager to go on vacation, you may be eager to attend a sporting event, you may be eager to start a new job, or you may be eager to start reading a book. Eagerness is a transient sensation and you frequently can’t maintain the feeling for a very long duration.

Eagerness can also be thought of as a short duration form of intense anticipation which exists with a desire to do what is necessary to make the anticipated event(s) possible.

THE TRUTH ABOUT FLATTERY

flattery

Flattery: n. praised beyond objective need and frequently with some dishonesty

Many fall victim to flattery because most of us like to be praised for looking good and behaving admirably. Flattering your boss or an authority figure is frequently seen as a valid way to get favors in return.

Flattery is frequently excessive praise or it is dishonest praise done to make a human feel good or important and if you believe your flatterers than you run the risk of inaccurately judging your own potential as a human being.

Many celebrities are flattered so much that they lose touch with reality and frequently live lives of isolation from the real world and real humans.

If you are victimized by yes men and yes women which you surround yourself with on a daily basis then you too will lose touch with reality sooner or later to your own personal detriment. There is nothing more helpful than honest criticism to get you back into a more realistic appraisal of your real abilities and potential.

Flattery is BS praise which you should be aware of and you should try to avoid the flatterers as much as possible to live sanely in the real world.

Imitation is sometimes considered a form of flattery but it is sometimes harmful to your bottom line or economic existence. Plagiarism is a form of flattery if you consider imitation to be flattery and it should be considered an intellectual property crime in many circumstances.

THE TRUTH ABOUT FAVORITISM

favoritism-bird-favoritisim-demotivational-poster-12605468976

Favoritism: n. giving unjust priority rights to one human or group of humans at the expense of another and/or damaging another who is frequently more qualified

Those in power and/or authority figures frequently are in a position to grant privileges and when they grant them based on personal preferences and not objective facts then this called favoritism.

A younger offspring may be favored by the parent and an older sibling may be resentful of the favoritism.

A lesser qualified employee may be promoted and the more qualified one may be resentful of the promotion which they feel should have gone to them.

A spouse may be resentful that too much time is spent on the job and not enough with the family because he or she favors the job more than the family which is just as worthy of attention.

A politician may favor big money interests over small money interests and thus be accused of favoring in an unjust way the big money interests with special interest legislation.

Discrimination is favoritism in action and even just laws against discrimination frequently don’t eliminate it entirely because there are clever ways around the laws which ensure that favoritism will endure as long as man and animals are dominant in this world.

Favoritism is emotionally biased human nature in action and unfortunately much injustice is done because of it.

It is OK to have favorite humans in your life and favorite things which you like to possess or do. The injustice frequently arises when your favorite humans get priority treatment, especially when someone else is more qualified to perform a task or work for you.

Nepotism is a form of favoritism where you put your own relatives in positions of power when they may not be as well qualified to fulfill the responsibilities of the job. Not being able to find trustworthy humans to fill important positions of power may lead to nepotism but the efficiency and good health of a business or organization frequently suffers.

Favoritism is also when you promote friends to positions of authority over more qualified humans just simply because you like their personalities or you feel that they deserve a favor from you for being so nice to you. The danger here is that you may be promoting an incompetent ass kisser to a position of authority and may start to regret your emotional impulsive decision at a later date.

Favoritism thrives in society because WHO you know is frequently more important than WHAT you know. This results in many embittered individuals without the proper social connections not getting positions which they deserve. Promotion based on merit is an ideal which unfortunately is frequently violated in the very subjective liberal arts fields and it is the technological and scientific fields where promotion based on merit is a more frequent but not a guaranteed condition.

Humans with emotional intelligence unfortunately rule most of the world and competent leadership frequently is a victim because true competence is frequently exploited by the socially adept. The competent seldom want to deal with the intricacies of sometimes ruthless managerial politics.

THE TRUTH ABOUT CONTEMPT

nl-620-contempt-sign-201103

Contempt: n. believing a subset(s)’s (appearance and/or behavior(s)) and/or action(s) are (bad and/or wrong) and/or inferior to a relatively large degree and not to be respected and also frequently hating the subset(s) for (bad and/or wrong) and/or (inferior and/or immoral)(behavior(s) and/or action(s))

A contemptuous feeling frequently originates from a feeling of superiority, disrespect, and even hate for a human(s) and/or their actions.

