Convince: v. to persuade yourself without coercion using internal and external information and sensing the truth of a subset(s) which frequently is a personal subjective truth and not an objective one
You convince yourself and you try to persuade others so that they can convince themselves that the persuasion was acceptable or valid. You convince others only indirectly through persuasion.
When you convince yourself then you use the knowledge, experiences, or information stored in your brain and try to make sense out of the information being externally inputted to your brain.
Convincing has another very important subset which is that no coercion or physical violence or the threat of violence must be used in the convincing process. If you are being convinced with coercion then this is called brainwashing with force or the threat of force.
