When you insist then you are in effect trying to force your demanding on someone without accepting the possibility that there may indeed be disagreement with your demanding.
Insistence on young offspring can work but insisting that an adult do something, especially if they are in disagreement with your demanding, is one sure way to start an argument with someone. Leave your insistent attitude at home and don’t bring it to the office unless your whole approach to leadership is of a tyrannical nature.