The feeling of superiority may originate from a feeling that the human is genetically inferior, educationally inferior, or has a menial job and is financially very poor.

Disrespect may originate from a feeling that the human is immoral or is incompetent in doing things.

Hate may originate from a desire or wish that a human did not exist at all and be a part of your life experience.

In India the untouchable class was frequently held in contempt by other Indians because they were considered one step higher than pond scum.

THE TRUTH ABOUT EXPLOITATION

Sheryl_Fuhr_Elderly_Exploitation_4

Exploitation: n. optimizing usefulness for profit without using the full potential of (a natural resource(s) and/or a human(s))

Feel that the environment and/or many humans are being exploited? This is true and frequently to make a quick profit.

Commodities are mined for one or two metals and the rest of the raw materials are washed away polluting the environment.

Factory farming is exploiting animals and ruining their health which in turn is ruining the health of those who eat their meat.

Pesticides, herbicides, many GMO’s, and artificial fertilizers make the plants less healthy and are starting to kill bees and other pollinators so necessary for successful natural plant reproduction.

Food diversity destruction and wildlife destruction all in the name of exploitation of resources for optimum profit is seriously threatening the long duration survival of healthy living on the face of this precious endangered planet. Wildlife will be our only safety net when our food supply becomes too unhealthy to consume because of short sighted technological bad exploitation or manipulation of domestic plants and animals.

Humans are trapped financially in menial work working hard and do not have the time or money to develop to their full potential as human beings.

Dysfunctional families abound and the breakdown is caused by cultural moral decay coupled with the tolerance of overly promiscuous behavior. This is riddling the new generation with anxiety not knowing how to raise offspring any more with so many conflicting parenting philosophies and the absence of certainty of what proper acceptable behavior is.

Relativistic situation ethics is not the answer and psychiatrists and psychologists are a bad replacement for mythological outdated religious morality. They medicate rather than properly educate their flock which is increasingly suffering from more and more depression and dysfunctional behavior.

The rich exploit the poor and middle class. Life is not just and that is just the way that the world has worked in the past and is working today and on into the foreseeable future. The solution is an updated secular morality taught to young impressionable minds and a change to just laws. Also necessary is a switch over to more logical language usage so that the poor and middle class do not behave as stupidly and gullibly as they do using language in a primarily emotional irrational way.

My evergreen truth books EDUCATION REFORM, CHANGES IN WELFARE LAWS, JUSTICE, MODERN PARENTING, and SCIENTIFIC THESAURUS offer logical and what I think are reasonable ways to gradually move out of the exploitative world too focused on the unacceptable use of big money to circumvent laws and moral behavior.

THE TRUTH ABOUT EXAGGERATION

images

Exaggeration: n. adding untruths to truths in a communication

In a highly emotional society exaggeration is commonplace. We say things are beautiful, great, wonderful, lovely, and super when they don’t deserve that lofty status.

Parents frequently exaggerate the praise given to offspring and the result is that the offspring develop an overly high, unrealistic appraisal of their selfworth, abilities, and competence.

Advertisers exaggerate the desirability of their products and frequently we are disappointed by the reality.

Exaggerations about yourself may make you feel more important than you actually are but it is self delusion which few humans will be convinced of in the long duration.

Exaggeration is emotional and factual BS so don’t do it if you want to maintain a reputation for honesty and want to be respected for your opinion.

Error: n. deviating from (truth and/or accuracy) and/or rightness and the deviation is the largest when antonyms such as untruth and/or wrong are used to identify these deviation extremes

In humans these errors are frequently caused by (bad and/or wrong judgments) and/or (ignorance and/or carelessness) and/or inattention.

What is the difference between an error and a mistake? A mistake is basically a frequently unintentional error.

A mistake is made by a human and an error is made by a logical thinking human or a robot and is a more objective mistake. Machines can make true errors and humans frequently make subjective mistakes instead of objective ones.

THE TRUTH ABOUT COMPROMISE

NoCompromise

Compromise: v. to agree to end a discussion(s) by competing humans each making a concession(s) and/or exchanging benefits with a drawback(s)

It is more difficult to compromise when arguing but by intense discussion it is possible to reach an agreement by opposing sides by each making a concession(s) or exchanging benefits while maintaining a certain drawback(s).

The art of compromise is important in good marriages and relationships.

There are also benefits to compromise in competing businesses and agreement is sometimes made on just rules to follow as good business practices among similar businesses who work together and not necessarily always as fierce opposing foes or competitors with a winner take all attitude.

Sometimes in life you can’t completely get what you want or need and have to be satisfied with a partial achievement of your goal(s) or you may have to give something to get what you want or need. This is called compromising and the same principles can be applied to family, business, and political compromises.

You may only have enough money for one car and even though you want a sports car you may have to compromise and get a sport SUV which is desirable for family transportation.

You may want your spouse to work and help with the finances but you may also have to promise to do more work around the house which you don’t enjoy to help out an overburdened spouse.

In the first case of a car you are not getting what you really want and in the second case you are getting what you want but have to give up some of your free time to do more chores around the house so there is some sacrifice or concession taking place in the compromise arrangement on your part.

Exchanging benefits may not seem like a compromise because both parties are getting what they want or need but the concession is that to achieve both goals more money will have to be spent.

The compromise may be not getting the pressure cleaner or appliance right away but waiting to save up enough money so that you can purchase both of them at the same time. Waiting for a purchase or giving up time saving for the purchase is a concession, especially if only one spouse is paying for the purchases.

Political compromises are frequently exchanging benefits for both parties and concessions frequently take the form of not getting everything but at least something which you want to pass legislation on. In general politics is making demands or suggesting legislation and making concessions by not having all the demands or suggested legislation being approved.

Compromise on tariffs between nations also involves concessions. You may help one industry by getting a tariff reduction from a nation but others may suffer if you reduce tariffs on those industries in exchange agreements. Free trade benefits and hurts the participating nations and frequently the rich ones benefit the most.

One area of life which should not be compromised is your moral principles. Making concessions to them and accepting lies, adulterous behavior, and deceptions will just make your life and relationships with humans worse off and not better in the long duration.

ve both goals more money will have to be spent.

Your spouse may want a pressure cleaner and you may want a new appliance for the kitchen.

Offspring need more encouragement than adults and sometimes caring or nurturing and protecting them gives them the courage to explore their environment and is the encouragement they need to live a challenging relatively fear free existence. Verbal rewards in the form of praise are what offspring crave and motivates them to behave and do things which the parents approve of.

Food treats and toys should not be used as motivating devices to get offspring to behave because they will associate good behavior with food and toy rewards which are external motivators and will not develop necessary internal self-motivation to behave well.

The best kind of encouragement for offspring is parental involvement or sharing of educational experiences which teach offspring about the necessary knowledge and skills needed in this world. Encouraging offspring well is being a good role model and doing the things which you expect your offspring to also do.

Adults also need encouragement with praise, assurance, emotional empathy, good advice, instruction, and sometimes money rewards to get them to achieve worthwhile goals.

Sometimes persuasion is necessary to encourage a human to do something which they may at first be reluctant to do on their own.

If you are honest, sincere, dependable, trustworthy, caring, and competent then your encouragement will be more respected and accepted more frequently by other humans.

THE TRUTH ABOUT CONFUSION

confusion

Confusion: n. caused meaninglessness and/or inability to judge by (large complexity and/or vagueness) and/or (misleading and/or knowledgelessness) and/or (uncertainty and/or newness) and/or irrationality

Frequently we are confused or don’t understand what to do or can’t make a judgment because it is a new situation which we have never dealt with before and don’t feel certain what to do under the circumstances.

We can be confused because a situation is so complex that we don’t understand it and don’t know what to do.

Confusion also exists if we have no knowledge in a field and can’t make a right decision about a situation.

Confusion can exist if something is irrational and doesn’t make logical sense.

Confusion can exist if instructions are too vague and we can’t follow them to a logical conclusion.

Confusion can also result from misleading information with contradictory statements or irrational instructions.

Finally confusion can exist if there is too much uncertainty and we fear making any decision to take action.

THE TRUTH ABOUT ENTERTAINMENT

images (2)

Entertainment: n. using a subset(s) which tries to give much pleasure and usually gives little useful knowledge and/or information

The world is being saturated with entertainment for the masses in the form of music, movies, sports, games, mindless TV, and the glorification of gambling, alcohol and drug use.

Movies and comedy is plagued by profanity, drug references, and promiscuity which devastates more young lives than it helps all in the name of freedom and entertainment.

Western societies are obsessed with entertainment and are deluded into thinking that anything which you do should be fun or it is not worth doing.

Our role models are celebrities who rise to fame and then do stupid things to maintain that celebrity status once their popularity wanes. Too many are very bad role models with dysfunctional family relationships and excursions into addictive drug abuse habits.

Many in the younger generation aspire to be celebrities and don’t realize that you have to be relatively attractive, very talented, with very good memories to make it in the celebrity world.

The brainwashing continues during mediocre schooling in the subjective biased liberal arts which is job poor and even graduates wind up working for minimum wage or slightly more upon graduation.

We have a largely unskilled generation with poor job skills because they haven’t been taught the need for a useful technological education in the modern fast changing technological 21st century.

An overdose of entertainment without a logical functional purpose is largely responsible for the absence of realistic goals in the lives of many citizens. Purposeless frequently depressed lives seeking the next pleasure fix and next thing to buy is rampant. Instead of seeking useful improvement of bad habits and setting realistic goals in life many are wallowing in an entertainment haze interrupted daily by shitty jobs or no job.

There is good entertainment, bad entertainment, and a mixture of good and bad entertainment in society and unfortunately young impressionable minds can’t tell the difference between good and bad and are the victims of the bad entertainment which is growing in influence and devastating many lives and preventing many from living more wholesomely.

The health of a society can be judged by the entertainment which is pursued and unfortunately most of western entertainment is quite bad and getting worse.

Filling in leisure time with fun activities is what entertainment is all about. Show business is the major source of entertainment with movies, music, TV, and the internet providing most of it. Some enjoy sports and actively participate but many are just passive observers sitting down or attending sporting events and concerts.

Western societies are obsessed with entertainment and are deluded into thinking that anything which you do should be fun or it is not worth doing.

Education is handicapped with an emphasis on fun and even serious topics such as medical shows frequently succumb to entertainment mania and try to devise broadcasting techniques which entertain more than inform.

Reality shows are not in fact reality but staged presentations to captivate the attention of audiences and entertain.

With actors and celebrities as the major role models there are few willing to put in the time, effort, and achievement and work hard trying to become skilled and knowledgeable technically where most of the future jobs are. Massive unemployment and an entitlement attitude is very prevalent and not many seem to want to put much effort into a job anymore, especially if it isn’t fun.

Many are stuck in shitty jobs, bad relationships, feel hopeless and try to escape a bad life with alcohol, drugs, and gambling which is a form of pleasure seeking and entertainment for an unhappy mind.

THE TRUTH ABOUT EFFORT

effort-determines-your-success

Effort: n. investing time and energy and mental ability in achieving a goal(s)

We have sometimes been told that we are not putting enough effort into what we are doing. What does it really mean?

It means that we didn’t invest enough of our time, energy, and mental ability in trying to achieve the goal(s).

Mental ability is the only question mark because mental skills vary from human to human. Some are more logical than others and have more reasoning ability. Others have emotional strength or ability and will passionately and optimistically pursue a goal(s) through difficult times. Mental ability frequently means having the knowledge, emotional and logical tenacity to pursue a goal(s) until it is achieved.

Investing energy also sometimes means investing physical strength in an effort to do something and we may just be inadequate physically to achieve a goal(s) which requires great strength.

Given enough time most goal(s) can be achieved through persistent, determined, and persevering effort with the right human connections. Unfortunately most of us are constrained by not enough time or being too busy and don’t put enough time into many worthwhile goal(s) which frequently remain unachieved.

Some of us put in much effort just living day to day without conscious long duration goals and the result is that one day is much like another day without any major changes. Most live life without putting in much difficult effort unless it is doing difficult work on the job. The result is frequently that few worthwhile truly important goals in life are achieved or accomplished.

At one extreme there are the workaholics and at the other the lazy bums and most of us fall in somewhere in between the two extremes. The former put in much effort and the latter put in relatively little effort.

There is physical and mental effort and most useful jobs in society are increasingly requiring more mental than physical effort.

As a semi-retired human I am finding out that I am putting in much more mental than physical effort to live life and it is something which I highly recommend for retired humans. When you can no longer exercise your body that well then at least exercise your brain by learning new knowledge and mental skills to keep you young and vital mentally.

One of the things needed for a fulfilling life is maintaining a busy life as long as you can even though in your retirement years it should be a busy mental life with moderate exercise.

Finally effort alone will sometimes not achieve a goal(s) and the right tools, information, human connections, or goods and an investment of money is also needed.

THE TRUTH ABOUT COMPLAINTS

vehicle-complaints

Complaint: n. communicating dissatisfaction and annoyance at a subset(s)

We all complain about something and frequently complain about things which we can’t change such as the weather. No one likes a complainer and especially one who complains about the same thing over and over which is called nagging.

Plenty of things go wrong in life with mistakes made and sometimes behaving badly so complaints are a fact of life. A general rule of thumb is-if you can’t do anything about the source of your complaint then ignore it or try to avoid it but don’t stress about how bad you think an insoluble problem is.

If you don’t want to be annoying and irritating then don’t complain much unless you think the complaining will register and something can or will be done about it by you or someone else.

In business complaints are important and may be a good source of ideas for improving the product or service and making customers happier or more satisfied with what they purchase.

The squeaky wheel usually gets attention but just like crying wolf more than once your complaining will be ignored if it goes on too long without resolution and your reputation as someone radiating negative vibes will scare away many humans whom you may want to attract.

THE TRUTH ABOUT EMOTION

????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Emotion: n. a very intense mental and/or brain sensation and/or the behaviors which exist with samer sensation

We are a human species very susceptible to emotional flare ups which come and go with various degrees of intensity of primarily fear, love, and hate. We fear that we will not survive physically and mentally with all our beliefs, opinions, and habitual behaviors and we are constantly trying to defend them largely impulsively and rarely rationally.

The language biases us in favor of a highly emotional existence rather than a logical one and until we change the way that we use language we will wallow in our emotional irrational biases. We intuitively feel that the conservation of our emotionally biased personal world view is vital to our physical and mental survival.

Intuition and impulsive behavior primarily guides most of our lives which is based on prior experiences with the environment and especially other humans with which we have interacted with in our past. Many of us are handicapped with less than perfect looks, mediocre memories, bad role models, mediocre education, and financially relatively poor resources.

Many of us are trapped with many bad habits and relatively bad relationships with other humans and we are emotionally conditioned to stay in our traps because our emotions frequently don’t sense a logical way out of our limiting predicament. Human competition is everywhere and we are constantly reminded by society that we are much less than ideal role models physically, educationally, mentally, and financially.

There are the relatively few in leadership positions and most of us are the gullible irrational brainwashed followers in an increasingly immoral human world which is rapidly destroying biodiversity and in the process threatening the long duration survival of humans on the face of this precious endangered planet.

A primary reason why humanity is so shitty is that an emotional language and emotional indoctrination is used to condition humans who then mostly behave irrationally in their lives almost randomly experimenting with life without seeing much purpose and not logically planning successful courses of action for their lives and setting good goals in life.

An emotional overdose of free expression is largely a western predicament because other parts of the world are still largely regimented with minimal freedom to let their emotions run wild in society but the emotions still trap them to live the limiting lives which they live.

The language needs a logical updating and young humans need to be indoctrinated with a secular moral code worldwide if this world has any hope of surviving into the distant future in a healthy, sane, peaceful, and environmentally sustainable way.

THE TRUTH ABOUT FRUGALITY

frugalityVillage1

Frugality: n. economically efficient with saved up money for emergencies and/or retirement

Being thrifty or frugal is no longer being promoted by western cultures and this misguided philosophy will lead to inevitable bankruptcy of too many individuals and nations.

Inflation, national counterfeit money, illogical large credit line limits, credit forgiveness encouraging profligate spending, and a poor return on investments or savings accounts is making planning for the future impractical and unreasonable. There is little incentive to save for the future because inflation eats away at your savings and the result is that individuals and nations no longer have a safety fat reserve of money to rely upon in emergencies or crisis situations.

The financially profligate and irresponsible are being rewarded at taxpayer’s expense and wealth is being concentrated in fewer and fewer hands rapidly destroying the middle class of hard productive tax paying workers.

The solution is rewarding individuals for saving their money with a decent percentage return and cutting the inflation rate to zero so that money does not lose its value over time.

Energy does not decrease or increase in value over time but stays constant so why should money lose its value over time? The value of money worldwide should remain constant for just world government. Now each nation or economic unit with the same currency is trying to steal from each other by playing with the value of their money to try and get a competitive edge. We desperately need one constant value world currency tied to tangible assets worldwide for distributional justice to exist for all nations.

All individuals, organizations, and nations have to balance their budgets and have some saved up for emergencies. The world money supply should also have some money in reserve for emergencies and it should not be counterfeited at will and distributed to politically favored nations who can’t balance their budgets due to irresponsible financial management and absence of population control whose increase makes  both physical and financial survival less likely.

Big money of course does not want to do that because they are too busy raping and pillaging those who work for a living and try to earn a living wage.

Investment and innovation will not cease but improve in quality and not quantity in the long duration if frugality is encouraged.

Frugal money management leads to sustainable just financial living which is then reflected in sustainable living in the environment too. Nature is efficient with its energy usage and has fat reserves for emergencies. Humanity must also learn to be efficient with its energy or money which is a symbol for energy and must ensure that each human economic unit functions frugally or sustainably within the greater whole.

Frugality is a measure of the justice in society for everyone and the absence of frugality rewards the unjust, inefficient, and frequently immoral in society with an unjust distribution of money within the society.

Frugality and morality can be thought of as necessary conditions for a potentially just human society. Destroy frugality and morality and humanity becomes a chaotic mess polluting the environment with deviant human forms and byproducts.

THE TRUTH ABOUT COMFORT

comfort-zone

Comfort: v. to sense mild pleasure without stress and/or anxiety and/or pain

When we are without stress, anxiety, and pain most of us feel comfortable although some may want to add having creature comforts like a nice bed, nice meal, comforting music, a house with appliances as also being necessary to feel comfortable in ones surroundings.

Most of us enjoy a comfortable feeling but others thrive on activity and stress and don’t enjoy comfort as much as most of us. Those who don’t like comfort may in fact feel guilty or uneasy if they are not constantly engaged in some kind of activity and they are frequently hyperactive personalities.

For those of us with much stress in our lives, much anxiety, and even pain it is a smart thing to try and relax for at least an hour or two before bedtime in relative comfort and to get plenty of sleep to recharge our bodies with energy for the next day’s dose of activity. Resting in mental and physical comfort a little during the day with meditation or before bedtime is a good way to balance an otherwise hectic life.

Some of us enjoy a comfortable life so much that we are not willing to take on new responsibilities or experience new things which would improve our lives. Those who love comfort too much are usually not that ambitious and are frequently satisfied with a status quo existence.

It is generally true that lazy humans enjoy comfort more than the rest of us.

THE TRUTH ABOUT CHANGE

change-is-permanent

Change: to move from one subset(s) to a different one which at a minimum is only a minimal mental and/or a minimal spatial movement of samer subset(s) from one place to another and/or to modify

Nothing is more certain in life than change and the need to adapt to changes in our lives to live life successfully. We change friends, spouses, jobs, shelter, the food we eat, the places which we visit, some old habits, experiences, and the knowledge which we have.

Most things change and successfully adapting to the changes is what makes life interesting and also challenging. Many don’t welcome change because it threatens their predictable existence and many are for the status quo. There are some exceptions to the general rule but it is a truism that the older generation is more conservative than the younger generation which is still trying to succeed in this world and challenging the old ways of thinking and doing things.

The old generation frequently stands in the way of progress and necessary adaptation and that is probably why nature intended for them to die and pass the baton of trying to survive on to the new generation.
